La Costa Manteca Reviews
Hands down still the best taco spot ive found in Manteca. The service is always fast and friendly. The atmosphere is perfect with a small indoor dining area as well as a large wrap around outdoor seating area.
Cash only. Really good burrito 🌯. I usually love the oysters, but this time they were a little off. Maybe seasonal thing?? Overall great taqueria.
Always on point. I wish their ceviche had more consistent cuts. I find whole shrimp sometimes..but their burritos and tacos are also amazing.
Had Al Pastor and Cabeza. Next time I'm in the area I will starve myself for a few days so I have room for much more. The salsa was amazing. Great...now I am hungry.
La Costa has to be one of my favorite taquerias in town. The food is so authentic and I believe this restaurant is family owned and operated. Consistently good food and service. Never had an issue!
The food is so good. We came here three days in a row. It's that good. Try the Al pastor it's amazing. The asada is good too and the carnitas is just okay imho. The staff is friendly, funny and nice.
Best carne asada burritos! Always one of our first stops when we come back home to Manteca. Bummed the price has almost doubled in the last few years, and the recipe has slightly changed. I get the burrito with whole beans now and it's close to what it was 8+ years ago!
After living in Manteca for 5 years we finally tried La Costa. The ceviche was delicious. Overall the food was great. Highly recommended. The oysters were good and fresh. Bring cash. Cards are not accepted.
The best burrito I've ever eaten. Carne asada is the bomb go easy on the rice next time but I drive 8 hours do have that burrito again. I've eaten two burritos in two days if I was here or third day I would make it a third burrito. Don't change a thing
People might not be a fan of here but when that red salsa hits that Al Pastor burrito and you squeeze some lemon on top and add some salt, as you pull that savory burrito towards your mouth the whole world stops and nothing else matters but you and that burrito. After that heavenly bite, quickly follow it up with some grilled chilies (be sure to ask for chiles asados) and repeat the process over and over and over. I'd give them 10 stars if they'd let me.
Delicious. Yummy. One of the better "fast food" Mexican restaurants around. Very friendly. When I had no money and offered to work for food, they gave me my order to go. Hands down, one of the best mom and pop restaurants to frequent and support.
This place used to be so cheap and sooooo good. It's no longer cheap and although the food is still good, it has changed. I still enjoy coming here to this spot but unfortunately it's changed. I remember the $2.50 burritos and tortas al pastor that were finger liking good.
Love this place. The quality of their meat has declined somewhat. And I wish they would take card, but it's always fast and friendly.
Amazing food, awesome atmosphere, fast and friendly service. 10/10 would come here again.
Food is always fresh and made quickly so if your hungry this place will have you eating in less then 10 min sometimes even 5 min with these really experienced chefs and excellent customer service, they also make it exactly how you want it. So I asked for 2 chicken super tacos, Extra meat, add shrimp (if you prefer), add rice inside and crema with the tortilla crispy and cebolla asada (sautéed onions) on the side.👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wish they had an option for 10 Stars cuz I definitely would have picked it. Amazing food nice customer service and never have I ever had an issue! I even find myself feening for their food sometimes it's so good. Highly recommend just remember to bring cash.
I love this place. The food is good and inexpensive. Staff is beyond friendly. I'm here at least twice a week. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!
The previous reviews do not lie as far as what we had, the carne Asada burrito. This burrito was bombdotcom. I was contemplating ordering something else while we waited however order came out superfast and I took it as a sign to save me from ordering a few other things that I can now have a reason to come back and try. P.S this place takes cash only so when you go to ATM pull more than 20 lol even though I thought prices were reasonable, I wanted to order and try it all.
Great food, great service, decent price. Outdoor seating is pretty nice, indoor seating is kind of small and plain. Overall, place is clean. My daughter and I like to ride our bikes here for lunch. Main complaint is it's cash only, but theres a few banks near by at least.
It’s not gourmet, the spot is a little small, BUT the food hits the spot, I promise. Whenever we are in Manteca this is where we stop to grab burritos. A must try are the Shrimp Tacos! So Yummy!
Food here is really great and fast!! I get Asada tacos 🌮 every time I come thru.
Will always love this Mexican restaurant. Its a slight bummer that their cash only but the delicious food makes up for it. Some advice, the food is the best on slower days because they have time to actually prepare it. Ive gone on Saturdays before and its very hit or miss, but thats simply because they have so many customers so they're trying to be as quick as they can. Honestly so other Mexican restaurant, food truck, or even home cooked can top this place.
The food and the service are exceptionally well , i have tried their quesadilla it was delicious, i strongly recommend this place if someone in a rush and want to have something quick and delicious.
Their steak burritos are magnificent. I must say very, very, very delicious.
I went to San Diego recently and was expecting some good tacos from there but surprisingly coming home and eating here was better and cheaper. The tacos are great, and I recommend getting the al pastor and lengua tacos with a bottled Mexican coke. This place is a classic.
Best burritos in the valley! I've been coming to this place for 10 years and I've never been let down. I wish they accepted credit cards but I've been programmed now it's not an issue. Tacos are fantastic. The salsa they put on everything is perfect.
My broham, Rick Carter turned on my broseph to this place and all I can say is wow. The food is delectable and the prices are great. Their burritos are the best in San Joaquin and Alameda County.
Great people. Large portions
Love the chicken super burrito. They're quick and delicious! My go-to for a quick delicious burrito fix! 😋 Reminds me of a SoCal burrito I once loved back in my college days. Also satisfied my 3rd trimester pregnancy craving!
Recommended by multiple people, I had to try this restaurant. It's worthwhile stop for fresh tasting food. The facility is clean and the service is fantastic. Plus your food order is completed quickly. A great 30 minute lunch stop for the limited lunch time crowd.
Shrimp cocktail was packed full. Could barely eat half the large.
I've been living in the area for over a year now.. I drive by here almost once a week.. How old is how the curiosity of stopping.. And now that I have.. I'm cursing myself because I should have came here before.. The food is great.. And for the price.. It makes it taste even better.. 😂
This is my most favorite place for lengua burrito In years I haven't found one same quality as here and I went back recently to see for myself that nothing has changed still the best in my mouth and tummy!!
Hands down, the best burritos EVER! The staff is incredibly amazing and compassionate. They've helped so many when they didn't have enough to cover their dinner. This is a weekly must have meal! My son had his good luck burrito before every football game!
Great food! Clean and quick service.
Authentic Mexican spot! The burrito was huge, the ingredients were great, and the prices were very reasonable. The cashier was super accommodating with my custom order. Highly recommend!
Big shoutout to eric, best customer services ever… he was kind, friendly and provided us with options to choose our meals 🤤 i got a cabeza burrito & my partner got a torda de carnitas and also a tostada de ceviche and let me tell yall this was very delicious 😋 i totally recommend it 💯 we will definitely come back again
First time I ate a burrito here was in 2001 when it cost $3.50. Now a burrito is $11 . Still worth the price, full of flavor.
Great food, I drive from 30 minutes away to eat here. Always fresh and seating available
I’ve been coming here for years - this place is delicious. The prices are fair and you get a good amount of food. You don’t normally have to wait long either. I can eat at this place several times a week. A must try if you like Mexican food. I always get an Al Pastor burrito without Crème and it’s deliciously packed with flavor - with a slight kick of heat.
And the dude said...it's Taqueria La Costa, they're the best. And then he goes on and on about how great the tacos are and the difference meats to choose from, then he starts telling me about his family, and how much each sibling likes the tacos....All I asked for was which way to a Mexican restaurant as I pointed in each direction of the street. Then some other stranger comes out of nowhere and punches him in the gut, and said go that way 1 mile and Taqueria La Costa is on the left. Get the Tacos de Carne Asada they're the best! They were Bomb! I got 8 of them. ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 STARS
This is by far my favorite taqueria! Everything is so good! I typically get the chicken tacos, but everything in the menu is great. The only down side is it is cash only but it's worth a trip to the ATM if you're like me and don't carry cash. I don't live in the area any more, but this is my first stop when coming back to town.
You know what, i personally like this restaurant and it's not just because the food. It brings me back to my home town san jose as they have a location there. so my decision to to give the 4th star was not because of my experience as i am trying to be as unbiased as can be. The location itself is very tropic and has a beach feel to it. Some pruning can be done but i swear im just waiting for a canary to come flying out at any time. The ingredients taste so fresh and this is where my two sides to the decision come in to play. I personally like Mexican/ Spanish food and love to taste all the ingredients in my burrito. I also do like to taste the carne when it's seasoned i did not get that experience here but my father inlaw on the other hand likes his carne plain. So i guess it goes like this its a great choice for those who love a great meal but without all the salt and swelling that'll come with it. Fresh produce and hot items to choose from. They've been in business a long time and truly deserve all the business they bring in. Keep up the good work you guys.
Food is always great here! No credit cards so take cash. There is an ATM inside I think. UPDATE!!! They take card payments now! Tap to pay! The works!
I ordered a couple super tacos and a mix tostada. I had barely sat down when they called my number. And the food looked good and it also tasted good as well. Will recommend.
I've been looking for a taco truck or shop who prepares delicious al pastor tacos. Based on ratings, I gave this lil roadside shop a try. The tacos were tasty but not the al pastor I became familiar with. No pineapple, lime, cilantro, or any of the garnish that I love. Friendly, fast service.
Great tacos- best in town. Also love their shrimp dishes. Outdoor dining was nice as we rode our bikes there and we're able to have bikes very close to us.
Best taqueria in town. Good size portions and everything is great. The Chile Verde is awesome and the chicken is very good. The Al Pastor is excellent too.
It's worth it to come and try their food. It's pretty good
This was my first time here. Their located in somewhat of a difficult spot to get into, but that aside, the young men were pleasant to deal with. The food was above par. Better than most taco shops I have been to. The atmosphere was pleasant even though their only available seating was outside. Based on the overall experience, they would definitely rate a second visit.
Food was good and fast. Wish they had a salsa in those little cups to put on burritos etc.
Prices keep going up and up, but still my favorite burrito in town. People are always friendly and accommodating. Service is quick, and food is good. But again, prices have me going less often.
Haven’t been here for a long time, but was a favorite simple grub and good menu selection. I just had the 2 tacos carnitas and asada. Plenty of meat in the street size taco. As always post wherever your palate decides to take you. Note. This place gets busy, get there early . Only outside seating.
I've been coming here for years. It ok, not great. They have raised prices and dropped quality. La Costa in Tracy is much better, and Brentwood and Oakley are amazing! Manteca is the worst of all.of them.
To tell you the truth I've only ordered burritos from this establishment but I have noticed there is a decrease in quality of the burritos alone so I kind of figure if they do that to one of their Foods they might do it to other dishes. Other than that it's an okay place to eat quickly quickly served something to get when you're kind of running out of time
Prices are not as advertised on their website, and it was 20 bucks for a burrito and a taco....RIDICULOUS Think I'll be finding another spot for food.
Since the change of ownership, the place has kinda gone downhill. The burritos are a lot smaller and the meat isn't as good. Even the beans, the most basic ingredient, aren't as good. This was Wednesday night dinner for my family for several years, but not anymore.
This place was the best! Would have given 5 stars, but they raised the prices for each menu item by at least a dollar...What a shame. Other than that, it is quick and good!
Carne asada burrito was ok but lacked flavor. It was difficult to eat with sauce coming out. They only take cash and the parking was limited. Average compared to the many really good taquerias in Manteca.
Tried for the first time and was disappointed. Tacos are super small, meats were similar in flavor that it was hard to tell what was what, from carne asada that didn't tasted or looked like it, to cabeza which was similar to asada. They skimp on the tiniest piece of reddish and 🍋 for each plate. I will stick to other taquerias that I know.
The food was okay it has changed next time I will get the Mariscos
Food is amazing, the only thing that lacked was the customer service. The girl at the front should definitely not be working the cashier, she had a bad attitude and is the reason I'm writing this review. She needs to be retrained or let go.
All the food didn't have no flavor at all not even salt fixed it's been awhile that I haven't not gone but there food has gone very down need to work on the seasonings the place is very nice seating area inside and outside music enough parking
Food is good, i got 2 tostadas with shrimp and octopus. I told them to chop up the shrimp but hey nobody's perfect, i get it people make mistakes. That didn't bother me what did bother me was the price $22 and some change. Like i said food quality is good but it is a bit overpriced in my opinion. Let me know if im tripping i don't go out much so let me know if that's normal or not.
Al Pastor burrito is definitely a no-go - at least half of it went in the trash - but I'm not going to give one star to a food joint on a single item. However, I'm traveling through the area and will only be here for 2 weeks so I'll probably seek out another place rather than return here.
I recently moved from the bay area and hadn't had a burrito in a while. Decided to give this place a try. I tried the carne asada burrito and was very disappointed. The burrito was large which is why I gave 2 stars. However, it had no taste/flavor and was very dry. I couldn't taste any sour cream at all. Just had zero flavor. Will not be returning. I'm gonna have yo wait until I go to the bay area if I want a good burrito.
Nice spot. Quick service. I had the Coctel de Camaron y pulpo $20. It was not good. It they not have flavor and it was room temperature. Very clean though.
Honestly i was disapointed. Ordered 2 tacos and and 2 ceviche tostadas and i got two tostada shells and 3/4 of a cup of shrimp. The tacos usually are great but they were super soggy. The area around the building smelt like someone was falling behind on taking out the garbage. This used to be one of my favorite spots, wasnt happy with my visit at all.
Came here twice, the food is just not great. Find another place! The burrito is poorly wrapped. The meat isn't delicious. The al pastor is runny and without amazing flavor. I hate giving bad reviews but this spot doesn't deserve the high praises. Maybe once upon a time it was
Decent. I’ve had better with drive thru restaurants. Good service but the food failed. Super nacho $13 barely had any chips (13-14 max). Added extra cheese. Didnt see much since it looked so “grey”. Google recommends it but wasn’t worth it for me.
Usually they do well but unfortunately I had a large order to go for my family and they got absolutely everything wrong. And refused to correct or even apologize for they're mistake. Instead or carne asada as our meat choice they filled our tacos and burritos with pig fat, it was disgusting. Along with all the other meals being not what we ordered at all, I can no longer say this place is anywhere near worth going
Very unpleasant place to eat. Never get the super nachos they blanket it with lettuce and use stale soggy chips that consist of very little toppings. If your looking for a presentable and good place to eat this aint it.
Ordered 3 super burritos with extra beef, (payed extra for the beef) and was skimped on meat in all three. The burritos weigh less than normal super burritos. They also fill their salsa cups up not even a quarter full. These people are cheap, and arent affraid to skimp you, especially if they are busy. Unacceptable. Never coming back.
Lately they have dropped the ball. We received a meatless burger. And those famous fries....cold. my Big Mac was sloppy. Super sloppy. Love Micky D's but they have got to step up💗💤😘.
Food here is extremely bland and weird tasting. I had pastor tacos worse ones I ever had in my life I've been close to 10,000 taquerias. Girlfriend had the asada tacos and the meat tasted weird she said. I didn't notice any stray dogs or cats in the area so I told her it was probably dog meat. Only thing good here to order is the rice and beans. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I mean just look at the demographics of people that order from there. Construction workers who just want food in their system and white people so yeah I should have taken those signs as all baaaaad. People that give 5 stars are either bribed or they are from the restaurant because they are smoking crack on them 5 star reviews.
Came here with the family , the oysters we ordered were not cleaned and had live worms coming out of them . We did not eat them and left . We won't be back .
They had better food when they had the truck only. Now it’s poor quality and taste - under cooked tamal, no flavor at all and ceviche over posted by onions, they used to have really good octopus tacos in a chili sauce in the truck and even the regular ones and they had birria tat was good there and then I bought a just a simple when the guy was working and it was horrible. And they changed the whole menu to just be like any other place except I do not like their food anymore. Gave them 3 chances going it was just do to them figuring it out… but nope.
The taqueria food is not good. Lacking flavor. Meat is dry. Ordered several items and they all tasted the same. The salsa isn’t flavorful just spicy. The ceviche is very very very limon-y and sour and the sauces are sitting outside in the heat/ sun so wouldn’t recommend using.. just go to Modesto they have better taco stands and Marisco spots. GrOssss and a waste of money.. $3 a taco lol no
Visiting from out of town and decided to stop by for dinner. I ordered the Mojarra Frita (fried mojarra fish) & it was absolute trash. No seasoning no flavor. Just plain, even with the salt and lime provided it was not salvageable. I don’t recommend eating here. Save your money.
They dont check credit cards. My card was l9st and scammer ate here.
Dont ask what I want N then continue to give me what I specifically said not to give me
Food was horrible. The carne asada was just crummy. The al pastor was under cooked. This place is the worst one i have tried. The Tracy location has better quality and consistency with their food. Avoid this location. The Tracy location also cost less.
Worst Mexican Restaurant in Manteca by far !! Ordered a Shrimp and steak burrito with lite rice. I received a 2 lb burrito with 1.9 lbs of rice !! The Tracy La Costa by far superior restaurant in comparison, hard to believe they are owned and operated by the same people !!
