Red Berry Coffee Bar Los Altos Reviews
Outstanding service!! I went in earlier today and I had the most wonderful experience with Jack! Very helpful and kind person! Amazing atmosphere and a great visit. Will definitely be going again.
Love this place. People working there are awesome and kind. The coffee is excellent. The highest quality. My husband and I are there everyday and still love it.
Lovely place. Loved the coffee, the food and the vibe. Staff was super friendly. My egg whites sandwich was delicious and healthy. They had good quality beans for espresso.
Excellent espresso. Lavender, orange, and rose flavor sweeteners are sweetner free!!!!! This makes 3 unique flavors accessible to those who prefer/need no sugar or artificial sweeteners in their diet. As someone who loves espresso based drinks ( loved the cappuccino and the Gibraltar here) but also avoids sugar and artificial sweeteners- this was a real delight. I had a lavender orange hwc cappuccino. It was perfection. Great staff. In charming downtown.
As a self professed Coffee Snob I find it somewhat difficult to find good coffee while traveling. I look at reviews and pictures before visiting a new coffee shop, and I'm still always wary about my choice until I actually get my drink. I usually judge a coffee shop by the quality of cappuccino. Red Berry knows what's up... with their La Mazarco Strada they served a nearly perfect cappuccino. Great espresso too. Definitely coming back. Thanks guys!
Solid coffee quality. I ordered a cappuccino that had a nice foam and fresh taste. There is wifi in the cafe, enough seating outside and upstairs with good lighting and space to do work. Would appreciate having prices on the menu because I ordered a coffee and a egg white breakfast sandwhich that totaled $20 before tip.
Update: Cappucino Monday morning was great, and the croissant was more to my liking than Manresa, Midwife, or Maison Alyzee's (they have changed to all midwife baker, but other than the oft burnt almond croissants, the other Midwife croissants have improved on the burnt issue). Flaky, but not burnt, perfect layers, no burnt shortening odor, tasted fresh, no need to reheat. (Which is a plus, bc reheated croissants becomes greasy puddles) (11 months ago) If you are feeling an avocado toast for brekkie or lunch, give Red Berry's protein rich version a try. You get a poached egg, beets, chickpeas, and ricotta, as well as an artfully sprinkled microgreen/edible flower mix. You also get a choice of mixed fruit or salad. Being a lover of fruit, I always choose the mixed fruit, but it has been a 'mixed' bag. I appreciate RB gives you grapes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, instead of the more common and often maligned apples, grapes, and cantaloupe mix (which are often underripe or slimy). The grapes were excellent today, crisp and sweet, but the blueberries, blackberries, strawberries were mushy and/or bruised. If I had dined-in, the customer service is great, and I am sure RB would've replaced my mixed fruit upon request. On a personal note, I like that the bread is toasted golden, as some places char it or leave it soft. I do prefer a leaner bread, but if you love rich brioche, sturdy challah slices, you will love RB's avo toast. Good to know: The slice can be bigger or smaller, it's the luck of the draw!
The cafe has a nice ambiance and is quite busy on Saturday mornings. I saw on their online menu that they have a vegan breakfast bagel sandwich, but when I visited they confirmed they didn't have any vegan breakfast items. A bit disappointing. I ended up getting an avocado toast by removing eggs and cheese on it. Would love to see them add/bring back vegan breakfast/ brunch items.
I have been living in California for 18 years, with my husband on weekends we go to different areas of the Bay Area and Los Altos is one of my favorites. We had lunch and stayed for coffee. Today we tried this cafeteria: The interior is very warm, I order a mocha and a matcha with ice and we sit on the wide terrace facing the street. It has many tables with umbrellas, the wifi is good, the atmosphere is very calm and the service is very fast. From Monday to Friday it opens at 7:30am, on weekends it opens at 8am and closes at 4pm. I highly recommend Red Berry. Surely on my next visit to Los Altos I will return to this place.
This place is super cute for working in! Tons of outlets and I liked their egg white sandwich and smoked salmon sandwich - super unique tastes and the owners here are quite nice. The wifi speed is super fast and there’s ample seating. I wasn’t as big of a fan of their vanilla lattes but everything else was really quaint and cozy.
Oddly disorganized service, three different people talking about taking my order before one actually did. Ordered the affogato. This is one full-scoop (or two small) of ice cream everywhere else, but here it is two full-sized scoops. That is way too much ice cream for an espresso shot. The espresso was strangely, excessively bitter as well. There is seating upstairs, and some downstairs in a disjointed arrangement. Too much stiff competition in the area to return.
Average. Came here for an early morning pastry and coffee. The cappuccino was ok, but avoid the sticky bun! It is incredibly bland and honestly not the best way to start your morning. They play some relaxing tunes and the vibes aren't bad. Overall, nothing extraordinary, a decent (safe) spot to get a good coffee and some food to start your day.
Dropped by after reading reviews about the variety of espresso blends offered. Consulted cashier on which espresso blend is offered for the day. The cashier responded with confusion and checked with the barista on duty. The barista on duty reluctantly pointed out on the only blend offered for the day. Ordered cortado in house. The regular whole milk wasn’t frothed correctly and the barista serve with the failed latte art. The Tico blend tasted very dark and bitter with hint of black berries (May be due to over extracting). They offered WiFi as well as seating in the patio and upstairs. Overall, it seems like no care was given to the customer and the coffee that’s being served (refer to the pic of the cortado) as the cortado was definitely prepared with lack of care.
