Lo Spuntino Lodi Reviews
Updated June 22, 2023. Strings Italian Cafe in Lodi is a restaurant at which my family and friends eat frequently. The endless soup, bread, salad are amazing. The lobster bisque is delicious and although not refillable, the server offered to bring a different soup as a free "refill". That's amazing customer service. The complimentary bread is warm, soft, and buttery. The salad has croutons, raisins, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, lettuce, and a fantastic dressing. Our favorite dishes are the braised beef short ribs, salmon and shrimp scampi, shrimp scampi, pasta siena, meatloaf, and spaghetti. We have experienced only stellar service and have been coming here for years even during 2020-2022, when most people were staying home. Servers are kind and attentive. Chicken Lombardy is an entree that hasn't been on the menu for years, but customers can still order it. The short ribs are my personal favorite. Notes: There is a Senior Discount, but you have to ask the server. Restaurant closed on Tuesdays.
We were pleasantly surprised with our first dining experience here. This restaurant is much more than a “cafe”. It has a cozy and casual family-friendly atmosphere. The fresh baked bread was delicious, especially when dipped in olive oil and vinegar (which is available upon request), the salad was huge, and my entree, baked lasagna and tortellini, was delicious. Service is prompt, preemptive, attentive and friendly. The portion sizes are ample, so plan to take any leftovers home to enjoy later. We will be back again.
It looks like they revamped the place after the last time I was here, and I like it! It feels so clean, and it's still got that warm feel to it. Our server was nothing but stellar. Their bread is so soft and warm, and I'd come here for the salad alone. I ordered cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce, and it was delectable. If you want some quality Italian food, this is the place.
The food was good, the bread was amazing. And the menu looks like there was a lot to offer.
This place is a little bit of a drive from downtown but has a cozy feel, spacious inside with well spaced seating. Waiters are attentive, the wine prices decent, typically 6 to 8 dollars for a glass of local wine Food prices are pretty decent by California standards. The seafood bisque soup that comes with the entrées is really good, but so is all you can eat salad. I had the Frutti di mare with 3 types of seafood. Fresh mussels, very tasty. Edit: 1/15: here again for the frutti di mare
Yusdubia was wonderful! Impeccable service. Food absolutely delicious. Artichoke dip is to die for! Seafood fettuccine my favorite. Pastry lasagna unique and tasty.
Excellent food, excellent prices; our waiter was very polite and friendly. I ordered margherita pizza, and my mother ordered ravioli. The place's got a cozy feel, and it feels like I'm genuinely dining in Italy. Definitely coming back here.
This restaurant was nice. The food was great like the service. The atmosphere was calm and enjoyable.
The seafood bisque which you can get with any entree was super flavorful! And we did enjoy our entrees and received 15% senior discount! Sangria tasty, too! Very refreshing. Dog friendly outdoor patio

We pass through Lodi a few times per year. Strings is on our go to list when we are looking for great pasta. Food is delicious! Great value as the meals come with unlimited soup or salad as well a bread. Unpretentious dining experience that is worth checking out.
food was amazing and waitress was always ready to refill and ask if i needed anything very good.
Its been 20 years since I have been here and its is still delicious, wonderful service! Beautifully remodeled inside and so happy Strings is still here! Highly recommend if you're a local or just in town.
Food here is pretty good wouldn’t call it great. Bread was ok but I prefer it a touch softer. Fried raviolis had great flavor but needed more filling. Chicken on the fettuccine was really good had great flavor. Alfredo sauce was nothing special & needed more salt. Waitress was really nice and attentive. Nice clean & open dining room area. Prices basically start at $19 and go up from there.
Nice Italian restaurant in Lodi. The server was efficient, helped us settle in, described dishes and stayed ahead of us in suggesting desserts and bringing to-go boxes for our unfinished food we loved too much to leave behind. We specially liked the Italian baked dish (Lasagna and meatballs, baked and smothered in sauce and cheese), and the desserts (tiramisu and cheesecake)
Waiter was friendly but not super attentive. We asked for balsamic vinegar and olive oil for our bread. Really just a minute or two for him to get it, but he chose to stop and take another table's order first. My friend ended up getting up and asking someone else for it. They happily added mussels to my dish as I requested but my friend said the calamari with shrimp had way too much butter.

Always love coming here. The last time I went, I got the Baked Fornitino and it has a lot of potential but a few thoughts on improving it - I think a smidge less spinach. I thought the favor overpowered the dish a bit. Also, I really think chunks of pepperoni would be much better than the strips of pepperoni. I could hardly taste the pepperoni. Still love the restaurant, but that dish could definitely use some improvements.
I always enjoy strings! Love dipping their fresh baked bread in the seafood bisque. I usually get ravioli with half red half alfredo. So tasty. Dessert Hack, you just have to ask. I asked if they could do deep fried cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Absolutely! They wrapped the cheescake in puff pastry and the cheesecake just melted in my mouth! It was soooo good! Especially with the raspberry sauce. Highly recommend!

The service was good and we didn't have to wait. I ordered the seafood fettuccine. It wasn't bad and I don't have any specific complaints, it just wasn't anything to write home about. I plan to try them again and see if it was just an off day.
it was my first time at this location. friends recommended to take me. I restaurant looked clean .bread was great. salad was kinda a repeat of olive garden. and not as good. I had the lasagna. it was OK. not large prurtions. egg plant was good. are server was not what I would call friendly at all . not very professional or welcoming. on that not. with my meal they gave me pasata on the side . not tasty. so to be honest. am definitely not rushing back to this place. because of poor service and food was kinda bland thanks

Food was pretty good and serving sizes were decent. Prices were high for pasta and basically Olive Garden food. The main problem was the service… Our waitress was kind but struggled at the end of service. Initially, she brought us the wrong bill but luckily we reviewed the items on the tab and realized it wasn’t ours. When she did bring us the proper check it, she had charged us for an adult meal $17.99 (beef ravioli, could’ve been reheated Chef Boyardee) for my 7 year old son who ordered off of the kids menu (Monday’s kids under 10 are supposed to eat for free with an adult meal). We had purchased 3 other adult meals so his should have been free. Disappointing, you had one job and couldn’t do it correctly. We paid and tipped 20% but won’t go back.
I got Alfredo fettuccine, was the nastiest thing I ever ate. I've never been there. Wanted to try it once and no taste the sauce tasted like flour. There wasn't even a taste, it was just flowery, nasty, I would never eat there again

WARNING: DECEITFUL PRACTICES. First complaint, guy who took my name forgot to write it down. I noticed he sat three people before me then when i told him about it he apologized and sat us down. Fine. I ordered the pasta siena. I ordered it because I LOVE SUN DRIED TOMATOES in pasta, guess what you get FRESH TOMATOES. i told the waitress and she suggested "we can saute some sundried and give it to you on the side" So you do have it on stock but decided to replace the ingredient without notice to the customer. Sun dried is more expensive than roma tomatoes. I cant believe they would deceive people with cheaper ingredients in hopes of someone not noticing.
