La Unica Laredo Reviews
The customer service in this restaurant is awesome! The server came to our table right away and was attentive the whole time!! We waited for our food max 10 mins! I've never had food at a sit down restaurant come out so quick!! Me and my husband got an order of flautas and an order of tostadas, super good!! And the best part is... UNLIMITED CREMA!!!!
Great straightforward service pretty much only 2 things on the menu. Tasted the same exact same from when I was taken as a kid except with drink refills now! Can't go wrong having lunch here with quick service and and the food coming to the table even quicker
Flautas and Tostadas Only. Good flavor and very well prepared. Closed on Mondays.
Thise who know this place, know that the good will b good. New people, the menu is very small, only tostadas or flautas de ternera and a sopita de fideo. But it's a good little Mexican restaurant you wouldn't want to miss.
Best "flautas" you'll ever taste. The same traditional menu passed on from generations. Originally established on the Mexican side, La Unica has now been in operation in Laredo for many years. You come to La Unica not for a fancy atmosphere, but for the delightful "flautas."
The hot sauce was hotter than usual and the queso was much better as well. And it wasn't bad before. Everything awesome! Best flautas in town. No question. UPDATE 04.21.2024 Still great. They got our order mixed up a bit. Brought stuff we didn't order. No harm. Restroom area could use a remodel.
I have been visiting La Unica for the last 13 years on my visits to Laredo or the Valley. I plan my trip as to get to Laredo when they are open. They have the tastiest flautas and tostadas I've had. Totally worth the trip and staff super friendly and polite.
For a menu of less than 5ish items, the food was pretty good. Tostadas were yummy! Flautas were so crispy. Service was sweet and swift. Worth it to check it out.
When we would visit my grandparents south-of-the-border, they would take us to the original location. Back then, it was safer to travel there. Now, this gem opened for business. It's not fancy, nor do they offer fountain drinks. But, the best places are these hole-in-the-wall joints are the best. The old place offered 6 flautas to an order. This place offers 4 to an order.
Great food and good service. Family owned and operated, original family restaurant from Nuevo Laredo (Mex). I bring friends and family who visit to this place, cant go wrong. Tostadas and flautas are their main items available, limited menu - makes them experts at what they do . Second location near Shiloh.
Great food , simple and fast menu! 10/10 recommend the fideo loco!
The only serve two dishes, flutas and tostadas. This flautas has made this establishment popular among the people. Very uniquely prepared, unlike others. Try them, you wouldn't be disappointed.
Got the mix plate. The tostadaa were great, but the flautas were a tad bit oily. Nonetheless, they were good. They have good beans and an awesome red salsa to accompany the food.
The forgot to give us salsa, crema, and limón. The fideo was not so good, the beans were grainy and the caldo was missing something. And when I asked if they can bring me some crema they never did. Prices are definitely not reasonable if you would like to have good Mexican food with reasonable prices and better quality in food and atmosphere go to bolillos or Nuevo Laredo.
It's dirty, it's dark. The place is falling apart and the food is disgusting. If you want flautas go somewhere else. The plates taste like they use the same all for days before changing it. And the service is abysmal as well. It's difficult to find someone to get you a refill on your drink. It boggles the mind as to why this place has such a high rating on Google. It just goes to show how complacent people are here, which allows businesses to be able to sell us trash. Ask for more for your money. Things aren't getting cheaper, but restaurants are getting worse and more expensive.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced.😞 We arrived at a little after 4:00pm and they close at 5:00pm. As soon as we walked in, the employees gave us faces and when we asked for a menu the server replied with "Nomas mira las fotos". When another employee tried to give us menus, our server gave him a signal to take them back. He waited there with an angry face and so we got up and left. Another family walked out right after us with the same complaint.
For the amount of food served it is Way Over priced!! No menu Sodas are $3.00 not included in the meal. Meal is $10.00 which the price is not shown or told to you. Teaspoon of refried beans and pickled jalapeños and the main course 4 skinny flautas.
