Cele Store Manor Reviews
Cash or check only! Cele felt like going back in time , it was great. Everything was great, I liked the brisket the most my friend loved the rips the best.
I did a Texas Chainsaw roadtrip I planned for 2 years, and it was well worth it, we stopped at the Gas Station, aka Cele store, used in 2003 Chainsaw, when we arrived it was close til later, however the managers was there and allowed us in to see the Inside the building to take a small tour. They were very polite and gave us many info bout the building and other movies that was filmed in the store... oh and the food smelled mouth watering, I reccomend fans and tourists to stop and hope ya meet the employees cause they were just amazing to talk to. Eli and Michelle
My son and I drove over 500 miles just to visit the Cele Store and eat its excellent BBQ! Don, the owner is such a character and super nice guy. He makes you feel like a regular when you come for a visit. My son and I will keep coming back for Saturday lunch whenever we can. We love this place!
This place is a Texas gem. Met Don, at the time we went they had no power due to the recent ice storm. But it was business as usual, we had some moist brisket, some damn good ribs (meaty) and juicy amazing sausage. Was so very special to finally visit here.
This place was AMAZING !!! Food was SOOOOO yummy and the people were awesome. Just a great atmosphere and since our family just moved to Texas a week ago this was the best place to start our Texas Life 🤠😁 Highly recommend for the families. Will for sure be our weekend get away place. Can't wait to go back
The sausage and brisket were awesome, the band played on and generally, it's the best way to kickoff UT baseball there is. Thanks Raul
Unfortunately after 133 years has close since March 31, 2024.
Like stepping out of a Time Machine into a simpler time. Ribs were very good, and the people were amazing. Owners were so personable and so sweet to our daughter. No sides, no frills. Just a cool experience.
Parts of the Texas Chainsaw movies dunben filmed here y'all!

Great place for good old friends and family with a real down-home feel. Friendly and rustic atmosphere. Awesome food! Bring your own sides (potato salad etc.) if you want them, they have eveything else you need (drinks, onions, pickles, beer, etc.). Ice cream is for dessert! Loved the two guys working here, very hospitable.
I'm a long time customer who loves the staff and customers who frequent the store. The food is great with even better atmosphere provided by the people and historic building. Don and Mike have assembled a great team to ensure your visit is top notch. Janice, William, Calford, Mary, and Leslie add to the charm of the Cele Store. Make it part of your next dinning experience.
I grew up in Cele and the four I might be partial... but it is the best BBQ around. They don't serve sides but you can bring your own in. Same for liquor. You can BYOB and play for a set up. They do have beer though and live music every other Friday. The floors and walls are wonky and if matches for a great authentic old school bbq experience. Plus it's been in a lot of films and it's cool seeing things in there.
LOVE this restaurant! By far one of the best BBQ places I have ever eaten at and I’ve had a lot of BBQ in my life. FYI, if you plan on eating their on a Friday night you need to call and make reservation! Pros: The BBQ is to die for! I loved the unique style/design of the restaurant (1800’s OLD) The staff is top notch (such nice people) Cons: I thought the price was a little steep (something like $12 per person) The serve no sides, meat only (I was not expecting that at all) The restrooms where nasty Over all I would give the place a 4.5 out of 5

Decent food, great historic atmosphere, and friendly service. Definitely check it out if you want to time travel back 60 years.
You must see this gem in person! The owner and his wife were very friendly and attentive. We plan to go back for beers and music soon.

This is the best barbeque I have ever had. The meat comes with, onions, pickles, bread and crackers. If you want potato salad and beans you will need.to bring your own. Service was great at first but got annoyed when we stuck around and took pictures. This is a photographers paradise. Will go back when we can.
Loved this little random BBQ joint. The building has cool old history. Old dudes chillin in the back room playing cards when we walked in. The bar side has really neat antiques from days of old. Food was solid. Sausage and ribs were my fave. A step back in time with good Q!
So it's good BBQ.its not amazing BBQ you'd wait 3 hours for but it's good. We tried everything they had and I was pleased with all of it. Bring own sides if you want them. They don't have anything but potato chips. They do encourage you to bring your own sides so they won't look at you funny if you do. I thought people were joking about it until my first visit. all the cokes and waters are bottled or cans. The staff is great. They treat you well and will come around and say thanks for coming in and check on you multiple times. The service was exceptional. The building is old so if your rickety on your feet bring a cane or something. The floors aren't quite level anymore(understatement). There is lots of cool memorabilia on the walls and they are very family friendly. They treated my 2 year old like he was a little King and gave him his own tour of the place. I will be returning here. One final important note, they don't take cards so bring cash.

Service was good, people seemed genuinely friendly. Food was sub-par though - ribs came out cool(fat was starting to congeal), brisket was on the dry side and cut into cubes(???), cheese that was on the side had NOT been refrigerated(!!!), and the sauce they produced came off more like tomato soup than anything I've tried. Was really disappointed, had high hopes for such a cool-looking place off the beaten path!
