I really can't recommend this place enough. Legit some of the best vegan fare I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. And yes, it's an experience. The Chikn & Waffles or Stuffed French Toast w/ the Habanero Strawberry Jam is my favorite dish, but the waffleito, Monte Cristo, and Mac n Cheese are all to die for. I just tried the Vegan Vietnamese coffee today for the first time and it was delicious. Only open on Fri, Sat, and Sun for now so make sure and take advantage all weekend long

Wait, that was Vegan? I've driven past this place a million times telling myself I should stop in one of these days. Today was the day, our first visit to Wild Chive. Though a little off the beaten path, it is well worth going a little out of you way for. A coffee house/cafe setting with tables for 2 or 4 in the front and more 'get to know your neighbor' communal bench seating toward the back and on the side patio. The brunch only menu has a little something for everyone, satisfying the pickiest of eaters. We had the SOUTHERN FRIED CHICK’N SAMMIE w/side salad, and it was absolutely delicious (we were questioning if it was vegan)! Such a lovely place to share time with friends over brunch. Next time mimosas!

This place is fantastic! I'm a huge fan of restaurants that pay attention to the details of their meals, and you really notice it here. They don't put tomato on their BLT because it's in the name. The flavor is perfectly balanced with the sauce and cheese. It's so so good. Their food is just amazing, including the beignets! I love those delicious soft little sugar pillows. I'm not a vegan by the way. This is dang good food. Also, get their stuffed french toast, it's their gateway drug.

B

Was skeptical about eating here because I do not eat solely vegan cuisine but everything was super delicious. The BLT was huge and full of flavor and the potatoes and aioli were really good as well. Ended with the beignets and they were quite tasty. Would definitely visit again!

This is hands down the best vegan brunch I've ever had. Sweet or savory, it's all good. The space is casual classy with an open air feel. Every employee we encountered was abundantly accommodating and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back for the dinner menu soon.

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Long Beach! The food is amazing and high quality and so obviously made with love and care; it is worth every penny and more! The staff is absolutely lovely. Everyone was so kind and went above and beyond for us. This place is a must try if you ever get the chance!!!

Love this place. It's not the cheapest, but it's in the average local vegan restaurant price range so nothing insane by any means. Their food is amazing, especially the various brunch sandwhiches like the monte Cristo. They have some gluten free options, not a ton, but enough to give me a few options. One of our favorite Long Beach vegan places. A little bummed about the opening time change from 9am to 10am because that makes it harder to order breakfast not super late. But I'm sure it was to do with when they're busy, so I'll still be ordering when we want a treat!

Great service and plenty of street parking. Reservations recommended. Very cute open floorplan with a open kitchen as well. The waitress and hostess were very fast, friendly, and efficient. The decor is lovely and the bathrooms are clean. The menu has a lot of yummy food. The zuchini sticks were to die for! Best I've ever had.

I live close by but never went there thinking "how good can Vegan food really be"? When my friend dragged me there I was so surprised to find the food amazing and absolutely delicious (even if you are a carnivore you will not notice the absence of meat). Service is awesome too and the vibe is cool. Never knew what I was missing and this is now one of my new favorite places to eat!

They have the best food in the world here. Try anything with the fried chick’n or the BLT. Please please please bring back the mac and cheese!!! It was my favorite.

Gotta try their INCREDIBLE french toast! Their tofu scrambles are delicious too. Great ambience & service. Surely one of the best vegan restaurants in the LA area, if not THE best.

Ever time I’ve visited Long Beach I somehow find myself here at least once. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, but the food was still extremely enjoyable, especially when it comes to breakfast. The waiters have always been attentive and kind. The all had worn makes and gloves and it makes you feel that much more confident in your choice of dining here. I highly recommend the stuffed fresh toast and chicken and waffle.

The Wild Chive is a beautiful gem in our neighborhood. Food is fantastic, you definitely have to try the zucchini sticks! The place is awesome: open, a lot of natural light, fun music. Finally the people: very kind, very genuine, you have to meet the owner Wendy! Now I have to go back asap to try this Vietnamese coffee!

The best vegan place in Long Beach. Non vegans will love it too. The food and service is consistently amazing. Try the breakfast in bread or the chive BLT. The side salad is simply delicious. The staff are so genuinely lovely. They always remember you and come over to say hi. They are fur baby friendly too :)

We had lunch on a Saturday. Promptly seated indoors and they have a small patio too. Excellent friendly service. We had the BLT and Country Breakfast tofu scramble. Both very tasty.

Such a dope place. Haven't been here since they were at their old location yrs back. It's so cute inside, the atmosphere is open and welcoming, with amazing staff & an overall great vibe. Went for Sunday brunch today, the bartender was super cool, & so friendly! They ran out of the blt but thats okay; we got the french toast, fries and I tried their fried pickles, which were so good! Thanks again! We will definitely be back.

Where do I even start! So a few co-workers recommend this fine establishment to me and it did not disappoint! Drove from Corona to try it out and even if it were further I would still make that drive. The staff here is by far the friendliest/welcoming I've ever encountered. You can tell the chefs love what they do. Best vegan food I've had hands down! My bf and I had the shroom burger and fried zucchini! Can't wait to try out more food!

S
Stephanie Montero

I tried this restaurant after finding out it's vegan. I got their limited time country platter and a pancake. The fried chicken was the best I've ever had. The seasoning is superb. And the pancake was so good, even after leaving it in the fridge for a few days.

C
Chelsea Brooks

I'm not even vegan and I CRAVE their take on a BLT. I go here simply because the food is delicious and the vegan part is a great perk! The staff is really friendly too. I can't say enough good things. Get the beignets! They're incredible. They have coffee but not lattes. They do get very busy on the weekends so come early or be prepared to potentially wait.

K

I made a reservation for 7 members of my family for my bday ahead of time, and when we got there, they sat us right away even though our whole party wasn't there. Not something I'm used to considering I'm from LA and they don't seat you until everyone is there. The food was amazing, I actually didn't know it was a Vegan restaurant. My sister recommended the place and the food was awesome even for my family who are big meat eaters. Are table was reserved, the waitress even spoke spanish to our older family members, I will def come back to this place. They should def have more reviews considering how good this place is. The coffee by the way was really really good.

Hands down the best restaurant in Long Beach. Wonderful atmosphere and service. The food is to die for! I would say it’s the best vegan food I’ve had but it’s not, it’s the best food I’ve had. Love dinner or brunch, doesn’t matter it’s delicious. I dream about those zucchini sticks and that is not an exaggeration I literally dream about them. Love you wild chive can me and my partner get married at your restaurant?????

C

Comfort food with a hint of Vietnamese. Cute vibe. Not greasy but definitely mouth watering comfort food. First time and we'll definitely return to try the rest of the menu. The waffles are perfectly flavored with cornbread but still light and airy. Coffee we strong and well-balanced. - Chicken & Cornbread Waffles - Southern Breakfast Sorry about the photo. We'd already started splitting the waffles before taking the photo.

Wild Chive has the best vegan brunch in Long Beach. I had been waiting so long for their brick and mortar and so glad it is close to where I live. I love their avocado grilled cheese, waffelito, and shroom city burger. The mushroom burger is the best plant based burger I have ever had. It’s very satisfying and hits the spot. The homemade mushroom patty is super flavorful and the beer braised onions add another level. They always have a weekend special too. I wish they were open more than Fri-Sun. I would definitely get lunch from there more often. The staff is always super friendly and great when I come in for pickup.

A little pricey but so damn good. Lifetime vegan and first time google reviewer. I just had to for this one. Best vegan restaurant in terms of pure deliciousness. Coming back to say that the staff is also incredible. Never been disappointed or even slightly bothered. What a killer spot.

Great vibes from the team, great location (can't wait to sit in), and great food. This "B"LT with cheese and avocado on soft and buttery Texas toast is a real winner. Long Beach is lucky to have another A1 restaurant like Wild Chive.

It seems to have been a hardware store or garage at one time. It is really is updated very nicely. The old garage door opening is there with seating for a fresh air outdoorsy type feeling. There is also outdoor seating. Inside all upscale type interior. "Alfredo" was our excellent waiter with additional staff serving us. One thing we noticed with Alfredo was his apron with leather shoulder straps and the heavy denim material with lots of pockets and metal shoulder strap holders He was the sharpest looking waiter we have seen in a long time. He could have been a model for selling that Aporn. The Monte Cristo sandwiches for me, have always been a mystery. This restaurant has their own house version of it. I ate all of mine and their accompanying salad. My grand daughter was expecting a different "traditional" version of the sandwich. So keep in mind, restaurants have different versions of that sandwich. Also, they make their own version of butter. I loved it, but my wife who has never liked cheese, didn't like that version. I love cheese and cream..so to me the house version of their butter was a solid 5. Parking is a bit hard to find..this area of Long Beach is parking congested. The restaurant does have a drop off area for those that can not walk any distance. We took advantage of that drop off side street area for my wife, who uses a Walker aka Rollator. Over all we liked the location and interior of the restaurant and service. I liked all their food, wife did not like the house butter, but did like her french toast . Grand Daughter did not expect the house Monte Christo. I liked my Monte Christo sandwich, but noticed the spicyness of the sausage. We sat inside by the original garage door opening..it gave us the affect of dining outside but we were really inside, with a shaded environment. Overall a good experience. I will return again and try their mushroom patty plate. .

We absolutely love this place! Food is so good, true comfort food. I love the ambiance and the open door to the street. It's really sad that they're closing in December. We're going to go as much as we can until they are gone for good.

Amazing food with wonderful customer service to match! I had arrived from Garoua and stopped by with my family for brunch. Vegan food should always be this delicious! The cook, Alfredo our waiter and just team overall were so attentive, charismatic and made our visit amazing. We ordered so much food because it just sooooo delicious. Thank you - highly recommend!!!!!

Holy cow this place is the best. I've literally eaten my way across the US and this is stand - alone as my favorite brunch. I make the drive from San Diego to Long Beach monthly (yes monthly) for this one meal. I experienced terrific service here, the spot is so cute, but the food is next level. Their sausage, their scramble, the coffee, the meatball sub that was on special, I can't even name 'em all but I highly recommend.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I've loved the Wild Chive since they were doing pop ups in a coffee shop and the back of the retail store in downtown LB. Man, they have the best vegan Vietnamese iced coffee I've ever had in my life, better than any non-vegan ones I've tried. Their brunch menu is soo delicious and has everything for anyone no matter what they're in the mood for. I love the environment and the staff are always very nice and friendly. Parking at this location can be somewhat annoying but I usually always find street parking or by the residential. Other than that, I always always highly recommend this place for the best vegan food ever!

Slowly, I am slowly being converted to being able to stomach vegan food. My friend really loved this place and convinced me to come out with him to try it out. Little did he know this was already on my bookmark list to try. Their location is difficult to find parking for if you do not live in the area and can walk there, but it is in a very visible corner lot. They have windows to their kitchen, kind of like the DinTaiFung concept where you can see them preparing food if you are waiting on the outside. The interior is really nice and I loved the outdoor seating. The staff are all really kind and attentive as well. We shared the fried pickles; slightly a touch too salty, but pretty darn delicious with the dipping sauce. I was very impressed with their vegan biscuit, I definitely wanted more when that was all devoured. For myself I got the banh mi. I appreciated the vegan twist they put towards the sandwich. They kept the key ingredients and added vegan bacon and tofu patty. My friend's breakfast sandwich was everyone's favorite and I will definitely be ordering that the next time I go!.

Late 2023: menu seems to be shrinking a bit, losing the country breakfast, breakfast bahn mi and other earlier options. Replacement of breakfast potatoes with french fries is a loss. Still great local business. 2022: Best vegan restaurant in Long Beach, with great owners and customer service and fun atmosphere. A little bread-heavy, but everything very flavorful and delicious, creative, and reasonably priced.

Parking can be a little tough depending on what time you go but it is very good and worth it. I had the stuffed French toast and glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff was attentive and kind and we didn't feel rushed.

One one the best fried “chicken” sandwiches I’ve had, vegan or otherwise. The bun was nicely toasted, the sauce was on point, even the salad was stand-out—perfectly dressed. Don’t hesitate to try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful people at "The Wild Chive" in dtlgb. The the wild shroom burger is by far one of the best we've ever tried and we've been everywhere. The cripsy zucchini sticks are awesome. The Monte Cristo is like being held and cuddled by a warm gentle giant .. 😁 Will be back on my next cheat day. Or sooner. Idk.

Last stop on our way back to Arizona. We only hit up vegan restaurants this trip, and this by far was the best one. Very nice staff, AMAZING Vietnamese coffee ever!!!! Alfredo was very nice, and knowledgeable about the area. Hands down the most delicious vegan monte cristo ever made!!! I'm so glad we made this our last stop. Thank you 😊

If you're looking for an amazing vegan brunch or lunch spot in southern california, you can't go wrong with this place! While it's a shame that they aren't open for dinner, their delicious brunch/lunch items more than make up for it. I've been here countless times and each time I've tried something different, I've been blown away. From the french toast to the pancakes, waffles, BLT sandwiches and benaign dessert, everything is top notch. It's honestly hard to pick a favorite dish! While the prices are on the high side, I believe it's worth it especially for those with dietary restrictions. I do hope they lower their prices a bit but the quality of the food makes it worth the cost. Overall, I highly recommend and I know I'll be back again and again just like I have been for so long.

The real star of the meal was the singular pancake we ordered (not pictured). It had the slightest crisp on the outside and was pillowy on the inside, with the right balance of savory and sweet. I'd do a full stack next time and I'm not typically a pancake person.

The vegan patty melt was great, the breakfast scramble a bit saltier but tasty as well. Nice staff.

Lovely restaurant to go with friends. They have indoor and outdoor seating. And reservations are required for the weekend. Very friendly and understanding staff. I had an allergy issue and they handled it beautifully and with a lot of grace. It was also a friend's birthday and they brought a little treat out for them unprompted which was to our delight and so nice of them. I went with two friends who are not vegan and they loved the food. They also raved about the coffee. The only thing I got a photo of was the fried pickles and that was after we already grabbed some. (highly recommend them too!)

Virginia Coglianese

The food is so good! Like… SO GOOD! The Montecristo is legitimately the best vegan breakfast item I’ve ever had in my ten years as a vegan. Actually, might be the best breakfast item I’ve had in forty years of life! :) I travel a lot and always look to support fully vegan establishments where ever I go. I tend to try multiple places verses going back to the same place multiple times (if possible. Many places have very limited vegan options), but I’m making an exception here. I will be back. Probably later today. Definitely tomorrow. :) The Long Beach area has many vegan options and many of them are very good, this one just may be the best of them! 5 out of 5 Would definitely recommend Will be back.

Absolutely delicious food, still thinking about it regularly five days later. I had the BLT and shared the fried pickles and some fries with my partner, who had the pancake, sausage and tofu scramble. Everything was genuinely delightful in both texture and taste except the sausage, which was extremely peppery. Texture was still great, so I'm not docking a star. Friendly service, comfortable seating, chill repurposed barn style atmosphere. A QR code menu always gets a tut and an eyeroll but again service was superb so no stars lost. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Beautiful restaurant! Fantastic food. The Monte Cristo is still a favorite. Today we tried Zucchini Sticks and fried Chikun and French Toast. Took food and an ice coffee to go

The perfect brunch spot. The atmosphere is wonderful. With the garage door open, it feels like you’re right by the water with the nice breeze blowing in. Forgot to take pictures of the food, it was just that delicious. My only critique is that I wish they had more gluten free options but the cornbread waffle monte cristo was delicious, nonetheless. All staff was friendly, highly recommend making a reservation.

Came here for the first time with my friend, and neither of us are vegan, but we really enjoyed ourselves. I’m still thinking about the fried chickn sammie i had, the contents of the burgers did often slip out of the burgers but that was fine, a small price to pay for a great meal!! And the workers are all very sweet and accommodating, always checking in on us.

Weekly spot to enjoy the MOST AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS vegan eats! Recommend that you always get the special if there is one! One of the agua frescas, coffees, or a choice from the variety of other drink selections are a must have. The photos are from different times, mostly specials. Anything on the menu is the right choice - just depends on what you're feeling. The ENTIRE staff is great! Fun, attentive, and absolutely the best team. Do your tummy and taste buds a favor and visit the Wild Chive! The art hanging and on the walls, and entire restaurant decor are the vibes!

Had brunch here on a Sunday morning and it was busy, but no wait. Our server was so pleasant and kept our waters full. I had one of the best micheladas that I have ever had and my country breakfast was tasty! There was a bit of a dog kerfuffle while we were there, but the staff didn't seem rattled by it and other than that a perfect brunch!

Awesome vegan comfort food. Nice people. It is my favorite place to eat in Long Beach I went there again on August 4. The lady at the desk smiled and handed me a menu so I could choose my lunch. I told her what I wanted and she took me to the counter and helped me place my order. She invited me to have a seat while they prepared my lunch. I was wondering how I was going to hear them call my name. No worries. When my order was ready she brought it to my table.

When a vegan foodie friend came to visit California recently, we went here for brunch, and it was fabulous. The service was great, our server was so cool, and the decor and vibe were on point. ALL of the food was so good, including the fried pickles! I got the French toast and cleaned my plate. My friend also loved her breakfast entree, made of tofu. I would definitely return, and I’m not even a vegan. Check the hours - they aren’t open late. Parking is just street parking and in the residential neighborhood.

I'm not a vegan but I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants to give vegan food a chance. One of the best vegan brunch spots that I've had! I got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and it was amazing. They made it with house made condensed oat milk and I can't wait to go back to have more! We also got the Monte Cristo, Zucchini bites and Mushroom burger! So so good!!

C

Ok, I’m going to start with I am NOT a vegan and this place is phenomenal! The service was great, the workers are super nice and food is just.. yum! Their cheese tastes like dairy cheese, I could not tell the difference. I didn’t care for the “bacon”, it had the consistency of thin jerky and the bland taste and altogether just didn’t pair well for me. However, the “BLT” sandwich was still amazing without it. I will come here every time I want to eat more green 💚 next time I will have to ask for my coffee to come out hotter, besides that my time here was nothing shy of perfection.

First time we try this place and it has become our new fav brunch/lunch spot in Long Beach right away! The food is super tasty and healthy, definitely one of the best vegan food I ever had in LA. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. To top it off, the patio tables and indoor/outdoor space make it very dog friendly which was perfect for our dog (it’s also 5min from Rosie’s beach, so very convenient!)

Came for takeout brunch AND dine-in dinner. Had to try out the different items. Food was so good! Especially the Southern fried chik'n sammie and the fried pickles. Only complaint were that the beignets are pretty yeasty. Don’t get them.

A+++ Amazing Vegan dishes, Amazing customer service & awesome design & decor. We started with the fried zucchini and after I took the first bite I knew we were in for an experience. The flavor and texture of the zucchini was perfect. The homemade marinara and aoili dipping sauces made it hard not to double dip. I had the chicken and waffles. Soft and moist waffle and chicken had me thinking it was real. The habanero sauce was flavorful but not very spicy. My wife had the BLT; I had a piece and it was outstanding. All the different flavors between two perfectly toasted bread was delicious until the last bite. The food is very reasonably priced considering its vegan food and the amazing staff & eclectic atmosphere. We are planning on heading to LBC just to eat here again.

Great vegan restaurant with some fun plays on popular street comfort foods. Made a reservation online around noon for 7:30 that night (mid-week). Overall was a lovely experience. Definitely coming back. We ordered the tofu Bahn Mi bowl, the fried mushroom Po Boy, the fried pickles, and added a side of fries to the Po Boy. A lot of fried food, but it was done perfectly - the last of the fried pickles were still crunchy at the end of the meal. The mushrooms in the Po Boy were marinated such that my girlfriend (who usually does not like mushroom earthy flavors) thought they were great. The fries are also worth mentioning: perfect; crunchy on the outside to the last bite, but creamy on the inside. Looking forward to future meals here.

I loved my Lunch/Brunch. The Vietnamese Coffee was perfect and balanced. I had a Monte Cristo sandwich with fries. Also excellent. While it’s always difficult to balance plant based food to their meat counterparts I think they did well. Could have been a tad Smokey -er. It was still well made and the jam was excellent. Next time a bring a bunch of friends to enjoy this local goodness. And did I mention the sweeten condensed oat milk was made on site? Bravo.

I believe I had the breakfast Sammy with a side a fruit, and drip coffee. Ordered it to go. It was amazingly good. I did feel the vegan sausage was over seasoned or salted but for a vegan dish I can’t complain. The vegan cheese is the best I had so far including the egg substitute. Would I come back again, yes I would. Something I do recommend to improve service is an offer of sugar & milk with the coffee. They did bring it over once we asked for it.

The Bahn Mi Bowl is decent, very filling. The Cilantro overwhelms the meal. The Coconut rice is like a carrier for the ingredients. I request my meal without the beer batter so my review is about the meal without it. I like the way the coconut and cucumbers diffuse the sauce textures. The Crispy tofu is good in a spoonful with the other ingredients and breaks the dulling of the cucumber and Cilantro flavors. The price for the meal is okay. The customer service is on point. The store is open with a decent amount of spacing between seats, wide with high ceilings, and has artwork on the walls.

The ambiance inside this place is pretty dope and the staff is just part of the extraordinary vibes you pick up walking into the restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating available…highly suggest that you book a reservation at all possible so worth the wait for the delights you’ll be enjoying here! Did I say the staff is wonderful already…everyone in such a great mood and teamwork notice from afar…from your waiters to the kitchen and bartenders of course we can’t forget Wendy she’s the owner and will be greeting you if you’re lucky at the door! I tell you I waited to long to visit this place and now…I can’t stop thinking of those delicious not greasy at all Zucchini’s and house dressing deliciously fresh and crunchy you can hear and taste! Our server Kesic was so friendly and very informative with the questions I had for him everything on point and all the food was perfect for sharing so Momma and I could try some of each others items..I ordered the Mushroom burger it was different because I’m not vegan but absolutely delicious goodness knowing I was having something healthier made the experience even more joyful. Mom was suggested to try the Monte Cristo…the bartender Wally suggested that and of course the zucchini’s which was a great hit…yes I got my bite of that Monte Cristo and let me tell you it was like having Mac n cheese with sweetness from the marmalade but crispy from the bread it was yummy! Chicken and French Toast was delicious…it’s not Chicken but it’s coated and deep fried crispy goodness you wouldn’t miss the meat…believe me it was so delicious we ate that left the French toast to go…we had an extraordinary experience and I absolutely loved everything about this place! Thanks for the sweet welcoming the suggestions..the service and of course the Delicious food plus the love and attention you all gave my momma was sweet…🌻Gracias this Sunflower means I will definitely be returning and highly recommend you all to try if you’re visiting Long Beach it’s a must try…Wild Chive you’ll love it I guarantee you sure will…thanks to all the staff the cooks who came out to bring their creations my hats off to you all🌻💯🙌❤️oh before I forget if you like spice …you have to try their habanero sauce 🔥❤️my favorite to pair with my spicy 🌶️ needs

You have to make a reservation to dine in the restaurant, but it’s so worth it because The Wild Chive has The BEST vegan breakfast / brunch in Long Beach! I usually share the crispy zucchini sticks with my partner (who said the pancakes were delicious) and have the stuffed french toast with a Vietnamese coffee, so yum! If they’re open for lunch or dinner check that out too. Honestly everything on the menu is good.

Amazing food. Great service went during brunch time. Reservations are required on weekends. Use Tock. No bottomless mimosas but that’s ok. Will be going next time I’m in Long Beach.

One of my most favorite vegan spots in the country, I always make it a point to stop at The Wild Chive when I'm anywhere near Long Beach. They used to have an incredible monte cristo sandwich that I'm still dreaming about. Pa's Cubano is a good substitute though. The Vietnamese coffee kept me going all afternoo. The always-kind and helpful staff make every visit awesome!

Absolutely LOVED our visit here - the food was fantastic, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the playlist playing was fantastic. I was signing along as we sat there for almost 3 hours visiting with family, and the staff never minded, and in fact they made sure to keep us hydrated and well taken care of the whole time. The fried pickles and the oat milk pancakes were absolutely fantastic - some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my 43 years in this life. Absolutely wonderful!

Absolutely adore this spot! The Vietnamese iced coffee is the best of the best and the beignets are delicious! I'd also recommend the chicken caesar salad, it's the best salad in LA. They used to have a mac and cheese on the menu well worth the 1 hour and 45 minute drive I'd make to long beach just for it but they took it off the menu a while ago and me and my friends never stop hoping they'll bring it back. All in all it's one of the best restaurants in SoCal, there's a single vegan restaurant where I could claim I like everything I've ever ordered besides The Wild Chive. It's also beautiful inside but I've never dined in because they require reservations and I'm not good with stuff like that so it would be nice if they allowed walk ins since each time I've come to pick up my order the place is pretty empty. If they had more days open, longer hours, and mac and cheese back on the menu and I'd be coming here soooo much more, traffic and all because it's just that good.

Edited March 16: I love their food like crazy, but they are open 4 days a week for about 4 hours a day and they stopped doing takeout for a while. I don't know how to support a restaurant that I can't buy food from 😭 Original review: The stuffed French toast. I've had it about 7 times now and there's nothing quite like it. GF version with thick corn waffles is also a good flavor. Presentation for takeout is always on point, employees are always nice.

It looks like it would be an excellent eating experience when you come in: the cooks are behind a glassed in kitchen, and look fully staffed. On a Sunday morning, any other breakfast restaurant would be packed; this place? Not so much. Dog friendly, even inside the restaurant instead of just the patio. Horrible coffee, that was lukewarm when it got to the table. It's a vegan restaurant, so you're keeping that in constant mind as you use the oatmilk creamer and stevia packets and brown sugar for sweetener. The pancake was okay, and I hear their sandwiches are good. They make a faux scrambled egg dish with tofu that is mildly seasoned. I hope they can survive, but it'll be by revamping their menu.

It was ok, a little dry for my taste but over decent flavors, well put together, however didn't wow me. Not sure I'd go again tbh, but the staff was super helpful, fast, and friendly.

El lugar esta muy padre pero la comida no me gusto ni ami ni ami esposo, solo el waffle estaba rico... se ve mas rico de lo que sabe, si se que es mas nutritivo pero nada que ver con lo que me imagine... i got the breakfast in bread, the yellow thing tastes very weird. The montecristo was a little better but still not good for me. The waffle was the best. It takes a while to get your food and thats understandable. I really wouldn’t recommend to people who don’t eat healthy. Also pretty pricey, but what can i say? It’s California

The food was OK, but we had to wait for 40 minutes until we got our order, and sitting on hard benches wasn’t fun.

I want to love this restaurant for so many reasons, and will be giving it a second chance this weekend. Hoping for better results on my next visit! The entire menu looks absolutely delicious! I started at the top and ordered the Monte Christo sandwich, with tots. My son ordered the fried pickles. We were under a bit of a time crunch having only 50 minutes to order, eat, and pay, but the first 20 were spent waiting for waters and to place our order. The pickles came quickly and were still crisp yet piping hot, and super tasty! The accompanying sauce is excellent! Very well made - they're going for quality not quantity here. After about 15 more minutes of waiting I started getting nervous about time. At 40 minutes into the visit, I asked for the check and for my Monte Cristo to go. It arrived well packed with plenty of condiments and I scarfed down a few quick bites before rushing out the door. The problem we experienced was that they were out of the bread for the sandwich, so the server kindly explained that they would substitute with a gluten-free corn waffle instead. What I actually received was more like a sophisticated McGriddle than a Monte Cristo, because they also swapped out the intended deli 'meat' with some sort of soggy breakfast sausage. Comparing these two sandwiches, I don't think it would be remotely fair to say they are a version of each other. They are completely different sandwiches and deserve their own listings on the menu because they're not interchangeable substitutions. Since I had my heart set on a Monte Cristo, I was very disappointed with what I received, but had I wanted a healthier McGriddle I would have been overjoyed. (As a leftover though, the waffle gets very dry and crumbles easily.) I'm hoping they expand the menu to include a vegan Reuben sandwich, and judging by how inventive their offerings seem I know they can pull it off! It was nice to spend the time sitting in a place where all of the patrons seemed genuinely happy. Lots of dates going on here, and they're very inclusive culturally so everyone feels welcome. :)

I used to come every weekend but I feel like you murdered a loved one, you killed the vegan bahn mi the only unique menu item you had and now the fries are from frozen rather then twice fried. To top it off the burrito was plain and boring af. Way to air mail it in. From a extremely dissatisfied customer who's been loyal since the pop up days

This place has my sympathy. While decent iterations of classic dishes are showcased, the actual consumption of them felt like a punch that comes at you with full force only to gently love tap you once it reaches you. This attempt at a slice of safety for people of unfortunately targeted demographics is admirable, noble, and necessary, but it doubles as the bars of it's own very cage. This place is not for everyone, maybe that was part of their initial agenda and that's fine. I'd love to see this place realize that it has wings and actually use them in the near future.

The staff and servers were very kind but unfortunately the best tasting thing was the chive dip that came with the fries + OJ. The donuts were very hard and dry, the mushroom burger was over salted and a bit bitter and finally the breakfast sammie was lacking any flavor.

J
Joseph McElmeel

Staff and atmosphere are kind and cool (minus waiting ten minutes for a water refill), but the best thing we consumed was the Aqua Fresca. Mushroom burger is over-salted, has the worst of the store bought bacon on it, and lacks any interesting flavor. Tatar tots were okay, but uninspired. The salad was a British type of salad (eg Tree leaves). We didn’t eat any of the breakfast desert items (French toast, pancakes, etc), but those do look better than what we had. Doubt I’ll risk coming here again and it won’t make my best of Vegan places in the world bookmark.

I’ve tried to support this place but they seem to not want my business. Drove 45 minutes here twice. Once they were closed on their regular business day, without any post on social media or anything. Just a sign on the door saying that there was a private event. Second time they “ran out of food” and only could only accept orders from reservations . The staff was not empathetic nor cared. I wish them the best as I know that the climate for restaurants, especially vegan restaurants, are difficult right now. But I will longer be attempting to make it down there try their food.
