l'épi de blé Mexico Reviews
The bread is delicious. It's really worth it.
Delicious, fresh, with portions that are just right for the price and presentation. Whenever possible, grab at least a roll—what a difference it makes! I highly recommend it. The only downside is that they don't always have everything available, but it's always fresh that day.
Delicious and very reasonably priced. A great alternative to Caramel, La Balance, or La Pastelería Suiza if you can't make it to La Condesa. The owner's bakery, who is from Bordeaux, is highly recommended.
Very good quality bakery.
Delicious bread. The baguette is delicious.
Excellent French bread, comparable only to what you'd find in France or Canada. A hidden gem in Mexico City, its entire variety is a must-try and worth every penny.
I happened to be passing by and tried the bread. The chocolate croissant with almonds was delicious. I also tried the pan de muerto (Day of the Dead bread); I liked that it had an orange blossom flavor. The prices are reasonable; it's definitely worth it.
If I could, I'd give it 10 stars!!! The bread is delicious, top quality! I really like the croissant and the chocolate pain aux chocolat 🥰👌
All the bread I've tried here is delicious, my favorite is the chocolate croissant with almonds, although the service could be better.
I came across this excellent French artisan bakery thanks to an aunt. She always shares the pain au chocolat and the almond croissant with me. Honestly, I can't decide which is better. They're both incredibly delicious. I definitely consider it one of the best bakeries in the city now. A real gem 🤩
Very good and better than Maison Kayser; cheaper, fresh, and flavorful. My husband, who's also French, was passing by and bought something very early. The owner was very friendly; he even chatted with him. When we returned home, the bread was still crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pain au chocolat and the croissant aux amandes are a must. Thank you and good luck.
Without a doubt, the best French bread I've ever tasted! The croissants and chocolate bread are delicious, freshly baked, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Small but amazing French bakery. Excellent flavor and texture of the sweet bread! Their ciabattas are absolutely delicious, with a touch of olive oil!
We went because of the reviews and because we don't have many good bread options nearby, and honestly, we were a little disappointed. The bread wasn't fresh, and in my opinion, it had too much butter. Since it was very cold, it didn't taste very good (this depends on personal taste). It was like a cheap bread, and we honestly felt it wasn't really worth it. Maybe it's a good option when it's freshly baked, but it either loses its freshness very quickly or they don't bake it every day. If you're craving a regular loaf of bread, it's a decent option.
I tried three items: the almond croissant, the chocolate braid, and the almond chocolate croissant. I have to say they were okay, but they tasted like two-day-old bread. I don't know if it was just bad luck or if they were over-toasted. The almond flavor was there, but it wasn't anything particularly striking or noteworthy, and with the puff pastry being so hard, it felt more like a cookie than puff pastry.
