Wanderlust Madrid Reviews
Sencillamente espectacular.
Mi experiencia hoy domingo 8 feb 16:30 a 18:00 fué exitosa. Enhorabuena.
Yesterday I went to this restaurant with my partner to redeem a Smartbox voucher, and the experience was wonderful. The menu was very complete and the food was delicious. Furthermore, the staff who served us were very friendly at all times. We will definitely return another day.
A Complete 5-Star Experience My visit was a delight. The bartender was not only charming and very helpful, but also attentive to detail. In addition to the warm and friendly service from him and his colleagues, his cappuccino was spectacular, prepared with great care and to perfection. I'd add that the rest of the food was a 10/10. It's those little details that make you want to return. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!
Wanderlust in Shopping Center X is a hidden gem in the south of Madrid, ideal for anyone seeking a spot with a modern vibe and a welcoming atmosphere. I visited with friends recently, and we instantly felt comfortable, soaking in the casual yet trendy setting. The menu offers an impressive mix of local flavors and global inspiration. We tried a few dishes, and the burger stood out as the highlight—it was incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared, adding a unique twist that we all loved. The food presentation was thoughtful, showing attention to detail without being overly fancy. Service was attentive and friendly, which added to the experience. Despite being a popular spot, we never felt rushed, and the staff seemed genuinely invested in ensuring we enjoyed our time. They were happy to give recommendations and accommodate any preferences, which was a nice touch. For a location outside the main hustle of Madrid, Wanderlust offers a refreshing escape. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. It’s a fantastic spot for everything from a quick coffee to a full meal with friends. Overall, if you’re near the south of Madrid, Wanderlust is well worth a visit. Whether for the food, the ambiance, or just a break from the usual options, this place doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend trying the Burgos!
Excellent food, customer service, and patience with our limited Spanish. We enjoyed their vegetarian options (they have plenty of non-vegetarian options) and selections of beers that are not available in the USA. We will definitely be back next time we visit X-Madrid!
Re pro
The food offering are good, excellent value for sure and the ambiance inside is nice, one of the best in X-Madrid, they also have good beers, but the servers are not the best.
Great with small children! Friendly staff.
Set menu €13.90. Includes 1st and 2nd course, drink, bread, and dessert or coffee. 1st course: Cream of vegetable soup. It was good. 2nd course: BBQ ribs and potatoes. They seemed reheated and a bit dry, with BBQ sauce on top. The potatoes were homemade but bland. The bread, as seen in the photo, was a slice of sandwich bread cut in half and toasted. Service was adequate.
Extremely slow service; it easily took 40 minutes from when we ordered until our food arrived. The food wasn't bad, but the tuna belly salad was very expensive for what it was—just tomato and some tuna belly (I'd say it was canned tuna). The grilled flank steak was juicy and flavorful; I do recommend it. Another issue is that they don't accept restaurant cards.
Today I went out to dinner with my friends. It was a nightmare. To begin with, it was freezing cold, my love handles were practically frozen. Then, we went to the bathroom because I desperately needed to pee. The women's restroom was closed due to a problem, and the men's had vomit in the overflowing toilet, which forced me to pee in the trash, something I wouldn't recommend to anyone. As if things couldn't get any worse, they took our dinner order. We ordered three appetizers and a mixed grill for six people. I asked the waiter if the portions were adequate. He replied, "That's hardly enough, it's for three people." So we decided to order another appetizer, to which he responded, "That's for four people." We decided to ignore him because, judging by his tone, we thought he was trying to take advantage of us. After waiting 45 minutes, a waiter asked if they had taken our order, to which we replied yes. Five minutes later, the guy who took our order at the beginning and tried to take advantage of us approached and suggested we "double-check the order," instead of admitting he'd forgotten it with our food—the proud fellow! After repeating our order three times, we finally received some calamari we never ordered. Two hours later, we were still waiting for the huevos rotos (broken eggs) he recommended adding because "they were for three people." In short, he tried to rip us off, since the three appetizers and the mixed grill we ordered initially were more than enough. What a shameless crook! Two arrogant and overbearing waiters wore gray sweaters and vests. They didn't even bring us knives or bread—this is outrageous! THANKS FOR READING.
The experience was awful. We were served by the supposed manager, a balding man wearing a staff vest. He was very unpleasant, to put it mildly. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which had a glass partition and was freezing cold. We were with two young children, barely three years old, and they only provided a highchair. He constantly complained. We took out a plastic mineral water bottle belonging to one of the children, and he told us we couldn't have it because it wasn't from his establishment. He was rude and unpleasant. Personally, I would never have someone like that in my business because all he does is drive people away. The food was bad; the meat was dry and tough. The only positive thing was the waitress and waiter, who were pleasant. I will never return.
Well, my experience at this establishment... well, more like my non-experience, since I went in and out... I arrived with my partner at 11 am and the almost bald, overweight waiter told me we'd be there until 12 at the latest and to order quickly because the kitchen was closing soon. He offered us a table near the door, and since it was cold, my partner asked if we could go further back. He offered us a high table, even though there was another empty table for four next to it with nicer armchairs. My partner asked if he could give us the good one, and the reply was that another, larger group might arrive. We looked at each other and left because of his rudeness and nonsense, since supposedly the kitchen was already closing.
We went to "Wanderlust" and we still don't know if it was a restaurant or a social experiment. They wanted to charge us €6 for five mini rolls, freshly defrosted right in front of us, with the plastic bag still shiny. And to top it all off, €1.50 for a single takeaway bag, even though there were six of us. A complete disgrace. The service... speechless. Two waiters with the attitude of bouncers at a nightclub, even though the place was empty. We were the only customers, and they still managed to make us feel out of place. The food seemed like it had just come out of the freezer, bland and unprepared. The only fresh thing was our disappointment. Conclusion: luxury restaurant prices, highway diner service, and frozen supermarket food. A perfect place if you want to pay a fortune to be angry.
Don't eat at this place if you don't want to be ripped off. Six of us went for dinner tonight; we were the only customers all night. We arrived at 10:00 PM and ordered three starters: some decent chicken fingers, some broken eggs with ham (which were basically fried eggs with no yolk and practically no ham), and some nachos with cheese that had very little cheese. Even the waiter couldn't tell the burgers apart, and they didn't care about how the meat was cooked. One burger was well-done and completely raw. Aside from all that, the place was freezing cold; it was 8 degrees Celsius outside, and they didn't turn on the heating. All six of us had to wear coats. The waiter didn't pay any attention to us; we had to get up to ask for drinks. If he'd been paying attention, we would have ordered three Cokes, but since dinner was getting on and we couldn't see him anymore, we just ordered three glasses of water. When the bill arrived, they charged us for six bread rolls at €1 each, completely dry, even though we'd only eaten one and taken a bite out of another. So, after complaining that we hadn't asked for bread at any point and hadn't been told they were going to charge us, they charged us €2 for two dry rolls that we'd seen the cook take out frozen in her hand. When we went to order half a burger to go, they told us it was €1.50, and when we were stunned, they told us that a bag was included too. Then, at 10:40 PM, they turned off the music so we'd leave.
The truth is, our experience was bad. We went for dinner on a Thursday and the truth is, the place felt bleak. It was cold for dinner, so we had to wear a coat (the waitress was also serving us in a coat). We ordered a glass of red wine, which we had to return because there was no one to drink, and the tough grilled meat wasn't... The next best thing. Most of the cuts were inedible. For dessert, we ordered a brownie that, while not bad, was obviously pre-made. I don't understand how they're still open.
Horrible place. They decorated very beautiful but the waitress (who looks like Sudamérica) was un kind even she looked angly . No aperitivo also. Food is awful so go another place if you don't want to feel miserable your time.
Service poor (unwilling to give us glasses of water) and food mediocre
