Tacos Chapala Long Beach Reviews
Sweet and Short the food is excellent this food took me back to my mother's home cooking. as of now I would rather have great food and not have to wait to be seated and save money with better portions. The service wasn't rude they just get to the point. I love that
The food there is very good. I had the wet burrito and my husband had the tortas and some tocas everything we ordered was very very very delicious. The meat is sooooooo good. Everyone there was friendly and the service was fast. For sure going back for seconds. By far one of the best Mexican food restaurant I've ate at.
I was ABOUT to order burrito de asada Then my inlaw saw tripa 😋 I said if they get this right they are legit . Mind you I had been here previously and liked their tacos !!! Food was bomb bomb bomb !!! Red salsa was so fire I almost cried haha
Still the best taco place in town. They've raised their prices on their tacos; it's $2 for the more popular meat such as asada, Al pastor, carnitas, etc. And $2.75 for lengua and tripas. The raised in price is justified though. They load the taco with meat; two tacos worth of meat on one taco.
Their chorizo breakfast burrito is my favorite!! I always ask for it with onions and cilantro added. Very kind people, this is a regular spot for me.
Very tasty food. Nachos Chapala is a great serving. The breakfast burritos also taste pretty good! And of course the tacos hit the spot!!
I was on a hunt for carnitas & my husband wanted trompo while visting Long Beach. Guess what? I found them. Meat was moist and full of flavor. The owner doesn't skimp on the tacos. He loads them with pure goodness. Place was clean and service was like going to grandmoms Rancho. We Will go back when I'm in California.
Went on #tacotuesday they are $1.50 for the Pollo and carnitas. The horchata is good. And their hot sauce is pretty good. Parking is a little weird though
Had their tacos de lengua, buche y cabeza. I loved all of them. Also their salsa is so good! 🔥 I highly recommend this place!
Tacos chapala !!!! What can I say Great food, carne asada tacos are really good how ever I always go for the carne asada Mulitas those things are fuego no not fuego as in spicy lol asada mulita with some cane asada chips and a large horchata 👌🤯 Very good customer service, food always taste fresh, This is my family's first choice when it comes to authentic Mexican food
Bomb just a bit pricey. My kids and I always get their lengua ones they clean the lengua really well. And also their alpastor is good on the chapala nachos.
Tasty hand made food, friendly service and a comfy place to sit, relax, and eat.
You hungry? And you and your girlfriend can't decide were to go eat? Well come on down to Chapalas.. where any thing you get is the right decision just make sure you ask for grilled onions.. #boom . If you still cant decide what to get let me help you out . You can't go wrong with my favorite , Torta De carnitas or my girlfriends fave the Nachos De Alpastor but make sure you order double the meat. And for all my Caucasian friends out there it's just like Asada meat but better. Any ways this is my go to spot when I want some Mexican in me...
I love their al pastor tacos and their salsa verde is so good. Husband gets their wet asada burrito and devours it while my dad gets the nachos chapala with pastor and enjoys it.
Life hack: order your breakfast burritos (or other meals) here and then grab your coffee at Good Time. 🤌🏽
Best tacos of the area !!!! Good size ! Meat is fresh and delicious with great tortillas !!!! The only issue is the parking , small space.
If you’re looking for a no frills taco spot...(that’s not a truck)... this is it. Great tacos. Delicious homemade red and green sauce. I recommend the al pastor, carnitas and carne asada. Wow! Just had the breakfast burrito. My new favorite BB! This place never disappoints.
One of the best hidden secret taco - burrito spots in LB. Los Compadres next door is for that chick you try on the first date, that clean collared shirt with some hair product and nice cologne. Chapalas is for that side chick you know so well, messy hair and sweatpants on a Saturday morning, that cozy Netflix and chill heina. Ridiculous good tacos and burritos. They put together some cabeza and tripas like nobody's business if you're into that. Nachos are good, sopas are good, tortas good; haven't had a bad order yet from all my visits.
For a locally owned taqueria, this place was clean and straight forward. Cool that they do breakfast burritos all day. I ordered a chicken burrito and enjoyed it. My brother got a torta and ate the entire thing. Horchata was tasty too. People were friendly, and the place was clean. For a small joint in Long Beach, I recommend.
Tacos Chapala was a great place to eat after we got off the airplane and wanted a good place in Long Beach with an authentic Mexican taste. We knew we were eating good food when numerous locals kept coming in and then we enjoyed a delicious meal that was reasonably priced. The staff was also really nice and the service was fast. Enjoy Tacos Chapala when your in Long Beach, California!
Affordable, authentic tacos 😋 the tacos de tripas and lenguas are the highlights! Probably the best tacos I've ever had outside of Mexico. 🇲🇽 Highly recommend! I always stop by this place whenever I am in Long Beach!
Excellent Food! Tacos are awesome. I thought I’d try their Wet Burrito. The Pastor here is excellent. I had the Pastor the other day on tacos and again in this enormous wet burrito.
Yes yes great tocos....THE BOMB!!! I know thats an old term but its true these tacos are good as hell. Perfect taste and perfect spicy hot flavor! This is definitely my new taco spot in LB
The food is great since day one and they're practicing social distancing and also required to wear a face mask before they serve you.

I always order the Cali burrito usually carnitas tried pastor and man the meat was amazing cook is 10/10 presentation amazing they ask if u want salsa not just wait for u to ask Love it coming back everytime im in Long Beach
This place has delicious food! I especially love their nachos, tortas and tacos. Their green salsa is addicting! On top of all of that their service is fast. My boyfriend is a very picky eater and he loves this place.I've been coming here for about 10 years and have not been disappointed.
Good Mexican food at a reasonable price, but parking is difficult. Update June 23: I just paid over $16 for one plate of nachos. The prices have gone up about 50% in the past year or so; which in my mind, is too much for a taco stand.
The food here is great, probably the best Mexican food in Long Beach, which is saying a lot. I've been coming here for years, tried almost everything, and have never been disappointed. I usually get something with carne asada, which is really well prepared - cooked perfectly with a great chop / texture, and no gristle or other unwanted stuff. The red sauce is also nothing short of amazing, if you like it spicy. No joke, it's that good - it should be patented, bottled, and sold in stores. I will always be back!

I have been a customer since they open I loved their tacos TRIPA always well cooked and their ASADA burrito IS ALSO WELL DONE.Prices went a bit higher for what they sell I don't visit as much as before but when I do they never fail me.👌👌
Carnitas were a bit dry but the cabeza is really good here. Shredded and yummy. The carne asada was a bit bland but you get a lot of meat and the staff is super nice!
Went there three-times. First visit, the carne asada tacos didn't taste all that good. The meat seemed to have tasted "old". However, the spices in the meat were good enough to get me to give it another try. Second visit, had a carne asada burrito. I took it home, and the meat and other contents were delicious, but it was cold, because I didn't get home and enjoy it fresh until about 5-6 hours later. However, the meat was pretty good. Third visit, the tacos were absolutely yummy. I wish I had a longer lunch to savor the flavor of my three tacos. Compared to my regular "tacos joints", this place ranks higher. I just wish this place was closer to home. Next visit will be about chips and salsa. 😋
Great food, great price. Wish it were easier to park here but there is a shopping center across the street.

I almost hate to share this amazing taco shop because it’s that good. I found this place (next door to Los Compadres) because an employee at Los Compadres said that that was where he eats and that it was delicious. So we tried it and he was right! Cheap, delicious tacos. I will say that they taste best eaten hot on premise (which is only about 5 tables so don’t expect much) but getting 12+ tacos to go will still make you a hero at dinner. Green sauce is full of flavor and just a slight bit of heat. Red sauce is hot but still delicious - use sparingly.

They are average. The prices are too high for their basic food tbh. Not a place I would frequent.
Got tacos, little pricey at $2 but they have a good amount of meat. Green salsa is really good. Would try again for California burrito or asada fries.
This place delivers some hefty portions, and their tacos are loaded! The quality isn't the best, and the carnitas were WAY over cooked. The inside lobby is pretty dirty and needs some TLC, but If you're hungry and looking for lots of food for a low price, this is a good place for you.
Very nice the server was very curteous and well mannered . Cute place .

$20 for a wet burrito is wild Food was good. I finished it but not for that price.
So I discovered this place years ago and I really fell in love with their asada tacos. However, back then their tacos were $1.25 each. I realized how they raised their price from time to time until it reach $2 - which is expensive in my opinion. I went today because I really like their food but they raised their prices AGAIN and now tacos cost from $2.7 to $3.5!! This is insane and very disappointing. I ended up paying $28 for NINE tacos. This breaks my heart but I will never come back again. I can’t afford their prices any longer and I honestly don’t know how they plan to stay on business

I've been eating at this place since they came into business, there tacos de pastor were delicious but I don't know if they have a new cook but the pastor was dry today their torta was not good at all The Onion was very uncooked sorry thumbs 👎
I had the carne asada wet burrito. I would give it a 6 out of 10. Meat was not very good and the beans were under cooked. The cooks and cashier looked very unorganized!!
To be fair I Really have only ever come here on Tuesday for, yep, you guessed it; Taco's. But I think this this will be my last trip. All tacos used to be $1.25, which is a reasonable price for street tacos with some flavor. For some unknown reason, carne asada tacos are now $2, while chicken and pork tacos are $1.25. I ordered 5 tacos not knowing about the price change, and that was $10, when it used to be 1/3 of that price. Then a med size Horchata for $1.90. Voila $13. When the whole lunch should've been less than $10. On top of all this change, carne asada was dry and lacked the flavor it used to have. The flour tacos themselves were a bit hard, but the only saving Grace the amount of food given, and the salsa is great and they come with sauteed onion's and Serrano peppers, upon request. However, great salsas and sauteed onion's and Serrano's aren't going to be enough to bring me back to Taco's Chapala. The tacos used to be amazing. Now there's no ama- or - zing.

Small place with very limited parking. Overpriced and they charge a dollar if you pay with a card. My food got cold before I could finish it due to the ac blowing full blast! 13 bucks for 2 tacos and a side of chips. The tacos were ok, but I probably won't be back. Next time I will go to holè molè down the street. Where I can get way more food and a drink for the same price!
The food was good. I actually wanted to try the seafood shack that is on this property but it was closed. So came Into this place, looked like a nice little hole in the wall but the girl taking our order was rude with a weird attitude, No customer service. I greeted her and she didn't ease up. she started talking to me only in Spanish so I did too , made an order of 3 different items and at the end when she gave me my order she just started speaking only in English. I was like um...okay? I'm not sure why that was necessary. Honestly I wouldn't come here again.

Just left this place. Not worth $11 for that burrito. Carne asada has no flavor. Me and my wife didn't finish our burrito. I will never return. The restaurant next door is good.
Meat was old. Rice had no flavor. I should have known when we walked in and it smelled like chemical cleaners and not food. We couldn't finish our meals. We left and ate elsewhere.
I was looking for a quick place to dine in and saw this on maps. I decide to give it a shot. When I began to order I saw that the guys finger was bleeding, I completed my order but was honestly disgusted by what I saw. Then they proceeded to prepare my food without gloves or covering the cut with a bandaid. I did not want to be rude and ask for a refund so my food was served. I left the place with my plate and drink on the table. Would not recommend if you care about food safety.
$20 for a wet burrito with no side? $16.75 for a medium sized Asada Burrito? If you want to waste money please come on down..
The previous reviews of this place are completely false. We came here because reviews said “best tacos in Long Beach” if these are the best . I never want a taco in that city again. Literally the tortilla was literally cold like out of the refrigerator cold , meat was tasteless and re cooked not even freshly cooked. I had to get a refund this place was so bad. I only ate half of the taco. Disappointment for Southern California.
