The food is delicious super tasty, filled with flavor. Also great customer service very nice, I got the taiwanese popcorn chicken(which is a little spicy) and trio dumplings definitely recommend, i will be coming back to try more😋

I ordered the popcorn chicken and pork and chive dumplings. Safe to say I’m coming back here. It was extremely good. One warning i have for customers is my partner ordered the mild popcorn chicken, and it was really hot. I recommend getting the basic popcorn chicken with creamy asian bbq sauce.

Got the crispy chicken rice bowl and it’s yummy (crispy and tender), friendly staff, good vibes, and good value

Went here on a random day with My friends we got a whole feast! , we were starving ! And this place hit the spot in every way, the food was very flavorful and they were pretty fast with their service, we had a little bit of everything since we did family style and we were all very pleased with the main courses and the shareable dishes we got ! I definitely recommend, live in Brooklyn but definitely coming back!

Their dishes never disappoint. Staff responds promptly. Prices match experience. Yumpling combines trendy style with attentive service. The savory dishes we tasted were fantastic, artfully displayed and well-matched. Employees combined outstanding assistance with genuine kindness and giving nature. My return is a certainty.

Super nice service and dumplings are great!!! Highlights are def the pork and chive dumplings and the lu rou fan!!! They do not skimp out on the filling which I appreciate, very good value, would go for all pork next time!

Authentic Taiwanese food! Had to have their popcorn chicken! So juicy and crispy. Their beef noodle soup is also pretty delicious. Very generous portion of beef. Mango shaved ice is good. Probably the classic Taiwanese flavor is better. Small shop with several tables to sit down and eat. Very friendly service and quick food delivery.

Plenty of food options including 4 types of dumplings, shaved ice, boba, rice, and noodle dishes. Small but clean restaurant with a single clean restroom. I think a lot of college kids come here after for a good hearty bite.

Great food and portion. Got the pork chop and loved it. Slightly salty on the veggies/condiments, but wasn’t too bad. Pretty close to what you can get in Taiwan.

My first time at this restaurant and I am impressed. I ordered the 8 piece popcorn chicken and a side of garlicy cucumbers 🥒 Both dishes were excellent. The popcorn chicken was perfectly fried. It was tender. The garlic cucumbers were very good. Not too much garlic. Perfect blend. I will definitely visit again and recommend this spot!

Definitely coming back here again! The service is very fast, the place is very clean, and the food was delicious and filling. They put cilantro in the beef noodle soup and the pork & chive dumpling which made them so flavorful. I probably wouldn't get the dumplings again because they're pricey, but the noodles were decently priced.

We’re incentivized to leave them a review, but I’m doing it of my own free will because this place deserves it. They don’t even have to bribe me! That’s how good they are!!!! Order the beef noodle soup! The soup is so flavorful, the beef is melt-in-your-mouth soft, and the round noodles are just the right al-dente texture. I would even say it’s better than the bowl I had in Taiwan!!! You can’t go wrong with the popcorn chicken either because they are so tender, juicy, and seasoned. (Just get the non-spicy if you can’t handle spice because the mild almost took me out!!! 😭😭😭) I am just in awe of how great this place tasted because of how inconspicuous it looks. I am definitely returning to this spot if I’m ever traveling out here again!!!!

We ordered a pork rice bowl and a fried chicken sandwich and both were amazing! Good portions, great service, and a small seating area with nice atmosphere. They also have public restrooms. Spent $35 for a great lunch for 2. Would definetly come here again.

Excellent fried chicken sandwich! Friendly staff and great offering for the area. Got pork chive dumpling and zha jiang noodles as well. The sauce for the noodles is sweeter than my mom’s (she makes it savory and spicy) but the noodles are so bouncy!!

Cute Taiwanese counter-service restaurant with a decent size menu. The food portions are pretty big and affordable, although some of the dishes tasted too salty or oily.

Yumpling is one of the more authentic Taiwanese restaurants that I've been to in NYC, and I do like to stop by for a nice meal whenever I'm in the area. The restaurant itself is a bit small and doesn't have the most seats, but the counter service and food prep is pretty quick, and table turnover is correspondingly quick, too. I usually order one of the bian dangs here -- I was admittedly a bit put off by the DIY nature thereof haha but got over that. I really like their fried pork chop (classic Taiwanese bento) -- nicely fried without being too salty or soggy -- and I almost always opt for the lotus roots for the veggie side (really crunchy and delicious). The braised egg was a particular highlight :) I've also had the lu rou fan before (another Taiwanese classic) and while it was fine, I did find it to be a bit salty/oily, esp as you get to the bottom of the rice. Price point is a bit high, but not too crazy for the neighbourhood/NYC in general. I also have seen them post some (maybe seasonal) shaved-ice-esque desserts (which look pretty authentic haha) that I'd love to try sometime!

I would highly recommend the shoestring fries if you're a fan of thin, crispy fries. I liked the crispness of it and still had some potato on the inside. Wouldn't go during lunch time rush, unless you have at least 25 minutes to wait. I like to ensure premium crispiness, so I removed the chicken right after I got it to prevent sogginess. Lightly seasoned, which might be bland to some, but I would order again.

Wouldn’t go back for the dumplings but would return for that whopper of a chicken sandwich. What a surprise that was! Dumplings: meh Spicy chicken sandwich: yay! The dumplings were fine but pricey and didn’t hit the mark on a traditional dumpling I was hoping for. They’re served in an odd sauce bath, the chili oil (the we had to pay extra for) is bizarrely sweet, and the filling is a bit dense (maybe the meat:veggie balance was off). In the end we made our own dumpling sauce at home (including “normal” chili oil). The tray of dumplings in this photo was $20 - $23 with tax and a cup of chili oil. Would recommend ditching the sauce bath and upgrading the dipping sauce provided, or offering a sauce bar that customers could use to make their own sauce. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Bright interior with a handful of booths. Speedy service. Dumpling portions are generous. Ordered the crispy chicken bian dang with a healthy spice level and it was perfect! Staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be stopping here again.

Nice chill small restaurant serving good Taiwanese food! Got the cucumbers, popcorn chicken, and Yumplings here. Popcorn chicken is super juicy, would definitely recommend.

Mediocre dumplings, nice service, very casual. I think their reviews rating is so high because they give anyone who leaves a good review a free drink. The dumplings were big, but had a lot of oil and the flavors were a little flat.

Sabih Rahman

It's currently 4.8 stars because reviews get you a free drink. They use low quality chicken for the sandwich which is oozing injected salt water. The breading on the chicken is also a bit thicker than I would expect. The portion of pork in the lou ro fan is abysmal and the rice could have been warmer.

We love yumpling and my husband orders it regularly for lunch/dinner. Unfortunately quality has gone significantly down over the past year with a lot of inconsistency in food being delivered. Our recent order of popcorn chicken came with no basil and no crunchy coating at all. Felt like it was just cut chicken thigh being fried with no breading. A bit disappointed in value considering the higher price point.
