Trattoria Farfalla Los Angeles Reviews
Found the Los Feliz location on accident on our way to the Greek Theater, and yes this was a great idea. Small and simple with a variety of seating options: a few large round tables, bench seating along the side as well as standard square tables. But the food really stands out here. I expected the pizza to be good, but it was damn good. And the pasta was just outstanding. I considered the prices to be more than fair, especially for the area, and the portions large enough to share. We got there a bit early, but I can imagine this place going off at peak hours, with wait times and slower service...all worth the wait!! There is outdoor seating, but the street noise could be an issue for some. Cheers to our server Andres!
We have great memories dining at Farfalla for the past 36 years. They were your traditional trattoria, that you tumble upon while visiting Italy. It just to be half of the side that you see today. Its warmth rustic atmosphere would set the scene, a good glass of wine and enjoyed traditional Italian food. My favorite it’s always been the Penne à la Norma, delicious saucy , with good mozzarella- just divine. Me and husband appreciate the effort to maintain their tradition of trattoria. Good and friendly staff and the Adrian the manager are great people.
Amazing experience. Place was busy but still quiet, staff was incredibly attentive and food was phenomenal. Will be back
+ the pizza’s and pasta’s are amazing + great jazz music on the speakers + not too cold (I still don’t understand why so many restaurants in the US are so cold inside, this was perfect)
What a great experience. We booked this restaurant based on reviews and its proximity to the Griffith Observatory and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was super attentive and the atmosphere was friendly. The restaurant was full on a Sunday evening and it was very clearly regulars. The portions for everything including wines by the glass were generous. We will be back.
It’s better to fly to LA for Trattoria Farfalla’s pasta pizza than fly to Italy! Everything was delicious. Thanks to the entire staff. We loved your food and the outdoor seating is fantastic! We’ll definitely stop in when we are back in town.
We went around 8:45pm on a Saturday night. The olive oil used for the bread could have been seasoned more. The gentleman that took our order was friendly and provided prompt service. The spaghetti and beef (for my people who do not eat pork) meatballs were great. The Pasta E Fagioli (pasta and bean soup) tasted great. The Pennette Santino with sausage tasted great. We were served the best Tiramisu to date. I recommend you get it if you like Tiramisu. I also tried the Old Fashioned chocolate fudge cake which had whipped cream on the side. As someone previously stated, it wasn’t that sweet but it tasted good.
I was at the Griffith Observatory and found this restaurant nearby. The staff was super nice. I chose a table at the corner outside next to the traffics light. It was a funny weird. The penne with arrabiatta sauce was great. The penne was Al dente, which is perfect. The sauce was spicy enough to make my nose run, and 4 spoons of the cheese made it cheesy, fatty enough to enjoy. I added seared shrimps but actually no need. The penne and sauce itself made it just right. The restaurant free appetizer was good too, the garlic and paprika in oil. The old classic chocolate cake was really rich but not too sweet, the chocolate coating was mirror shiny. Generally I like this place, the vibe and the food
A wonderful restaurant that has stood the test of time. The food is still as good as when it opened - same taste , quality and Andre still serves with the same warm attitude , sharing great suggestions with a warm smile. Try the rollino, farfalla salmon and save room for dessert. And still reasonably priced! 5 *****standard!
Farfalla gives me the sense that I'm in a family owned eatery somewhere in Italy. The ambiance is inviting, cozy, and the service is attentive. The food is served hot and the taste is very home cooked authentic. Expect a wait on weekends, and remember that the experience is worth it!
What a wonderful weekday dinner. Loved the atmosphere, a nice little space to relax and have some drinks and delicious food. We started off with the bruschetta on pizza crust, which is amazing compared to regular bread, because all the tomato actually stays on! I’m from the east coast and it reminds me of a similar bruschetta pizza I would get in NJ so that was great. Pasta was amazing, I suggest anything with the vodka sauce. Pasta was delicious and done perfectly. All in all a great experience and would go back
This was a romantic little spot with quick service and AMAZING pasta. We both got two different raviolis 🤤 and they did not disappoint. Would surely come back!! The only note was that the tiremesu was mid.
I highly recommend trattoria farfalla 🦋 You start off with some cheesy bread and delicious olive oil to dip. I had the pennette santino which is a penne alla vodka with a bit of spice. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely!
Had one night in LA - luckily chose this place to be my dinner spot. Absolutely gorgeous! Was welcomed by the staff so well, who made me feel right at home! A complementary entrée arrived once I ordered. The outside seating was amazing. The music playing set the mood right! I ordered the Arabiata Penne, and man, that was the best Italian i have had in so long! I ordered a Merlot for the wine… the person handling my cheque refused to charge me for the wine too! If only I lived here, I would have come everyday!!! Thanks guys for a wonderful night.

I had the Gnocchi Quattro Fromagi and it was absolutely delicious. This is my new spot for comfort pasta. So creamy and savory, I am already thinking about the next time I can eat this.
The food, atmosphere and service is amazing. The servers never rushed us to leave or finish our meal faster. This is real Italian way. Loved that!
Defenely one of my favorite spots in LA fantastic food exlent service amazing wine list and the best to be here is the way all the employee make you feel at home. Thanks for so many years of great food
Nice atmosphere, small cozy at Los Feliz, very good pasta, great service. With my husband for dinner after visiting the Autry Museum Feb 21 2026. Ordered the special of the day salad arugula with gold & red beats burrata cheese dressed w/balsamic vinegar. Baked Halibut served w/ pasta aglio & olio instead of veggies (my special request). My husband had the Rigatoni al Tre Funghi, phenomenal flavor!
Simply the best restaurant in LA. You need to eat here, everything is amazing and delicious. Be aware that the dishes are big so if you don't eat much you may want to share. We ordered the lassagna, the pasta 3 fungi and the arrabiata pasta and all were amazing. We also ordered a calzoni with spinach and ricotta and it was worth it. The service was the best!!!!
The best Italian food you will ever have. This mushroom pasta is better than Catch La.

We stopped by this pasta place nearby after visiting Griffith Observatory. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice as well, making it a great spot for a date.
My pink vodka pasta was okay, and the grilled chicken laid on top was pretty bland. The sliced bread that came with a nice olive oil containing red peppers was basic and dry. The waiters were not attentive (I had to keep asking for things, like napkins, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, pepper, more water...). They also never said "thank you" or "you're welcome" when I would address them with "excuse me Sir" "thank you Sir". I expected better from this highly recommended restaurant.
