Prospect Mountain Diner Lake George Reviews
Supper cute dinner, breakfast was great . We both had gotten the omelets with homefries and toast and a side of pancakes .everything came out great . The portion size was good. The service was fast . I had no complaints at all .
Authentic diner food. Waitress was the best server. Pancake was undercooked but able to return to the kitchen with no issue. Western omelets were the best coffee refilled without asking.
So happy to eat here again!!!! Amazing food!!! You can tell it's made with love!!! My daughter and I had the breakfast burrito. Bacon egg, cheese and home fries. I added salsa. So filling. I ate HALF. Hubby had an omelet with cheese and bacon. And home fries. Amazing. Server was awesome. Everyone was great! Come EARthis food!!
Fun reminiscent diner! Really enjoyed our breakfast during our visit to the area!
Prospect MTN. Diner — conveniently staggering distance from our hotel — delivered absolute breakfast dominance: I went full warrior with eggs heroically draped over a mountain of corned beef, while my wife Linda chose golden, crispy waffles engineered for syrup excellence. Everything is homemade, on premises — not “Chef Mike the Microwave,” but real-deal, crack-the-eggs-at-dawn kind of homemade. The place has that classic vintage diner vibe, complete with those old-school jukeboxes right at the tables — they don’t actually work because apparently no one on Earth repairs them anymore — but they look fantastic, loaded with songs from back in the day like they’re just waiting for a quarter and 1978 to make a comeback. I left fueled for battle; my wife Linda left drizzled in joy and quietly superior.
Busy place, service was excellent. Our waitress was kind, helpful, and all around amazing! She deserves all the smiles in the world and a milkshake for breakfast. Great food portions, what we needed and tasted great.
food is great went there twice both times for breakfast. very affordable fast service. small establishment but the outside are helps fit more people. overall no wait in the mornings I went waiter are very nice.
Another stop and another great surprise. We had ear marked a place closer to the house but had decide to travel on as we went to Ausable. We found this place in lake George and we were not disappointed. We had a variety of items including eggs with ham and toast, hash and eggs, waffles and pancake. The pancakes were the biggest surprise to me as they had some cornmeal in there which made me think of good ol Johnny cakes. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and they were delicious. All of our food was delicious in fact. Our waitress Sara was very nice and attentive to us and we will be stopping again when we come back to the area. If you are looking for a quality breakfast that is not frilly but delicious, then you know where to go. Tell em Vin Vin sent you. I'm tryna see something. Deuecs, Vin Vin
Biscuit was a religious experience. Sausage patties were fabulous and generous. Home fries were perfect. Open face turkey sandwich was incredible. Gravy perfect. Fries perfect. Even the little extras like cranberry sauce and coleslaw were memorable. Service was fast and friendly.
It’s like stepping back in time. I’ve been going through Lake George since I was a child 50+ years ago and never stopped here because it was either closed or just too crowded. Worked out just right today, Colleen the waitress greeted me as I walked through the door Could not have been nicer and more patient with my thousand questions and she was a very efficient waitress, and Adirondack slam was just top notch
A traditional dinner in the Lake George area. Great food, great staff and a fun location. We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning in the off season. No wait and very fast service. The three of us had a veggie omelette, eggs and sausage, and a giant chocolate chip pancake! Always a great dinner and better in the off season!
Stopped here on the way home & had two wonderful breakfasts. We were so hungry I forgot to snap a picture when the food was first served! My boyfriend loved his pancakes & sausage while my eggs over easy were done to perfection! This stop was hopping at 12:00 with locals & visitors alike. The decor is that of another time when diners were abundant but this gem is wonderful with happy waitresses and everyone knew the locals by name! Kudos Stopped here Oct 3, they have some new operating hours/days closed but food was outstanding!
I have driven by for so many years. Today I decided to stop. It's a charming page from yesteryear. Service was great, and the food was super. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich and could only manage half. French friens could have been a bit crispier. I'm not sure if they serve dessert, my waiter brought the check over before asking if I'd be interested. Which was too bad.
We stopped at Prospect Mountain Diner for breakfast on Monday, August 11th, around 9 AM. We were a party of six (3 adults and 3 children) and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. The food was definitely worth the wait! It was delicious and reasonably priced for the area. We would highly recommend this diner for the food alone. The only real issue we noticed was with the staff seeming a bit disorganized. When we arrived, we asked the host outside for the first available table, but it seemed like there was a lack of communication with the host inside. There were at least two open tables we could have been seated at inside before we were finally seated outside. It also looked like there was some confusion among the waitstaff and food runners about which food went to which table. Despite these small hiccups with the service, the good food and fair prices made it a worthwhile visit. We would definitely come back for the food and hope the staff can get on the same page!
We stopped by this diner for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. The veggie omelet was fresh and flavorful, and the pancakes were fluffy and satisfying—definitely a highlight of the meal. The juice cups for kids were a thoughtful touch, and we appreciated that they provided a high chair, which made things easier for our little ones. Our main server was friendly and attentive, and the younger staff was decent, though they could work on being a bit more warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the experience was dampened when one staff member informed us that the kids’ cheese pizza was no longer available. The way it was communicated came off as rude and dismissive, which was disappointing, especially in a family-friendly setting. Overall, good food and mostly decent service, but the staff’s attitude in situations like this makes a big difference—a little kindness goes a long way.
I have been going to LG All my life. 3 times a summer/fall. Never had a bad experience until today, we always eat there with 5 stars. Today this new guy hostess. Rude and impolite. This door must must stay close. Ok um Please and thank you really, then he pulls it shut, you must wait outside, ok all nicely. Waitress was extremely nice. That guy though. Hope he’s not there next time. Everyone enjoy overall food is excellent
First time and last time.... Food is not great. Two small orange juice diluted with water at 9,99$?? I could get a 2 litres Tropicana for less then that!😳. Its a rip off.... 30$ plus tip. You ask for sausages and they give you two flat things who look like hamburger meat.... Thank god the service was very good. Mini juke-box on your table.....its for the show. Doesn't work.....
This diner was a huge rip off. The service was extremely slow. We never were able to get refills on drinks. The food was mediocre at best and to top it all off, we got the bill and were shocked. For the kids size juice, they charged us $5 alone. Each of the other kids got a milk and a lemonade which were just under that. When I asked about the price of the juice, the waiter told me it is actually a good deal because we get more than an adult size juice.
