Outstanding yuca restaurant with traditional pib cooking style (underground cooking), which provides a smoky and earthy layer of flavor to their dishes. The staff of pueblo pibil is so knowledgeable and explained every single dish I had a question about. Outside in the patio between 1 - 2 pm, you can see their pib style to cook the food. The sopa de lima was so delicious, along with the pumpkin seed cheesecake and the brebaje cocktail that came with a very interesting presentation

I've had the pleasure of dining at Pueblo Pibil five times, most recently with friends and family over the past few weeks. Each visit has been exceptional, solidifying its place as one of my favorite restaurants in the region. The food at Pueblo Pibil is a culinary journey through Yucatan's rich flavors. I've sampled a variety of dishes, from the classic Cochinita Pibil (slow-roasted pork) to the flavorful Venison with smoked meat, and the savory Longaniza (sausage). Every dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The drinks are equally impressive. Pueblo Pibil offers a refreshing selection of cold beers and creative cocktails, perfect for pairing with your meal. The ambiance at Pueblo Pibil is charming and inviting. Excellent food, way far away but worth a trip. I don’t know if this is the best cochinita I ever had but it was good. For me the pork salad pictured stole the show, it was incredible and reminded me a lot of Vietnamese salads. The drinks were outstanding easily some of the best cocktails to be had. Service also is impeccable and professional.

You can’t beat the culinary experience at Pueblo Pibil! Among the best food I’ve ever had, amazing staff, and the cochinita presentation when they take it out of the ground is incredible. Their cochinita is hands down the best pork I’ve ever had, literally melts in your mouth. 2nd time over been there and can’t imagine visiting Merida without driving out there!!!

I celebrated my 60t birthday here with 15 guests. We were all delighted with the entire experience...the history, the details of of the establishments, the cooking process, and lastly THE FOOD!! Everything was wonderful. Oh, and let me not forget the cocktails. The charcoal mezcal smoky drink was AMAZING! I recommend that you translate the menu prior to arriving if you do not speak spanish.

Absolutely delicious, wonderful service! Another stop on our two weeks Yucatán drive we will remember forever… chef Silvia was heartwarming! We were there on a Monday and had the privilege of experiencing the uncovering of frijol con puerco only made on Mondays…. Pretty awesome…. My husband had a drink called “BREBAJE DE LOS SEÑORES DE XIBALBÁ”and we are calling it an “experience” absolutely one of the best drinks ever!!!

Friday afternoon, off time and not sure if they were open. Regardless of some negative reviews we gave it a try and I’m glad we did. It’s a very pretty restaurant in a rather underwhelming small Mexican town. The service was super nice, cocktails very nice and the 4 course meal (2 app, 1 main, 1 dessert). Where beautiful, tasty and innovative, did not had their famous cochinita. Defiantly worth a drive from Merida, be careful , when we visited they closed at 6pm!

Wow, just wow. We made reservations for our lunch two weeks prior and made sure to make it a point to stop here during our trip. Our lunch took 3 1/2 hours and it was a culinary experience. Every single dish was delicious, surprising, and introduced new flavors. My Fiance ordered the 15 plate tasting menu and as part of the experience, they gave us a tour of the restaurant and told us about its history. It was a wonderful experience and we'll be back again!

An absolute delight. The location is a little out of the way but the food is done in the old way. Underground and over 14 hours. The building is immaculate and full of history and beauty. La comida está deliciosa, nos tocó ir a las 2pm y vimos como desenterraban la comida, y explican por qué se hace así y de dónde viene esa tradición. A veces tienen expo de artículos artesanales para apoyar el comercio local y de los artesanos yucatecos, cuando fui compré una hamaca. Solo que quito una estrella porque pasamos mucho calor en el lugar, a pesar de que estaban los aires acondicionados prendidos no se sentía nada fresco y teníamos una ventana al lado que aunque bajaron la persiana no cubría mucho el Sol. Todo lo demás perfecto, si regresaría aunque pediría otra mesa

El lugar está muy bonito, la comida deliciosa, el servicio está bien. La comida tarda en llegar, al parecer por lo elaborados que son los platillos, lo cual para nosotros no fue problema pero es algo que alguien mas puede considerar si lleva prisa. El único detalle es que les faltaban varias cosas del menú como lomitos, pavo, etc, solo por eso no es un 5 pero realmente la experiencia fue buena.

Un lugar muy bonito para visitar, la comida es muy rica, no obstante uno de los platillos estaba más salado de lo usual (tal vez solo fue esa ocasión). El ambiente es de lo mas relajado, la decoración y detalles del lugar hacen juego perfecto con la experiencia, puedes consumir tus alimentos en el área climatizada o en la otra parte del restaurante al aire libre, donde puedes lograr a ver la madera y lugar donde entierran la cochinita o platillos para su cocción. Muy muy buena atención y el agua de lima de lo más rico y refrescante. El único inconveniente es… que no cuentan con estacionamiento, tienes que estacionar en los lugares aledaños del lugar, por suerte el día que los visite, pude estacionar muy muy cerca; por lo demás muy recomendable 🤗 si estás cerca y no sabes dónde comer con una bonita y agradable experiencia , pueblo pibil puede ser una opción que puedes agregar a tu ruta

Mi segunda visita en 5 años a “Pueblo Pibil” excelente y tradicional restaurante yucateco hecho a leña y horno en tierra por su maravilloso fundador, don Silvio. Muy recomendable, los cocteles son excelentes, distintos y creativos.

Ayer visitamos Pueblo pibil, nos mostraron los hornos *pib* y su interesante explicación. Pavo lo sirven con caldo, con justa razón ya que el pavo estaba muy seco. Venado en pipian, la salsa rica y la carne estaba seca y poco dura. El postre con mermelada de jitomate, inovador, sabroso y llenador. Servicio excelente, bebidas ricas y refrescantes. Atmosfera de buen gusto, espacioso y agradable.

I liked it, but didn't love it. The place is fancy and a little tight, the location is good, the service is outstanding, the food is very good but a bit too expensive. You spend over $200 pesos (aprox $10 USD) per dish, not including beverages. Tixcocob is a pretty little town which you could enjoy visiting after eating. If you like fancy places, this is a good option for you.

Muy agradable el lugar, muy bonito. La comida, muy normal, a mi me la sirvieron fría, quiero pensar que fue error único. La hostes atenta, los meseros no tienen idea de servicio.. mi sincera opinión es que tienen mucho potencial, ojalá mejoren. lo mínimo que esperaba era una buena relación calidad precio. Y no es así. Tristemente no regresaría. Pero juzguen por ustedes mismos.

El restaurante tiene un concepto atractivo y un ambiente agradable, pero la experiencia de servicio fue decepcionante. La comida tardó en llegar y el chile habanero que acompañaba el mondongo a la andaluza se veía claramente cortado desde días anteriores, lo cual da una muy mala impresión sobre la frescura de los alimentos. Al momento de pagar, el servicio fue desorganizado. Pedí la cuenta, hubo demora, solicité la terminal para pagar con tarjeta y, después de que pasaran tres meseros sin traerla, me informaron que debía levantarme e ir al bar porque ahí estaba la única terminal. En un restaurante que proyecta cierto nivel, esto es inaceptable. Además, el uso de servilletas de papel no está acorde con el concepto ni con la experiencia que aparenta ofrecer el lugar. Son detalles básicos que marcan la diferencia. Hay potencial, pero necesitan mejorar seriamente la operación y el cuidado en los detalles.

I took my wife and kids, as well as my parents to this restaurant, only because I had seen them on Netflix's Taco Chronicles. I was anticipating excellence. I needless to say ordered the cochinita pibil as did both my parents. I couldn't tell you what my wife ordered, that's how uneventful it was. Our server gloated that la cochinita was cooked for 15 hours "en el estilo pib". For my taste, it was cooked about 3 hours too long. It was dry and no amount of juices could help it go down. There were small pieces of gelatinous deliciousness in the broth which was the only saving grace. We went on a Wednesday early afternoon and there must have been maybe two other tables. I share this piece of information only to give context to the fact that our servers moved slow as molasses! We ordered coffee hoping that it could make us feel better about the experience. El mesero must have gone to Costa Rica for the coffee, it took nearly 25 minutes to get our coffee and it was luke warm. Not a good way to start my gastronomical tour of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Una experiencia muy poco recomendada, decepcionante diría ya que viajas con expectativas. La comida deja mucho que desear platillos fríos, un poco salados, el tiempo de atención malísimo nos invitan al ritual para desenterrar el relleno negro y resulta que cuando lo sirven más frío que la cerveza ( caliente por cierto ). Lo único rescatable es la amabilidad eso sí Y el lugar es muy bonito. Lástima jamás regresaría y jamás lo recomendaría. Da tristeza pensar que esa mala experiencia se la lleven los turistas

Hicimos reservación con mucha anticipación. Pedimos pib, ya que según lo hacen de manera tradicional. La sopa de lima muy simple, la pedimos como entrada y el pib tardó casi cuarenta minutos para que lo sirvieran, cada que pasaba por nuestra mesa un mesero, le preguntábamos si ya estaba listo el platillo y siempre respondían que ya casi. Lo peor fue cuando lo llevaron a la mesa, estaba frío y la base estaba dura, realmente horrible y no fué nada barato. Llamamos al mesero y sólo dijo "se lo haré saber al gerente". Cero recomendable, no gasten su dinero ni su tiempo en este lugar, se van a decepcionar. Mala, muy mala experiencia.
