Border Grill Los Angeles Reviews
The best nachos I’ve ever had. I’m in shock I’m saying this about airport nachos, but wow. Maybe I need to get out more. Maybe they’re just that good. Such a great value, huge portion, fresh ingredients never thought I would say this about anywhere at LAX. Thank you!!!!! Also try the chili melon marg. Completely on point 🤌
THIS IS THE BEST AIRPORT FOOD IVE EVER HAD!! Hot, fresh and ready quick!! I was dreading eating something at the airport until I saw my plate and took my first bite. I will look forward to coming back to eat here again!! I got the steak bowl.
Mum and I decided to dine here while we were waiting for our flight back home. The food arrived in the very timely manner- we had ordered two servings of the nachos and they were absolutely filled to the brim very filling and delicious✨🙏🏼 very happy with the service, thank you very much
The service was great! Thank you to Frank and Rosie for taking care of me. The food was a little pricey, but that seems to be typical airport restaurants. I do feel like I got my money's worth on the nachos!
An oasis amongst airport food. Excellent server and experience. I got the Yucatan pork burrito and added rice and beans. One of the best burritos I've had, with lime zest and a slaw of cabbage and corn. Everything was fresh and delicious, including the beans, rice, and tortilla chips. I had to shy from the alcohol menu because it was too pricey. Make sure you've got a full hour for the experience if you dine in. Will definitely stop by here again next time I'm in LAX!
Waitress Marisela was excellent! And the food was also excellent and very fast service! Chips with great salsa, and the steak asada quesadilla was spot on.
Writing a review as I am sitting at the bar of Border Grill (LAX , Bradley Terminal). This restaurant doesn’t deserve a rating of 2.6 !!! It delivers what we expect from an airport joint. We had a very tasty steak quesadilla, and 2 glasses of wine. Service was prompt and professional. Would not hesitate to return and I highly recommend. They have a good selection of beers , wines and spirits.
On a long layover at LAX, I had the chance to look at all the eateries and decided to have dinner here. I had the Chili Relleno Burger, and it was amazing. A great taste, and a good size, good value for the money, something you don't often get at any airport. The staff were very friendly and a ni e atmosphere with Mexican music playing softly and games on the tvs at the bar.. I'll definitely eat here next time.
Had a good experience here at Border Grill. The Chili Relleno burger sounded good but I really just wanted the burger patty and ordered two. They were the best two burger patties I’ve had that I didn’t cook myself. Cooked just right, juicy and perfect amount of salt. I went back and ordered two more to take on my long (14 hour) flight.
Stopped by Border Grill in LAX before our extra long flight. We were greeted with a warm and friendly smile by Angelina. Angelina provides excellent and professional customer service. The carne asada nachos are pure fire. And, so is the chicken BLT. Border Grill is a must stop by when you're at LAX and don't forget to say "hi" to Angelina.
My experience also did not reflect the low rating so it - someone made improvements I guess. This is the best airport meal I’ve ever had and the service was fast and efficient. Re commend steak quesadilla and the beans!
We split a Border Grill Bowl, and loved it. I enjoyed a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little IPA! The service was splendid.

This was decent fresh made food at the airport. Chili Relleño Burger was okay and not actually the best burger you might have had in a while, as someone said. It's on a torta roll which was lightly grilled with what tasted like butter. Not the best bread but not the worst, either. The chili relleño was mostly chili and cheese with very little egg. The lettuce and small dab of salsa and chipotle mayo makes it an interesting and filling meal, enough for 2 people. Comes with a VERY generous side of potato chips. Not a bargain but nothing in the airport is.
I am not sure why the rate is very Low for this restaurant but I personally like their food. The service is fast. The price being inside the airport is reasonable. The only drawback that I don’t like it the place super crowded and of course it’s a peak hour. Try to grab your food and hiding somewhere to enjoy your food. =)
Border Grill at LAX is a surprisingly great airport dining spot! I stopped in during a layover and was impressed by the flavorful food and quick service. The menu has a solid mix of modern Mexican options — fresh, bold, and satisfying. I ordered Steak Asada Burrito, and it hit the spot before my flight. Prices are what you’d expect for an airport, but the quality and portions made it worth it. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the space was clean with a nice sit-down vibe for an airport restaurant. Definitely one of the better food choices at LAX!
Punishingly expensive, but quite tasty, airport burritos deliver exactly what you would expect and not a drop more. Veggie option is the best available in Bradley
Ordered a carne asada burrito with guacamole, rice and beans which were both additional. Probably the Most expensive burrito I ever bought at $47. Contrary to other opinions and reviews the burrito was great. I self ordered so not sure about the reviews regarding staff being rude.
I paid $20 for a Yucatán pork burrito. It was expensive but tasty. The wait to pick it up was quite long. You order through a kiosk and just wait for your number to be called. Numbers don’t come out in exact order so it’s hard to gauge how much longer you might need to wait.
Food was legit good and just a little bit more reasonable than the other miserably overpriced places in LAX. Ordering system sucks, very few meaningful options on the screens and booze is stupid stupid expensive but on balance it's the best of the worst!
This might not be exactly a Mexican style restaurant. But it is OK while waiting for your flight at Los Ángeles International Airport (LAX) at TBIT. My experience was good and found good attention from friendly personnel here at Border Grill restaurant. Also, food is OK and better from other fast food restaurants down there. Atmosphere is that of the airport TBIT terminal as restaurant is open area. Again, in my opinion is better (as it has its own tables and seats) to have a meal down there and vs other options down there at this terminal airport. I have to mention... Even better service that the VIP lounges there as well.
The sangría was quite good and refreshing, especially for an airport spot. The place has a decent atmosphere and is convenient if you want to relax for a bit before a flight. Everything looked clean and well kept, and the staff was polite enough, though service is limited since you have to order at the counter. What felt a bit off is that they still expect a tip even without table service. Overall it’s fine for a quick drink and a short break during your time at LAX, but nothing particularly special.
Fish tacos ($23.99) were decent. Not bad for airport food. Ask for the spicy salsa! Good amount to be full for your flight. Could only find seating at the bar, friendly staff & quick. Food took about 15 min. 1 free refill for sodas.
My experience did not reflect their low rating. The self order kiosk did not have the breakfast burrito, so I asked and they placed my order for me. I thought the burrito was excellent and I really enjoyed the salsa. It actually had kick, I’d still enjoy more but definitely satisfied. The chips could use salt and that would have raised this rating.
The carne asada burrito was really good. Salsa was more heat than flavor. Prices are high (to be expected here I guess) plenty of menu options. Good seating and good service.

For an airport meal it was ok. 22 usd for basic a bowl. Salsa fresca was too spicy for me but I recognize my spicy limit is low. Beans didn't have any grains, just a cream, but taste is OK. Overall I can recommend

The chips are fantastic, the salsa is okay. I've eaten here twice passing through LAX. Chicken tortilla soup was a bit too oily. Today I had the steak burrito and it was good except one of the sections of steak was a little tough and I had to take it out of my mouth. I would eat here again however.
Border Grill has a nice bar area for you to spend some quality time before your flight. Like how they grill everything on site in the middle of airport terminal, amazing huh 😄 Ordered their Grill Fish Tacos, fish was nicely grilled plus the salsa and Guacamole, with a little bit of lime juice, I'll give it a 3-star out of 5.
Drinks and service is great but if you’re hungry do not eat here. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but it was so bad. I got the chicken bowl. The rice was hard and the slaw tasted old and it just wasn’t warm or hot at all. I just came from a workout and I promise you I am starving. However, I still wasn’t hungry enough to endure how bad the food tasted. My server was very sweet and attentive though! That’s the only reason I’m giving 3 stars.

When i went to order i was told that the fish burrito would take 15-20 minutes. Ok. Then it took 40. It's fine if something takes a while, but please give a somewhat accurate estimate - every one of the customers here is in transit and watching the clock The food itself was quite unpleasant to eat - black bean mush that spilled from every pore of the cracked tortilla. Unsettlingly unpleasant
Food was nice but very expensive. Virtually impossible to get a drink, the blonde bar lady was just very loudly gossiping with staff and then occasionally turning around and serving one person that she already had a tab open for. Waited 20 minutes, asked another staff member if I could order and she just pointed at the blonde woman.. again and she was laughing with the cook so gave up and left. Went to Vino Volo instead, much better and got a drink in 2 minutes ✌️
There is a difference in descriptions about what’s included in meals. For example, In the airport it gives a description for burritos that doesn’t include rice and through the airport online ordering it says there is rice included. I asked the cashier for clarification and she said no rice. Never heard of an actual burrito that didn’t have some type of rice or at least potatoes. Ended up getting a Poblano Quesadilla, it was ok.
In this terminal, there is no competition if you want breakfast rather than a sandwich. I decided to try their breakfast burrito because it sounded like it could be good. I expected a lot more for their $$$ prices. Basically, this place is a bar that happens to have some food. If you want alcohol, I'm sure this will do. If you want food, you may want to think again. The burrito was generously sized. The filling was a mix of good to very sad. It technically had everything they said: eggs (very sad "scrambled eggs" which appeared to be made from a powdered mix), beans, Pico de Gallo sauce (was OK), and a chile relleno (which was very good, the redeeming factor). With all that said, I get better burritos for $2 at the Stripes convenience store in Texas (and with a freshly made flour tortilla). The tortilla chips were decent, American style thin chips. The salsa that came with the chips was very mediocre. I wasn't expecting a molcajete full of fresh salsa, but this was only mediocre of the store-bought kind. The server asked if I wanted to add bacon to the hurrito. Since otherwise there was no meat, I said "yes," not knowing it would be over 3 dollars for two very small, paper-thin pieces of "bacon." It was very disappointing and barely there. For the price, I thought the $4 orange juice would be fresh, but no, it was a small bottle of mediocre juice made from concentrate. The prices are very high and the food quality is, at best, mediocre. Perhaps their lunch / dinner entrees are better. On the positive side, the service was fair, the tables clean, the atmosphere as pleasant as it can be in a terminal, and at least they were open early in the morning. Will I order it again? No. I will pack a granola bar to tide me over until I get to DFW, where I can get a much better breakfast at McDonald's at a great price. BTW, though this place serves breakfast, they do not serve coffee. If you want coffee, go stand in line at another business first. They do serve all kinds of alcoholic beverages and a couple of juice / soda options. I realize this is the international terminal and there people from all over, but my recommendation is that if you're serving breakfast in the Americas, offer coffee on the menu.

Has to be the worst run restaurant I’ve ever come across - and that includes other airports spots. Completely incompetent across the board. Eat before and come and sit at the bar for a beer and an an entertaining time as you watch chaos unfold in front of your eyes in cataclysmic fashion. It’s a riot.
I can't review the food because I was told I had to order alcohol by RAMON if I chose to sit at a table. I don't drink and wanted just a diet coke. We were told soda is not on the menu. I told him again, I don't drink. He threatened us he would call the police if we didn't order from the menu.
I only had two slices of the super greasy quisadilla but it made my stomach upset for the most part of my 10 hr flight.
Extremely overpriced. Don’t get what you order. Slow as turtles in getting the orders out - the ones that don’t have all the items ordered. Limited drink options. The food was good but not good for the price charged. For the price paid, I should have had been seated, my order taken, food brought to my table. Instead, I had no seating, had to order on a kiosk, get my own drinks, go back to get the items missing, and I ate out of a to go box
Burritos were $22 per person, which is already insane… they tasted like something I could’ve made at home or gotten from a Taco Bell. Service was a joke, waited 20+ minutes for 2 burritos. Multiple people that ordered after me got their orders fairly quickly. When I did receive my food, there was not a “sorry for the wait” or anything along those lines - she just called out my order number and slid it over to me. If you’re expecting something “quick” before your flight, go elsewhere.
Absolutely awful experience — skip this place entirely. We started ordering from the self-service touchscreen when a staff member told us we could order from the tables instead, so we sat down expecting table service. No one ever came. As our boarding time approached, we returned to the kiosk, spent $60 on food, and sat back down at the table to eat quickly — only to be told we had to leave because we didn’t order through the server. Apparently, if you don’t order through her, you can’t sit at a table — meaning no tip for her, so she kicks you out. She was incredibly rude — unbelievably so. Who structures a business this way, where paying customers can’t even sit and eat their food at a table? Awful service. Awful food. Never again.
I have never seen so much grease come out of a burrito in my life. I had to stop eating before I was finished because I couldn’t get past all that oil. This was the steak burrito and the exact same experience for my daughter who had the same thing and my niece who had a steak quesadilla. They also skimped on the steak and cheese.
