Las Casuelas Manteca Reviews
I was very impressed with the service staff. They were very attentive and accommodating for our large group. The food was very good. I would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could.
I went with my family of 10 and we were able to get seated right away. they have a wait time estimate on their website and it was accurate we really appreciated it. I recognized that even tho some staff don’t speak spanish she fully understand it which was so cool too. I appreciated that for my family. the food was really good to be honest, I got a burrito supper burrito and it was 10/10 supper good. they also allowed my tiny dog in which was also sweet. nice place with amazing staff & food. thank you for our experience :))
Friday Date Night Returns to Las Casuelas Manteca. They have gotten better, especially their service! The food has always been delicious. We see a huge improvement in service, like the good ole days (pre-COVID). Both our servers were excellent and the food was ready fast. And yet, they were very busy. We enjoyed a drink with our chili rellano, cheese enchilada, whole beans, chips, and rice.
The best. Just the best. The best service, especially if you eat in the bar area. The food is so full of flavor and delicious. Really cute and fun for birthdays. The decor adds to the whole experience.
The Mocajuete is fire, thier bean dip and salsa is awesome as an appetizer.
I enjoy going here on Wednesday and sitting at the bar. They have specials on wine on Wednesday for $4 a glass. The pours are good size. McMannis is the wine brand which is local and tasty. The food here is also always solid.
I had the bacon shrimp wrap. Mine was cooked a little longer than my wife's was but still ok. Everything else was good.
It was great… I had albondigas two plate to be exact.. I order to go.. but it was quick and delicious…
Great food, reasonable prices but a little noisy. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a while.
Best molcajete I’ve ever had! Their food is so good! I live in the Bay and I keep going back❤️
The food was great, however had a little mishap with my burrito because there was a bit of salsa that I asked them to take off. Other than that, everything else was great. The service was very fast and accessible, and the inside of the restaurant was quite nice. The waiters were quick to fix things. I got a chicken burrito and carne asada enchilada.
Las Casuelas is a good Mexican food restaurant. You will find all the typical fare, tacos, burritos and flautas. You will also find different entrees like molcajete which is very good here.
This is a great Mexican restaurant to go eat, Celebrate birthdays or just enjoy dinner with the family. They have great service and the workers are so polite and friendly.
Very nice place, good food, the portions are really large you guys!!! You can share a plate between 2 o 3 easily!! It is delicious! The only thing I can say though is that we felt rush since the first moment we sat down on a table, it looked that the servers were in a hurry for everything and that is not nice, we even didn't have time to look at the menu properly and we didn't like that, but, everything that we had the chance to order was really good.
Had lunch with some good friends. Food is very good. Service exceptional. Recommend!
Some of the best Mexican food in Manteca. My wife’s favorite restaurant. We have been there for dinner, lunch. They have the best beans and salsa with chips.
Stop for dinner on Saturday 18 Feb , amazed to see the hospitality. Time we reach 5:15pm, easily get the table. Drink we order Ruby Margarita(good), Mango Paleta Michelada(must try) And Beer-rita(not happy). Food order - Chicken Fajitas(love it), Quesadilla Supreme(good) and Fried Ice Cream(must try, if don’t mind extra calories). While coming out, so many people are waiting, if planning to go reach early on weekends.
Came to eat here for a business dinner and sat at the bar. Not only was one of the coolest bartenders working there but she had great suggestions for food and everyone in my party really enjoyed their stuff. I will definitely return here next time I’m in the area. If you want to try something that is unheard of, try the fried flan. It is fries inside a flour tortilla and has a really interesting flavor.
Had the best night. Had a great laugh with the staff over dessert and if anyone wants to know, the chimi-flan was amazing
Super great place Service was perfect Me and my family really enjoy the dinner
Well, I thought I'd be just another Mexican restaurant, but as soon as I walked into the Las Casuelas Restaurant and smelled the amazing aromas...I knew right then and there this was no ordinary Mexican restaurant! I came to Manteca to give my old Triffids Arcnobbler to my pal Dallas Cromlonger because he's been eyeballin it for 30 years! It'll be a surprise birthday present and I'm giving it to him at the Las Casuelas Restaurant. The food...all I can say is...Man-O-Man...WOW! It was Amazing! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Francisco and staff: feels like family every time we walk in. The service is always friendly, attentive, and they effortlessly accommodate both our small dinners and larger gatherings. It’s such a blessing to have such a great place in our community! Food is always above excellent and drinks are equally good with a great selection.
Food was amazing! Our server Marisa was very nice and was quick getting refills on drinks or getting whatever was asked of her. Fried ice cream was my daughter’s favorite! Ten out of ten recommended
My husband and I love this place when we are craving Mexican food. The food is always consistent when we go and we try something new typically every time we visit. They offer a full bar and a variety of different drinks you can try from. It’s family friendly but also a great place to let off steam or go out for date night. I highly recommend.
I was seated down immediately and most of the times I go to a restaurant I usually have to wait around 60 or 70 minutes, when we sat down our server Carlos helped us alot since we were new to this restaurant he described all of the dishes we had asked and not only that recommended some amazing dishes that I hadn't seen me and my wife decided to get the most popular dish some enchiladas del mole and some ck fajitas everything was amazing and another man named Ismael ended up helping me with a to go order and when I got home everything looked amazing will come back again!!!
Had a great experience at Las Casuelas last night! David was our server and he was awesome, super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. The food came out hot and tasty, and he checked in without us ever having to ask. He really made the visit enjoyable. Definitely recommend asking for David when you go.
Came here this morning because my hubbies heard great things. It did not disappoint!! Tons of low carb options(which is unheard of!) and amazing food choices. I had Nopales with carne and whoa it was delicious!Chips came out with refried beans and hella good salsa!!Coors light on tap and TVs in the bar make it perfect. Staff super helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were super clean. Will totally be back for sure!!!
The restaurant had ample parking. The bar atmosphere was authentic and great customer service. The food was mouth-watering delightfulness that had my stomach wanting to eat more even though I was full. The wide selection of drinks helped quench my thirst while watching Sunday night football on 5 TV screens. Overall I would recommend this place to others and I will definitely be back the next time I am around. Thank you for your hospitality

Super yummy! I ate the Taco Salad with green salsa and pork. Rajas con crema is also realllly good with the shrimp. Highly suggest stopping in if you in mood for mexican food.

Really good Fajita. Got the tree meat Fajita, Beef, Chicken and Shrimp with flour and corn tortillas. It was great. Nice staff and service. We will be back!
Probably our 10th time coming here and will be back. Definitely one of the best Hispanic restaurants in the area. But service needs Major help. (Why I'm writing a second review. First review all 5 stars). Told Our waitress to give us a minute to order, then she never came back. Had to grab one of the bus boys who was extremely polite to get her attention. Then she came back, and didn't even apologize 🙄. Just a "Alright what can I get you?" Lol. Rude! Rude! RUDE! But we'll be back regardless Lol hope the service gets better guys! Cheers,
This was my second time eating at Las Casuelas and as before the food, the staff and the service were all excellent. This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in Manteca. Easy to find, right on Yosemite, one block west of union; with plenty of parking in back. Complementary: chips (not too thick/thin); salsa (spicey but not too hot); bean dip (good, better mixed with salsa). My mom had enchiladas del Mar (sea food), she said they we great. I had a chili relleno, just like before, and it was fantastic -just as before. Clean, family friendly and nicely decorated. Prices are moderate. This place does not seem to have a downside.
(as I sinfully rub my hands and grin) lol. Seriously though. This place is hands down one of the greatest Mexican style restaurants I've come across in Manteca. Wifey was the one suggested it to me as she'd been before. So I finally decided to check out her hype on it. Boooyy oh boy when I say the food was fighting worthy. I mean it. Lol ambiance was dope and homey feeling. Nice warm colors and historic Mexican villa vibes. Wait staff was very nice and on the ball with orders and off menu accommodations and recommendations. Food was delivered piping hot but not to hot as to burn us. I ordered a Pastor Tamale , Cammarones Chimichanga, & pastor enchilada. Covered in both chilie verde and traditional red sauce. With crema across the middle. (Very picturesque). Everything came with rice and beans which I ended up filling up on. Smh "what a rookie move" but hey... The meals for myself, my 2 kids and Wifey came out to under $80. OMFG!! I couldn't believe we got all we did for under $100. Say less we're definitely coming back. I have some good eats a few hours later when we made it home too. just on Sunday be sure to get there early as the wait gets a bit crazy. Which for sure is understandable after tasting the food. I highly recommend them as a MUST stop and try if you're ever in the 209 anywhere. It'll be worth the drive
I haven't been to Las Casuelas for a while. We stopped by for breakfast after a run. I have never come here for breakfast before. I asked if they had menudo. They said yes. We ordered and quickly had our meals. The servings were appealing and plentiful. I tried the menudo and it immediately reminded me of the menudo my father made. The chili in the broth was very tasty. My only ding is that there was not very much tripe in the serving. I have been to other places where the tripe is more plentiful. We ate our meals and I took the broth home to add more hominy. We both enjoyed our meals. The service was great and prices reasonable. Overall, good experience. More recently I stopped by for lunch. Again the service was good. However, lunch was not good at all. I ordered a tamale with rice and beans, with no cheese. The plate came back with cheese. They took my plate back, took a while, then brought my plate back with no cheese. Beans & rice were good, but the tamale was as tough as leather. I struggled to cut it with a knife, when I should be able to slice it with a fork. It stuck to the plate. Apparently it was microwaved too long or too many times. The tamale didn't taste anything like homemade. Mostly dry masa, with very little meat. I won't ever order that again. Hope my next experience is good again.
Food was good atmosphere was good but service delayed despite the friendliness.
Good service kept our drinks filled. Food came out quickly and served hot. Chicken a little on the dry side. Not super spicy but very tasty!
The food is usually pretty good. Last time we went we had to wait a bit to have our order taken and after we got our meal no one asked about refills. We go there often so we like it enough for that.
Good Mexican place . Ambiance is great . Service is great. Only thing is their drinks have less than normal alcohol . Both I and my gf got drinks and both of them had low alcohol . Just tasted like mocktails with just hint of alcohol. It would have better if they put normal amount . The food is good . Some dishes lots of cheese , which can be overwhelming except for enchiladas and quesadillas. Overall good .
Located in the heart of Manteca, Las Casuelas is known for their authentic food. Warm colors, traditional decorations and delicious aroma for you as you enter the restaurant. The menu is extensive and prepared using only fresh ingredients. They are known for their mole enchiladas, served in a spiced sauce, fluffy rice and beans. Also, for the vegetable tostada with fresh, colorful veggies in every bite. It's not a great date spot, but it is a great place to grab authentic Mexican food.
Great place to get quality mexican food with plenty of options to choose from. We went on a Sunday night for dinner, and we were able to be seated very quickly for a party of 10. The location has plenty of parking and is conveniently located to other stores. The interior of the place was nicely lit with Christmas lights and decor. Given that we were a party of 10, they were very attentive to us as we had two servers helping us with our orders. However, when they were bringing out the food, they managed to forget to bring out a dish. I ordered the beef garlic bowl and to my surprise it was basically fajitas and rice in a bowl. Nothing garlic about the dish. It was really good and I recommend ordering this dish.
Pretty good Mexican food. Staffing looked a little light for Father's day lunch. We were set down and given drinks... We got our food before utensils and napkins were placed. Overall good experience. I would try again cool ambiance that reminded me of one of our favorite places in Tri Valley.
The drinks were amazing but the service at the beginning was bad. In a whole 32 minutes our food order was never asked. If it would've been packed perfectly understandable but tables that got there…
The service is great, the food is good. The ambiance is nice. I would recommend it!
Went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. All orders were correct but one dish wasn’t heated all the way through (the cheese inside the chili relleno was fridge cold) and tasted frozen. Service was very poor, our waters were never refilled and our server didn’t stop by to ask how our food was. It took over ten minutes to get the bill and a to go box after asking for both
I went to this restaurant to see a cherished coworker off, it was an impromptu affair. Well, this place isnt terrible. First of all, their margaritas and cocktails could be better. I had a pineapple express, it tasted like a multi-surface cleaner, but it acted quickly so there's that. There were large chunks of pineapple and only a few slivers of jalepeño, the flavors were not balanced well, which is a shame. Our first round of drinks got confused some of us received our drinks as ordered, but some of us got someone elses drink. This only happened to a few people out of our large group though. The customer service was great, the staff was patient and they quickly corrected mistakes and were proactive. With regards to the food, I didnt hear any complaints from the group, but personally I wasnt a fan. The taste was lacking and it kind of seemed like they compensated for this with large portions. I ordered nachos, there was melted cheese pooling at the bottom of the plate, but I wasnt happy about it. I didnt see anyone at the table clear their plate, perhaps thats because we were full of alcohol (the tequila gets high marks) or perhaps because the taste was underwhelming. Overall, i'd say it was an average experience, neither appaling, nor excellent. Perhaps they just had a bad night, who knows? As for atmosphere, the restaurant is nice and clean, and its somewhat charming, especially the entry way, but the decoration quickly fades away the further you go into the restaurant. We also sat in relative darkness for awhile before it occurred to us and the staff that the lights should be on. I dont mind that to extent, though. Overall, this is an alright place, worth a try, you might have different tastes and like it
It pains me to say so, but this used to be our go-to spot and now I don't honestly see us coming back. The food is great, if you have an order to pick up, by all means, you're good. The service has just fallen off big time. There are really a couple problems at work. The first is that they are understaffed, everyone is, I get that. Though if you don't have the staff to take care of a full restaurant of customers, you need to not fill the restaurant. The bigger problem is that the staff they have don't seem all that interested in their job. Of the three of us, two of our orders came in wrong. Now, this isn't me being overly picky, I ordered a burrito and got a quesadilla. That's not a small mistake. Once the food came we never saw anyone again. Drinks ran out, we actually had to wait fifteen minutes just to get the check so we could finally go. Disappointed isn't even going to adequately convey the experience. The heartbreaker is that the food is really good. I am a carnitas guy and theirs is always on point, really exceptional. Like I said though, it's not worth it anymore, so we may not be back, especially when there are plenty of other choices in town here.
I went tonight. I ordered the Guava mocktail and the Garlic Butter Chicken. The cocktail was delicious but the bean dip and chicken was not as favorable as I had hoped. When my meal was delivered I noticed I was missing the guacamole garnish mentioned as part of the entree. When I questioned my server I was told "You didn't ask for it. It is by request". She did bring my a side but I feel that this us a bit "bait and switch". I then suggested to the manager it would be better to offer it then just not to include something clearly stated as part of the meal.
Edited on 8/21/21 Went today and was disappointed for a couple of reasons. It was not the poor waitress that helped us fault but there seemed to be no true manager in charge. Our waitress was stressed because they just kept seating people and she and others couldn’t catch up. I know they are probably short staffed so slow the flow of people and give your staff - waiters / waitresses a just to catch up. The kitchen was slammed again probably short staffed so slow the flow. Also there was nobody busing so the wait staff has to do that also. The food was good but I would go to Ripon instead. Seemed to be better managed there.
I have been coming here for ages, as a Manteca local but it’s been about 5 years since I last went and it is so-so. I got the Garlic Bowel and my fiancé got a breakfast burrito and we got one little alcoholic drink. Everything was absolutely delicious and served fairly quick. No complaints there! However the meal costed $50 and I was there with a group only to find out the check couldn’t be split. Which for us was a disaster since we all wanted to pay for ourselves they then told us only 3 cards could be charged. It was a DISASTER but none the less so - so
Average mexican food to go for when you have little options and given it's in Manteca there aren't much food hot spots. Service however is fantastic, staff is very helpful and accommodating.
Good shrimp appetizer. Good atmosphere, very good service.Beef fajitas today was not the best. Beef was very hard and over cooked but overall this is a good restaurant that I would come again.

The food was greasy and disappointing Not sure how you can mess up a Taco Truck Burrito.. but they did. It has all kinds of ingredients you don't usually see, but taste bland and the exterior was as shiny as the interior, covered with grease. It came out to hot to touch, making believe it was placed in a warming device. Whack. Go somewhere more authentic.
It was ok. Definitely not mind blowing. Chips and salsa are decent but their “spicy” salsa had no kick to it. I ordered the 3 meat fajitas. Beef was ok. Chicken was dry and shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. After all the hype i was not that impressed.
Stopped by here on a Thursday evening for dinner. Parking lot was quite full but we were seating about 15 minutes after arrival so it wasn’t bad. Pros: food was tasty and good. Cons: overpriced, “Mexican pizza” is literally just a quesadilla & not worth the $14.50, service is extremely slow! Once our “Mexican pizza” appetizer arrived- no one came by to give us plates or utensils. About 15 mins later the waiter came by & we asked for utensils, napkins, & drink refill. The appetizer was cold by then as expected. Dinner entrees we’re tasty but the whole experience of not having any utensils or napkins or anyone checking to see if we needed anything pretty much ruined the mood of dinner. Restaurant was quite packed and no one inside seemed worried about social distancing or wearing masks. Likely wouldn’t go back in near future.
The place itself seemed cool with booth and bar seating. They serve you chips, beans and salsa while you wait which was really nice. However I was really disappointed with taste of my torta and fries. The meat needed more seasoning or something tasted very plain with way too much mayo. The fries were not fresh tasting. They tasted more mushy then crispy. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed. We waited quite a bit just to receive our drinks from the bar.

Unfortunately another's once an exciting establishment to eat, this place had lost its vibe, and the purpose it kept afloat!! Use to be great service, good hot fresh food but boy all that went out the window!!.we had gone recently and we had a disappointing experience..our service was sad the experience, expectations and food was poor!!..Cold and you can clearly see it was last night's left overs!!..Some of my rice was over re-heated that it felt like I was eating on pieces of rocks!! The enchiladas I ordered, the chicken couldn't be any drier ( over microwaved) my taco meat was cold as the lettuce and cheese.. Note: beware using your credit card as much as i didnt want to leave a tip I felt I should for atleast being able to have my water cold, I noted only a 5$ tip and I had received a invoice that I was charged 35% for tip!!! I tried to resort this matter but I was unsuccessful, just the run around..never again...
My partner and I were served flavorless pork verde in our burrito on our first visit and nasty carne asada that tasted like it was boiled on low heat with no seasoning in our quesadilla on our second visit. Had to return the inedible quesadilla due to the overpowering flavor of bland boiled beef. Their food would taste good if they knew how to cook their meat.
I wanted to give this place a 5 star cause it looked good when our food came out but our food came out cold. And my mother in law wasn’t eating meat for religious purposes and they still put meat in her plate even after she asked them not to. We probably won’t be coming back!
My family & I have been coming here since 2015. We’ve had birthday dinners and simple family dinners with anywhere from 5-9 people. We came here on Saturday 12/14 and the hostess greeted us with a very bitter attitude, saying she could sit all 8 of us. This is very weird to me, considering 9 of us have been seated before. Her nasty, unwelcoming attitude on top of that is the reason we’ll never be coming back.
Beautiful place, nice people, but the food was not good the wet burrito red sauce is just the chips n dip salsa. The pozole had no seasoning nor did the molcajete no flavor. The birria tacos were trash the pozole also had no flavor the best thing was the chips n dip.
We were a party of 9. Restaurant was virtually empty at 4pm. They sat us at a table with a blinding sun window so we asked for a shade to block the light. After asking several times we asked for the manager and he told us we refused to move so was our problem (we were never given that option) and he flipped us off when he walked away. Along with that the food was only mediocre
So sad, this was my favorite restaurant for years but over time it has lost its quality both in service and food. We ordered 5 plates and two of them were sent with expired/ fermented rice. It smelt disgusting like an old wet rag but worse, and the other plates smelt and tasted fine. Additionally before we smelt it, it had an awful rancid taste. They remade the plate and then sent it out without all the garnishes it was previously sent out with, and of course they charge for every garnish.. to add on to it, the two plates that were sent out with fermented rice were for a pregnant woman and child … definitely would never come back. Mind you we still paid full price for the plate. Manager was very nice, but I’d still never come back.
Went to this restaurant because Google said they were open until 10pm, but when we got there (well before closing), we were turned away at the door. They said they were "closing because they didn’t have nothing" — no explanation beyond that. It wasn’t just that they were closing early, but the way it was said came off as unwelcoming. A little courtesy goes a long way. Disappointed with the experience especially when we drove from Tracy to dine.
Use to be our go to place for mexican food since we moved to Manteca 3yrs ago. Just ordered Togo. Lrg order. Was a late order about 915 or so. I ordered chkn quesadilla supreme. First thing I noticed was missing the guacamole. For me was a huge deal . Can't eat it without. I called at 950 to tell them what happened and to see if I could go pick it up. They told me they were closed come back next day. Which is ridiculous since it was my dinner. And it was only 950. I asked to speak to manager and the guy hung up on me . Called back a different person answered same response they're closed and I can come get the guac next day. Sooo stupid. I said then I want a whole new meal He said then u have to bring back you order. I've never had such bad customer service. Not to mention the chkn quesadilla was disgusting. Wet boiled meat no flavor, soggy tortilla from the chkn being soo wet. If I could I'd give it a negative score for gross food missing food and terrible customer service. NEVER GOING TO EAT THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
My Chorizo and eggs came out Burnt then we ask for them to remake them and they serve it raw with Tomatoes in it. Server was good but food sucked.
I came here to celebrate my birthday. They got my order wrong twice!! I had to leave without eating. I did not trust they would get my order right the third time.
Ordered a burrito, and it was primarily beans + beef. I asked why my burrito didn’t have sour cream + guacamole + salsa and they proceeded to say we had to pay extra but I clearly DID pay for it. Asked to speak with the manager who did absolutely nothing to rectify it, not even a solution to provide even SOUR CREAM. He then proceeded to walk away as I was still talking - absolutely rude!
So I placed an in person order. And the lady Behind the counter, insists that the alterations to the order that I normally get while we are, there is something that it is impossible for them to do. In addition, after receiving the food and I get back home, I noticed that there are items missing from the order and that the order is partially wrong. I tried to call them to resolve the issue and I get put on hold and then the line disconnects. Afterwards, I tried calling them back and I’m not able to reach them prompting me to drive down to get it resolved. I finally get a hold of them while on the way back and then they tell me that I have to bring in the entire order to receive the missing items for my order To which For me to go back and pick up all of the food and come back is a 40 minute round-trip, to which they never specified that before they put me on hold and hung up on me
