Sushi Zo Los Angeles Reviews
Sushi Zo, as always was amazing! To me the best sushi I have had ever! I haven't been to Tokyo, but have eaten at top rated spots in LA, SF, NY and nobody can compete! Chef Shinpei is a superstar and a nice guy. He explains every delicious morsel so well. Great experience! I highly recommend!
My first time really eating sushi and caviar. It was tremendous. The service, quality of the fish and presentation is spectacular. Chef explains what you’re being presented and how it’s prepared. You must make a reservation because they only prepare for the day the exact amount of food. Chef is a true artist.
Amazing place to grab a romantic dinner or be transported to Japan. The ambiance is very spacious but reminiscent of a very clean and modern feel. The sushi bar with very professional and chefs that communicate what every dish is is a good choice. They also have a few tables that offer some more privacy and easier to talk when in groups. Wasn't super crowded when I went on a weekday right when they opened and we were able to be seated without reservations but that may have been a fluke as the sign outside says reservations only. The food is truly the best part and really an extension of art and the chefs are very proud. All the fish is extremely fresh and the flavor profiles are absolutely amazing. Some of the highlights for me are the sea urchin uni as well as multiple others. The 25 courses leaves you absolutely stuffed and the service is laser fast and professional. Honestly very impressed with this place and is worth a visit by everyone.
The best omakase in Downtown LA so far! Each delicate piece of sushi sings inside of your mouth and gently persuade you that I'm the best sushi 🍣 you will experience better and better sushi back to back in the course of omakase. Omakase was good enough portion that makes you feel stuffed at the end and of course, you will be satisfied. This location is worth for special occasions such as birthday and anniversary with your loved one. If you want to enjoy this very special restaurant, you may want to give up sth expensive from your monthly budget ;) Per person price is over $400 (easily)
Hands down the Absolute BEST Sushi I have ever experienced! What an experience. Chef Eric was beyond amazing. All the team members were very friendly and accommodating. First class service all the way around.
I had a wonderful dinner at Sushi Zo last night! Really really enjoyed and loved their omakase Sushi. Everything was absolutely a top notch! Sushi made by Sushi master Taro was so beautiful like an art! Our server Yui and Keiko explained what each dish was. Where the fish came from and how they cooked. Their explanations made our experience more rich and enjoyable! For the high quality sushi, I would definitely go back again!! Highly recommended!! After all this, they came to the door and greeted us when we left. I had a great time! Thank you so very much and see you soon!!
Chef Eric was SO awesome. We sat at the bar and had an amazing omakase experience! Every single dish was so delicious and beautiful from beginning to end. Took about 3 hours. Was so full, So worth it. Definitely will be going back. Thank you Chef Eric!
The food and service is uniformly excellent. It's omakase style, they'll ask if there's anything you can't or don't want and the chef will take it from there. Just about everything melts in your mouth. You'll have plenty of time to savor each bite, a seating will take about 2.5-3 hours.
Don't listen to what anyone else says, Sushi Zo is bar none the best sushi in the city. I've been to most of the other nice sushi spots (barring Urasawa and Sushi Nozawa) and this takes the cake. The perfect warm rice and each piece played separately and perfectly seasoned or sauced so there's minimal thinking and futzing and maximum enjoyment. It's ridiculously expensive so I've only been twice but worth it every time.
One of the best sushi in LA. You definitely need reservations for Zo. All 20+ pieces was perfectly crafted and all the fish was so fresh. Best Omakase for you money.
It’s a fantastic although pricey sushi place! Reservations required. I like the ‘surprise me’ menu idea as it made me curious about what the next dish would be. Never been disappointed by those surprises so far. Chef and staff are very nice! It’s definitely a great place if you want to have some memorable time with people who are important to your life:)
Hands down the best sushi in L.A.! It's reservation only so make sure you you get you one. World class sushi and chefs. #chasomwashere
Amazing Omakase experience. We had 2 bottles of sake and split a beer. Absolutely memorable and would do it again.
Everything was perfect, the food, the service and the atmosphere, my only suggestion is that they don't have to put the sea salt or less seasoning on the sushi.

Great sushi in town, just a bit expensive. Totally worth it though. Will be back!
Wow incredible!!!! Omakase courses were amazing & well prepared (they value themselves on the preparation of the fish), and the care, service, hospitality were 10000%. One of the best omakase experiences I’ve had in LA (and ice been to their locations in NYC and felt the same.) they do the omakase experience better than many places in la dollar for dollar!
Had a great time, staff was so vibrant and friendly. It wasn't as busy so they made sure to be attentive and interacted a lot. Food was tremendous but their sizing is on the small side but still left the restaurant full. Third time going and still not disappointed.
I came here for dinner on a Thursday for my first time. They have the best sushi in LA! It's a little pricey but worths every penny. It is an amazing establishment and well worth the money. They provide an environment where you can feel welcomed and enjoy the whole experience, not just the food.

Exceptional sushi! One of the best I've had, my only complaint is that it is a little pricey compared to other sushi places of similar caliber. Sushi chef was great, serving dishes at a good pace. Sushi quality and ingredients were superb. Servers were very prompt in clearing dishes and refilling drinks. Overall great experience, and will probably come back after trying more of the other top notch omakase places. No walk-ins, reservations only. There is street parking but during peak hours it is very expensive, you are better off parking at a lot for a fixed rate. There's one close to the location between 4th and 3rd street that is $8 flat rate and was cheaper than paying 2 hours on the parking meter which can get up to $6 an hour depending on the demand base rate.
Good omakase sushi, but very expensive. So many courses, but tiny pieces. Dinner for 3 with tip came out to $1100 with only 2 bottles of "low end" sake at $120 each. Lol

You cant make reservations anymore and the phone number has been disconnected. Is this place still open or has it closed?
