MBER London Reviews
Dinned with some close friends here and it was just amazing the private room was where we dined and the service was spectacular. A broad range of dishes. I had the Vietnamese Goat Curry. Omg well this was crazy good. I think what was most impressive was the plating, ambience and the distinguished flavors. Keep it up. I will be back.
It was very nice Asian restaurant. Service was very good. Enjoyable seating, reasonable price for City of London and that quality of food. Our favourite was samosa, aubergine and avocado burger. Chicken was good but the duck bun was too dry. Finishing with chocolate mouse was stunning..
Amazing restaurant, tried pretty much every dish on the menu (incl. desserts, see pictures) and had a fantastic experience. The black cod, chicken satay & the pork doughnuts are a must - actually you can't go wrong with anything. Great for either a business meal or for a special treat with you other half.
Following the recommendation we decided to try this Pan Asian restaurant called MBER! Place is situated near monument station and is underground!! There are I think three different rooms, one main one and other two small ones so one’s can hire for a small party if required. There are no starters or main courses all come as a small dishes - tapas like style! Nice selection of teas or wines! This is not a cheap restaurant for each small plate you could pay from 12- up to 19 £ but it is worth it! Flavours of each of those dishes are just incredibly amazing… I had a ‘weeping tiger ‘ beef salad and it was just right in flavours and size! I ordered tuna sashimi again those flavours and truffles … I also tried the other dishes and it was like even better then my order.. I would recommend for any occasion really a fantastic place and staff is very attentive!
Great food, cocktails and wine. The two of us went for a late lunch on a hot day. The dark, cozy interior felt perfect for the evening. We ordered five dishes to share plus rice, cocktails and a bottle of wine. Our waitress Vanessa was amazing – warm, friendly and so much fun to chat with. We left feeling like old friends. Thanks to Vanessa and the whole team, I will definitely be back :)
We absolutely loved the place , perfect for couples. The décor is fantastic; I believe it used to be an old tube station, which gives it real character. The food was good value for money, and Gemma, who looked after us, was brilliant. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time at Mber. We had gone with no expectations and were pleasantly surprised! Each single dish was delicious! The lotus stem thing was so yum n crispy that we ordered it thrice!! and the pork sliders twice! the soft shell crab bao was finger-licking good..with a very unique different twist in the taste! The service was superbly on point! we loved meeting Gemma, Nabeel and Connor! They were very warm, friendly and super efficient! Nabeel even made a cocktail specifically for us! The ambience was just right, we could have a conversation easily and really have a nice relaxed time.
Visited MBER for a team dinner. We enjoyed most of the food, and it wasn’t too expensive compared to other places in the area. Our seating felt private, and the music wasn’t too loud to have conversations across the table. Very exciting cocktails. Loved the Aubergine dish and the Sticky toffee pudding the most.
My favourite food. This is my go to restaurant & everyone I’ve taken here loves it too. I don’t usually like steak but I absolutely love the Charolais Ribeye steak. So much so that I went out of my way to research the ingredients and Korean steak marinades to try to make it at home myself. The seared scallops and broccoli are delicious too. I really enjoy almost all of their food. The Wagyu Beef & Foie Gras Burger was a bit meh… I expected better and I found it to be quite dry. The apricot & stem ginger compote part of the vegan mess was not for me but the coconut mochi was yummy. Our waiter recommended the watermelon cocktail and it was really nice. Service is always 10/10. Our waiter was attentive, polite and extremely attractive. Probably one of the most attractive men I’ve ever seen. Mber do need to do some work on their bathroom though. There’s limescale around the taps and soap dispenser; & looks like it needs a bit of an updo, or at least a deep clean. I’m not sure if the mirror was just tinted or dirty. Considering the cost of the food, and the rest of the restaurant, the bathroom is quite disappointing. It did make me wonder if ambience is the only reason they have dim lighting.
MBER is a nice romantic spot walking distance to Monument. Great for a quick quiet drink or a posh meal. I had the 12 course vegan sharer and it did not disappoint. 7 out of the 12 dishes were winners.. the other 5 being ok... But a wonderful overall experience. It was the first time I had a vegan Pavlova... Wow, was not expecting that. Really recommend this even if you don't go for the 12 courses. A little on the pricey side, but a good price for the type of establishment. 5 stars.
A delightful fusion of ingredient that made for a scrumptious lunch! Highlights were the squid, which was so light, crisp and crunchy. No heavy batter, like on onion rings. The soft shell crab was given a similar treatment and was excellent. It even came out looking like a little crab with the bun! The pickled lotus root was refreshing, great balance of acidity, sweet, and the avocado adding a neutral, creamy touch. Bar service was incredible. Cocktails are a definite recommend!! Great sharing portions, lovely setting and atmosphere for socials with friends, family and even dates. Felt like a little hidden gem, tucked away near monument. Service and staff were wonderful throughout and a massive thank you to Michal, Stefan and Georgi for making our visit extra special.
My husband and I visited MBER for the 9-dish vegan sharing menu and had an absolutely brilliant time. The staff pulled out all the stops - they were so welcoming and made us feel truly appreciated, from the staff on the door, to those at the bar and in the restaurant. The maître d' was especially accommodating, and made sure that we were well attended to at every point, and the nine-dish sharing menu was absolutely delicious. Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience and we shall definitely be returning. I couldn't recommend MBER enough for anyone looking for a restaurant recommendation with excellent vegan options.
Hidden gem in Bank, brilliant vibe and food is unique
Great food and a nice service: we took the 9 dishes tasting experience and this was more than enough and a real delight. The interior is very nicely decorated and the cellar has a very intimate atmosphere. Asian fusion style food with lots of spices, flavor and hot sauce.
absolutely delicious 9-dish sharing taste experience. star of the show the duck bao, but every dish was truly delicious! top marks also for ambience, service and for how seriously they are taking customers' safety
First time here for a business dinner. Soooo good! Unique and cozy atmosphere, delicious small bites shared by the entire table. We shared salmon sashimi, Inari tofu tempura pockets, chicken satay, jasmine rice, Korean BBQ cauliflower, onion pakora loaf, Thai massaman curry and much more. The depth of flavor for all the options was spectacular and each has some form of texture to keep the dishes interesting and delightful. Definitely on my revisit list the next time I'm in London.
Pan Asian restaurant serving a wide array of Asian dishes. My standout dish was the Tonkatsu Japanese curry (if you can get passed a few chewy pieces where the panko breading did not adhere to the pork). The service was fast and great
The service here was so warm and helpful, it made for such a beautiful early valentine's! The atmosphere was lovely and we were seated at a tucked away corner table, which was great. I was really impressed by the vegan options on the menu - they were very original and delicious. We also learned there's a vegan tasting menu that can be organised ahead of time. I'll definitely be coming back again with friends too!
Amazing food. Had the 9-dish tasting menu and every dish was delicious. The dessert crispy chocolate gyoza was creative and tasty. Highly recommended!
We had a team night out and everything was so good that I forgot to take pictures of the food. It is an interesting concept- kind of Asian tapas, you get served a succession of pan Asian food. Everything was very tasty and portions are good enough to fill that you ate enough. Coctails are also large in variety and tasty! Would recommend!
I booked a business dinner for 16 people which turned out to be a great success. The feedback received from all attendees was fantastic. Delicious food, fancy drinks, perfect customer service, all in an amazing venue. Thank you MBER for such a great experience!
Having had a look at the set menu initially, I wasn't sure this was going to be a good choice but upon tasting the food.... aaaah! Amazing! We went as a group of 8 with a 9-taster meal set menu option which included dessert. The servings were generous IMO for a London eatery and by the end of the night, we were struggling for space for the dessert! The only issue I had was that being in a basement, the air conditioning needed to be at 💯, which it wasn't and I was sweating half the time. Asides that, quality of both food and service was nice, a good array of drinks and the staff very accommodating and friendly. I'd recommend it.
Amazing food - if you're ready for a big meal, definitely try the set menu, you won't be disappointed but be warned, they can't alter the menus for any special dietary requirements. It's quite a small and dark venue but a great atmosphere, with live acoustic music when we there and great cocktails. Staff are very attentive and your food is served almost too quickly, but we weren't rushed out at the end of our meal. It's a real mix of couples and larger groups but seemed to accommodate everyone's needs.
Fantastic venue, exciting cocktails and good food. Adventurous range of vegetarian options and reasonable portion sizes - it was great to try new flavours and textures. Avo and pickled lotus root with watermelon salad was refreshing. The banana blossom tempura was my favourite - perfectly made with crispy batter and a zingy spicy dip. Dessert of chocolate mousse was a bit disappointing. Very rich and needed something more to balance it out and more texture. Honeycomb was sparce and some cherry kitsch may have added more of the flavour. Overall a great dining experience.
One of the best service levels I I’ve experienced. Truly a shoutout to the staff. Food wise a little mixed. Amazing fish dishes and a little uneven on the meats and condiments. Would totally go back for a full fish meal. Really cool venue.
This is a very nice bar-restaurant with a pan-Asian cuisine style in the heart of the City. The place is superb and the atmosphere fantastic. The service is also top-notch and everything is organised to ensure that you and your guests have a great evening. The food is genuinely fresh and good ... but at this level of price, my expectations are also much higher and "good" isn't just good enough. Don't get me wrong, this is a great place to have an evening out, but in this price category, if you're looking for great cuisine, there are better places in the City.
MBER * Pan-Asian tapas next to London Bridge. What an amazing discovery this place was. Great, meat, vegetarian options and cocktails. Although pricey this was a great experience. The dishes looked like art-work, definitely worth an Instagram - and tasted great too! * The service was friendly and they recommended dishes/drinks based on our taste. They recommend you order 3-4 dishes per person. * This is also a great place to go for some cool cocktails if you can afford it. They also have some exclusive private rooms - try and get a peak * What’s your favourite? * We ordered: * Cocktails: Yuzu watermelon martini & El Fuego * Inari tofu tempura pocket * Grilled chicken satay * Miso aubergine * Vegan Mess served with handmade mango & passion fruit mochi Out of 10: * Taste: 7 * Service: 6 * Price: 9 * Presentation: 9 Follow my food account on instagram @best_restaurantsldn
Had a nice dinner for two at MBER. Great service and food generally good. The massaman curry with jackfruit was incorrect, though. It lacked the characteristic nutty element of a massaman curry - I believe what they actually served was a Thai green curry base with coconut milk. Desserts very good.
Good and filling meal - we had the 9-course tasting menu, and, while a bit on the heavier side, we definitely enjoyed it. The tuna sashimi and miso eggplant were my favorite, and the green curry was really good too. The desserts were interesting - the cake was classic and delicious, but the ginger ice cream was really unique and strong in flavor. Their drinks list is pretty different too, and the service is good. Great for a date!
Food had great flavor, was very interesting and different than other restaurants. 4 star is related because much of the food had cilantro which I do not like. Food came out quickly and service was very good. Make a reservation since the restaurant fills up fast.
Food was really flavorful and portions sizes were generous! We had a discount code which lowered the price of our meal but without it I may have said it was slightly pricey. Staff were great, really friendly!
Amazing food, couldn't be better. Unfortunately the service was very poor. Restaurant manager Georgy offered a discount on the next visit as the waitress might not be working there much longer. Otherwise, great setting, decor and perfect for any celebration.
The staff where lovely especially the front of house lady (spanish), it was nice having lunch in the city yet feeling totally secluded from the world due to rhe beautiful ambience of rhe restaurant. The katsu curry was amazing and something I will definetely be going back for, however the wagyu burger was rather disappointing. But all in all the food was great and presented beautifully and we had an excellent and relaxing lunch.
We shared a 7 course lunch which sounds alot but it was quite small as it was tapas. Nice intimate setting as its s a level downstairs. Next time will order from the a la carte menu
Good Asian fusion cuisine. We were lucky to nab a table at the bar without booking on a Saturday evening, and were very well looked after by Zed throughout the evening. Truly excellent service - and very friendly. Spiced lychee mocktail was fragrant but lacked ice. Food was generally delicous, though the portions are small for price. Tuna truffle sashimi with a yuzu dipping sauce was particularly inspired. Char sui mini doughnuts were a beautiful texture bomb. The black cod lacked the caramelised crust that would have really made it sing, and the beetroot salad was overwhelmingly acidic. The peanut butter parfait is indulgently faultless. Had a lovely evening here, all in all.
Not our ambiance as the music was very loud and “party” style which we weren’t expecting (but that’s a personal preference and not something negative about the place) The receiving staff was correct and polite but not overly friendly, however the lady that served us was a star and helped us with the birthday candles and everything. The lose one start due to the pricing of the food. Yes the food is delicious (the aubergine was undercooked to my taste but noone else seemed to have a problem with it) and yes it is innovative, however the size of the dishes is quite small and, for us, a bit overpriced for the size. Perhaps if the dish was a bit bigger, we wouldn’t have mind the price as much. Having said that, we do love the concept for small sharing dishes that we can mix and match. I don’t think we would be back as it wasn’t our ambiance but we don’t regret trying it and we would definitely recommend it
Amazing service and cocktails. Food was just okay, however next time would pass on the strangely creamy Veg Massaman curry (too many onions not enough jack fruit) and Korean cauliflower, which was passable thanks to it's tasty sauce, however it needed some coating or texture, rather than just grilled/baked. Thanks for a lovely evening!
Unfortunately Half the menu was not available the day we visited. We were surprised to hear that dish after dish was not available… The presentation of the few plates we managed to order eventually, was different from the same food pictures we saw online. Seems like there was a change in the kitchen staff or chef. The place felt like abandoned or half operational… Also quite expensive for what it was. The wagyu beef avocado burger was a disappointment especially considering the price of it. Looks extravagant but its just pieces of plain avocado cut nicely. Only the calamari was nice, but you can have the same in any pub. I would not go again!
Nice ambiance but food was average at best and service awfully slow. Waitress spent most of the evening chatting with the bartender and seemed irritated when asked for something, like being interrupted in the middle of a movie. Once ordered, food arrived quick which is great reflection of kitchen service. However some dishes were bland and not worth their price tag.
Nice atmosphere, but overall not worth the price. The food was fine, but nothing special, and the portions were small for what you’re paying. For £100 between two people, there are much better places in London with the same kind of vibe and better value. We had a 90-minute time slot but after an hour and 40 minutes our dessert still hadn’t arrived and we kept having to ask for our food. The staff were clearly working hard but were understaffed, so service was very slow. The fire alarm going off during the meal didn’t help either. Okay experience, but overpriced and forgettable.
Valentine’s Day was a massive disappointment, firstly you are forced to pay in advance or lose the booking and only told this a week before. It says you can pick dishes but forced to have rice as 1 of those dishes so basically 5: of your choice. Everything was cold, had obviously been prepped in advance and waiting around. Sent some back and got a slightly warmer version, but still not great. Everything was very dry, again I assume it’s just kept under a heat lamp. We did get a token jesture of a discount of the bottle of water and a beer, nothing in comparison to the £100 on food and extra on alcohol!! Altogether a terrible experience i would definitely not recommend eating here. This was recommended in timeout and have no idea why, as the whole experience was pretty awful.
That’s not a burger — that’s an avocado totem pole having an identity crisis. You’ve taken a perfectly innocent avocado, split it in half, and forced it into the role of a bun like it’s auditioning for a vegan Cirque du Soleil act. And for £19.80? Are you kidding me? That’s not a price — that’s daylight robbery. Nearly twenty quid for a wobbly green tower that needs a safety pole to stay upright. I’ve had actual burgers for half that price that didn’t require engineering support. Absolute rip-off
Served raw chicken and waitress was really rude and argumentative about it even though it was clearly undercooked which she initially admitted to and swiftly removed the dish then tried to charge us for the meal after when we were more than willing to pay for what we ate but not for the rest post raw chicken when we didn’t eat another bite. Found her very argumentative and rude and it was really embarrassing
