Lovely cafe. It's small but well air conditioned and the drinks are great. It was a very hot day and we had a frappé and a cold chocolate drink. Just what the doctor ordered!

I had my first Iced Coffee in Merida at this wonderful coffee shop in the Parque de Santa Lucia area after searching for one while walking and shopping for souvenirs. I had the Vanilla Iced Cafe and it was que rico! The barista was friendly even though he didn’t speak English. He accepted my poor Spanish and served up the perfectly balanced iced coffee I was yearning for. Bengala is also a cool, laidback atmosphere for popping open your laptop to write or work, or planning your day with friends. Keeping it on my list of Merida favorites to revisit.

A People-First Coffee House I absolutely love this place. The staff are super friendly and the food is fantastic. All types of drinks are available and indoor/outdoor seating are options for whatever your needs. Whether you want to just relax and let your mind wander or work on your next digital venture, this coffee house has you covered, accommodating all variety of contexts and situations. To give you a sense of what this place is like (just one case example): When my iPhone's battery needed to be recharged (It was at 3% battery-life), I asked Jesus, the barista, if he had a cable I could use. Without delay he gave me his cable and plugged it into a wall. No complaints, shrugs, eye rolls, or any drama whatsoever. Now normally this wouldn't seem like such a big deal but you should know that of all the coffee houses I have visited in this city (20+, as of this writing), not a single one has ever had a cable to help me recharge my batteries (I use this as a sort of test of customer service--I know, I'm terrible!). Only this coffee house was willing to assist! So this goes to show you what kind of an exceptional experience you can have here at a place like this. Let me tell you: "Above and beyond" is the byword here at Bengala! Highly HIGHLY recommended, especially for foreigners who speak English but want to practice Spanish! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Delicious and cheap sandwiches, they only costs $55 pesos between 6PM and 10PM. I furthermore ordered coffee with coconut milk. Not on the menu, but I recommend you to try! Cosy small place and friendly staff.

El lugar es muy pequeño, ya que es como una extensión del mismo hotel que tienen a su izquierda. Esta limpio, fresco y el ambiente es agradable y tranquilo. Uno puede leer con tranquilidad alguno d eso libros que ofrecen o realizar alguna actividad en tu laptop, celular o platica con algún acompañante. La comida es deliciosa y mucho más las bebidas. La atención pues depende mucho del barista qué te atiende y también al hora a veces se portan respetuosos y agradables y en otras muy irritable o molestos. Pero entre su mal y buen genio te atienden lo mejor posible.

En eso del café, el gusto se rompe en generos y en lo personal si prefiero un grano menos tostado pero está sabrosón igual me faltó probar en V60 o un macchiato, su pan estuvo rico y que lo tengan bien climatizado permite disfrutar el café sin estar sudando. El personal atento y rápido. En cuanto a costos, La quincena Godínez no se ve afectada x pasar 1 o 2 veces x semana por un cafecito.

Nos encanto nuestro pedido. Pedimos un chocolate caliente y un café tipo capuchino con dulce de leche. También pedimos un rol de canela que tenia pasas. Es un lugar perfecto para un cita casual o para despejarte un rato ya que cuenta con internet y aire acondicionado y buen ambiente pero el menú no tiene algo excepcional

Buena variedad, buen precio, buen servicio y un lugar céntrico. Para tomar el café y platicar es muy bueno pero las instalaciones son compartidas con un hotel por lo que te toparas con más gente de lo esperado, el café americano expresso le faltó un poco más de sabor, esto si lo tomas muy cargado. Si llevas auto ten en cuenta que no cuentan con un lugar para estacionar, pero en frente a unos 10-5 metros hay un estacionamiento público que cobra 18 pesos por hora.

Ubicación muy céntrica, ambiente chico pero bonito. El pan de nutella y almendras está delicioso. Música agradable. Lástima el chico en la caja no sonría mucho.

El café el día que fui no fue el mejor , solo tenían expreso y ningún método aparte de extracción, pedí un latte doble sin embargo se sentía más el expreso y la espuma que la leche , también pedí un latte frío y solo sabía a una sola carga de expresso, normalmente de cajón le ponen dos . El lugar es pequeño comparte baño con el hotel y tienen juegos de mesa para pasar el rato, tal vez vuelva por los juegos pero no por el café.

I was there on a weekday morning and was surprised that not a lot of people come in. The inside is small with wifi and a few outlets. The service was good. My overall takeaway is that I wasn't impressed but it wasn't bad.

Ok coffee shop. Has a nice vibe going. Coffee ok, from Veracruz. Near plaza, so can wal around. They sell some pastries. You can sit inside and even do some laptop work.

This place is delicious. The pizzandwich is so yummy. The breading can come with or without herbs. It's flaky and thin so you don't get too full on bread. The sauce is flavorful with the perfect amount of red spread onto the bread. The ham and pepperoni is soft and moist enough to bite into without trying to gnaw at it like a dog biting a toy. The coffee I ordered was a dulce de leche caramel/carmelo hot coffee, it can be ordered cold as well. Presentation was appeasing to the eye and no extra sugar needed and usually I like my coffee sweet. There is Wi-Fi inside if needed. Light music plays in the back and there are some books you can read after you order and hang your bag on the little hooks provided next to your seat.

It is a small coffee shop with the standard brews and a quaint "local", and by that I mean Mexican, little soda called Velvet Soda. I can't speak about the coffee or the chocolate, since I haven't ordered any, but I can say the staff is friendly enough and they do have discounts for Mexican students. The only downside is the tables, which are few and of the high bench type. Not the ideal place to stay for long.

Me gustó el primer smoothie que probé, pero con los demás tragos no quede satisfecho. El pan también no es el mejor. Pero pues el servicio es bueno y se ve como un buen lugar para trabajar o simplemente pasar el rato frente a tu computadora.

The photos are misleading. There is no outdoor seating, just a few uncomfortable stools in a tiny, claustrophobic room. I can’t comment on the coffee because I had no reason to stay. I was hoping for a relaxing moment to drink a coffee.

If you are intending to order an Americano that is bold in strength and smooth, you won't get it here. The expresso used in the coffee is very weak and tastes on the acidic side. There were also many grounds in the bottom of my cup, which you'll see from the image. The service, on the other hand, is good. And the barista was very friendly. When I forget something upon leaving the cafe, he caught up with me on the street to give me the item I left behind. I'm very grateful for him and his kindness. We also enjoyed the little courtyard behind the cafe, which is open concept to the outdoors. The interior sitting area is quite dark and small. Perhaps if you order a specialty drink instead of just coffee, then you won't be as disappointed.

The americano I had was smooth and perfectly brewed. It would have been wonderful if it had been hot. I'm assuming the barista made it in a cold cup, as it was tepid within a couple of minutes. For some reason they don't stack cups on the coffee machine to warm. A shame.

Pedí un té frío y fue un fraude, súper claro, básicamente agua con hielo. Los empleados un poco amables. Lo único que salvó el lugar fue el Horchata Latte, ese estaba rico, aunque muy poca crema batida.

Pedimos pedimos un moka y un latte el moka estaba demasiado dulce y el latte era leche caliente que ni la calentaron mucho, no tenia sabor a café, no lo recomiendo.

The sandwich is awful and the chips served with it is salty, and bad. See pic Some places should simply sell what they are good at. I couldn't even finish my sandwich, dry. Tasteless and low quality. The coffee was one of the worse I had in Merida.

I asked what coffee they have... I've got a good impression as they told me that they serv 70% Veracruz with 30 % Oaxaca since I know my own coffee (I'm from Veracruz)... Unfortunately bad taste, too simple taste... Capuchino and Latte had exactly the same taste...!!??.. A good coffee is served hot, not low warmed... Sad! If you are used to drink good coffee don't visit this place but if you don't care, well try your luck but I'm pretty sure other places are waiting for you to give a good review... I slowly don't believe in reviews any more, not if I travel around the world and I have very high expectations 😔

Pasé dos veces y el barista parece que esta de malas. La primera vez me dijo de manera grosera que no tenía sándwiches, la segunda vez que apenas iba a comenzar a vender y que tendría que esperar. El lugar se ve sucio y descuidado, además la comida no tiene nada de especial. Si pueden acudir a otro lado harán bien, no se están perdiendo de nada realmente.

Ordené un chai latte frío y la chica le puso una cantidad excesiva de jarabe. Intenté tomarlo porque me daba mucha tristeza tirarlo a la basura pero no pude porque estaba demasiado concentrado. Además la chica decidió no darme ticket, el cual si requería y cuando se lo solicite se asustó porque creo que no sabía cómo sacarlo una vez cobrado. También fue muy incomodo el espacio ya que estaba lleno de compras de insumos regados. Quedé insatisfecha y con algo de coraje porque al final tuve que tirar la bebida que ya había pagado.

Still amazed by how unfriendly the staff here was. Never experience such an attitude in a simple coffee store. He behaved like he owns Starbucks - but it’s just a coffee store in Merida. And it’s not clean and pretty - decided last minute to get away from this place instead of sitting around and feeling not well. Definitely not to recommend. The coffee wasn’t good at all - Flat White was watery as hell and the price to value not good.
