Jerk Stop Los Angeles Reviews
It's fantastic to have a Jamaican restaurant in the neighborhood. I ate the curry chicken and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try the jerk chicken. The rice and peas were great soaked in the curry. It is a nice environment there and the people are all very nice.
I got a large brown stew chicken plate that came with rice and peas, cabbage plantains, and festival bread. Everything was flavored. Well it was amazing. I’ll be back.. Also got Jerk Chicken Plate as well as Oxtail Plate. All the food was wonderful to say the least.
Beyond happy to have a local spot to get Jerk Chicken. I wanted to wait and review more items on the menu but I just couldn’t wait. I love this place! The food here at Jerk Stop is so comforting. It makes you feel like you’ve been invited into a Jamaican household and served a delicious home-cooked meal. If it’s your first time I recommend trying the Jerk Chicken plate. I got a large and it comes with a ton of rice, cabbage and veggies, plantains and festivals (A deep-fried bread that’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside). The star of the show was the herbaceous and smoky Jerk Sauce that comes on the side. Not only did it enhance the flavor of the chicken, but it had a strong kick! Definitely ask for 2 sauces. The Curry Chicken came with the same sides. It had a good depth of flavor and paired well with the side of hot sauce. It did taste a little salty, and didn‘t come with as much chicken as the Jerk plate, but I don’t think the chef is equally distributing the portions of chicken which is something to keep in mind. I also got the Beef Patty which is something I’ve always wanted to try. Let me tell you it was worth the hype! The minced beef had the perfect level of spiciness, and the dough that encompassed it was flaky and delectable. I highly recommend that you give Jerk Stop a try. I can’t wait to go back!
Best plantains I’ve ever had in my life. Also, the oxtails are absolutely amazing. Good quality food for a reasonable price. 🔥
Best Jerk Chicken I've had outside of Jamaica. I prefer my boyfriends stewed cabbage, he's Jamaican, but their's is top notch when he doesn't want to cook for me. Had the lunch special. Jerk Chicken with a nice smokey flavor and spicy, peas and rice, festival bread, plantain and stewed cabbage and a drink for $15. So yummy!
Food was delicious. Not too salty and packed with flavor. Juicy jerk chicken and tender oxtail. Bro gave me like 2 lbs of rice and peas with my order, so it’s totally worth the money.
Really good food for the soul! Definitely made with quality. Amazing vibe to match the food
The jerk chicken is so good, love everything that came on the plate especially the plantains. Four sides plus a good serving of chicken makes this closer to 3 meals than 1. Highly recommend checking this place out
Amazing Caribbean food: oxtail, curry chicken, jerk chicken all soooo tasty. I personally think Caribbean food is one of the most tasty cuisines in the world so I’m pretty happy to have a spot not too far away. Only thing that could be a bit better is the jerk chicken white meat could be more flavored. The jerk dark meat is delicious.
The jerk chicken is the top notch! The oxtail is delicious too. The festival is best I’ve ever had and the beef patties are on point. We are excited to be regulars here! The servers are kind and welcoming and the vibe is very chill.

This is the sort of hole in the wall place you’re excited to discover. After my trip to Jamaica I was craving some authentic food and was happy to discover this place. I got the jerk chicken lunch special which had a generous serving three pieces of chicken, plantains, rice, cabbage, and a festival (I had to look these up they’re soooo good). I’ll be returning and can’t wait to try more on the menu!
Just ordered The Jerk Chicken lunch from The Jerk Stop. I ate and now about to take a nap. That’s the sign of a delicious meal. (Smiling) I really enjoy their food. This is my 4th time ordering lunch from them and I always seem to get the same thing, The Jerk Chicken Lunch meal. I want to order their Oxtail, which I heard is delicious but…… For sure, my next order will be their Oxtail. If someone is yearning for home cook Jamaican food on the Westside of Los Angeles, this is your stop. Drop by, stay awhile and enjoy some delicious food. A well satisfied customer.
This is definitely a resurant you would love to take your family. The owner is amazing, wonderful customer service. The food is absolutely delicious! This restaurant deserves a 10 star rating!

This is high quality food at a solid price for West LA. It’s my favorite LA spot. I come here often and have never been let down by the flavors the kitchen conjures up. There can be a wait if busy but it’s worth a great meal.
We got takeout-- two orders of small jerk 🐔 with rice and peas, cabbage, festival, and plantains-- all were excellent. Flavors were on point, jerk sauce nice and spicy, and a generous portion of the rice and peas. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends. Even better, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to see them again!
First time here. Served large portions, food has really fresh taste (just would've loved more flavor). Three interior was quite, with contactless ordering, didnt encounter anyone until time for food pickup. The young lady was quiet and sweet. I loved the music outside, really gives it the Caribbean vibe!
Jerk Stop in West LA is my go-to spot for amazing Jamaican food! Their Goat Curry is always packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, and I can’t get enough of their refreshing tropical beverages. You can really taste the homemade love in every bite. The staff is super friendly and attentive, they make sure you’re satisfied every time. That said, parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially during peak hours. Also, while the vibe is great, the music sometimes feels a bit off-theme. I’d love to hear more authentic Jamaican tunes to really match the incredible food and enhance the overall experience. Still, this place is a gem and I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend supporting this family-run business!
I was 99% satisfied with this place!! Food was fantastic!! All that flavor in the jerk chicken and the sides were amazing! My only complaint was that 1 of the 5 pieces of chicken was dry, but overall nailed it Staff was great! Called in the order and walked over. The woman at the front confirmed my order and even showed it to me to make sure everything was there!! Atmosphere was good! Love the vibe… but they have a big speaker out front blasting music at near max volume , which is a bit discomforting if you wanted to sit down. Overall looking forward to going back again and trying more delicious food!!
If you are looking for authentic Jamaican food, make a trip here. It did not disappoint. The jerk chicken was cooked just right. The jerk seasoning was not overly spicy and was complimented by the rice and peas plus plantains. My daughter ate the oxtail plus some beef patties and absolutely loved them.
Great Food , Horrible Attitude lol. Not sure how that works but that is my husbands and I experience.

I was very excited to try a Jamaican restaurant on the Westside yesterday. I ordered the vege plate, curry chicken patty, sorrel and ginger pine juice. The rice and peas were very dry and had no coconut milk. The cabbage had no taste and the plantain was fine. The price was $21 for the worst vege plate I have ever had. This was overpriced for the quality. Also I asked about callaloo and the young girl said they are not making any. This was a very disappointing experience.

Food had potential . But i waited 35 minutes in the restraunt to open my plate to cold chicken old stuck together mac and cheese rice and peas were old and hard . I called ahead to ask if they had jerk plates or were close to running out before driving 30 minutes to try it just to get there and be told they have one more left . Which is the cold one i got . We ordered plantains the number of plantains on our plate was even inconsistent . VERY dissapointed because the flavor was there but everything else wasnt
