Diho Siam is a popular Thai restaurant known for its generous portions, tasty food, and friendly service, especially from Nina. Customers rave about the Pad Thai and the option to order both Thai and Chinese dishes. Some mention slow service or issues with table cleanliness.
Tip: Portions are generous, so be prepared to share or take leftovers home. If ordering Pad See Ew, be aware that the soy sauce flavor can be strong.

Tasty food. Good portion sizes. I have been to the location in Mission Viejo and I would say it is comparable. I got the pan-fried noodles with beef over a bed of lettuce. Flavorful sauce and good amount of beef
I had the shrimp yellow curry entree. They give a pretty large container of rice with the meal. Taste was good. I like that they put a good number of shrimp in there
Cute place. Good food. Clean. Nice service. Prices are very good. I will be going here for Thai food from now on.
Just had lunch at Diho Siam in Lake Forest, and it was spot on! The pad thai was flavorful, and the portions were generous—perfect for a laid-back meal.
Every time I’m privileged to eat at DIHO SIAM it’s consistently great tasting food. The service is the reason why I come here. Meet Nina, an impeccable waitress who focuses on customer experience. Being recently handicapped (2017) I’m grateful to that there’s professionals out there that recognize and do whatever it takes to make sure the customer experience is paramount. Nina is perfect coupled by amazing food. Nina is a true leader in the restaurant industry. Everyone should be honored to have her on their team. Great times always, thank you Nina

This place's food is the best! My #1 go to spot for Thai & Chinese for a very long time now. Authentic & delicious. Reasonable prices too.
We love this restaurant. If you love Thai food this place will satisfy you. They also serve Chinese food so you can mix what you want to eat. Very good and the help is fantastic.
My favorite Thai spot. Food is soo delicious. They bring in to you steaming hot (which I absolutely love). The spicy sauce is also so good!
This is a gem of a restaurant. It has amazing food, super friendly hosts and very homely atmosphere. Definitely coming here again.
The Curried Potato Wontons are amazing
Food is fantastic, love the drunken noodles, pad se ew, and spicy basil. The ladies are great and the outdoor seating is perfect on nice days.
Great place to dine in if you are looking for authentic thai food. Highly recommend drunken noodles and thom kha soup.
Lots of variety on their menu! The menu is actually split into two parts, Thai food and Chinese food. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and it's usually not too crowded. We have dined in and done take out orders. We love eating here!
My family and I have been coming here for over 15 years. It's our favorite spot. The food and the service are excellent and worth the drive from the inland empire.
Thai is my favorite food. This is my favorite Thai restaurant. Love every dish and the service is on point and the prices are excellent particularly for the high quality. My dishes are green bean curry, coconut soup, and yang Jim (they call it Tiger something now).yum!
My family has been going here for more than 10 years and it has never disappointed. Great menu variety and is always delicious. My personal favorite is the pineapple curry, just the right balance of spicy and sweet.
Passing thru Irvine and stopped for lunch. This is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been too. Outstanding, friendly service to match the food. Will be stopping here every time I’m heading to San Diego. Thank you ladies for a wonderful lunch
Amazing place. The New Year's Chicken is always a hit with everyone I take here. Staff is always friendly and every few years they redo the interior. I can't give Diho Siam higher praise! Try it!
Food always delicious here. Recent lunch with my friend we had Beef Salad, Green Curry Chicken and a noodle dish that she ordered. And sat outside on a beautiful SoCal day. 😁👍
The best tom kha and tom yum soup in OC!
The food was fresh and tasty. We ordered yellow curry and drunken noodles. The curry was to die for. I ordered another one to go. The owner lady was very nice as well.
My all time, consistently great, go to restaurant, is Diho. I have been going here since 1987. The food remains my favorite and the staff is beyond fantastic! Everything on the menu is exceptionally delicious.
Best Thai Chinese food restaurant in so-cal. been going here for over 20 years and they are always amazing, food is always amazing I love Diho. the interior is amazing very calm vibes. great for anyone
Whether I’m in the mood for Thai or Chinese, Diho Siam is my favorite restaurant and their quick service is always predictably delicious!! My favorites are the Hot & Sour and Tom Kha soups and the egg rolls!! Diho Siam never disappoints and always satisfies!
Clean, nice atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food! Specialty Chicken (new year chicken) and Pumpkin Curry were soooo good! Will definitely eat here again.
I am glad I found Diho Siam. Everything I have tried is tasty and I haven't been disappointed yet. The staff are friendly, and the place has a family-run vibe that makes me feel welcome. I recommend the pineapple rice, but my favorite is the green curry.
The Pad Thai was super yummy, I asked for it very wet and it was extra sweet for that reason, just the way I like it. I also ordered a red curry with pumpkin that was pretty delicious too.
My family has been going there for the last 23 years. The owner have seen my kids grown since when they were small until now that all three are adults. When they are in town, their 1st stop is Diho for a good meal. Same when I have friends to visit, I bring them here.
Quaint affordable, reasonably priced, good customer service, and fast service, 3 mushroom disj with chicken was good, as well as there fried chicken and beef skewers, good ample free parking.
I like that they serve Thai and Chinese food. The portions are generous and delicious. Beat the lunch crowd or go for dinner to enjoy your experience. The staff is very friendly.
This place has great food and the restaurant is decent looking. It looks clean and organized but it is not anything extraordinary when it comes to ambient. The food however is amazing!!! To me that’s what really counts. People emphasize way too much in service and in other pointless things. What really matters the most is that the food is delicious and this place delivers just that. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
A good local joint for tasty Chinese or Thai food options. Staff are very friendly and service is generally quick, making this an effective work lunch destination. The serving sizes are generous and the prices were reasonable, especially for the lunch specials. I highly recommend trying the Pad Tai as it has a fantastic flavor.
Amazing food and staff! My go to!
The best Thai food in Orange County or even California! This has been our go to spot for a while and will keep coming back. Authentic and affordable
Best Thai food around. Always consistently delicious. Pad Thai Avocado Mango salad Pineapple rice These three are our favorites. Yum!!
Very happy with my take-out experience tonight. Had to review. First of all they had real angel wings. Thai restaurants seem to be going away from offering these because they take time to prepare. And they were big and very tasty. Pad Thai was above average and huge portion with lots of peanuts. And the pricing on both of these was very low. I absolutely will back many times. Can't wait to try other items.
Tom Kha hot pot is always so tasty and satisfying. The satay was perfect. The veggie delight was nicely seasoned and great. The yellow curry had a touch of heat and was smooth and delicious. The staff is always friendly and when my friend asked them to delay the entrees they did. Not a huge deal but too many restaurants don't or won't or can't. We are regulars and clearly most of their clientele are.
Ordered the ginger mushroom trio with tofu and jasmine rice and egg rolls. This was ridiculously good and the togo packing job was excellent. I don't have a single complaint... not too greasy, flavorful, fresh veggies, and even the chicken in my roommate's order was tender and soft. The mushrooms sucked up the garlic flavor in a blissful way. Shop is clean. I'd come every week if I hadn't realized it was there a week before moving!!
I live about 30miles away from Diho Siam. It is definitely worth the drive because I always have a wonderful experience. I have had multiple visits and every single time I go, the employees always seem to know some of the customers. It's a combination of the delicious dishes and magnetic personalities of the staff that keeps bringing customers back. I have never waited more than ten to fifteen minutes to receive my entrees. The only drawback is the parking situation of the plaza, but if you can avoid the lunch rush, you'll have no issues. This humble restaurant gives me a sense of nostalgia. The spicy vinegar with chopped peppers brings me back to my childhood, when I would create spicy sauces to match each meal. When I walk into the establishment, I'm transported to a memory where my relatives invite me to their kitchen to feed me. If you have never been here, give it a try. I want to know if anyone else feels safe and at home here, like I do.
Menu is half Chinese and on the flip side, Thai. Friendly staff, ut you better be ready when she comes to take your order! I had Phad Thai and it was delicious. My wife had almond chicken and she said it was excellent. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is nice.
Delicious food and such good service!
Lots of good Thai place in this neighborhood... This one should be towards the top of your list. I've only dinner on their Thai menu (they have a Chinese menu too) - their Curries are very flavorful and rich. Their portions are just right. Service is very good - very attentive, polite and helpful. Beware, if you're planning on having lunch on a weekday, get there early (before 12 as much as possible). This place gets packed amazingly quickly. Also, regardless of time of day, if you can carpool, you'll be better off - this shopping center has a undersized parking lot.
Delivery is very quick, food is hot and perfectly cooked!
This place is delicious! Casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Lots of GF options! Great spot for lunch.
So far, this is probably the best Chinese food I've had in Orange County. The Pad Thai is also excellent.
I love this little spot. My husband and I have been visiting their various locations for 10+ years. Consistently delicious. We order take out regularly and occasionally dine in. Whenever we dine in, the service is great and the atmosphere is very quiet, clean, and cozy.
Awesome place nice atmosphere clean and nice friendly service and food is excellent amazing choices so delicious we go to several locations love it all
We did take out! The food was excellent. Thank you!
This is our favorite Thai restaurant. It's a nice sit-down place for family gatherings, but honestly pricing is so reasonable that it's even a great place for quick lunches, pick upd or deliveries. Food arrives superfast. Staff has always been super friendly, and great with little kids. The food is outstanding. Their hot and sour and the egg drop soups are fantastic. Their pad Thai and curries are also amazing. There's satays are fantastic. We probably go here or deliver at least once a week.
Love the food here, especially since I can order both Chinese and Thai! Very generous portions and perfect seasoning, not too salty or saucy, just right!!!
Portions always generous and food always good! We go here every time we come from Arizona.
Love this place!! A must try! Always a great experience, delicious food and wonderful customer service! Thank you!!
Best drunken noodles on the planet. No need to order anything else.
I want to thank Nina for making my visit so much better! The food is always great, but in the past, I’ve had some visits where another lady was loud and impatient, making me feel unwelcome. Nina changed that with her warm, friendly, and attentive service. Thanks to her, I’m excited to return for more delicious food!
I’ve been going here for over 20 years and the owners make you feel like family. Every time I call as soon as I start giving my phone number, they already know who it is. Food is amazing and my favorite is crispy orange chicken and the glass noodle soup but there are plenty of other dishes that are just as good. That’s just my top two.

At Diho Siam Thai Restaurant, you can enjoy a variety of Thai and Chinese dishes, which is a great option for those craving both cuisines. The portions are generous, ensuring you won't leave hungry. I particularly enjoyed their Pad See Ew, although the soy sauce flavor was a bit strong, the overall taste was still pleasing. What's even better is that the prices are affordable, making it a budget-friendly dining choice. The staff members are also very friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive dining experience. Overall, Diho Siam Thai Restaurant offers a satisfying dining experience with its ample portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service.
Came here for a weekend late lunch with a group of 6 and it was great. We had to wait 5-10 minutes as a lunch rush died down but it wasn't too bad. Overall, the portions are quite large and the service is very very friendly and attentive. Just good people :) We ordered a bunch of things and everything seemed to taste fine but my favorite was the red curry!
We ordered the Pad Se Lew dish. We requested no sauce be put on the dish, and to put the sauce on the side only. We received the order with soy sauce.

I've been a loyal customer far too long and they know me since I typically order 'New Year Chicken' to go. Great food but good luck finding parking during dinner time and weekends.
Consistently good food (whether from their Chinese or Thai menu) for a fair price + these ladies hustle and provide good service even during the busy lunch hour. Love the fresh flowers!
Our first visit in 8 years due to a relocation to the PacNW. It was every bit as good as it was 8 years ago. Chicken satay, potstickers, po thak soup and pad thai all freshly prepared, super delicious and plentiful. Haven't been able to find Thai food this enjoyable anywhere in PacNW area. Will surely be back whenever we visit Orange County.
Nice little shop; food is authentic and good. Great staff that make you feel right at home. We sat outside and enjoyed our lunch. We will be back soon.
They serve Chinese food and Thai food. Good lunch special which included salad and soup but no soup included on weekends. Price and service is good, portions right. The chinese food is good but the thai food is great. The owner is such a sweetheart. She's very nice and made me feel like a family friend. She knew long time customers by name. I will definitely be back.
decent selection of Chinese and Thai dishes. good portion sizes, try asking them to tone down the salt tho. pricing is okay ($15 avg a dish) but the value is alright. my usual go to now for Chinese/Thai takeout.
I used to come to Diho Siam pretty often when I used to live in Lake Forest considering that the Thai food they have here is pretty good and priced reasonably well. Even though we now live in Irvine, my girlfriend and I decided we wanted Thai food for dinner last night and came here after a Costco run. I'm usually a big fan of Pad Thai when coming to any Thai cuisine, but decided to change it up and try out other things on the menu. Thai Iced Tea (3/5): Nothing too special here really... if anything it's like any other Thai Iced Tea I've ever had before. I think $3.00 for one of these is a tad bit pricey, considering I make just as good of a one at home with the tea leaves and some condensed milk. Spicy Meat Salad (4/5): My first time trying this dish out. Surprisingly it came out to be pretty delicious and the meat is cooked and seasoned well. The only thing that got me a little bit disappointed was that I was expecting literally a salad with just meat and no veggies and the portion was smaller than I would like. However, it is a salad and can't say that I'm surprised you get enough to just satisfy your hunger pains until the entree comes out. Green Jungle Curry (4/5): Decided to get this with just the scallops instead of the seafood combo. Not sure if I regretted my decision or indifferent, but I was worried that the amount of scallops given in the seafood combo would consists of only a couple of them. The overall taste and quality of the curry though was pretty spot on to what you'd expect from any Thai restaurant. Although the scallop route as a protein wasn't too bad, I think I'll opt for the beef next time for any other curry I try here.
My favorite Thai restaurant. Great food. Menu variety. And, great lunch specials.
Pretty good Thai restaurant offering Chinese food as well. I always stick with Thai food. If you are craving Thai food in this area, this is a good choice with nice customer service

Cons: 1) Super slow service. We went at 1:10p for lunch and it was about 40% full and then we ordered pad thai..nothinf special but waited exactly 30mins until the food was served. We had to hurry since we only have an hour lunch. Even when asked for our check, it took them long time.. 2) They use too much oil.. food was very oily. Pros: 1) Portion is large...lots of noodles for the price. Lunch specials cheaper by a dollar but the main dish portion was the same for lunch special and dinner menu and lunch special vame with a cup of soup so get lunch special! 2) staff was pretty friendly.
Good food, Nina provided excellent service. The big negative is a very sticky table all around. Feels soooo dirty. This needs major upkeep and maintenance.

Gai yang is so dry it's like it's been cooked 3 times, and is bland. Rad na is okay but the chicken in it is super dry.
Food was good, average type Thai food! Service should be improved to maintain customers.
Stick with the Thai food. I bought some of each and the Kung Pao was terrible, and I mean BAD. The Thai dish was much better (Fish Cake). Very expensive of course.
Sometimes I call during open business hours, but still, no one is picking up the phone. Why? But yeah, their food is bomb, especially the New Year's Chicken, or Thai Friend Rice and probably many more I haven't tried yet. 👍 Also, woman who answers (I don't know if she is the owner or just works there), she get be hard to understand because of her accent at times, and also, she can be rude at times. I don't know if that's just her personality, but yeah, turn off for me.
TLDR: Food was good but not memorable. Overall I was happy with my visit and would come back again to try other dishes. May update review/rating after trying other offerings. Ordered two dishes for takeout: Pad See Ew (w/ Chicken) and Pad Woon Sen (w/ Chicken, 5/5 Spicy). Both noodle dishes were well cooked and had pleasant flavor and texture but were unfortunately bland/under seasoned, as if not enough of the sauces were added during cooking. Despite ordering the spiciest option possible, the Pad Woon Sen was barely spicy and also had some unusual vegetables mixed in such as Zucchini and Snow Peas which are not typically featured in that dish and didn’t blend well. I did not dine in, but the restaurant was well decorated and looked clean and intimate. The staff was friendly and my order was ready very quickly.

Food is good but pickup service is a nightmare during the virus. Thai restaurants are already supposed to be used to pickup but this place is a disaster. Everyone jammed in a small place. No process for announcing orders. Lots of people with no masks or social distancing. Avoid until business returns to normal.
We ordered from this restaurant since 2019 and loved everything, but tonight I ordered meals and got chicken instead of pork. Because we ordered through Door Dash and I have no idea how DD handles things, I called directly to speak with the restaurant. The woman on the phone told me her chef insisted it was pork. I told her I was looking at the food and tasting it, and it was not pork. She still insisted very rudely that it was correct. I tried again saying that it’s not a big deal, clearly it’s a mistake, but it’s not correct. She insisted again even more rudely. I repeated it’s just a mistake, but I’m looking at and tasting this food and can assure her it’s not, and please work with me because we have ordered here for a long time, but there are plenty of other Thai restaurants around we can pick from. She told me to go to DD and then hung up on me. I don’t understand the hostility right from the start when I called. I’m sure the chef thinks they did it right, but there are how many orders cooked at a time? Why does the chef’s memory rank over my real-time experience? It was also very oily this time, more than usual.
The food was dissapointing. The service was very average. The table was set with only forks to eat fried rice and large pieces of fried chicken. Staff was polite. But that does not compensate for the tasteless food served. I was surprised to see so many positive reviews. THAI KITCHEN in Irvine is streets ahead in taste quality and service.
Went here for the first time today and ordered chinese bbq lunch special. The meat tasted extremely rancid and I felt lile throwing up after eating a few bites. Did not ask for a replacement or for it to be remade, I completely lost my appetite, so I paid for my bill and left ASAP. Anyways, the prices are pretty good and the atmosphere is very cosy. The servers here seemed inattentive and looked like they were miserable to be there. Their extensive and yet simple menu seems appealing, but after my first horrendous visit, I am afraid it'll be my last.

all of a sudden they reduced their dinner menu portion rice to less than a half of what it used to be!!!!! and when i tell them i ordered dinner menu they say yeah, they change the rice portion. unacceptable!!!
Manager the only one allowed to take orders both on phone and tables. Then she displayed outright bigotry to African-American sitting at table next to us. Never again. Oh, food was good in taste and amount.
I say......to every one...food ok,,,,...but don't pay w your debit card...yesterday I discovered this DIHO SIAM restaurant is ChargingMy debit card for over a year 21+ time ...and I only went one time in October 2021...now is 08/31/2022....my bank only can pay me last 3 month transaction...I'm a hard working person....working hard for my money..........is over 800+ $$$ from this restaurant ...
My family took me out for a birthday lunch, to Diho Siam the other day, and as usual, food was delicious, and Norma was really nice! Unfortunately, we again ran into this very rude lady, DANG, she is just outright obnoxious, and really difficult to deal with, and RUINS the experience. We will not be returning as long as she works at that location.
Resturant is good but the staff : particularly one waitress - short and Thai speaking - is super rude. Today we went for lunch and the bill was $60. I paid $70. But to my shocking surprise she throw away the bill book on floor and start speaking very rudely. My wife saw and went back to her and said Excuse me- she said go away I am talking to myself. How could a restaurant keep such a rude aggressive abusive waitress. NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.
Just like some of the reviews say, the lady is rude at the register and service is everything!! Awful attitude and they don’t check orders as often as she should because upon picking up an order that should have been ready, she just put it in to be prepared! Yikes!
The service is one of the WORST I have ever experienced in my life. The old short lady that takes the orders should resign & find a new job, terrible for business. She literally smashed our left over food with her hand and through it in the trash can cussing to her self about us.
Went here with a friend when it wasn't even very busy. There were two tables who already had food, some people came in to get to go orders and us. When we arrived we were told to sit wherever we wanted, we were given menus and a bowl of crunchy straws (they were yummy, not sure what they were called) and then that was it. We waited for 20 minutes and were ignored the entire time, never given water, had our order taken, or even acknowledged. Tried to get the attention of the two women working there to no avail. Finally we got up and left and went to the Italian place down the street.
I had a really bad experience at Mission Viejo site: had a house call close by and on my way back to my office dropped in on them for lunch: the waitress was in a REALLY bad mood, was almost spatting at me while taking my order and did not even give me my food: I wanted to talk to the owner, was not there, but I've got the name of her: Viven. If you want to have a peaceful experience do not cross with her. Will report to the owner as well. My recommendation: do not go there.
I haven’t written a review about a restaurant in probably a couple years but this one I feel needs to be done. I visited this restaurant for lunch today and I ordered the yellow curry chicken dish that was $11. I got water and with the lunch special I was supposed to get a bowl of soup with my meal, the first thing that was delivered to the table was those little crunchy stringy things. Underneath the crunchy little stringy things in the bowl was trash. They were little pieces of plastic that were pulled off of what appears to be a plastic bag then shortly after the waitress came out with a salad, even though I didn’t order salad And she mumbled something under her breath as if she was giving it to me for free. When she brought me my water, there were slimy little specs of what appeared to be boogers on the side of my glass. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and wiped it off, thinking that it was maybe some rice that had smeared onto the glass when they had poured the water in the kitchen. Then my dish came with the soup when I got my bill it was $22 instead of $11. I eat out often and I know that sometimes people make mistakes but this place sucks. I didn’t argue Bill Because I had to leave in a hurry. But I will never eat here again.
Ordered from DoorDash. Lousy food. Hot and sour was sweet! Chicken and broccoli insipid. So much for high door dash ratings, AVOID Diho Siam.
I agree with one of the reviewers of this place. The food is good. We have had no issues with that. I could easily rate this place 4 to 5 stars -- but I knocked off 4 stars and giving it a 1-star rate, because for the 3 visits and patronization of this restaurant, my family and I encountered the eldest, short-statured female Thai server twice. For both times, she was RUDE and SARCASTIC! On our first visit, I tried to give her my orders (6 dishes) as I typed it on my phone - for her convenience - I thought I was being nice but it backfired on me! She said she doesn't touch people's phones (I was holding my phone and showing my list of orders to her!) On this particular (#3) visit, I ordered their soup, Tom yum with shrimp. I politely asked her if the shrimp has shells on it (some dishes, especially Asian dishes, do leave the shells on their shrimps). I was expecting a simple yes or no answer which would've been sufficient... Instead, she lectured me in a loud enough voice, that the other customers looked at our table! My mom controlled her temper to not answer her back and I, being younger than the server, just brushed off her rudeness! I didn't order much this time and our bill was $36 and I considered not leaving any tips at all but she hardly served us coz there were 2 other (Latina) servers who catered to us more than she did (and have much better attitude than her), so I thought the tips would be shared with them. It's too surprising to learn that this Thai lady has been serving there for over 30 years even though she clearly doesn't have a good customer service at all! It's time for her to retire!
This place is my favorite since I moved to California. I went there on 9/10/24 around 7pm to place a take out order. The lady at the register was arrogant, disrespectful, very very rude and was laughing at me. Unfortunately my order was not cooked well and tested just like a water. Very bad experience.
The worse service ever! The old lady looked like the boss complained in front of the customers that their only one waiter who was also the cashier was off, so she had to take care of everything. She yielded and complained in front of us right after we asked for spicy sauce. Then she avoided us without taking care of us till we had to go to the cashier to pay. We still paid the tips but for sure we will never ever visit again. Nobody wants to see waitress give you attitude even smashed the food with her fingers after she grapped your plate. We felt frightened and didn’t want to experience such a horrible service any more.
One of the server is rude. This happened after my mom paid using her card in the bill and gave a cash tip: This server returned the tray with my mom’s card, cash tip and receipt for her to sign but this server acted rude and just slammed the tray on the table. Note: By % is 10% of total price,
