Zig Zags Pub Lake Placid Reviews
Zig Zag’s was a great experience. Baylee was so kind and friendly to me and my party. 10/10 would go back so much fun love it there
Chris, Dave, Kaitlyn were the best. Such an awesome spot with great service and friendly staff.
Great drinks, friendly staff, and great classic rock soundtrack. The perfect post-ski vibe!
Kaitlyn is the bomb! I’ve never seen another bartender get it all done. Not one person is without a drink. People are not waiting or hearing from her, “Oh, I’m so busy and it’s only me” kind of nonsense. She even manages to talk to all of her patrons and carry a conversation, such a rarity.
Always go to Zig Zays when I'm in Lake Placid and want a late drink. Only bar open late and a solid dive. If you're expecting anything more, your expectations aren't based in reality. Grow up, relax, and have a drink at ZZP.
Best bar in Lake Placid. No comparison. Great energy, atmosphere, staff. Clean and fun. Touch tunes to play your own music. Dave is the best bartender west of the Mississippi. Pours a mean one. Silly goofy guy. You’ll find him in Wilmington!
Fun bar in downtown Lake Placid, street parking is scarce but there is a paid municipal lot. Plenty of seating and an ample bar we were able to find a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Good beer list with plenty of draft and cans to choose from. Bartender was very friendly. They even fill crowlers to-go! Will definitely be back
Very chill bar that fits perfectly in with the vibe of a ski town. From the photos and my experience, there are often friendly dogs here! Solid pool table and darts. Be sure to take a look at the old photos scattered around to bar. Great place to stop in for a few drinks or spend the whole night.
Similar to other reviews: this place is cool and Lake Placid is awesome. However some of the staff here and a couple local patrons were just rude for some reason. Bartender was sticking up for a girl he has probably been in love with for a decade (there was no actual issue) and then the girl out front seemed to be the owner’s daughter or something which apparently entitled her to a smug attitude she simply couldn’t be bothered to be nice to a customer because obviously new ones come every weekend. Oh well.
Extremely disappointed with the service my friend and I received here from the blonde tattooed bartender. We were both disrespected while ordering and paying. The bartender’s attitude was horrendous. We simply ordered a few drinks and she acted inconvenienced and annoyed. We closed our tab and that was also evidently an issue for her. My recommendation to the bar is have a staff that welcomes your tourist heavy customers.
This happened a few months prior, but The bartender was downright hateful towards folks who don’t speak English as a first language, and when reported to management, was told that they “don’t belong here” if they don’t speak English. I frequent the ADK often & was excited to show some foreign friends around. They speak perfect English with a German accent. I can’t imagine how people of color are treated.
I had a really disappointing experience here. An employee was openly rude and dismissive toward my friend, while treating other customers respectfully. The difference in how my friend was treated was uncomfortable and felt racially motivated. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected because of their race. Customer service like this is unacceptable, and I won’t be returning unless this is seriously addressed by management.
I’m sure it’s good on some days but the workers were incredibly rude to my partner and I. Felt uncomfortable here as an Asian person!
The bouncer (who was clearly afflicted with severe napoleon syndrome) refused to accept my girlfriend’s Drivers license or passport card (out of state from mass) she’s 24 and provided two legal government IDs. He still refused to serve us. It’s unfortunate to see someone so small in statue get so drunk off such little power. Will never be coming back to this establishment
The bouncer said he couldn’t accept my ID when I gave him my real ID and my passport card. I’m 24 years old.
Had to be DD during a celebration. Asked for water or even a pitcher just to make her job easier than pouring glasses, for myself and 8 in my party. Bartender said I have to buy bottled instead of serving straight tap for 8 of my companions. Charged me 27 dollars altogether for a diet coke and 8 bottles of water. Lesson learned, bring your own water.
Should have known better after reading some of these reviews but the staff was downright rude and disrespectful to my wife (we came to Lake Placid on our honeymoon). We had a decent time until it was time to pay when we asked for our bill. They rang it up through our credit card (which was to hold the bar tab so we didn’t have to pay cash every time we ordered a drink. We wanted to pay cash since they add a 4% premium if you pay with a card). They told us they couldn’t reverse the transaction but instead of explaining in an apologetic way, made it seem like our fault. The bartender raised her voice at us and told me “I’m sorry you have to go home with her” as my wife tried to explain to situation. Then she said “maybe you were overserved” in a context that didn’t really make a lot of sense, making me think she was over served herself, my wife only had maybe 3 beers. It ended with her yelling at us as we walked out. If you want friendly service, this isn’t the place. I can’t believe that a beautiful town like this would have an establishment that treats people this way, and it seems like we haven’t been the only ones with such a negative experience. With so many other bars around the town avoid any potential conflicts or potential harassment and head elsewhere.
