Nong Lá Los Angeles Reviews
Pho broth was very light and delicious.
love this place! They're super nice, clean and the food is really good!
I give 5 for a pretty good pho. In short, the pho is delicious, BUT there really isn't enough meat on the plate - it's better to add the price, but put some meat on it so that a man can eat his fill! You won't get a second plate, but you won't get full of meat. And you could put a little more noodles. Also, serve more greens right away. Another factor is the problem of parking during rush hour - bus line. The service is good - nice guys!
Go to spot for Pho. It’s a spot that both my parents and friends like, and my go-to takeout when I feel like a need a hug. They have a small but great selection of Angela wines as well!
I have ordered this place twice now and it is insane. The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had! I love the chicken and egg roll bowl. My new fave place!
One of the best Pho I ever had, staff is super helpful too. Really Great experience The fired spring roll is phenomenal 😍
That’s by far the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever had and been in my life. Quality of produce is extremely fresh and crunchy, the umami of the balance between salt and sweet is just perfect if not unique, I was speechless, the only thing I was hoping was to have 1-2 more spring rolls in my cold noodle salad, but I will never forget the taste of that single roll, astonishing.
Friendly staffs. The best Pho in the area 😊 Service was fast. The hard part is the parking, a little tricky before 7pm as we had to park in the garage way behind the store. Definitely come back.
Nong La Vietnamese restaurant consistently delivers delicious, authentic flavors. Their pho is incredibly comforting, with rich broth and fresh noodles, and their banh mi is a standout – perfectly crispy bread with flavorful fillings. The space is often lively, and the staff are efficient and friendly. It's a fantastic spot for a satisfying Vietnamese meal in Los Angeles. Highly recommended for a taste of Vietnam!
Saved this place from my recent google map hunt for good finds and came across this shop! So glad to be able to try it on a rainy cold day because it hit the spot! Better than most Vietnamese food stalls nearby and inexpensive! Perfect rainy weather food to eat! I was impressed with the quality of the food being super good despite it being located in a non-Asian community neighborhood. Worth the trip! I always crave for Bon Bo Hue and I’m so happy they serve it here! Their chef special was super good too! The soup base tasted authentic and no msg to it!! The beef was so tender in the soup! Definitely worth coming back tho!!!
This Nong Lá location has been consistently great every time we’ve visited. The pho is always flavorful, and the broth tastes just right — rich, balanced, and comforting. It’s a great spot for a family meal, with friendly service and a relaxed vibe. Definitely our preferred location when we’re craving Vietnamese comfort food.
*Delayed post from Jan ‘25 Super impressed with this restaurant! Came here on a whim with a small group and loved the high quality service and the freshness of the ingredients. Only hiccup was that our egg rolls came out after our main entrees, but they were so good, I honestly didn’t care. Be careful though, they are HOT when they first get to the table. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and well executed. I also loved how many fresh vegetables came with our meals. Totally worth trying this place.
I went to Nong La on La Brea and ordered the Bo Nuong (grilled lemongrass & sesame steak). It came out quickly, and the presentation was clean and simple. The flavors were fresh, and the steak had a nice balance of seasoning without being too salty or heavy. The service was great — my waiter was friendly, checked in without overdoing it, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. It’s a good place to sit down and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. There’s metered street parking right out front — I paid $3 for an hour, which was enough for a full meal without stress. That alone makes it more doable compared to other LA spots. The restaurant was clean and had a calm, comfortable feel. I’d come back for sure — might try the pho or one of the noodle salads next time. Drinks and desserts looked solid too.
The vibe here was so amazing and well organized:) I found all the dishes were local and they were delicious! I definitely recommend the Chef’s Choice menu of the pho (Vietnamese noodles) we also had extra noodles, because it was really tasty! You can have two different sauces with the noodles, one was sweet the other was spicy:) We also had spring rolls, and it came with some pickles too, which was great too!
The broth is wonderfully clean and savory, and the meat is so tender it practically melts in your mouth.
No frills Vietnamese eatery that is reasonably priced given the neighborhood, efficient staff, overall cleanliness and well made authentic, solid pho broth. Side note: Street parking restrictions are an issue before 7pm.
Soooo yummy. I love the pho so much and the banh mi is amazing too
We had an awesome time here, the food was amazing and the service was great. We had just arrived in LA and were craving something healthier, and more homely being South-East Asian ourselves and Nong La did not disappoint. We got the lemongrass pork and beef ball pho and both were amazing
Food, service, and atmosphere is amazing! Fresh noodles - and the chicken pho tastes like Souplantation chicken noodle soup. Fantastic 🤩
Once you get passed the very heavy front door, you'd find a spacious dining room. The Bun Bo Hue and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio were excellent and authentic tasting. Typical menu for an LA Vietnamese restaurant, I'll be back to try other dishes. The El Segundo IPA was also nice.

Must try their Bun Bo Hue if you like or don’t mind lemongrass. I personally love it, and this bowl of soup is a perfection:)

I ordered my food to go. I got the chicken pho and summer rolls with shrimp, no pork for me. The broth makes the soup. This place hit the spot. I drank every last drop of the amazingly delicious, packed full of flavor broth. Summer rolls were jammin’ too. Had the mint in them to give them a nice flavorful touch. I will be coming back to this place for sure.
Came here on a cold and rainy wet night in LA after work. Solid spot. Happy with my soup and broth and price and service. Broth was light and flavorful. I got the BAC BIET (rare filet mignon, brisket, tripe and beefballs) yum

Both Pho and Banh Mi were delicious.
My friend brought me here, it's really super bright and welcoming. The service was fast polite-ish.. He was a bit of a downer lol dunno but he seemed sad. Anyways, the service was fast and the fresh rolls were amazing! They had nice big pieces of shrimp, very fresh and the peanut dipping sauce was great. I had the Pho Dac biet and it is as good as the Pho I had in Vietnam, flavorful and great spices hitting the right notes. I would come again.
Good soup, good bahn mi. Solid food, rough outside dining experience. Don’t eat outside at night unless you’re outta options. Traffic zoomed across the street, high levels of honking and VROOMing motorists. Stopped conversation multiple times because it was so loud. A trio in the seats behind us were so loud, I accidentally picked up pieces of their life stories (RIP Jeff). Someone was smoking and it smelled like it. Service was friendly and quick. Bahn mi bread was flaky without being hard. Meat was a little dry and thin. Soup was yummy. Dipping the bahn mi into the soup added flavor to the sando and softened the bread, would recommend. I would go back and eat inside, or earlier in the day, when traffic is light.
One of the best pho places ever! They charged higher that most Vietnamese places, but I guess it’s for the great vibes and decor. It’s a shame they are understaffed though. Hope management can resolve HR challenges to keep such a great place going!

Ordered online the Bahn Mi Bo. Flavors are good and portions are perfect! Am I used to the bread hurting the roof of my mouth, sure. Did this bread do it? No, but I cannot complain because it was actually pretty good for the LA area. I’ve gone to Orange County and had incredible Bahn Mi Bo. But this location was not bad in anyway. It was fresh and had flavor which means I’ll most likely come back.

Thursday evening and felt like a bowl of pho. They run the place like a busy good pho shop would and I been to many so I had my Hope's up! I'll give props that they actually used pho noodles and not hieu tieu noodles but soup flavor was not on point for me. I had to ask got fish sauce and season twice to be ok with the flavor. I'll come give this spot another try or maybe the other location is better. Got the tipsy buddha on tap and I think their tap is a little off, definitely not the right temp and a little on the flat side. Sat at the bar for table for one and my order was taken right away but sadly two other tables that came after me got their food first but I guest it happen all the time with a busy hip place?
Service was slow with only 1 server work and came back second time with 2 servers. Took 30 mins to get the foods. The broth was a bit salty, not that special or authentic but appreciate for the fresh Pho noodle that rare to see in LA. Overpriced for an okay Pho bowl.
Very limited street parking since it's on La Brea so more amenable to take-out. Took a good 20 minutes to find some parking, but it you go later at night street parking should be unrestricted. I got the Pork Rice Plate and it was on the dry side, but the sauce on the side helped. The pho was good and pretty standard. Overall, a decent place, but would opt for take out instead.
It's okay. I'm not sure how authentic this place is but it's not my go-to Viet place if I had to choose. The pho was not very flavorful, more on the bland side of taste. They do do a great job with the meats though which saved the meal. The tripe was really good too (and I don't even like tripe). I would have to say their banh mi was better than the pho.

I ordered pho ga from Nong La Cafe via UberEats while traveling for work, and what happened next was a tragedy. A Shakespearean-level tragedy. A horror story of hunger and betrayal. They. Did. Not. Include. Utensils. Now, normally, I’d just grab some from my kitchen like a normal human, but I was in a hotel. A hotel that, for some mysterious, inexplicable reason, refused to let me come downstairs to get utensils and instead took 50 agonizing minutes to bring me some. Meanwhile, my pho sat there, slowly growing colder. And colder. And colder. By the time I finally got to eat, it was the coldest pho I have ever consumed in my life. And the worst part? Even cold, it was delicious. Like, shockingly good. Which only made me more furious—because imagine how amazing it would have been if I had actually eaten it at the temperature God intended! To add insult to injury, I had to eat pho with a fork. A FORK. I have never felt more personally victimized. I even tried reordering on UberEats to see if I had somehow missed an option to request utensils, but no. There was no option. No way to say, “Hey, I’d love to actually eat this meal you’re sending me!” Look, I admit I’m being extra dramatic (because you don’t mess with my food), but come on—providing utensils should be basic. Or at least let people request them! The food itself? Amazing. My experience trying to eat it? A tragic tale of hunger, patience, and a poorly matched fork. Would I order again? Yes, but only if I’m within arm’s reach of a spoon and a pair of chopsticks.
The food is really expensive for what it is. Most of the pho is above 18$, which is crazy considering it isn't very good. I got a banh mi and it was the one of the cheapest menu items at like 14 dollars... the server asked us if we wanted to add an egg to the banh mi with no mention of an additional charge so some of us took the egg... turns out the egg costed an extra 2.25 dollars....it would have been nice to know it costed more ahead of saying yes. Turns out when my parents went they also gave them rice that they didnt order and charged them an extra several dollars as well. Seems a little weird. Anyways, it took 30 minutes to get our sandwiches, while tables that came later than us received theirs before us. This was a bit long considering it was really just banh mi. The taste of the banh mi was alright, just average, nothing special. Overall, the service was ok, they checked up on us, but it was very slow and the whole thing with the egg and the rice for my parents before is just weird.. i think disclosing any extra charges is a given
