Da Angy Lodi Reviews
Delicious food. Different flavor to the dishes I'm used to, but good. Owwners wife was our waitress. She was awesome. We could tell family was very important to her. HIGHLY recommend everybody to try this place. Thumbs up!!!!
As usual, delightful. Margarita with balanced sweetest and alcohol ratio. Not too hot salsa served with your chips. Cute and charming outdoor dinning area with music - both traditional and contemporary (Spanish). In-door dinning is cute and cozy with a small bar to watch TV. When l asked for a Corona, l don't need to tell them l want lime. Food is good. You'll need to try it yourself to see!
Came in and instantly seated, very clean. We never had been served so fast. It seemed we just ordered and then was served very hot exculant Mexican food. Chilireano had enchilada sauce on it, which was nice I didn't have to ask for a side. Great servers A+A+A+ To full to try flaunt. We was very impressed.
They accommodated our group after our field trip with all our noisy madness with patients and kindness
My first time. I arrived when they first opened, warm greeting since we were one of the first people to arrive we got our choice of seating, love the old time Mexican Vineyard Farm atmosphere. Our server was a nice young girl who was very nice and attentive, I order came out fresh accurate And Timely our server came out several times to check our order and to refill our drinks even though all I ordered was water and tea. I really like the mason jars they use and the fresh lemon garnish. That was my favorite part. Thank you so much for the amazing experience I will definitely be back with family and friends.
Best gravy and cheese !! Love this Mexican restaurant for the great flavourrrrrrr 😋
This is a revisit to a bad exp. Both my wife and I used to go regularly. We stopped after a bad night there. But we decided after some time to retry out old stomping grounds. Let's just say we were delighted. Good food good lunch. Good everything. Amazing. I guess we will start it up again and make it like Ole times.
Wonderful, friendly service, delicious meals. Full bar and soothing decor. Beautiful murals and art on the walls. Welcomed immediately upon arrival. My favorite part: chips and salsa brought immediately to your table before ordering. 👍
First time here since we were just passing through the area, but the enchilada and rice were great, and tortilla chips as well. Service was good, nice atmosphere, and restaurant was clean. Nothing to complain about, personally I really enjoyed the food, it was well suited to my tastes.
Went for dinner solo. The dining in experience was fast, but I didn't feel rushed. The food came out piping hot and the margarita was salty and delicious. Service was well-staffed, clean and lovely with lots of smiles and great suggestions.
Great food and friendly service. If you want authentic Mexican this is the place.
I wish I would have been able to take a picture of my food before hand but it was too good and I was hungry. This place is great all around. I'm disappointed I didn't try this place sooner.
Ordered for take out (due to COVID). The woman on the phone was so warm and helpful. Ordered two burritos, chips, and guacamole. Total was less than thirty dollars, which is really reasonable. And it was ready in 15 min. Food was delicious!!! Chips are especially good. And they even did custom burritos for us. Please support this local gem! We will definitely be back.
This place is wonderful, both food & service. We did take out, had their chicken tacos, packed with meat & it came with yummy chips & salsa which tasted great with the cheese & gravy. The wait staff were very friendly, making sure I had everything I needed. Looking fwd to our next visit.
I love it here , the plates are so delicious, the service is excellent the food comes out super fast , I always order a #12 , excellent place for a great meal !!!
Beautiful Mexican Restaurant...The Food was very good and the portions are a lot more than your regular restaurant.Everytime we are craving for an Authentic Mexican food we come here and Angelo's never failed us.And special mention to the Servers that are doing a fantastic Job.
We had the immense pleasure of dining at Angelo's. We are not local & happened upon them while driving around. Over all the food, ambiance & staff was amazing. I highly recommend them!
The food was delicious with a great and quick service and reasonable price! Highly recommend in the Lodi downtown area!
Great staff and amazing food. Would definitely recommend it. The outdoor seating is a ni e touch.

Great place. Very fast service and very accommodating to a large group. Thank you
They have all the sodas in glass bottles. Yes even the coke with the sugar cane. Good Stuff.
The best enchiladas in the USA hands down. They are very unique and I haven't found a place anywhere across the country that has sauce like this one. Very savory and delicious sauce. It is not a red or green typical enchilada sauce or brown like mole. The sauce is close comparison to like a Mexican spice gravy. The best and whenever I'm in town I come back to this place.
The best Mexican food we've had in a long time!! So glad we stopped in. The taco salad (huge) and chicken fajitas (seasoned perfect and tender) were the best! Cocktails also very tasty. Can't wait to go back.
Absolutely delicious. My wife and I try to make it out at least once a week. Authentic flavor full Mexican food. The best in Lodi in my opinion. The servers are very nice and helpful and always smiling. Never no bad attitudes. Food always comes out on a hot plate and the salsa and chips you get while waiting for your order are delicious

My combo dinner was extraordinary. The beef taco was to die for, the cheese enchilada was really yummy, and the steak ranchero was like something your Mexican God mother might make at home on a special occasion, chock full of tender strips of peppery steak, potato, zucchini, bell pepper, onion, tomato, and carrot. $13.75. The service was warm, quick, and attentive.
Catering to the community with outdoor seating this was perfect. The tables could be spaced a bit further since I was brushed up against someone trying to walk between myself and the table behind us, but the service was excellent. Food was great at lunch. One person at our table asked for the food to be extra hot (for safety) but I didn't and even my food was piping hot. Way to go Angelo's! Please space tables further apart though. Barely enough room to walk between tables. Thanks!
This is a regular stop for our family of 6. The prices are very reasonable. The food is ample. Weather seeing a movie across the street or wine tasting just down the way, this is a fantastic place to grab a meal with friends or family in a very casual setting. The staff are friendly and quick. The parking is easy.
04/03/2025 We went about 1pm and was helped quickly. They gave us chips and salsa. I had the chicken enchilada, and my friend had the chicken quesadilla. both came with beans and rice. The food was very good, and the customer service was excellent. The prices seemed high, but it seems high everywhere.
We used to come here often, but it's been a while. Stopped by to check it out again. My old favorite, chicken flautas is still delicious but much smaller than it used to be. Very small portion of rice and beans. They were out of several things that night, including guacamole. My margarita was good. My husband got chili Colorado which was actually really good! We will definitely be back.
Beautiful interior, nice ambiance, great food. We had lunch here on a winter mid-afternoon. Where Angelo's Mexican Restaurant misses is the service. There was a lady who initially brought out our drinks -- she was A+, but then we found our main server, a man, was responsible for the refills and entree orders. He didn't check up on us or refill drinks.
If you’re looking for classic Mexican food— then Angelo’s is your place! Located in the cute and quaint area of Downtown Lodi, it is a decent sized restaurant with access to street and garage parking, and a traditional atmosphere. The freshly made salsa has a great flavor! I wish they would include some homemade chips with the standard chips, but, I know that’s asking for a lot… The flavor of their food is very good— the carnitas are crispy and wonderful. The enchilada gravy is complex and delicious. The servers are always very attentive, the pricing is fair, and it’s a great place to get a bite before a movie. I also like their Pork Soup. Give it a try!

Service was quick .. the food was decent.. I didn't like that the food was served at different times. I mean why bring someone their food 10 before the last plate was brought to the table. It's rude to just start eating so I think the waitress should have served the food to everyone at the same time .
As I walked in I was immediately greeted by a young woman. She said that I may seat myself to any table that I preferred. This made my visit quite enjoyable. As for the rest of my visit, the service was attentive with a smile and their food was freshly hot. There was nothing exceptional to add about the food " the basic mom and pop restaurant". However, I have yet to try a dinner item on their menu. I'll be looking to try sometime soon
The prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. It’s almost $19 for the carnitas plate and my food only takes up half the plate… carnitas are crispy, but greasy, the rice is lackluster… the chips and salsa are good and the service seems to be pleasant…

The fries in the carne asada were almost raw, the salsa has no flavor, the marinara sauce was ice cold, the mozzarella sticks were almost raw also and two ppl in our party didn't get their food til much later. Honestly can't say much good about any of the food. The rice and beans were not good either. Only 1 person in our party or 7 really enjoyed the food. Service was okay. The best part about the restaurant was the music. There aren't any dishes I can really recommend.
Used to be one of my all time faves. Went today and ordered the tamale lunch. Very disappointed. It the tamale was so dry, the meat was hard and old and the rice was sour. The beans were super greasy and looked as if they had been sitting all day. The portions were very small as well. We paid 57.00 for 2 lunches including the tip. Definitely will not be going back. The 2 stars were for the customer service. The lady that took my order was very nice with a big smile.
The worst experience was related to billing - if you travel in business avoid this place. Hand written bill and then something printed with code names and credit card charged with different amounts. Most likely it is lack of focus but not very professional and food was just ok.

I kind of feel bad because I've been a server. They were extremely under staffed for the Holiday. My mother and I with my 1yo son walked in and seated ourselves per the sign at the host desk. They have a few dirty tables and about 30 people seated. We find a clean table and wait. We soon realize there are only 2 servers on the floor. We see more people walk in and seat themselves. 20min have gone by and the servers are still working with the tables they had already served. When they finally get around to new tables they ended up helping those who came in AFTER us. We left along with 5 other people. My mom tried to be polite and bring it to the servers attention that they skipped many tables, they didnt care.
I don’t like giving bad reviews But this was truly a terrible meal. I’ve been a patron for years. Both are meals were Micro Waved and looked unappealing. The lettuce was Soggy from being in a Micro Wave NOT GOOD. Unfortunately I will not be back Sad.
I ordered the chicken tacos dinner plate Horrible decision chicken was extremely dry beans tasted like came out of a can last week rice had a weird taste Waitress was really nice though 10 out of 10 would not recommend or consider coming back
2 years ago I left a 5 star rating. We went last night and it was a nightmare. The place was busy, but there were at least 5 servers on the floor. We were seated by the door. Which wasn't horrible until a party of 16 arrived and because there was no where left to sit the staff shoved tables together to make space for them. This made a super small walk way in and out right next to us. Our table was repeatedly bumped by others butts, the waitress forgot about us and and ignored us, 20 mins to get drinks. Asked for salsa 3 times. Large tables food came out before ours. When I asked about our food after a 40 minute wait it was brought cold. Horrible way to spend 60Plus dollars.
The worst chilirejanos I have ever eaten. I became sick within just 2 hours of eating them. I had gastric reactions throughout the night. Basically the food was so awful that I couldn't finish it. I have eaten at this restaurant before and have had the same reaction. The chips and salsa are much better. In my opinion, it is below average. I will have to say that the service was adequate, but that is not good enough to make me to visit this restaurant again. This is the first time that I have ever felt the need to complain openly about a restaurants food. I do have to say that it was not normal hours as I ordered the food at 3PM, but still do not expect the food to make me so ill.
Don’t order the tacos they taste terrible rather no taste at all. Crowded restaurant tables were not cleaned for awhile seemed to be a local hang out. I could not eat this very bland small “street taco”taco. They barely speak English.
Always try to eat at local establishments and I hate to rate it so low but it was simply... NOT GOOD. Definitely not Authentic Mexican. Food was bland and tasteless. Had to ask for tortillas(for a extra charge) and they were of the simple grocery store variety, as were the tortilla chips. We ordered and had our food in literally 3 minutes, yes 3 MINUTES! Maybe it's what we ordered, but I have a feeling our food wasn't freshly made and probably microwaved. NTM the carrots seemed dirty. I barely touched my food. Decided to get a $8 hot dog at the movie theater and it had .lre flavor! On a different note, the service was very good and friendly and the price was reasonable(although not reasonable enough for the quality).

Been eating here for years, brought friends too. Food has been slipping downhill slowly in last 2 years. This trip we ordered the two chicken taco dinner and the two tamale dinner. the chicken was so bad at first we thought we had gotten some large chicken bones...sun dried and hard. The tamales had 3 large [3/4"] very dried meat chunks [maybe sun dried too]. The tamales: one looked like a tamale and the other looked like it got broken on its way to the plate. The salsa looked the same as always, redish colored water in a stone tub. Second zero dinning experience after years of good eating. Will have to wait to hear something good before we go back.
