My husband and I stopped in yesterday for a beer and we were pleasantly surprised! The bartender on shift was awesome (2-4:30ish) on a Thursday, bar was immaculate, and a great variety of beers to choose from AND the bartender was knowledgable. We will for sure be back during Siena college parents weekend :)

Good handicap access. Up side walk ramp. Good amount of craft beer on tap. I went early, so kitchen wasn't open. But got to talk to owner, very nice person. Try it you'll like it.

Lively place with a great crowd. We went for a quick bite in the evening but ended up spending more than couple of hours. They have a nice trivia night going every Tuesday evening.

The food was great, very good, Jordan does a great job in the kitchen cooking, also the beer was super, so many kinds and the waitress picked the right one for me, a nice light beer.

unique beer collection on their taps , service was excellent, food was epic with Indian Mediterranean and American fusion.Chef knows how to add flavor to the food. They have variety of can selection too.

Nice atmosphere, very clean. Limited menu but good. We like IPA's, they only had one. We definitely stop in again though!

I love trying local beer places when I travel and this place set the bar. The owner, Rory, was so friendly and personable. The beer, food and cocktails were absolutely delicious.

The beer selection was great! We had the cauliflower appetizer which was fantastic and certainly more unique than most other restaurants' dishes.

Stopped in for a quick one yesterday, I opted for a SingleCut IPA. Everyone there was very nice and engaging, willing to answer questions about any of the beers on tap or the huge selection in the back. Cool joint with very nice people.

Great environment, and they have a large cooler of hand crafted beers and IPA'S you buy in a mix and match format and carry out it doesn't get better then that!!

Everything about the food is unique. Even for simple things like the cut and grind of the meat for the burgers. Highly recommend. I will be back for sure.

Come here almost weekly. Excellent beer selection and very rare to find the same 2 kegs. Always unique. The food is outstanding for a limited kitchen. Unique dishes and quality ingredients. Don’t expect bar food here.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome! Cool, relaxed vibe with good music in the background. Top notch food on a rotating menu. (The short rib meatballs are a must-have) Great cocktails and, of course, amazing selection of beers. Even after drinks and dinner, I ordered another meal just to take home.

Nice local spot to get some harder to find beers and pubfood.

L

Had the porter as recommended by the bartender. Amazing. But knocked out of the park by the food. Best tomato bisque with chevre ever. And the Banh Mih sandwich, although small was fantastic. Steak fries also killer. Must go back again to try more of the selections. Beer prices were very fair. A hidden gem in a small strip mall.

Always a wonderful selection of rotating craft beers on tap. Food is always beyond expectations. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is relaxed and personal. Especially during hard Covid times, everything is always clean, and all guidelines are followed. My Go-to place to stop for a quick, or not so quick, beer and snack.

Great spot. Was there with the mamanging owner and we talked for 30 minutes. He knows his beer and really has a great vision. I'd highly recommend this place as a hang out spot. It's open enough to move around. Plenty of room. Love the darts and golf simulation. Prices are fine, selection great. This place should be around for a while.

Been here a few times and the staff has always been friendly and made some really great recommendations. Great selection of single can beers and a rotating draft list that always seems to have something worth trying. The place itself is cozy with plenty of seating and TV's and is very clean. Plus trivia on Tuesdays is always a blast!

Nice selection on tap. Staff was cool, knowledgeable and friendly. Tried the food as well and its delicious. I'd go here just for the appetizers, haha. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't been.

Excellent craft beer bar!!! We stopped here by chance, traveling from out of state to see a Metallica concert...so glad we did!! Great atmosphere with 16 beers on tap!! Very cool decor and super clean. Rory was extremely knowledgeable, very welcoming and friendly. A really great place, highly recommend!!!

This place is great. Awesome beer selection and gets some of the really great local brews. Pretzel and other snacks are perfection for an afternoon of drinking. Overall just an excellent vibe with super friendly staff - AND they have Golden Tee!!!

I love this place. We got in when it was a bit slow and were able to have quiet conversation until around 8:30. Then the crowd comes in and the music goes up a bit. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was really good!

O

These guys are great! Personable, knowledgeable and fair. The space feels a little weird at first with it's large storefront windows in front, but once you're in you quickly forget about the Starbucks & TCBY next door, the tiled floors and the hard surfaces. You instead embrace the lack of obnoxious music, the stack of table games, the fun group playable arcade games and the impressive selection of beers.

Great new bar. Owner is cool, menu fits the venue. Good beer selection. And good cold beer in fridge to go. Have to try the food sometime, but beer selection and atmosphere are spot on.

Excellent taproom. Great selection of rotating taps from some great local craft breweries, not at all what you’d typically find at any old bar. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is super nice and will happily provide a recommendation if you’re not sure what to get. Will come here whenever I swing through Latham.

I have visited Beer Bones on several occasions and have had a wonderful experience each and every time. A variety of beer options are offered on draft and rotated regularly. Also, if you don't see something you want on tap the coolers are stocked with all sorts of craft beer options with lots of regional selections for all tastes. Food offerings are growing here as well including pretzels, quesadillas and sausage/brat - all have been really good.

S

I’ve had a ton of food on the menu here, and everything we order is beyond our expectations. This is one of tour favorite restaurants/bars in Latham. Amazing drinks, great prices, and phenomenal service. The best bar in the Albany area!

It's easy to spend hours here. Lots of thought put into the beer list and beer fridges. Tons of different beer and cocktail choices. Food is low key awesome and high quality. Nice just posting up at the bar and chatting. Stop on by!

Me and a friend of mine went here so he could do a burger review. I got the shrimp quesadilla and he got his burger. I can say that the food there was really well prepared and tasty. The staff was attentive and the selections of drinks was decent. Would definitely go back again.

Awesome place. Nice selection of local and regional craft beers on draft. Lots of cans and bottles available too, priced to go, $2 corkage fee if drinking in house. Some classics available too like Saison Dupont and Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. Menu is simple but very nice. Grown Up Grilled Cheese is cheddar and pepper jack on challah, nicely done. The oversized German pretzel was served with cheese sauce and coarse mustard, totally awesome. Lots of other great choices. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and made great conversation. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Stop in soon and check Beer Bones out!

Definitely a hidden gem! Alexis our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction! We had hot wings (crispy, sauce), and the blue cheese sauce was great. Honey and I visited for lunch post holiday. Our bartender was engaging, knowledgeable, and very efficient. I tried a drink special, Gingerbread Martini. I don't ordinarily order such drinks, and it was delicious. Honey ordered Hot Honey Pizza which was declared excellent. I ordered a lunch special, seared sesame tuna over seaweed salad. I couldn't stop saying "oh my God "! Next trip back to Albany will definitely include a visit.

They do it right. Food is excellent. You wouldn't think so at first glance but don't let the name fool you. I've had several meals and all were consistently excellent. Get the wedge salad with crispy romaine and dressing that is so good you'll want to order the dressing to take home. Chef is excellent and adds his own personal touch to everything on the rotating menu. Atmosphere is very relaxed, with some TVs behind the bar. Drinks are finely crafted, beer too. It's a bit eclectic with a great atmosphere too. Unique. Overall concept is pretty cool. It's one of my new "go to" places in the area.

Mattie was a great bartender! Fantastic beer and great Cosmopolitans!!! Justin is a great cook! Beer cheese and pretzels, French Onion soup(fab!), pulled pork sandwich and seared tuna with seaweed salad and ponzu sauce to die for!!! Highly recommend!!!

Great food (GREAT FOOD!). If nothing else try the Chick N Hots (A little heat, but not spicy) and the beer cheese pretzels. Great rotating beer list, and if you're still undecided they have coolers stocked with a wide variety of cans. Always welcoming, and there's board games! Very clean bathrooms as well

We shared our special place with some friends. Beer Bones did not disappoint. The Beer is carefully picked by the owner and each one is high quality and very enjoyable. The food is exceptional, pub food with an eclectic twist. Hats off to the chef! Definitely try this place tonight!

R

My wife and I recently bought a house in the area. We visited Beer Bones after we heard they had hired a new chef and saw their new food menu. The beer selection is great, and the food was incredibly delicious. Special mention for the chicken wings. They had more flavor than any other wing I’ve ever had. The rest of the meal was just as good. The quality and flavor of the food guarantees we will be back again and again.

We enjoyed this venue. We managed to get the last table around 830 on a friday night. All of the waitstaff was super friendly and helpful. The beers and drinks were very good. Our food was amazing. Our daughter really liked the sandwich we got her for takeout as well.

Yup. This place absolutely justified having THE WINGS be its own menu called THE WINGS. Wow. Stupid-good. Like, maybe the best I’ve ever had. The burgers are absolutely solid 1/2lb pub burgers. In this world of growing stacked smash-burgers and thin patties, sometimes you find yourself wanting a big old pub burger. Also, they have so many different styles of fries! And they’re all great! We’re gonna try to make our way through the menu over the next couple years, because what a treat! We sat on checking this place out for years, and all I can say is that we’re kicking ourselves for all the wasted time! Now we know! Also, the staff was perhaps the most pleasant and friendly and helpful we’ve ever had. So many beers! Great stuff, will have to try some cocktails next time. Big ol bar with ample counter space and hooks for coats and bags too. A++ experience.

THE wings 🤤. There's a reason they labeled them "The Wings" instead of Ruined all future wings for me. Absolutely nothing beats these wings or their variety of FANTASTIC and unique sauces. Personal sauce favorites so far (as a person that could eat wings every single day of her life) - 1. The Goat (Lemon Pepper w/ Garlic Parm) 🤤🤤 2. The Dizzy (Moonshine w/ Melba). 🤤 My partner's personal favorites so far (as a guy that typically only prefers classic Buffalo sauce) - 1. Bleu Moon (Blue cheese dressing w/ Moonshine) His favorite "by a landslide." 2. My Boy Bleu (Blue cheese dressing w/ Mild)

Really nice atmosphere and excellent food. Had wings for myself, and my wife had the Rachel, and both were top notch. Everything came out quick, and we had no complaints. The only thing we wondered at was why there wasn’t another server helping out. From what we saw, there was only one waitress working with multiple tables and people at the bar. She was incredible, but it seemed to be asking a lot of a single person to cover everything. Other than that, no criticisms. Great place, and we’ll definitely go back.

Went to Beer Bones Taproom for some drinks and dinner and was genuinely blown away by the quality of the food and drinks. My boyfriend knows way more about beer than I do and loved the menu. I ordered an old fashioned which was perfection. But check out these sandwiches. The first was a tuna steak sandwich with wasabi and veggies. The tuna was cooked to perfection. My sandwich was a portobello with peppers and chevre. The chef shared that the kitchen is undergoing some changes so the menu is limited to appetizers, salads, and burgers/sandwiches but he should be adding more soon. Definitely going back.

I found this joint after looking for a cool post-work happy hr spot. Beer selection was on point, craved a Gose and luckily they had a tasty one on tap. For food I had the Chicken n Hots (Kelly’s rec) and it was BANGIN. Both the food and beer were top notch, not to mention reasonably priced.

I live in Austin but have visited Beer Bones just about every trip back East for several years, including last night. This is one of those spots I am delighted survived the pandemic shutdowns, and even better, has thrived and improved. The draft beer list and atmosphere is still solid, the 16 or so taps well-curated, and the cooler full of local and regional favorites in cans and bottles for onsite or takeaway consumption. But the menu is much bigger, much better, and much more adventurous. This is not just simple pub grub! Example? My choice of Pork OssoBucco on the bone that was fork tender, juicy and flavorful, perfectly seasoned over homemade mashed potatoes., Companions ordered a classic Lobster Roll that looked perfect, and Shrimp Tacos that were delicious as well. They've added grilled salmon, several burgers and sandwiches and expanded the starters as well. It can get a bit noisy, with tile walls, concrete floors and a spirited crowd, but nothing too challenging. Fast friendly service too, with knowledgeable beertenders behind the bar. Tucked in a somewhat nondescript strip of stores, this gem might be easy to miss, but is well worth seeking out.

Place has a great beer selection from all over, and the food is on point. Plus a nice outdoor seating area in the back makes this place a no brainer. If you go with someone not into beer, there is a full bar.

Love Beer Bones! Love the rotating menu of draft beer from local breweries. If you can't find something there you like, there is also a large selection of canned beers. The menu is so unique and has a little bit of everything. One of our staples is the Chicken N Hots. Just the right amount of heat and so delicious! I recently tried the mojito watermelon salad and was not disappointed. The service is great too; Always very friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend.

It was my friend and I first time attending this establishment and we both agree that this is an underrated very nice secret spot 👍. We drive by it all the time and the look of it from outside just draws the interest of any passerby. They mainly specialize in beers and have sixteen different drafts on tap which changes approximately every week or so. Nick was our bartender and he was truly amazing. Thank you Nick! We will definitely be coming back. He spun us up on the history of the establishment with how far in which it came from. June is their anniversary party and this year will be four years. The establishment is very clean, spacious and has a very nice interior design. They also have beers for sale in cans. It is a nice spot to sit and socialize or even grab a bite to eat! By far one of the best far foods I've seen. Their menu is quite diverse and the presentation of some of the different foods speaks volume. (Couldn't take pics of other people's food). We ordered thr birria Tacos and they were amazing 🌮 😋. There is also a patio outback in which you can go eat, drink and socialize. One thing I found interesting is that they have gold plates on the wall with the engravings of customers names who completed the 100 beer challenge. If you drink 100 different beers in the span of a year, you can get your name engraved on a gold plate and placed on the wall. Pretty cool of you ask me. My friend started and only 97 more to go! 🍻

I truly enjoy what they have going on here. There is a great selection of craft beer on tap and in their coolers. I purchased two 16oz beers $7 each and a crowler to go for $17. The atmosphere is really modern and the establishment is very clean. The customer service is great and they have some cool events there on the schedule. I pass this place every day coming home from work. I may have to make it a staple to stop in more frequently 🍻

Great atmosphere and service. Food was really good. Cuban was huge and pork was cooked in house, ton of cheese. Clam chowder was unique as it has a vinegary tang (mustard?). Still good. Beer was so-so for our palates.

Tucked into a strip mall/plaza, this place offers good stout options and yummy brick oven pizza. Also love the burrata appetizer. The place is never full, and I’ve gone early afternoon and evening. Had some chats with the chef and bartender, both seem great. I e noticed some patrons come in just to access the beer in the cooler in the back to take home.

Went for trivia, small place but great service, atmosphere, and food! Meatloaf was one of the best I've had, and that gravy was amazing, full of flavor other than just salt and pepper! The caprese chicken sandwich was good, pickles not so much. The beer selection was great and the staff was working hard and very attentive with how busy it was!

Come here for convenience after work... Tried it about 5 times... Each time it's slow service, servers stuck in conversations Rather than focusing on your next drink etc etc... Kitchen changed up and food did too so it fell off for me.. guess if you really can Wait and accept whatever they have it's good to go

Cool place but they appeared to be understaffed the night I was there. Food was slow to come out and the only way to get drinks was to go to the bartender who was very nice but overworked

O
Owen Barnes

Not sure when it happened, but the craft beer emphasis is gone. All the taps are standard issue sports bar stuff and everything in the cooler was stuff one can get on gas station or grocery store shelves. Nothing wrong with classic beers or anything, but I went in hoping for something new and interesting. No longer a thing it seems.

First time trying Beer Bones and unfortunately we won't be back. Starting with positives, the place is CLEAN! No dust or grime in sight. Dim lighting with casual seating and somewhat busy for a Thursday night. Very cozy even with board games available. The server was also attentive and polite and knowledgeable. I didnt know what drink I wanted but I described what I liked and he found me the perfect beer. Also kept us with us regularly throughout the night while busy. A great server and bartender. The food is where things went wrong. We ordered the appetizer pretzel with beer cheese and my fiancé got a Beer Bones Cheesesteak which he enjoyed except for the small portions and maybe a bit more cheese. I got the bacon bleu cheese burger and both entrees came with what tasted like tostito chips straight out of the bag. The burger had one strip of bacon with a bleu cheese sauce that had zero essence of bleu cheese. It was also kind of cold and soaked entirely in grease which is normally great for burgers. Except this grease had an aura of frozen patty. The cheesesteak was finished because it was only half a hoagie and lightly loaded, reportedly passable flavor but small portion. The pretzels were good and the beer cheese was flavorful but lightly mixed and needed a little help fully melding. I took a few bites of the burger but admittedly couldn't finish it to the point we didnt need to go boxes. My fiancé also got sick the next day at work so take that as you will. All in all the atmosphere, servers and options are on point especially with the bar. The kitchen needs a little help with execution. Fantastic place to drink and hangout, not a great dinner date.

Meh! Not what we hoped or expected based on the reviews. Waitress recommended the Chicken quesadilla which had 3 shreds of chicken in each slice, sauce too hot & when asked for sour cream to put the fire out, was told we don’t serve sour cream with that. Ok, can I still have sour cream. No we don’t have any. With a quesadilla no guacamole or sour cream? Basically a grilled cheese quesadilla. Lobster roll very good but roasted potatoes day old. Told the waitress but she didn’t seem to care too much. Maybe that’s why she never came over to check on us & see how our meals were. We won’t be back. Not memorable. Meh!

Box store burger with hard Grisel served with a side of hair- not worth the money in my opinion. No Gf, vegan options.

I was bamboozled. Do not be deceived by the ratings! The food Gods were on our side this time. After we placed our appetizer orders, he never came back to take our dinner order. Thankfully, we were only stuck with fear factoring our appetizers. The food was revolting and the service was subpar. Two stars, solely because a patron had a cute dog with them. Don’t do it.

I write this review with a heavy heart because my first experience with Beer bones was really great. The first time I came was during off hours where there were maybe only 8 people in the bar including my group of four. Food and beer and customer service was on point so obviously me and my friends were really excited to come back during for trivia on Tuesday. My second experience started off great. Food and beer was great again and we were doing really well in trivia (which is rare). We won the second round and got a koozie and stickers. The prize for the 3rd round was supposed to be glassware (just 1 glass) and somehow we won! So we were really excited. But when we went to pick up the glassware, we were told by the trivia host that the owner said we won too many rounds and can't have the glass. Then the team that won after us, got a bucket of beers AND the glassware. We were very disheartened after this. After doing poorly the next two rounds, the trivia host even said "how the mighty has fallen" in regards to us which disheartened us even more. We were able to get back up to third place at the end but was unable to enjoy the comeback due to how we were treated. I wish I can just let this go and be able to enjoy this bar again, but I don't think I can go back without thinking about how hurt I felt during my second experience. I will not be going back because of this experience. I only hope that the owner can grow from this and become a bit more fair or at least get on the same page as the trivia host on when to give out prizes.

We have been there twice prior and the food was outstanding, gourmet and delicious. This time we got the appetizer tacos and greens and we were sooooo dissatisfied. Drinks, atmosphere and service were great but those alone tanked it- hard. No, we didn't send them back because we are aware of food costs of waste but We hope when my boyfriend and I go back beer bones' food will be back on a winning streak.

The service was very blah.taking there time was an understatement. The young lady serving us while nice was very underwhelming. She seemed to want to have nothing to do with us. Food came out very slow but good quality. Beer selection was great.high top for a party of 10 was ok except for the very underwhelming ability to cater to children or my toddler. Overall great food brought out slow, great beer served slow and service that lacked major quality in personable service. Meh.

Beer bones is a shell of what made it great. It went from a great Craft Beer location with awesome food to your average sports bar with okay food. Beer Bones was always a special place for us as we were there when it first opened. We always loved the vibe now it's just your average bar nothing remarkable has the same 10 beers on tap that everywhere else has. RIP OG Beer Bones Taproom.

I never like to leave negative reviews, however, I feel it’s my obligation to steer people in the right direction. Beer Bones is certainly not the right direction. The only reason I’m granting 2 stars is because of the mediocre rotating draft list which is heavily IPA weighted. The food, which is highly priced, I would not consider eating again if I was paid. The chicken sandwich was overly breaded with a soaking bun and oversized thinly cut chicken breast. The burger was drowned in Dijon Mustard and falling apart; lacking any cohesive qualities (as depicted in the photo). The restaurant itself filled with thick and oily smoke from the kitchen only after prepping 3 dishes (served to my table). More than likely the smoke is from an unclean and improperly vented kitchen, as the staff members went without being phased from the smoke. Easily in my top 3 worst dining experiences.

Approached the bar and the owner looked at me blankly. I asked to see a menu and he said "It's up on the screen" then walked away. Didn't exactly scream "friendly". Menu isn't anything special, not anything you can't get at every other bar in Albany anyway. The pretzel gets 5 stars. Google doesn't allow me to rate the pretzel though, fix it.

Water was great! Pizza was bad. Waited an hour for appetizers and our meal.

I stopped into this establishment this evening and grabbed a beer out of the cooler and sat down at the bar to enjoy it. I was expecting to spend about $5 but was told mid way through that it was a $7 beer due to the $2 corkage fee. It's been over a year since I purchased a beer out of the cooler and was taken by the price and made a comment to the bartender that it seemed excessive and don't ever remember paying a corkage fee. Another patron that is a permanent fixture at the bar said that this has been the policy ever since they opened. I recognized him from the last time I frequented this establishment about a year ago and was polite to him as I always am. Anyhow I complained a little bit to both him and the bartender but did not think much of it. I asked if the owners name was Murray and they laughed and said that it was, but refused to tell me his real name and I just took that in stride. When the owner did show up I could see him talking to them and he approached me and asked me to leave because he said "I was complaining to the staff and the patrons that the price of my beer was too much". I laughed and said that's true and I mentioned that I don't ever remember paying a corkage fee. He said that it was built into the price and I probably never realized it. He said that the beer was on the house but insisted that I leave. I was going to tell him that I sat there waiting for a menu for 20 minutes which was never provided but I just said that it was wrong of him to ask me to leave before talking to me about things and based on the fact that I complained about the price of a beer. I felt unwelcome and insisted on paying my tab. It turned out that the $7 beer I was quoted was actually $8.99. The Owner who's real name was Rory offered to adjust the tab but I paid it and left after telling him him my opinion of his mistreatment of the situation. This seemed intentional and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone I know personally.

Unfortunately I didn’t take photos but this was definitely in the running for one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years. The place was far from packed but service was far from attentive. Tap list was fine but INCREDIBLY overpriced (and I don’t mind paying for my beers if it’s justified). I ordered the Bahn mi. The bun was weirdly wet on the outside?! The pork belly was 80% fat with tough grey meat and was just completely soaked with bbq sauce which wasn’t really fitting. We also ordered one of the burgers. It was made with what seemed like a chili grind blend of meat. It was studded with chunks of fat and unfortunately immediately fell apart. I never complain at restaurants but I most likely would have sent both items back if the bartender/ server had checked on us at all. Normally I give places a second shot but I don’t really think that our experience would improve with another visit. Unfortunate because we are close and this place could be great with a bit more effort.

Doesn’t work when they say they’re open on Google and you get there and they’re closed tighter than a drum. What, the bartender wanted to close early? We’re here at 6:30 PM, Google says it closes at 8 PM. We can see people inside, but they’re closed.
