Totally Wow experience! All the crew members were amazing and gentle, plus the food taste, size and prices 1000/100

From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. There was no wait at all, which was such a nice surprise! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the service was genuinely great from start to finish. The vibe was really nice too comfortable, inviting, and just an overall great atmosphere. It made the whole experience even better.

We have been here several times, and we enjoyed the food here. We really like the grilled burbon oysters. However sometimes the oysters are big and huge while sometimes are super small. It’s like a hit or miss :) Garlic bread is another of our favorite. Salmon and beet salad 🥗, clean! Lobster linguine, pretty decent :) However service can be slow sometimes, depending on the server I guess. We had good experience with service too but the most recent one we were sitting for 10 minutes and no water/menu was served, we had to ask twice. And when we asked for the check, we also had to ask twice.

I just want to say that Alayna and the entire crew at the Rustic House Oyster Bar & Grill are always very friendly, the food is always delicious and the vibe is great! Whenever friends and family want to go out to eat and say “where should we go?” I always say “Rustic in Los Altos!” Alayna is a super star, she can take a table with 20+ people and not write anything down and remember even the smallest details. Best server award hands down! (Truly amazing!)

Have been a frequenter of this restaurant over the last few years. Food is always of great quality, especially when you want to taste fresh seafood. Staff are friendly and personable. Service is top notch, even when it’s busy. Ambience is welcoming. Always a great time having lunch/dinner here.

Rustic House in Los Altos is a cozy spot with a really inviting atmosphere. The braised mediterranean octopus was a standout — perfectly tender, and full of flavor. The sautéed scallops were another hit, buttery and delicate without being too heavy. The only miss for me was the fresh dungeness crab & lobster linguini. It didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the seafood was fresh, the overall dish lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for.. Still, it's definitely worth coming back — especially for the starters and deserts, which are clearly where Rustic House shines.

The first time here, same concept as Pacific Catch, BUT the food is way better, cocktails are awesome as well, very friendly waiters, and fresh seafood, i will definitely recommend this place

Phenomenal! Such a great location in downtown Los Altos. Cool bar area and outside patio. And the food… wow! We came with a party of six and everyone loved their food. Pizza, scallops, salmon, etc. All cooked to perfection. The cioppino: the broth was so good I was tempted to lick the bowl. Awesome service. All in all, an incredible meal and dining experience. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

They are not kidding when they say that their oysters were huge. We really enjoyed the oysters. Our child had pasta from the kiddie menu. We also had the hanger steak with chimichurri sauce, the steak was tender. The server we had was attentive and always checked if everything is ok from our table. The food came out longer than we expected but it was ok.

My friend and I had dinner last night at Rustic House Oyster Bar and Grill. We were just walk-ins but did not have to wait at all for a table. We had some baked oysters, rib eye, chicken and a risotto. The food is very good but Sarah's service was EXCELLENT ! Kudo's to you Sarah ! :) For dessert, we had the brownie (Sarah's called it...it was delicious) and I had an affrogato (also delicious) Sorry I did not take any photos. We simply just wanted to enjoy dinner. Side note. I REALLY love how the restaurant doesn't pressure you into the 18%, 22% or whatever tips. Sarah gave GREAT service and we tipped her well (as it should be ! :) Would I go there again ? Absolutely ! :)

I came here with my cousin on a recent visit. They have a half bottle of my favorite champagne Billecart Salmon which I never see and was perfect for the two of us. The food was great and our server was friendly and efficient. Overall great experience. It is more of a 4.5.

Went here for an early dinner this evening. We've eaten here several times and what we ate today was delicious. Had the grilled artichoke, lobster risotto and crab & lobster linguine. The risotto had a lot of lobster pieces and there was a lot of crab & lobster pieces in the linguine. We had the keylime pie for dessert and it was really good. Update from December 18th. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder, crab cakes, and lobster roll, and we ended with keylime pie. Everything was really good, and you can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. Kelly, our server and Luis the manager took really good care of us! Recent update, we sat at the bar and had a Bloody Mary, sautéed scallops, wild Alaskan cod tacos, and a Rustic crab melt. Again everything was really good!

Dined on the patio on a Friday night and it was a nice experience with friendly service. Minus a star because the oysters were not shucked cleanly and we were picking bits of shell off the meat. A half dozen oysters it was $21 and "oyster" is the second word in the name of the restaurant so I'd expect better execution. Wouldn't order oysters from here again. Thankfully the lobster roll and gumbo were a delicious redemption. The texture of the fries was A+, crispy outside and fluffy mashed potato interior. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert with raspberry sauce and the flavor was good but the texture was too uniform. It would benefit from some crunch in the form of topping or crust.

EDIT: i called the restaurant, like the “owner” said i should to “make things right”. the talk with said management just kept telling me “yeah you are the first person ever to have a complaint like that” i dunno man. they made me feel like i was lying about it. or that it wasent a big deal. that’s not cool man. like i said weve spent MANY special occasions here. they took my info and never called back. way to lose a loyal customer. we’ve been coming here for the past 5 years on my girlfriends birthday and our anniversaries. we always order the same things. today i took my gf on her birthday. Unfortunately she got food poisoning from the raw oysters (which we shared but maybe she grabbed a bad one i dunno) or the crab/lobster linguine (which was her entree).. it’s a real shame. hopefully it doesn’t get worse and have to take her to the hospital tonight.

The atmosphere is super fun and the manager was extremely warm and friendly, and the fish and chips I got would have been fantastic had the fish been seasoned at all. The fries were seasoned nicely but the fish was completely devoid of any flavor. I got it to go which is why I couldn’t let them know about this in person but I hope they fix it for the future.

Updated 9/25: Still didnt care for the scallops appetizer. Very tiny scallops and couldn't taste the bourbon. But the poke appetizer was outstanding!! Tried the crab and lobster again. Not as bad as last time - it was hot and not overly salted - but merely "ok." Desserts were outstanding - the lava cake was warm and gooey and the double chocolate brownie was one of the best I've ever eaten! Great service! One of the worst dinners ever, especially at $100 a person! Don't expect a light bourbon butter sauce for the scallop appetizer. It's a heavy, creamy, oversalted sauce, with so much pancetta that you.can barely taste the very flat scallops. The crab and lobster over pasta was a mushy mess. Again, over salted. Too many onions. Couldn't find the tasteless, frozen lobster. The COLD crab was dumped on top of the warm dish. Could barely eat it. My friend's ahi tuna was better, though it was barely warm. Chocolate cake was fine...if you like eating chocolate icing out of a can.

Great location in downtown Los Altos. Think a diner place meets fine dining. Food was not very interesting...old fashioned in a way and not very tasty. Definitely too expensive for this quality of food. The cocktails were good.

I came here for lunch last week and had an ok experience. I was keen to see what the oysters were like and with so much fresh seafood in Australia, invariably this would have big shoes to fill. The oysters were nice and we opted for a dozen mixed, which was more expensive and the waiter advised us up front of that. We were enjoying them and then after the 8th oyster, our mains were served. We found ourselves trying to finish the oysters quickly through a lack of space and not let our mains go cold. Not great. Other feedback on my pizza was provided directly. We had coffees at the end and I drink a lot of good espresso based coffee around the world. This was the most expensive double espresso I've had at $6. The latte was actually cheaper at $5.50. Positive - the atmosphere was very nice, with lots of light and space between tables and the wait staff were attentive.

Located at nice neighbourhood with outdoor sitting is lovely. Oysters a rather disappointing as there seems dry without any juices on the shelled oyster. The lobster pasta and steam mussel pot kind of too bland to my liking. The pizza with the sweet sauce on it a rather unique.. the lovely shrimp ceviche tacos is yummy. The crab cake is just average. Good varieties of wines to choose from and managed to finished 3 of it ! Great service and nice ambience to enjoy a good dinner .. close 830pm rather too early?

The spot is located in a nice area in Downtown Los Altos. I feel like Downtown Los Altos is a bit of a hidden gem. I think this place was okay; the food and the bang for the buck could have been better considering what it was going for but the atmosphere was nice. I would be more inclined to check out other spots in downtown Los Altos next time but it’s worth checking out if you’ve never been.

Atmosphere: Outside, the vibe was fantastic, thanks to the First Friday concert happening in Los Altos. It was lively and inviting. However, stepping inside, the restaurant felt surprisingly empty and lacked any real energy. 🍻 Drinks & Service: We ordered a beer along with our clam chowder. The beer took an unexpectedly long time to arrive, especially considering how few patrons were inside. When it finally did come, it was noticeably flat, almost entirely devoid of fizz. Our server also appeared quite frustrated, and I even overheard comments about another group's use of Apple Pay, which created a somewhat tense atmosphere. 🍲 Food (Clam Chowder): We only had the clam chowder, which was just okay. It didn't stand out positively or negatively. 🤔 Overall Experience: The stark contrast between the lively outdoor event and the flat, slow, and seemingly frustrated experience inside Rustic House Oyster Bar and Grill was quite jarring. The poor quality of the beer and the visible frustration from the staff were significant drawbacks. This was not a pleasant experience, and I will not be returning.

The atmosphere is really pretty here. The food is not great. I ordered the steak (pic attached) and the vegetables tasted like frozen veggies with pepper only—very bland. The steak was extremely hard and chewy although it was red in the center???? with a weird after taste. Was this an old steak? A steak left out too long? The service was not great. This restaurant lacks attentiveness. The lady who was wearing the blue shirt was not nice. No one checked on us to see how the food was, they didn’t ask what drinks we wanted or refilled the water jug. With how chewy the steak was and how peppery the vegetables were you’d think we’d at-least get water to wash it down. I don’t recommend this place
