Olympic Diner Mahopac Reviews
I think all the people who gave low ratings are stooges or nuts or competition. Great people, fast service, lots of food with order and great taste. I have gone there over 100 times maybe more and not a single bad experience
My sister & myself go there very often, my family loves this place, Food is always fresh, large portions, service is awesome, place is very clean, friendly staff. Owner is always there. Love this place.
There on a Friday morning and the food was good but the waitress was terrific. Didn't catch her name but she was attentive and friendly. Very nice meal with my daughters, mom and brother
It's one of to many places I like to eat the food the service
Great customer service. Loved the booths, they had little jukebox. That was the highlight of the meal. Play some nice music and had great conversations. The waiter was nice, friendly, kept checking if we had a good time. Just friendly all around.
My husband and his family have been going here for years and my in laws would go every single week. My mother in law would always get the Greek salad and my husband and my father in law would always get the skirt steak (since I knew them) OVER 10 YEARS!!!!! Unfortunately my Mother in law just died on Oct. 10th 2023 from a vicious cycle of Colon Cancer stage 4. She and my father in law Victor, went there every Friday for dinner. Sometimes it would be all 4 of us, sometimes 3 of us, but the times I got to join in, she always said she loved this place. I have NOT ever heard her say that about another place.
Great food, familiar and consistent service served with a friendly face and attitude. My preferred diner in the area even though there are two others that are closer to me. Clean, chrome, and classic styling creates a comfortable casual setting that you can walk into at any time of day. I personally love the French Toast and the hot Cowboy Sandwich.
We were greeted by the cutest waitress ever! She was knowledgeable about the menu, the food was great, so much so that we took it home and I will be eating it for lunch this week.
There an Olympic diner that just got sold in Connecticut on Berlin turnpike. Looks like we will have to drive to NY to eat at an Olympic dinner. Old diner's must not die.
This diner is great. The waitress is a very nice person!
Food is decent. Service is great. Nice diner
Really not much to complain about here. I've been a customer for many years and service is always good. Fresh food and loads of selection. Prices have gone up in recent years but can't hold that against them- all restaurants (even fast food) has gone up post-pandemic, right?
Best diner in this area. Stopped in for a quick lunch before heading down to NYC & Long island. Had BLT plenty of bacon fresh tomato and crisp lettuce. Not bad for November. Side coleslaw & pickle always on the house, black coffee. Reasonable price, great service, pay the bill and gone.
The food and the portions were great. Everyone was stuffed. But I bought 3 of their huge chocolate chip cookies for $12 on the way out, and no one liked them at all. They weren't really chocolate chip cookies. They were more like lemony biscotti. That left a bad taste in our mouths, pun intended.
We enjoyed omelette, corned beef hash, eggs, French toast...fast, delicious and a great amount of food. We recently enjoyed ourselves bacon cheeseburgers, fries and a black & white cookie. Fast service, hot and tasty burgers...cookie yummy. Support your local restaurants when you feel safe!
Best local diner. Friendly staff and service is prompt. Food is good. Its a diner and not fine dining.
So glad that this diner is open all night. I will always come back for this as I have a lot of late nights. Service is great. Owner is the best. Thank you! Until next time 👍
Wow… where do I even begin? This diner is an experience. First off, the food was so special that we got to taste it twice—once when it arrived, and again when we sent it back. Talk about second chances! The waitress? Absolute queen of mystery. She kept us guessing all night by disappearing for long stretches—like hide-and-seek. She also blessed me with personally tailored commentary that made me question every life choice, why pay for therapy when you can just order a London broil here? And the free dessert? Genius move. They didn’t give it to me, which clearly means they’re saving me from myself. Health-conscious kings and queens, thank you for looking out. 10/10 recommend if you love unpredictable plot twists with your meal
I ordered the half chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. They gave me so much food I had enough for two meals and two desserts. All for $27. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
Food was great. Typical diner atmosphere. If you're in the area, I would recommend you stop if you're hungry
I've been a patron over the past 30 yrs. Definitely the family diner feeling, an opportunity to escape from cooking for the night. The food had always been good, n plenty, maybe a doggie bag. However, over the years, they've been missing the mark. It felt like a rollercoaster, but never knowing how yr next experience would be. One thing was constant and that was that, the staff worked very very hard, n were quite attentive. Right before COVID, however, I had gone there and the food was so bad, I couldn't even eat it. Now that's really bad if I couldn't force feed myself no matter the seasoning I put on. What made it even worse was, the fact that I was "treating myself," to a pricey dinner I always enjoy. Then came COVID, so difficult for all restaurants, they were hit too. Sadly however, alllll of their regular staff NO LONGER WORKED THERE, NOT ONE!! Management hired whoever's they cud but, the cook/s was terrible. Like, how do you mess up home fries? Still, I gave them my business during and after. They may've come through the storm but, not for the better unfortunately. I hope they'll eventually get better cooks, n steady workers. I just don't see myself going there as I had in the past. I wish them all the best.
Great diner, has that nostalgic that you look. Remember to bring some quarters, They have the little jukebox at each table. I enjoyed my favorite dish at a diner which is Belgian Waffle, Strawberries and a side of bacon. Waffle was perfectly cooked, strawberries were juicy. Support this place. 83/100
While visiting my elderly Aunt, we decided to try this place. We each enjoyed our dinner & they offer a very affordable soup or salad, entre, drink,& dessert option which we took advantage of. The service was excellent & the place was packed & had a line waiting to get in.
Nice local diner with friendly service. The food was good but some of the dishes and utensils are old and had stains on them which was a turn off. But like I said before, everything else was good so yes I will return.
Great breakfast with my lovely aunt. The meal was awesome and so was the service. No pressure or rush to leave - we had a lovely morning chat. Will come back again.
Nice food, clean toilet, friendly service, reasonable price
After giving this diner another shot, I’ve upped the rating from 3 to 4 stars. The gyro I had in the past was underwhelming, but having tried the breakfast, I was pleased. The service was excellent. I will definitely give dinner another chance in the future.
Sunday breakfast was here, my first time!! Tasty corn beef hash, but I forgot that when you leave New England real maple syrup really is not a thing which is disappointing!! There Mocha Coffee was very good, however, they do not cook the berries you order into their pancakes, so I do not understand upcharging like they are a part of the dish rather than a side. Cute decor, and cozy atmosphere!!
Maple syrup is an extra $2.99 if you want it with your pancakes or one of the French toast/waffle options that doesn’t have syrup explicitly included. $11.99 for a waffle out of a waffle maker with no extra work needed it bordering on ridiculous. Always someone sitting at the bar top with their phone either with a call on speaker or videos playing loudly. Today it was a woman on speaker phone. The server dropped the check while I was still eating, was asked if everything was ok but not if I’d like anything else. I had been planning to get something to go but decided against it.
Second time here. 2 soups. 2 Salads. 2 Sodas. All very tasty. Appreciate the Heinz Ketchup and Franks on the table. 65$ I'll be back.
We had lunch here, midweek. Food was good, with pretty typical choices: burgers, soups even full meals and desserts. Service was fast and friendly.
I went there for an impromptu late lunch. Seated with alacrity, the service was friendly and welcoming throughout. The ambiance was nice for a diner: quality jazz and well maintained decor. There's definitely a Greek vibe. I went with the moussaka which came with soup, ice cream and coffee. I took home the chicken stuffed with lobster, steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Everything was tasty and the portions are huge.
The portions were large. I just had a bacon egg and cheese omlet with home fries. The homefries had no flavor ..no pepper or onion and very dry. My son had chicken fingers with fries. The chicken fingers were shaped like the frozen box they came in. 4 very small strips.with 2 diet cokes 50 dollars.
Very impressive menu. Vsually really captures the "Diner" feel. The food I got was very tasty but it wasn't what I ordered. It was an honest mistake, and the server offered to get me what I originally ordered, but we had a 5hr drive in front of us and didn't want to add any extra time. I'd rate it higher but the prices were too steep for a diner style restaurant. Just under $40 for two people. A burger and fries, deli sandwich and fries and two cups of coffee.
Used to be a good diner. Not sure what happened. Ordered the pancakes the other day and they were tasted like bread with no taste. Had to send them back. What a disappointment.
I ordered chicken tenders and fries with mozzarella sticks, both of which were pretty good. But unfortunately the price for these two appetizers was $34. If you don’t mind spending nyc prices for diner food then this place will leave you satisfied.
This is a really cute old school looking diner. The menu is extensive. We all had chicken tenders and cheese fries and gravy. Quality of the food just seemed a little lacking. Out server had difficulty understanding our order but corrected it quickly. We also thought it was a bit pricey for diner faire. If we were in the area we might consider giving it a second try.
Good dinner, but lots of opportunities for improvement. My wife and I went for breakfast on New Year's Eve morning and ordered eggs, toast, and coffee. Within 5 minutes, the coffee arrives in a multiple stains of dried coffee and chipped cup. 25 minutes later, eggs arrived in a dirty plate with cold home fries. We even had a fly to keep us company. In the past, service was better. The diner was short staffed. It looked like 2 waitresses for the entire place. I hope they can make improvements, because they do have great pancakes, and the best Greek salad in town with feta cheese and anchovies.
I honestly couldn’t believe what I was reading when I saw the prices in the menu. $19 for a mozzarella stick appetizer seriously? Two scrambled eggs with bacon $17. I don’t know how people can go here.
The setting was typical diner. The service was excellent -- the waiters are prompt, attentive, and courteous, contributing to the family atmosphere. The food was plentiful and its impossible to eat it all. The cheesecake and lemon merangue were about triple the size of pie on most restaurants. But the food tastes bland. There's no seasoning.
I had the two eggs with turkey bacon meal and it was good. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and it just tasted like strawberry milk. The prices were way too high in my opinion compared to the quality of food. That milkshake was $10… $10 for strawberry milk basically. The waiter was nice however the woman at the front is not friendly at all. She seemed annoyed since the minute we walked in. Other than that the food was fine, mean how can you mess up on two eggs and bacon.
I don’t recommend the mixed drink, for the price expected a much better raspberry margarita…and ordered an Old Fashioned and got a margarita 🤦♀️…. Waiting on food, hoping it’s good. Edit to add food review, large portions and patty melt was perfect! Chopped steak dinner was delicious.
Love the 24 hours. Menu is colossal, even for a diner. I’d rather see a smaller menu so each dish, especially the staples, can get more care. Tuna salad was gamey. Baklava oversized mush. Fries were on point. The dinner specials looked generous and enticing. Good service. Overall I’m happy this place is there and wish them all the best. Edit: the panini I had when I went back has me wanting to add another star. Let’s see how it goes next time
The food was ok and there was no wait on a Friday morning around 11:30. The banana crepes were just slices of bananas in crepes that were smothered in whipped cream. The scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes were both overcooked. The potatoes were actually quite crusty and crunchy. Corn beef hash was good.
I went with my husband and my three year old daughter. We waited a long time after we got our drinks before anyone taking our order. I ordered pasta off of the children's menu and the one meatball had what appeared to be an entire raw onion in it. The sauce was greasy- my daughter spit it out and wouldn't eat it and she is a good eater. My husband ordered a burger Medium rare it came to him well done. My burger I ordered with no bun or no fries, and no onions as I am allergic to gluten and cooked medium with feta and avocado. It came medium rare, with onion rings. When I spoke to the manager she just said she was sorry, but no restitution. This was the most disgusting food that I have been served in a very long time.
Very expensive! Two lunches, a panini sandwich and BLT with fries and soda $55. They also tack on a small service charge for credit card use which I am not sure is even legal in New York.
Service was good, food was typical dinner, but very overpriced for breakfast, $19.99 for a Monte Cristo that came with no side and $16.99 for Eggs Benedict is crazy. A few sides and 1 beverage and our total was $65.94 for breakfast.
An immense menu and that had my hopes down. French toast was great. Turkey bacon was like leather, turkey sausage was like chewing on a dry tree branch. The chicken tenders were some minced and formed up meat. No taste at all. The menu is big enough for 5 different restaurants. Highly disappointed and for what I paid I won't be back! Maybe it's just me but my food sucked, total waste.
3 cheeseburger meals came out to 80 dollars without tip. overcooked and didn’t ask for the buns to be toasted and charged for refills when i didn’t ask.
Sunday at dinnertime the place was empty. My food - a fish dinner and a dessert - both had a chemical off taste and the fish texture was odd. My family was satisfied with their food - fish and chips, eggplant panini and eggplant Parm - but they will not be returning with me.
the quesadillas were great, But I did find hairs in my food, Not very sanitary if you ask me, one star would not go again.
Pancakes and burgers, nothing better than any other diner. The waitress seemed like she was in a bad mood. Only smiled when we walked out lol.
$27 for a BEC omelet and cup of coffee $30 with tip. I get stuff is expensive but holy hell did they overcharge for mediocre diner food. Not worth it find somewhere else. The tab for my coworker and I was $60 dollars for a chicken club wrap, seltzer & my omelette and coffee. Don't go, go somewhere else.
Came here on a random drive. OVERLY EXPENSIVE! $20 just 8 mozzarella sticks. $10 for fries.... $2 for honey mustard! Bland small portion of fries. Pie was old... Register woman wouldn't get off her cell to check us out. Total bill was $30 for just fries a pie and 2 drinks. Ridiculous. The only upside was server was friendly and place was clean.
The portions are typically large for a diner. But that's about all that is good about the food. It's totally bland. We had a bowl of chilly, a deluxe burger, and Vacation panini sandwich. Nothing impressive. The best part was their cole slaw, pickles and fresh fries. Just to be clear - I'm not a fan of french fries, but it was better than the sandwich. Their menu is really extensive as often happens in diners. But the prices are higher than your average diner, you'd totally get better food at a restaurant for the same cost. And keep in mind that they charge 3% surcharge if you are paying not in cash. I believe it's exorbitant :( I guess it is totally justified that they are mostly empty all the time.
No, no, no...Really low grade type food that costs way too much did not meat my taste needs. I didn't feel like I got a fair deal for what I paid. The service was slow like they really just didn't have time to be bothered. Took 1 hour for breakfast when the place had less than 10% of the tables with people at them. This was not right for me. 100% will not be back.
Don’t order Linguine with Clam Sauce! They do not even give one single clam in it! Just sauce and pasta. Charge you as though you are actually have clam pieces included! Never ever has any Restaurant served a dish like that in all my years and we’re in our 80’s…
Ordered Caesar salad the whole salad was the green ends of romaine. Couldn't even chew it. Penna ala vodka was so bland . Sent it back and manager had the nerve to try to berate me. I would give that lettuce to a rabbit if I had one. Overpriced. Empty. I know why now.
Went here at 11:00pm or so a few nights ago. The manger came over to take our order and was very rude off the bat telling my sister and I what my sister could and couldn’t get. The food took a while to come out and it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken tenders were very obviously microwaved and barely hot, the mac n cheese was watery and inedible. Not to mention there was hair in my friends parfet. We tried to get the attention of one of their staff members who were at the table next to us and he completely ignored us. We were so done at this point so we just asked for the check. At checkout we mentioned the hair in the food since no one would acknowledge us while we were sitting down at the table. The server then told us that we were lying and she could’nt belive us because a lot of people lie. She also said that we should have told her about the hair when we found it. Her manager came over and told us we were liars as well. She then started counting cash out loud in front of us ignoring us mid conversation. Then we went and got the hair that we found in the parfet and brought it to them and they proceeded to tell us that we just plucked our own hair and brought it to them when neither of us had black hair. When we told the manager that we tried to get the attention of one of their staff members she proceeded to tell us that he was a bus boy and it’s not his job to speak with customers. Overall she made us pay the full bill for the food we couldn’t even eat because it was contaminated, and she was beyond rude and snarky towards my sister and I. She then took our receipt from us which we had to go back and ask for. Overall this place has disgusting food that you can barely cut through or chew, and their customer service is unexplainably awful. Not to mention they are clearly violating DOH regulations.
the worst service ever. food absolutely sucks and i found a hair in my food. the people barely speak english and are pretty much incompetent. they forgot cheese in my cheese omelet. not quite sure how that happens, considering it’s a CHEESE OMELETTE, but i just ate some plain eggs because these idiots forgot my cheese! this is not the only time i’ve been unhappy with the food here. inside it is dirty there are probably rats. this place should be out of business immediately, the food is nasty and i honestly think that this diner is a biohazard waste warning that’s how disgusting it is. the manager told me that i was lying and they spit in my food. when i tried telling someone about it they turned to each other, started speaking spanish (which i don’t understand) and proceeded to laugh at me. this place is lucky i don’t take legal action, which i might.
Ordered breakfast and the bacon was raw and the avocado was brown . My friend ordered a cheese omelette and they charged more for not having the breakfast special. No substitution and they charge you for every little thing you ask for you’re only allowed one jelly for your toast. And they’re very very expensive not a happy camper.
My family and I always come to eat here and we have never been treated badly but today when we went to eat the waitress who attended us her name is Monica treated us very badly and with a very bad attitude we had to leave there without being able to order the menu I am very disappointed that they have people with very bad attention
I should've taken into consideration the 3.9 rating when I saw it, but I still have them a chance. Food was horrible. My daughter wanted seafood and I was kind of etchy ordering seafood from a place like this. A simple stuffed shrimp or whatever they called it smelled like feet. The waitress was nice and asked to get it replaced, but the smell alone from the original plate blew my appetite. The plate was a shell steak combo and it was obvious they didn't know how to cook a steak. I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND NOT TO COME TO THIS PLACE. IF YOU DO, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
Went to here at 8:30 pm for a meal with friends and went to order a single corona at the beginning of our meal and they asked for id from the whole table and when I gave all valid nys id the older lady from the front decided to come to our table and say you are not 21 no alcohol with a Attitude that was totally unwarranted. Keep in mind we are all 22 years old.unacceptable behavior
Should have read reviews prior, and I should've turned around when I opened the door and saw the waitress sitting there like she was regretting all of life her choices, but I didn't, so kinda on me. Don't eat here folks
This place has gone down hill , food average, service terrible and the owner wouldn’t take off a $10 drink that was terrible and sent back. We won’t go back
Even worse than our first experiences when we moved to the area long ago. The menu had nothing less than - call it - 20 dollars per person for LUNCH! We ordered a soft drink and glass of beer before we saw the menu .. and that was 16 dollars. Once we saw the menu we just settled the drinks and went home to cook our own lunch. Absurd.
I’m just leaving the diner and I can tell you I am never going back. This was the first time I have ever gone to this diner and it was terrible. The first interactions my friends and I had was with a rude worker who didn’t even seem to want to be there. Within the first few bites of our meal the food tasted terrible and bland. I got a simple salad with grilled chicken and I’m slightly worried I got food poisoning. My friends had to drench their food with seasoning to even eat it. We asked one of the waiters if we could get ranch, tell my why it took 15 minutes to get a cup of ranch and multiple requests. We asked a waiter if it would be possible to split the check and they said yes. We painfully finished our food and asked for the check. Our waitress slammed the take out container on our table and walked away. We also again asked to split the check and were told we weren’t able to. When we looked at our check and realized we were overcharged. An 18% gratuity was added to our bill. I understand it is late but 18% is way over what someone should be forced to pay. We scrambled to pay for the check and the lady at the counter gave us a nasty attitude. I am never going back.
Was never a fan of this diner’s food but its proximity to my job and its large menu appealed to many of my colleagues so I occasionally ate there with them. A few days after Hurricane Sandy years ago, I was presented with a “BL” instead of a BLT. Why the waitress didn't inform me that they had not had time to go buy tomatoes &, therefore, could not execute my order was beyond me. Of course, i sent it back; she looked shocked. I ordered something else. I don’t remember bring wowed with my order. I didn't return for a number of years. Recently, I’ve met a friend there several times since it’s most convenient for her. I felt the prices were high! Today took the cake. $9.99 for 2 eggs, any style (just eggs!). I had a mediocre toasted corn muffin instead. I’m not opposed to spending money, for sure, but really??? I came home and made scrambled eggs! Our waitress did her job but looked exhausted and had little personality, which seemed to match those of the owner and other staff. I will encourage my friend to meet me elsewhere next time…and the time after that….
The hostess who took us to our table was so rude and unwelcoming that we decided to leave. From the moment we walked in, her attitude was unpleasant and unfriendly. Someone with that kind of behavior should not be working in customer service. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we didn’t even stay.
Went here for lunch as I was craving a burger after having to fast for a hospital procedure. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger deluxe, where I was charged extra for the cheese and 2 strips of bacon cost $4. My Mom got the same but didn't want the deluxe. When her burger came there were no fries. Fries were always included in the regular burger, they then charged $5 for a side of fries to be added to her order. We also split an order of Mozzarella Sticks for $17.99 for 8 sticks and bad tomato sauce. The bill for this modest order was $72. That doesn't include the tip or the 3.5% fee for using a credit card. I couldn't believe what they charge for food. This is definitely the last time I come here. Its an average diner at best, the food is just not worth that much.
$18 for coffee and Bacon, Egg & Cheese on an English Muffin. Full breakfast items were all about $16-19, anything extra you pay for. Not surprised there’s not too many cars in the parking. Dinners are way up there too.
I came to this diner with my friend and as we were waiting for our food my friend and I noticed one of the waitresses come out of the kitchen, carrying what appears to be a fruit salad for a customer. This woman is picking out fruit for herself and eating it with her BARE hands. No gloves, doesn’t use a spoon or anything, then she gives the rest of it to the customer…that is absolutely nasty! My friend orders a dish with mashed potatoes in it. When the waitress comes to bring us our food, as she’s placing my friends dish down her THUMB was inside the mash potatoes, what I’m about to say will shock you even more. She takes her thumb out and as she says “enjoy guys” she SUCKS THE MASH POTATOES OFF HER THUMB NAIL. We didn’t even look or touch our food it was that gross, the people here are Absolutely nasty, not attitude wise, just disgusting 🤢
Food not good and overpriced. Lunch for two adults and two small children was over $60 and was left mostly on the plates because it was just not good, with one order of bagel and lox returned as not edible and possibly spoiled (even with this removed the bill was over $60). Much better options for diner fare within a 10 minute drive.
Had a really bad dining experience here around graduation season where we (A group of 3) waited for about an hour and a half for our food before finally just leaving. A group of 12+ showed up 15-20 minutes after us and had their food within 30 minutes of arriving. Staff didn't care in the slightest. We weren't even rude, just were sitting there occasionally asking for the waitress for an hour and a half while being visibly annoyed. Haven't been back since. Food was decent but not amazing when I was there prior. (For those wondering, the place was busy but not packed or seemingly overwhelmed) I personally am willing to drive 6 more minutes to go to the Coach Diner in Yorktown, but I assume my experience at Olympic isn't the norm.
Used to come here with family and wasn’t terrible. Now this past Monday I had the worst experience I may have ever had at a restaurant. Food not only took awhile, but the manager and waitress were extremely disrespectful to me and my party. Food wasn’t even good, I am super disappointed in how they treated us. They were snarky and put words in our mouth threatening to call the cops. I will never go back again till I part ways with this beautiful earth.
My mashroom omelet was very crunchy and had no flavor. It had a lot of egg shells. The home fries were undercooked. The lady who came pickup our empty plates had disgusting heavy duty gloves on. Pancakes were good. Never again
I ordered a bacon egg on a roll The bill came, $6.99 for an egg sandwich $2.00 for bacon and $1.50 for a roll... ahhh what? Chicken tenders with fries $18.99 the chicken was a processed chicken... BS A big disappointment NEVER AGAIN
Not only was my food hella greasy & overpriced but the manager was a nightmare of a human being that made it difficult to pay for our food when we went. Mind you, the waitress were lovely, just the manager made it impossible to seperate a check for a large group. My first and last time ever at this diner
$22 for pancakes are you booking and $20 dollars for and omelette. When ever I come here whatever I get I always get food poisoning and the servers are rude
This place had one server on a Saturday night and is SO EXPENSIVE. $22 for a chicken quesadilla?? And $22 for wings?? Used to be a good affordable place…not anymore. Also after waiting 20 minuets for our ordered soda’s that we never received, we walked about because we also never put an order in. 1/4 Table’s had food on it and they were complaining about the wait. What a shame.
Overpriced and deceptive pricing for meh food. My wife ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich (10.99!) She told the waitress that she wanted onion rings with the sandwich which was supposed to be an additional $3.99 for a Deluxe. They charged us $11.99 and told us that we ordered a "side" and not an add-on to the sandwich. In what world are an order of diner onion rings $11.99? Everything on the menu was overpriced. I ordered an egg salad club @ 15.99. That plus two sodas came out to $53.45. I understand inflation, and I empathize with anyone in the food service industry especially during these times, but this is just greedy. NEVER AGAIN!
RIP OFF REPORT: $15 is how much this meal just cost me after tax and a 4% fee for using a credit card. What i got was an ungodly amount of fries and four tiny chicken tenders. Absolute rip off. I would advise getting more value for your money and eating elsewhere. There are a million places to eat in Mahopac that don't price gouge. Ridiculous. I'm never going back.
This diner was the closest place to eat after my daughter finished her gymnastics meet at Eclipse, and since we’re not from the area, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food was overpriced for the quality. I ordered the chicken and shrimp francese, which lacked flavor and was undercooked. The shrimp also had an unpleasant, fishy taste. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant, not freshly made. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this diner.
I travel the east coast often and I like to stop in at local diners, unfortunately this was NOT a good experience whatsoever, I ordered a cheeseburger nothing special the waitress was very friendly to me she took my order I received my cheeseburger I asked it to be cooked well done I proceeded to eat my burger and it didn’t taste fresh and it looked like it was a store bought frozen and thawed patty and it was medium instead of well done so unfortunately I don’t recommend this place plus the prices are super high, a soda a water and a burger cost me $30 so beware if you order a burger here it’s definitely not going to be fresh it’s probably boxed patty’s.
Olympus Diner is easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The prices are completely unjustified for what they serve. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap $20 without fries and received three dry pieces of chicken tossed with plain lettuce. No croutons, no cheese, no flavor whatsoever. It came with a random lettuce leaf and a slice of cantaloupe on the side, which honestly felt like an afterthought. For a place that’s been in business this long, you’d expect quality, flavor, or at the very least decent portions. Instead, everything felt lazy and overpriced. The portions are laughable, the food lacks seasoning, and there’s absolutely nothing memorable about the experience except the disappointment. Save your money — there are far better diners in the area that actually deliver on flavor, value, and service.
This place simply put is flat out criminal and should be investigated for its poor management and terrible quality of food. The food is incredibly overpriced at $19 for a plain wrap with NO FRIES on the side. But even worse than being overpriced is the terrible quality of the food. This wrap had only a few small chicken pieces inside of it. If you don’t mind paying $19 for lettuce and wrap then this place is for you.
