El Landó Madrid Reviews
Classic spanish restaurant. Always good food wine and service. The tomato salad is delicious.
the food was absolutely delicious! such nice ingredients that work so well on their own: the tomato salad, the artichokes, the bread! Jesus was such a kind and great energy waiter as well!
Great!! 2nd time visiting, and i found it even better than the first! We loved: Jamon croquetas (best in Spain, & we ate a ton), the tomato salad (insanely good, & i hope to be buried with some), any steak (esp. The churasco for 2), & of course the tortilla con chorizo. The staff are terrific & super-friendly! Highly recommend!
Miguel, Javi, Javier thank you so much for an absolutely amazing experience. This meal was truly the perfect Spanish experience. Every plate was exceptional!
This place was beyond amazing. I must've made a mistake when trying to make the reservation, as it wasn't in their system when our large party arrived, yet they treated us greatly and made space for us to eat dinner. Upon sitting, atmosphere was spectacular, food was unforgettable, great service, and so much more. This should be at the top of your list for dinner in Madrid. The appetizers were all great, churrasco was delicious, and everything else the server recommended was perfect. 10/10 Spanish cuisine.
WOW... this place was amazing from start to finish. Tomato salad, clams, fish and roasted lamb. It was all fabulous. The big boss (Chef) came by several times to check on us. I tried, without success, to get him to take a pic of us for his wall of fame. I told him he needed an American football coach on the wall. Maybe next time. Don't miss this place!!!
This is one of my favorites in Madrid, you can’t go wrong eating in this magnificent place. From starters to entrees everything great! House wine Contino is Amazing! Finish with a delicious arroz con leche and a cortado coffee. We were lucky to see Angel, he is retired and Alejandro has taken the management doing a great job, he is also great!
Absolutely beautiful! The service was amazing! waiter and what a waiter, he is the best, The Best waiter iv ever had. He helped choose the menu and made sure my group was well entertained. It's no wonder so many celebrities come here! I highly 100% recommend this place! I cannot emphasize enough! You have to come here!!!
Ok I’ve been leaving a few five star reviews in Madrid. But wow these restaurants are good. Today we tried almost everything. But can we start with the house wine?! How is it so refreshing? Tomatoes - just full of flavor Tomato toast + jamon…. What can I say. It is shockingly good jamon. Heuvos rotos - is like an egg fry…. Oddly delicious and unexpected… evidently a typical Madrid favorite but quite good. Fish, steak, clams, lamb… all of it was great. The vibe was classic. Pictures everywhere - reminded me of walking into a 1970s American movie star steakhouse in Palm Springs… except real, Bette, delicious food! So good!
I really think that this place deserves to have 5 stars. Everything that we had was delicious and very tasty. I read some lower rating reviews and realized that these people does not understand "nothing" from food. Each plate, from the simple tomato salad to the desert was in one word delicious. Highly recommended the "Angulas" and for sure the simple grilled artichoke and for sure the desserts. Highly recommend to have a meal here. The only thing remember that you can reserve a table only by calling them. You do not have the option to reserve on line. The place is very popular for the locals therefore highly recommended to reserve a table. The service that is wonderful is an addition to the place. Signor Alecandro the owner is taking care one by one to each table. That is showing how he care about the service. A must when you are in Madrid.

I had a delicious outdoor meal here. The grilled sole was delicious and filleted table side by a very professional and friendly server who helped choose an appropriate wine. Also had croquetas …
WILL IT STAND AFTER SO MANY YEARS? UPDATE :-) This is one of those restaurants that you know since for ever. So I was somehow afraid if finding a dusty old fashioned restaurant with too classic dishes. No dusty at all and yes classic preparations, thanks God! They keep the essence of classic restaurants with the best products and careful cooking. The jamon is of the best class available, the grilled green asparagus delicious, the broken eggs "huevos rotos" unforgettable, meats tender and tasteful... All was good and service classic (no runners and bussers) but eficient. So I recommend it. And I also recommend a view from the square beside and to the environment in general. >>>UPDATE<<< Today we have been trying some other dishes. On every table they have ready a plate of sliced tomato, please keep it and order some ham, is a heaven combination. Ham from Dehesa de Extremadura is just delicious, superb, excellent. We have also tried grilled white asparagus "pericos" that are a compendium of tenderness and taste. Finally the spring bolletus mushrooms with warm egg yolk and foie are indescriptible. You have to taste them. Problem, still many things that I want to try. Update 2022 the huevos rotos are absolutely delicious, see picture
El Landó is a wonderful, classic, Madrileño experience. When you sit at your table, you will have a wonderful tomato carpaccio waiting for you, as well as delicious bread. The dishes are very varied, and offer the most renown dishes from the Spanish capital. Would definitely recommend the Jamon iberico, the pan con tomate, garlic shrimp, patatas estrelladas (potatoes with eggs), and the entrecôte. Desserts are all good to share, and would recommend you to close the night with a Pacharan or another Spanish poussecafé.
