Good Life Cafe & Bakery Mendocino Reviews
The GoodLife Cafe is well known as a local favorite to Mendocino and it definitely lives up to the title. My dad and I made the mistake of not eating anything till 1pm so we came here starving. We got the fried chicken wrap and the banana walnut pancakes(special menu) the portions are big and they have a huge drink menu aswell, on top of that, the staff who work at GoodLife are so kind and very helpful!
One of the famous breakfast spots in Mendocino is Goodlife Bakery. It’s really good but always has big lines, so be ready to wait. Seating is inside and out, but it still gets super busy. The food was very good. Mocha is a winner and the toddy is a must. Their bakery items are a must try tooo nd cowboy cookie is a winner, savory danish is good, chocolate almond bar is awesome, and chocolate mousse was ok. For food items, the burrito was tasty, stir fry veggies were good, pumpkin curry bowl was good, and the tostada is good. Def a must try for breakfast
One of the best places to eat in Mendocino, a great dining town. The extensive menu covers all bases, breakfast, sandwiches, salads, Mexican plates. Lots of choices in each category. Our table of six loved everything they ordered, including pumpkin soup, fish and chips, and Mexican tostadas and salads. Every dish was attractive and inviting. Better still, every ingredient was well prepared, right down to the guacamole and beans. Prices were more than competitive. This place was a real find, if its fair to call it such after hundreds have already posted a review here.
I could see moving to Mendocino to have this place in my town! Fabulous selection of pastries - I cannot confirm or deny that my wife and I got three each! 🤭 I suggested we could get different things and share but the idea of sharing was voted down. 🤨 There was lots of seating inside and outside. But the latte I had was heavenly, them smoothest I've ever had. I'm going to order some of the beans and I hope to replicate it on my own. Oh, and the staff was very friendly and patient (it took us forever to figure out what to order). I highly recommend this place. 👍
FWIW, the $22 3 egg omelet is not for those who aren't really hungry. 3 eggs will never wrap all the greens, mushrooms, etc. from the "Greens Omelet," much leave room for a half-meal sized side, and toast. Excellent eats, though. Great coffee too. Spicy Mexican Mocha was exceptional. This spot has a tight "indoor" area, a side deck with walls and a tent for 'outdoor' seating sporting gas heaters, and a backyard lawn area. Impressive planting IMHO, but we live in a colder agricultural zone. Wellworth stopping in, but for the larger sized humans, that one bathroom is seriously toght quarters. They also sport an honor system produce shack, and it all looked exceptional.
From the moment my wife and I walked on I knew it was going to be awesome. Everything is cooked homemade huge portions. Service is magically fast like a food genie within minutes what would take me at least an hour to make is lovingly placed before us. I would definitely want to eat here again. I also want to mention the artwork is captivating with bright psychedelic colors and intriguing imagery of people with dynamic lifelike expressions. It’s almost like they’re alive.
Wanna put a little joy in your day, go and have a taste of the Good Life Cafe in Mendocino. It's fun, friendly and delicious. There is joy in the bottom of a cup of "joe", the sweetness on your tongue of a fresh baaked pastry, and savory flavor in a breakfast of lunch entree. Everyone here seems to be smiling, its festive, like you walked in on some old friends. Choose from many of the varied meals or pastries, take sometime out of your local stroll or visit to town. Classic period building welcomes you to a cozy, atmosphere where the aroma smells of roasted beans, and warm pastry. It feels special because it is.
This cafe goes the extra mile. Judging by the spices at the bottom of my Chai Latte, it was made from scratch. Everything we ordered was delicious, and there was something on the menu for everyone. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. It was our first stop in Mendocino, and my first words after sitting down and seeing the menu was "I'm in love".
Great stop for breakfast! Service was great and they are dog friendly. We stopped here for breakfast as we were staying in the area and the food was yummy and hit the spot! I had the veggie quiche and my boyfriend had the French toast. Looking forward to coming back to try their bakery items the next time we are in the area.
This was my first time in Mendocino and my friend and I decided to stop here for a late lunch. The people who greeted us were super friendly and welcoming, and although it was busy, they seated us right away! We ordered lattes, a meal, and dessert to go. Everything was absolutely incredible!!! I had the buena vida bowl and it was fresh, tasty, and the portion was huge! Even though they were closing soon after we sat down, they didn’t rush us! I can’t wait to come back when I’m visiting Mendocino again in the future! :)
Thursday morning 9am and this cafe is busy! We waited about 10 min. for a table. It’s an open room setting and the tables are close together. The pastries look delicious! We shared a French toast with blueberries and strawberries combo with eggs and chicken apple sausage and a hot chocolate. Our son ordered the waffle with eggs and bacon and a coffee for himself and an apple juice for our grandson. $75 for breakfast, it’s not cheap but It’s a quaint breakfast place with fresh food. They offer to go meals and have a good selection of pastries, cinnamon rolls, muffins and beverages. Also a couple of coolers with cookie dough and other items. The cafe also has a section with gift items such as t-shirts, coffee, handbags, candles, etc. The location is in a nice small town. I took a relaxing walk around the block and into their market. Would be a special area to spend a anniversary or birthday.
We liked this place for a heavy breakfast/ brunch. I got the vegan avocado toast with a side of sauteed tofu. The avocado toast was fine - nothing special to write home about. The tofu was great, tasted very much like my home-baked tofu. My partner got the eggs benedict with sausage on the side, and said it was the best hollandaise sauce he'd ever had. I also had the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was nice.
Busy but cute. We stopped around 11am and it was already pretty busy and loud for lunchtime. I ordered a cappuccino that turned out much closer to a latte. Food was good. Service was great, very attentive and personable. They have a great selection of gifts and souvenirs. The bathroom is very small and not accessibility friendly.
Great selection of brunch items but stay away from the pastry case items. So-so coffee. Cafe offers great local ingredients which is always appreciated. 5-star service, thank you we had a good time overall. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing but Peach Ginger Gallette was a big no! $14 for underbaked tasteless pie crust. Big no! Danish tasted more like stodgy bread. Bagel was great..will order again! 🥳 Coffee was so-so. Walk 2 blocks down to The Waiting Room cafe for a proper coffee. May come back to try their specials next time. But overall cant recommend anything from the pastry case.
