This is my first visit, and if I were to describe it, I would say it's similar to "The Lunch Box" without the sarcastic wait staff

Passing through town and found this hole in the wall diner. It was literally a hole in the wall of the convenience store/gas station. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, reasonably priced and had a very hallmark-y, small town atmosphere.

Very friendly your neighborhood diner! We went here for light breakfast before catching the bus to Boston, and it was the right choice! Will say, limited vegetarian options for breakfast, unless you ask for it! Recommend For: Breakfast and Brunch, 24/7 Food, Comfort Food, Big Portion Egg Benedict: Very solid egg Benedict. Homeside sauce was very delicious and nicely done porched egg. If you like Ham, plenty of ham for you! Big portion for small people. Western Scrambler: I prefer vegetarian dishes, so I switched out ham with tomatoes, and it was perfect. Comfy big scramble for good breakfast. This restaurant is hidden inside the convenient store. If you are here for the first time, come inside the convenient store and look for the sign The Fort near restroom!

Make it a point to find the Fort Restaurant, hiding in the back of a Jiffy gas station/Exit 18 Truckstop. You are in for a treat! The food is great; try a cheeseburger special w/bacon and the Onion Rings are to die for. I have left the Best for last. Trust me, ask for Angela!! She could fit right in at the largest truckstop in the World , Iowa 80. You must visit both. Some locals say this is their favorite place to eat. Sit at the counter if you’re alone? A great place to stop after visiting Dartmouth Hitcock hospital.

The food was soooooo good I hade a cheeseburger with bacon and it was not only super good but big the bathroom was the dirtiest bathroom for a restaurant but over all it was great 👍🏼

I've been coming here since before it was Fort Lou's. I don't get back often, but had a good lunch with my dad, and my brother, who both chose The Fort. My food was excellent both times. And the servers were great, and they have nice taste in music. And they have orange marmalade for your toast. Which I love.

It's been quite a few years since I set foot in this restaurant and I have to say the food is still downright satisfying. Let the cooks know they do a damn fine medium steak and those home fries were perfectly crispy. And the attention to detail the staff has is remarkable.

A true diner (from a genX pov). This was my first time there but if I lived closer, this would be the place I would visit a few times per week. Hard to describe the atmosphere. If you grew up with a diner being an integral part of your life, you'd understand.

Excellent food. Great service. Fantastic coffee. Booths seating or great old fashion stool seating at counter. I do not run up this way much...but if I do come back I Will Eat here. Open 24 hours. Truck parking. Freightliner service next door. Motels near by. Nice people.

Be careful what you order! I ordered 3 pcs. chicken tenders with onion rings. The orders are huge! Every time I visit, I make a point of eating here. The food is great! The place gets full, and the waitresses are fast and courteous. It's definitely the best truck stop I've been to.

Right off I89 in Lebanon, NH at the Route 120 exit is a hidden gem of a restaurant, The Fort. Enter via the Irving gas station and convenience store through a door that leads to The Fort. Excellent food, hearty portions, helpful staff, and huge bakery items for the ride home. You will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful breakfast at The Fort on my was home from a business trip. A great place just off the highway with a friendly server. The biscuits used in the biscuits and grass were exceptionally good. Quite delicious and a nice find, happy to recommend this location.

Holy diner heaven Batman, this place has the food you need! Yes it is a truck stop diner located inside a gas station convenience store with views of the parking lot.... but once you snobs get over that this is the best dang bang for your buck in town. Cute little dining room with seating for probably 100 or so between tables and bar seating. They have a great selection of local bakery goods including homemade pies, large muffins, monstrously huge cookies and whoopie pies, and large donuts. We were seated quickly, our server was super friendly and always checking in on us, and the food was large portions and delicious. Large menu, nothing super fancy, but serving up delicious made-to-order food to get you through the day. The cruller donuts (2) French toast could feed 2 people and is one of the best breakfasts I have had. Spouse had an omelette which was probably 6 eggs and could have fed 2 people also. Lots of friendly locals, light background of country music on the radio, and we were in and out in one hour. We will DEFINITELY be back, don't miss it.

Oh my, just wonderful!! Stopped here for dinner, but had breakfast because if a place serves breakfast all day it’s probably just that good! I randomly had the oatmeal (complete with milk, brown sugar, and raisins) and a waffle with real maple syrup. Both delicious! Hubs had the lumberjack and it was all perfect. Lemonade is great. But even better than all that was the service - our server was working alone and was hopping. And she had the friendliest demeanor and personality!!

Order the Cruller French Toast and your taste buds will thank you! So amazing!! It is very sweet so I was thankful my friend was willing to split this and an omelet with me. We did have some issues with ordering the omelet and had to send it back a few times. Our final product the eggs were too 'fluffy' (aka too much water added). Our server was very friendly and helpful.

Sweet tea was perfect even had lemon. Got steak and eggs with sourdough, lots of food. Much better than Dennys like most truck stops have. The brownie on the way out was a solid choice, very moist and not too sweet.

This is a truck stop. I don't normally review truck stops but the experience was very interesting - plus this is the home of giant pastry! I enjoyed watching the interactions between the wait staff and the regulars. Many were senior couples; I don't think they were carrying CDLs. Seems unlikely they had ever seen a tractor 🚛 cab, let alone operate one. They were there for community and some breakfast. I came successive mornings with my brother, who did have a CDL, and stuck with breakfast. Nothing fancy here. Coffee in a heavy white mug. Eggs as you want. Sour dough toast is about as extravagant as it gets. I love the familiarity and the approachability of the staff in places like this. Watching them work when busy is like watching spontaneous choreographed dance, an ode to efficiency. It's a pleasure to witness, and enhances the overall experience. Did I mention they have the most giant pastries imaginable!!!

When we walked in to The Fort diner, they were playing Bocephus (Hank Williams, Jr.) , and now they’re playing Patsy Cline and maybe that’s at least half of the charm of this diner-inside a gas station, here. But first, when you drive in, you will never think there is a restaurant here! And once you walk in, you definitely think you misunderstood the term, “restaurant.” But keep walking to the back and towards the right, and you’ll find a door that opens up to a whole, charming, old-fashioned slice of historic Lebanon country restaurant. You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner here, and breakfast is served all day. So, unless you are looking for 24-hour breakfast at Denny’s, this is the most awesome homestyle diner to eat at up through 6:30pm-ish (it clears out by 7:45 i think). There is a lot of charm to be had, here, including friendly waitresses and cantankerously-charming cooks. And did I mention that I loved the vintage country music?! :) There is a narrow U-shaped counter here with a fair amount of seating. Our server was fast and friendly. We really enjoyed it when one of the cooks came out who has just the right amount of self-depricating humor if you dare to banter with him. The hot cakes and biscuits are cooked on a real cast-iron griddle, here, and you can taste that flavor and how good it is. The biscuits are like nothing I’ve seen: cast iron grilled corn meal and wheat maybe? Not sure. They look like hamburger buns but have the mouth feel of a nice, firm cornbread - though not as sweet. Our biscuit was overcooked but if I get back there, next time I’ll ask for it toasted light. (You might ask for your hot cakes cooked light, as well, because one of those came out dark.) This biscuit did have a good and unique flavor. We got a double side of mashed potatoes and gravy as an appetizer and it was delicious! They have an almost-whipped but definitely substantial feel, yet also firm and so buttery. Very good! You can tell the cooks put a lot of work into this food and that comes across in the flavors. We ordered a breakfast called the Lumberjack and it was gigantic! 2 eggs,3 slices of fresh, crispy bacon, big sausage patties, 2 gigantic slices of rye toast and well-seasoned potatoes. There was a very subtle taste of garlic seasoning and i loved it! The bacon was my favorite: very flavorful - oversized and light in flavor - vs. some of the real country bacon I’ve tasted a few times around here. Their sweet tea is good! It tastes like the homemade version of what Country Time Lemonade was modeled after. Their 2 dessert cases definitely serve up some tasty treats: homemade muffins, cruellers, donuts, pies, oversized brownies and gigantic coconut squares (chocolate chips, coconut slivers, Oreo cookies and tons of other sweet goodies layered in). You can order 3 different types of pie slices for the same price of a half of a pie. We ordered: 1. Coconut Custard: sweet, coconut throughout the custard, with even sweeter whipped cream 2. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie: smooth and sweet peanut butter filling with a very present flavor of Hershey’s syrup. This is good and tastes like flavors i haven’t enjoyed for decades. You will not find this anywhere else. 3. Cherry Pie: perfectly tart, round and plump mostly whole cherries with a sweet sauce. I love that the cherries aren’t over-baked drowning in a sea of sauce in pieces and half sizes. The pie crust is thick and buttery. Order to go by 7:30 at the latest. Or be seated by 6:30 latest because when they close at 8, customers are leaving by 7:45pm.

Went to breakfast here with my brother. We both ordered omelettes toast and home fries with onions home fries came out without onions not a big deal waitress corrected it.. we ate our breakfast about halfway through waitress brought the bill and that’s the last we saw the waitress. 15 minutes later another waitress was talking with somebody at the register had been for about five minutes when I approached and asked for service. The waitress said I’m sorry I didn’t even see you come in. I said that’s because we are done eating and would like to go boxes and I’ll be able to pay our bill. From the time our bill was brought to the table till the time we were actually able to cash out and leave was 22 minutes and I know this because I sent a message to somebody when I was done eating and sent another message to the same person just before we paid our bill while we were waiting in line. And when I say line besides us, there was only three other people in the entire restaurant. Food was great service was lousy.

I want to start by saying the staff is great and the food is usually really good. Recently, though, the food has been going downhill. Today, I went, and the fries were not even partially cooked—just raw on the inside and hot on the outside. The burger was not cooked to medium, and the time before that, I got the wettest cheesesteak I've ever had, and it was not really good. I've had both of these things from here before, and in the past, they were really good, but something has changed recently.

I feel like I got rip for a donut. They charge me $4.95 plus 0.42 tax total of $5.37 for they call a fancy donut. It wasnt worth for that price at all. No wonder why there are no prices for those bake goods that was displayed. They are ridiculously expensive. Oh well not going there anymore
