Toe Bang Los Angeles Reviews
A couple of years back I dated a Korean dude. This was one of the spots he, myself, and a bunch of his friends would frequent just for drinking. Other than some fries, I really did not get to try any of the food, and I never quite remembered how I got home every time. Very recently during a hunt for kimchi fried rice, I stumbled upon this place again. Man, did the kimchi fried rice bring back some sweet (or salty) memories from those dark Berkeley days. 10/10. Would go again.
I loved the atmosphere. It's busy on Fridays and Saturdays, but I didn't mind - I watched the Dodgers win on one of the numerous TV's lining the walls. I ordered the kimchi and potato pancakes. As a heads up, there's not many vegetarian or vegan options, however, the watermelon is excellent 👌🏼
I love this place! This is the spot. The manager Matthew was awesome people! greeting my party with amazing customer service. Food was awesome! Definitely going to recommend this place to my co-workers and have a company party here vibe is awesome And they were playing the dodgers game.
Definitely highly recommend for a night going out for food and drinks! This place is set up with a lot of wooden benches and tables with an indoor outdoor vibe. Their menu even has recommendations for what dishes go well with soju and beer, and have cool options like a Hot Cheetos appetizer. 🥵 🌶️ You can’t go wrong with what you order.
This place is great. Most ppl will choose bbq, but the most impressive food I tried in Korea is toe bang!!! It’s just crazy! I’m happy I walked in here. And the manager Justin and another oppa were so great. You can feel truly free and chilled here, with nice food and soju. The only thing I felt bad is I forgot to tip😩cause there’s no tip in China or Korea. I’m so sorry for that. Anyway, highly recommend this place! You’ll definitely have fun here!
I really love the atmosphere here! The Korean food is quite delicious!! It’s quite pricy , but it makes sense because this is the area where it’s most popular in Koreatown! Very lively at night and it’s a great spot to go eat with friends or family.
My first time coming to this restaurant, and everything was excellent, from their food and service. I'll be coming again
I should of done a review for every time Ive came here. But during these hard times it's been hard and that's no excuse. Paul has helped me during these times for my birthday, for a friend's birthday and special occasions. & Honestly even though we are going through such disaster, i couldn't wait to come back here. & Now that it's opened. This place brings so much joy and laughter, i recommend anyone to come here. Be you & share. The food is phenomenal and the vibe is amazing, even now. Like wow. But yes. Come here and enjoy the food, the vibe and ofcourse the drinks!!!
One of my go-to restaurants for a nice night with friends! The vibe here is exciting and casual. Music is loud and fun selection, really setting a mood for an upbeat and fun experience. Usually a good amount of people but still always easy to get a seat. It can get a bit noisy but I love that. The servers are so friendly and the food is always delicious. It's in the Chapman Plaza with several other restaurants so you might not easily see it. Parking might be tough if you're driving but there is a lot there you can pay for. Overall great Korean place with delicious food and fun vibes!
This wasn’t my first visit, and definitely wasn’t going to be my only visit. I am bringing all my friends back over here for drinks and great food that goes well with my drinks! Try the pork belly! Sojus are great also!
Great Korean style cuisine. The food and atmosphere is amazing. Its open really late, so a key spot to go to for some after hour grub. They have kimchee fried rice, which is amazing. It's a place to visit in Ktown
Sometimes you have to go to Saturday's room on an Sunday :) Army stew, fried chicken, and tekbokki all so good. And their beer is ICE cold! Great place to go after a Dodger's game!
fun and lively korean bar/restaurant with food options that are a hit or miss. wait time was reasonable (20min) considering we went on a busy friday night. corn cheese with hot cheetos: thought this would be a gimmick but actually loved the addition of cheetos to the dish! spicy rice cake with noodles: a massive dish to share with at least 3 people. everything was cooked well and had good flavor! fried chicken wings: wouldn’t recommend. tasted like any other fried chicken and lacked flavor
Finally this place is open. I waited and waited and we’ll all they seemed to do is cleaned up the joint, threw on some paint, new varnish & newer bathrooms. But this place with airy windows and middle of Chapman Plaza is a perfect joint to start your night of drinking and eating. Very cool, laid back attitude still unlike some of the ktown joints. Get the popcorn chicken and cheese corn with Hite. You will be happy. Not a happy ending happy but a good start to finding those famous ktown happy ending joints later on.
Combo fried rice was weird lol. A bunch of mini shrimp, a ton of mushrooms and green beans. Felt like they just threw whatever they had sitting around in the rice.
You know what it is. Korean gastropub where you go for your 2차s and 3차s. Food is decent, you can get your fix. I like their popcorn chicken (more like chicken katsu). You come here more for the vibes and to have fun with a crowd. But parking is a nightmare. Soju is $18 a bottle. And so. Many. People. In Chapman plaza. Your call!
This place was packed for the whole night and it wasn't even a weekend. You need to be there early for dinner and all members need to be there to get a table. No reservations. Food was good, we all loved marinated rib the most but pork belly was somewhat disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed it but entire place was covered by bbq smoke. They need to work on ventilation.
Good food to share. Definitely a fun place to drink with friends and hangout. They were pretty busy so it did take a while to get our server to get to us even with the call button but they were running around tables non-stop.
Toe Bang is a great spot for Korean food with a nice vibe. I used to go a lot in the past, and it remains a favorite. The restaurant can get kind of crowded, but the lively atmosphere adds to the experience. The food is delicious and authentic, making it a solid choice for a night out. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy tasty Korean dishes in a bustling setting!
You come here for the vibes, definitely not the food. We ordered kimchi fried rice, fried whole chicken and the spicy rice cake ramen. All fails, super wet rice and overly sauced ramen, overly fried and dry chicken. At least the soju was done right.....
