Café Chuc - Tradición Yucateca Mérida Reviews
The place is beautiful, the service excellent and the food...to die for!! I was very impressed withthe presentation and the quantity was enough for two. We totally enjoyed it!
Clean and cute, the menu has a great mix of Yucateca and European options. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the prices are highly reasonable and the food is yummy!.
Newer building. Clean and bright. And though that seems less than traditional in this historic city, the food is true to the Yacatecan norms. It is delicious and the camareros are great. I will return.
Great Food, Great Prices, and Outstanding Service This restaurant is a fantastic find! The food is fresh, healthy, and full of flavor—perfect for any time of day, especially their amazing breakfasts. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Special thanks to Oswaldo, our server, who was incredibly kind and attentive. His excellent service made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
The menu had us salivating. The food itself was mostly good, but the chicharones in particular (served instead of chips with the guacamole) were so hard, like rocks, we had to spit them out or risk chipping our teeth. The 2nd tamal was great, juicy with great flavors.
Mukbil pollo is overpriced, and way overcooked; I could only eat half; the rest was hard as a rock. They throw in an ice cream but not enough to compensate.
Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience, the food took over 25 minutes during a very slow service period between 12pm-1pm. The omelette tasteless, not even salt. The pancakes out of flavor, the Longaniza de Valladolid was ok, they brought the entrees separate like 7 minutes apart. This restaurant needs to invest more on service and checking on guests how the service went and don’t be afraid to ask for feedback. Based on this visit we won’t be back
Maya Chuc did not meet my expectations. While the service was very good and the staff was attentive, the food itself was disappointing. The dishes lacked authentic flavor and felt more geared toward travelers who may not be familiar with traditional cuisine. If you are looking for truly authentic food, I would recommend other options such as La Libertad. Even restaurants like VIPS offer a better breakfast experience in terms of flavor and consistency. Unfortunately, based on the food quality, I would not consider Maya Chuc a good option. I live in Houston but born and raised in Mérida Yucatán.
Well, every time I asked the locals where to eat, this place was suggested. So I went, my gut feeling after viewing the menu was to get up and leave because I was not familiar with the dishes, however I decided to give it a try. I ordered Lomito Villadoli pork dish and a beer. It took about 50mins after placing the order. There were 3 waitresses and 4 occupied tables, I tried ordering some appetizers and additional beers , the waitress never approached the table, I got up approached her said she'd be right there never did. Finally food arrived, was not appealing. Had some pork meat which was dry, also had to get up to ask for my check
I visited this restaurant expecting nothing but a delicious and traditional dinner. This place was a total disappointment. First, I ordered a couple of margaritas which 20 minutes to get, the appetizer I ordered took 40 minutes to be served. The so called Cochinita Publix tasted NOTHING like Cochinita. Instead it tasted like plain fried pork. I addressed my concern to the restaurant Manager, and the only thing he wanted to do is give me a free dessert, which I immediately declined. The restaurant had a long waiting time for each table, and the restaurant Manager was found going through his phone🤳🏻 the whole time we waited over an hour for a crappy meal, and experience.
