Carmine's Los Angeles Reviews
Absolutely wonderful dining experience and great bartender and wait staff. Superb pasta dishes, wonderful roast chicken, delicious veal picatta, addictive chopped salad. Make sure you order the black and white pizza. Choose small or large. You won't be sorry!
Started off with the Caesar salad, then ravioli with bolognese sauce and chicken piccata. Finished with tiramisu. Everything was tasty. Service was attentive and atmosphere was like going back in time in a good way.
Huge thanks to Kim & Carmine for the exceptional white glove service from first booking the reservation all the way to the absolutely unforgettable meal! This was hands down some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had—no small statement considering I enjoy top-tier Italian every week at work back in Sarasota FL!! We started with a fresh and creamy burrata heirloom salad, perfectly paired with a refreshing Aperol Spritz. For the main course, we enjoyed both the chicken Marsala and the Sinatra-style chicken Parmigiana—elevated with rich bolognese, sautéed mushrooms, and peppers. Every bite was perfection. If you’re in Los Angeles, do yourself a favor and book a table at Carmine’s. An absolute must-visit!
Had the Clam Linguini with white wine and it was very good. Our server was very attentive and described the specials with detail that I had to think twice about my selection. Will be back.
Had a great time and the judy shrimp dish was so good! Servers were great as well!
I love this place. The food is excellent! The service is pretty decent. The white pizza with black truffle is absolutely amazing so is the fettuccini alfredo with breaded scampi is ""off the hook!!!!"" You'd feel like you're in a real mafioso restaurant!

Amazing experience. A+ service, A+ food, didn’t skimp portions. lovely atmosphere. recommend
Hadn't been in ages. What a pleasure to return! Sat at bar waiting for friends and bartender was friendly and mixed great drink. Diner, an arribiata pasta tasty and service outstanding.
This was our first visit to Carmine's and we were delighted. The food was top notch, I had the veal milanese and it was the best I ever had. I would highly recommend this place.
WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL place!!! The bartender was great and attentive. The super cute waitresses had fun personality and were quick with everything, ha. They playfully banter with the 75+ year old patrons. I love the owner, who I just met last night. Genuine, lovely lady. I lived in downtown Chicago for 23 years and love this place as much as Gibsons and Topo Gigio in that city.
My favorite Italian restaurant on the West Side of LA. The service is impeccable, I get the eggplant Parmesan… Delicious. The bar “ Josh Mix Master” is always a great social experience and the wine selection is CRAZY 🍷.A 30yr customer…nuff said!
Carmine’s was absolutely delicious! I ordered the specials of the night—a delicious Heirloom Burrata to start and the Homemade Pappardelle Pasta. The timing of arrival was great not just overall but also between the dishes, and the food was amazing. Thank you to our server(s), Nick and Nancy, as well as Kim for your hospitality!
The food is perfect Italian-American comfort served with class. Our server Nick, was attentive and provided us with everything we desired! The dirty martini is one of the best in LA and my personal favorite dishes are the baked Ziti and the pesto Pizza. The atmosphere is hard to find in LA; very romantic and elegant, elevated yet warm. 10/10

Carmine's in West LA is a delightful culinary oasis that excels at providing an authentic Italian dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by an inviting atmosphere that exudes warmth and familiarity. The food is made with love, the locals are friendly, and every visit feels like a special occasion.
The chicken Dino was delicious. The toasted ravioli was excellent. The fettuccine Alfredo half order was yummy. The calamari fritte was just OK, a little under cooked. My guest had the chicken piccata which she enjoyed. Her lemon drop cocktail was refreshing. The Stracciatella soup was disappointing. The soup was bland. Overall a very enjoyable meal but I'm a big fan of Stracciatella and was let down today. Will return to try the other classics but will skip the Stracciatella.
It is one of my favorite watering holes on the west side. The food is very good. The bar, however, is my favorite location.

This is an old school style restaurant similar to the original Palm restaurant. The menu is very heavy on pasta and pizza. They have daily specials that sound delicious but they are reliant on pasta as a part of the presentation. As I can’t have pasta unless it’s organic I can’t comment on them first hand. Everyone else at our table had such dishes and loved them. I had the Chicken Diablo and it was fantastic. The restaurant has a lot of surfaces that deaden sound which is a great thing. I didn’t give them 5 stars because the restaurant and the menu seem dated.

Ordered takeout from Carmine’s on Santa Monica Blvd. I got the chicken parm, toasted ravioli, and tiramisu. The sauce on the chicken parm was solid, had that classic Italian-American flavor I had the spicy version, but the chicken itself was dry and overcooked. The toasted ravioli weren’t greasy, which was good, but they didn’t have much flavor. Tasted like something straight from a frozen bag. Definitely wouldn’t order them again. The tiramisu was excellent. Creamy, rich, and probably the only part of the meal I’d go out of my way to get again. Not a bad place if you’re nearby and want something familiar, but it didn’t blow me away. Just okay.

Not nearly as good as it seems it should be. Feels like an old school, Hollywood Italian joint that will have great food and interesting ambiance. Instead, service was scarce and if a manager hadn't helped out, we might still be waiting. Sure, they were quite busy, but they had staff and should know how to handle it. Food was average and it's hard for Italian food to be average. And way too pricey for what it is. .

Mid range Italian restaurant, with not many items that were impressive other than the mushroom soup. Kim’s Pizza was salty, calamari was ordinary, eggplant dish was bland, steak was ok, meat ball pasta was ok, and the salad was ok. Overall, I think this place is about the background story than food quality. The servers were nice but did miss a few items …
