O Eixo Lugar Andrade Reviews
Everything we ordered was excellent. The octopus was delicious and the portions were generous. The churrasco was very good; they offered us more, but we were too full.
We went based on an internet recommendation; it's a stone's throw from Santiago and the food is plentiful and delicious. The menu was €12 without dessert and €13.50 with dessert. We chose octopus for two, and then one of us ordered churrasco de vérato and the other carne ao caldeiro. Delicious. For dessert, we ordered flan with cream, and they brought it just the way we like it: cream with flan. 😍. We didn't have a reservation; it was full, and they made room for us, but they couldn't handle the crowd. You wait a bit between courses; don't rush, but it's understandable. From what I saw, you can reserve, so it's better if you do. They have plenty of parking, one at the entrance and another in an empty lot a little further down.
We stopped by chance for a drink and ended up staying for lunch, and the food was excellent. The grilled beef was delicious and of great quality. The calamari was incredibly tender, and the homemade potatoes were fantastic. The only downside was that there weren't enough staff to wait on the tables. But in the end, we left happy. The facilities were very clean.
It's nice to find places like this, away from tourists and known by those who enjoy good food. This was my first time here, and I must say it was a satisfactory visit. We went around 1:00 PM, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a reservation if you're going. Octopus, ribs, and beef churrasco, with drinks and two coffees, cost €30. I must say the food was sufficient, the service was fast, and they were very friendly. Like others who recommended it, I'll do it again. After visiting Santiago and without the hassle of people.
Great lunch menu, see pic's , all for 9 euros including coffee. Typically very busy around lunchtime, mostly local crowd/worker's.

It is what it is, but you have to acknowledge its value. Basically, it's a set menu with octopus and grilled meat, served with potatoes and salad. It includes a drink, bread, coffee, and dessert for an extra charge (€1.50, which is the least you can expect for what they offer). The food is plentiful and quite tasty, the place is basic but clean, and the service is more than adequate.
We went for a family lunch, and we were surprised by how quickly the young waitress served us despite the number of customers. We hadn't made a reservation and didn't have to wait. We were impressed by the minced meat in the lentils; although it's something we'd never seen before, it was very good. The pork ribs were cut in half, so there was less of them. Dessert wasn't included in the set menu.
A restaurant with superb food, offering a daily menu that includes Galician-style octopus and grilled meat. The waiters are highly professional and quickly resolve any potential chaos in the establishment. It's a spacious place, always busy, so it can be noisy; however, within this bustle, you can find moments of tranquility, whether you're alone or with company. The food is spectacular, on par with the best octopus and grilled meat in the region, at a surprisingly low price compared to what you'd expect. There's ample parking, always accommodating the restaurant's large clientele.
The food is delicious. But if you're in a hurry, don't go; they're a bit slow. They had a set menu on a Friday, and it took us an hour and a half to eat once we were seated, not including the wait time at the bar. I went back very recently, in May 2024, and I waited 28 minutes between the first and second courses! The service is disastrous. Unprofessional. Few people working for so many customers. The steak was delicious, though. And the octopus too, well done.
Good food!
Menu
We've always eaten there when we're in Santiago, but the quality has gone down a lot! We ordered the set menu: octopus for the first course (they didn't have anything else) and some super thin lamb chops for the second! It was the first time we'd been there and we'd still be hungry.
It's pointless to book. The day I booked was a hot day, we had a time for two, but the place was full, and they sent us outside in over 30 degrees with no shade. Thirty minutes later, when a table of two people came up, they sent us inside, and once we were seated, the service wasn't exactly friendly. They weren't rude, but I felt like they were blaming me for making a reservation. I was always friendly, though; it's a busy place, and I know what it's like to work in the hospitality industry. However, don't book; they don't hold tables. They'll hold them until the first customers leave and it coincides (or not) with your reservation time.
We went for lunch on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, by chance, as the place we intended to go to was closed and this EIXO was recommended to us because of its proximity. They don't have a menu, and the waiter told us they only have octopus, calamari, prawns, and grilled pork (if it's good, perfect, that's fine by me). We ordered one order of calamari and one of grilled pork. They brought the calamari (they were frozen, the typical big, oily rings that you can play hula hoop with). The churrasco (they brought six strips about 12 cm long that were all bone and burnt to a crisp) meant we had to ask for more meat (just like before) because what they served us felt like we hadn't eaten at all. We got up and left, refusing dessert or coffee, after paying 55 euros. In short, I won't be going back to that place, not even to Heredar, and it would be a mediocre place for the animal world. They do have one good thing going for them... video-monitored parking (I doubt it works).
Bad. 27°C (85°F) heat, and they put the air conditioning on for 20 minutes in a dining room with 45 people. After 20 minutes, they took it out, and after putting up with some expensive tricks, they put it back on. They send you a menu when you make the reservation, and when you get there, you only get steak, ribeye, and four appetizers. Nothing like what's on the menu. In short... never to return.
