Voltacafé Mérida Reviews
I love the cappuccino and mocha. Among the best. First 10 times, had huevos benedictino. Addicted May 2025: The huevos benedictinos have descended to the lower regions. American hot dog chopped up instead of ham. Ugh. Waffle, not toasted English muffin; ugh. Strange orange sauce instead of hollandaise. They were good 2 years ago. Not now. 1/5 for them. This business has comletely forgotten how to make them Previous friendly staff were gone. Mocha cappuccino still very good.
Wonderful place to have breakfast. I love drinking my coffee here in Voltacafé. Bonus points: it´s air-conditioned and overall, just a pretty place. 5/5, good food and coffee, nice employees, pretty restaurant. Will be coming back!
Great place, nicely located and good coffee. Both inside and outside seating areas are great and spacious. I went for a cold brew coffee and it definitely was a great choice. The espresso was great in taste as well and the staff was helpful. As for the food, it was freshly prepared and really delicious. The only thing I did not like too much was the amount of chicken inside the soup. As for the pricing, it’s adequate for what you get, not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive place.
Delicious food and great service. They are operating three different restaurants and menus (Voltacafe, Tatemar and Apoala) from Voltacafe's location so the options are great. Just make sure to make a reservation ahead of time
The food is excellent with many options. We are brunch and loved it. The coffee is wonderful. We had the green chilaquiles and they were tasty. We also had the burrito and the Volta sandwich.

A little neighbourhood gem restaurant, coffee spot and gift shop. Really quite elegant to be in a relaxing off-the-street setting enjoying food and surroundings.
When a beautiful century old building contains a cafe, a great bookstore and a nice gift shop all in the same spot…and a quiet courtyard to contemplate life can be found adjacent to the cafe…well then life is perfect. Very clean washrooms, good food (limited for vegan or vegetarian but very tasty), good service and great coffee. We had breakfast but I suspect lunch or evening snack would be excellent too. Prices on the high side for the portion size/menu choices but venue made it worth it.

Good selection of lunch combos, FABULOUS fresh horchata, great desserts including tarts by Mano. Indoor and outdoor seating, unrushed service, and wonderful coffees.
We met with Friends for Breakfast, arriving and requesting a table for 6 went quickly. Good Portions, Good Flavor, Reasonable Prices. Good Disability Access.
I like the coffee, though I didn’t enjoy cause the music was too loud and too many lyrics. We asked the waitress to lower the volume and her response was that it is controlled from the main office. I ordered capuchino with almond milk and the almond milk was an extra charge. I didn’t expect that! 😔
The coffee was frankly terrible, particularly for a place that tries to sell the idea of a premium coffee experience. They offer many different options for coffee, but they are just not good. Over extracted, bitter, and slightly acidic. The food however isn't much better. The croque madam i had was a bit bland and the quality of the ingredients just felt poor. The bread however is quite good, if I had to return i would stick to a hot chocolate and a croissant, but i don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.
Mocha still excellent. Eggs Benedict awful. Thought to try again but now worse than ever. Hollandaise sauce missing..Asked for it. When it came, it was plain bad. They do not know how to make it.

This was a disappointing experience. The servers were overwhelmed, and it was displayed all over their faces and actions. The service was unfriendly, slow, and inattentive. The table next to us waited for more than 10 minutes to get a spoon for their coffee. We ended up giving them ours. I ordered a Bloody Mary for my birthday, and they said the law was that they couldn’t serve alcohol before 11 am, but they could serve me a mimosa (which has alcohol). Their rules made no sense, and they weren't friendly about it at all. It’s one thing if their rule is strictly 'no alcohol,' but if they’re willing to bend the rules for a mimosa, why couldn’t they bend the rules for one Bloody Mary on my birthday? The coffee that we ordered was good, but unless this place gets more servers that can do a better job of hiding their stress and frustration, we don’t see a need to come back here.
I felt traumatized because the breakfast that I had today was overpriced for what they offered, the croque madame was full of disappointment, I was expecting something better but it was literally just two slices of bread and one slice of turkey ham and one slice cheese, with a little bit of onion, tomato and two fried eggs, that’s it (Could make it better at home definitely). The bread wasn’t tasty, the one little slice of cheese of bad quality… honestly the dish was just poor in all its forms :( However, the chai latte was good and the customer service was good and swift. Conclusion: For me it doesn’t worth it. I will not come back again.
Last time I went to Merida this was one of the coffee places that I was most excited to visit, so I went there with a group of 4 people, eager to show them this apparently cool place. We went in t…
I came to the cafe for lunch. Not many people inside . I was greeted by a woman behind the bar area, she was very friendly. I was seated and given menus. I ordered chilaquiles which looked good but I didn’t like the meal. chicken was flavorless and cold. The sauce tasted like pasta sauce . I barely ate half. My waiter also wasn’t attentive. Never asked if I needed anything, if I wanted dessert or anything. Just poor service. Wasn’t worth the trip or money.
Calling before coming to specially ask if I can come inside with a dog of emotional support (with all necessary documents) . They tell us yes over the phone. While we arrive, they tell us we can only go outside with 35degrees... Absolutely inadmissible service, putting in doubt the fact we call them there. I absolutely recommend to not go to this terrible place!!!! Que nunca van aqui. Peor servicio posible, no quieren dejarte a dentro con perro de apoyo emocional cuando les ha llamado antes para asegurarte que lo hacian!!! Nunca van!!!!
