Food is great! Portion sizes are awesome. Definitely a must try if your in the area! Gratuity is included (16% for a party of 2 and parties 4 or more 18%) The restaurant is a bit pricey but I had no complaints. The chicken garnachas we're also good.

The food here is amazing. The steak is so flavorful and plentiful per order. The service is friendly and attentive. The only downside is that this restaurant is very popular and relatively small so seating is tight and there is often a wait. However it is worth the wait.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! We were amazed by the quality of the meats. Ordered "Churrasco" and "Arrachera" both very juice 👌 and grilled to perfection. Two sides came with the entrée, beans, queso fresco, guacamole, and a jalapeño with bacon and cheese. All delicious! We also ordered Agua de Avena con leche (oat with milk beverage), which is really good. 💯 % recommended! Come to this restaurant to try this and other dishes. We ordered some pork 🫔 tamales and they are huge! A lot of meat on them. I love the smiling faces of the waitress and manager. And let me give a kudos to the size of the restaurant. Accommodate people with plenty of room. We will be back for sure!! Note: This is a pricey restaurant but worth every dollar. 💕😍💕😍🥳🥳

The service was amazing—our server was pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and despite the restaurant being full, there was very little wait time. Authentic Guatemalan food for sure!

Im not sure if it is because the restaurant has new owners, but the quality is not the same anymore unfortunately. I purchased the long plantains and the 1st time they were burned. So i requested a new order and now they were extremely soft. The meat tasted raw and it was not well cooked. Plus they also charge for containers to go $1.00. Like who does that???

For 25 years have been returning to La Antigua Guatemala Restaurant located on Flagler Street in Miami. Their beef stew is INCREDIBLE. Savory broth, plentiful beef rib, squash, carrot, yuca, corn cob and a mix of married flavors that won’t disappoint. Their carne asada comes with delicious black bean, cream, farm fresh soft cheese and warm hand made tortillas. The chicken, fish and variety of home cooked dishes will take you to real home made experience. Authentic, fresh and generous portions!!!!

We are repeating customers at this location. Food has always been delicious. We recently visited this location and realized that it had gone under some renovation. It does look nicer than before. However, food is still delicious. Our waiter and rsst of staff was very tentative and friendly. I definitely recommend this location.

For pick-up orders, they force you to tip 18% that's just ridiculous. It wasn't like that before. Food is good. But place is outdated. They need to give it some touch up maintenance it's like they never give it good maintenance. The walls could use some paint and bar area update it a bit... SPECIALLY if they charge 18% for a pick up order.

Very nice small restaurant to go if you want to eat good! Atmosphere is great, love the decor inside, it makes you feel good. The service is great, their small churrasco is my absolute favorite, it comes with cream, beans, cheese, pico de gallo and tortillas, and the price is good ( I think $17 or $20) Their drinks are really good, the horchata is very well made same ad the frozen lemonade. I have been going to this place for years, and it my number one favorite if Im craving a good churrasco!!

The restaurant serves delicious Guatemalan food, I mean it’s to die for. I come here every-time I am in the area, and to be honest I make myself go to the area quite often to get their pupusas! I know in their kitchen they are cooking with passion because the food comes out hot and serve with amazing side dishes.

Stopped here for dinner as it was a short walk from our Airbnb. What a find! The food was delicious and plentiful. Try the fajitas - it's more like beef stir-fry but very tasty. Dinner for two with drinks was $50 - very good value. Recommended.

Authentic great food, quality meats, sides, and Central American cuisine at an awesome price range. The absolute best (addicting) real tortillas you will find in the area and exemplary service provided by my server Belen. She was very knowledgeable, attentive, and provided some amazing recommendations while always flashing a lovely smile and attitude. I will definitely be coming back!

Date of Visit: 1/8/2025 We've been coming to this place for years! It's always a must-stop place of ours every time we are in Miami. The food is always a hit. Service at times could be better but overall they're attentive. Recently have noticed an increase in food prices. The last time we were here we were automatically charged tip even though we were only a party of 3.

We visited La Antigua Guatemala restaurant, which we’ve been going to for many years. The food is exquisite and full of flavor. The service is excellent, but nothing compares to the attention from Doña Reina. Her warmth, kindness, and outstanding service always stand out—she’s always attentive. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Doña Reina, for such special attention!

My nationality is Guatemalan, I've wanted to come by here for quite some time as I had heard the food is amazing; well I finally did & it lived up to all my expectations. 1) upon arriving the parking was limited so we waited for a parking space, typical of MIA not a big surprise 2) we walked in & immediately was given a table 3) I knew what I wanted ( usually look at the menu before dropping in a restaurant) my husband and i ordered "especial de la casa" (house special) my son chicken & fries 4) our order came out approx 7-10 minutes after we placed it & it looked like a typical Guatemalan breakfast plate: eggs, cream, cheese, steak, plantains & refried beans our tortillas took longer to get to our table (I can eat without, my husband cannot. He became a bit frustrated as his food was getting cold while we waited) BUT as soon as those bad boys came out we both looked at each other and he shut his mouth, THEY ARE HOMEMADE & huge we got 2 per order I ate 1 which was more than enough. 5) SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST: the food brought me back to my childhood when my parents and I would visit Guatemala. The house special was savory the cream & beans were the best & with every bite i could envision myself sitting at the table in hotel Mari in huehue or sitting in my uncle's house in the city. It hit me then that it is no wonder that there are many nationalities that step into this resturant. I heard different Spanish like Cuban, Colombian, central American accents and English being spoken. It lived up to what i thought we walked out satisfied and our bellies full. This place is a MUST in Miami. 💙

I had an nice experience at Antigua restaurant! The carne asada was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and it paired so well with the gallo pinto and sweet maduros. Everything tasted well and authentic. To top it off, the coffee was absolutely delicious—rich and smooth, the perfect way to end the meal. The service was not to friendly just so far so good, and the atmosphere was warm Highly recommend if you’re looking for a true taste of centro American cuisine !

Have you ever had Guatemalan Tamales or Chilaquiles???? Wow!!!!! The tamales are similar to Salvadorian ones, wrapped in banana leafs and nice and moist. Antigua Guatemala Restaurant is a fun and delicious choice. Now here is the kicker.......the Chilaquiles were more like a Mexican style Dee Fried Chile Relleno. It was stuffed with fresh cheese, tomatoes and a tomato sauce, either corn chips or a corn tortilla that wrapped it all up and then in that famous egg batter. What a fun treat!!! I paired it with a fun beer from their country to keep it kosher 😉 I highly recommend this establishment for something new and exciting and very affordable. #miami #Guatemala #tamales

Delicious bold flavors. The restaurant was packed. Finding a parking spot will prove to be difficult. Getting seated is a little tricky but once you get a table prepare to titillate your taste buds. The server was very attentive. The garnachas are very yummy and a great starter. They do have a small coffee and dessert section you can also seat at and let the sugar rush begin.

I was expecting a real Guatemalan food but it get mix with some other seasoning, beans taste like canned beans so it don't filled my expectations i am Guatemalan so i know how everything should taste. But food was decent, service not that great. They don't have all the real Guatemalan foods. Overall i think 🤔 3 stars.

Food was great, it was the first time I tried Guatemalan 's food. The flavors and quality of each platter was fantastic. Service was ok. Waitresses were very friendly and kind, but they were rushing all over the place because the restaurant was very crowded. The atmosphere was acceptable in general terms. Music a bit to loud. It is an informal restaurant, where locals frequent, because of the good traditional food. There is room for some improvements, but for it's really good.

Great selection of Guatemalan food, this place its been at the same location for over 15 years, their staff is always friendly and helpful. You can try here many of the Guatemalan “Antojitos” like Tamales, Rellenitos, Pupusas, Enchiladas, Tacos, Caldo de Res, etc. Their menu is extensive, I have try many of their dishes and they are all tasty and delicious. You can pair your food with some of their “refrescos” like Jamaica, Orchata or a cold beer. Plenty of parking is available and if you visit the weekends expect to wait for a table since they get busy. You can order ahead of time, their Manager Omar has been taking excellent care of my orders all these years and every time I call he greets me by name! I strongly recommend this place. IG @ISAACPAIZ

So after seeing a fellow foodie friend mention their Rellenitos and seeing the pictures of them, I decided to try Antigua Guatemala. I mean, I love black beans and sweet plantains so together they must be perfect right? Well, after some "field research" I can confirm that they are! Even though my initial impression of them as a dessert was technically incorrect (they're actually an appetizer) I would say they can be eaten for either course. I mean, how else would you enjoy a "pastry" of the aforementioned sweet plantains and savory black beans? As far as the rest of my meal, I enjoyed another side of their black bean soup, more than a couple very large and perfectly crispy tostones (fried green plantains) and a large juicy slab of carne asada. It had a nice smokey flavor, though it was a little thicker than Argentinian churrasco. Of course, I had flan. (I wanted to try their pio quinto dessert, but they had run out. My waitress was really attentive and accurately recommended the flan as a tasty alternate.) With its hints of baked in sugar, it brought happiness to my taste buds. Of course I washed it down with a nicely potent cortadito...two, in fact! Located on Flagler Street, they have a private parking lot and both inside and outside dining. As mentioned with my flan, their staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable.

I will start with how most people start reviews here. I have been coming here since i was a little kid! Since i was 10 to be exact. My last order was a pick up order since the covid situation is out of control. My favorite plate is the churrasco as it comes. The beef is always amazing quality so is the mantequilla (crema). The beans sometimes are good sometimes are good but not that good for some reason. Prices have gone up in the past years :( . Besides that, the restaurant is always super clean, service is good and again the food is good. I recommend antigua FOR SURE.

L
Leidy Luna

When I’m craving a taste of Guatemala this is the place for my favorite antojitos!

B
Birunnn F

I been eating here since I was a kid, the huge price increases throughout the years are semi justified, but the restaurant lost all its charm, it used to be vintage and nice looking and now it’s tacky and white and the colors are completely dull, the food and service are the only things carrying the restaurant, because now it’s dull to eat in there and super expensive, pls bring back the nice yellow lights and maybe add more paintings or just any decoration. The food is delicious tho for anyone wondering and if you only care for a delicious meal, then you can be safe coming here as long as you don’t mind the prices

G

First time trying Guatemalan Food, we were a big group, everybody like it, everything was delicious. My favorite was Tamal de puerco. Steak was tender. Service was a little bit messy but very friendly. Tables are too close to each other. Bathroom need renovation. The music was on and off, I prefer not loud music. Tip is included in the check. Valet parking $6

I brought my family here after a long day touring Biscayne. While not my first time here, I will say that the experience and quality of the food has definitely dwindled a lot. Our food was mediocre at best but the worst part was how our meat arrived, smelly and off putting. I will say though that the quality of the service was good and they were considerate enough to not charge us for the two meat dishes but we were definitely in for a surprise when we saw the gratuity fee. Wish they would have let us know before hand. Will I visit again? Who knows, definitely not the same as before but will say it has gotten busier.

ORDERED for pick-up last night and new girl that was there charged me a gratuity charge on my pick up order. I’ve been coming here for years and the gentleman that’s always there don’t charge me that for pick up. I told her something regarding that and she wants to respond like they always do that . She said if the order is more than 40$ they add that. I wasn’t happy because I’m picking up how you gone add what you want , don’t get me wrong food is amazing but horrible that she could get away with this . I should have just left my order there and walked away since she didn’t tell me that over the phone when I asked her the total. I guess they take advantage of the ordinary ppl. Shame on this place for letting her do that. And on top of that I get home and part my order is wrong !!! Disgusting

I used to come very often and never had any issues. It had been a long time so decided to come for lunch today. while food was good the waitress was not. She missed informed us twice. There was a $10 special for certain foods which I ordered from, after order was placed she returned after a long while later she came back to say the day specials didn't start until January 1st and had to pay full price which I agreed to. The 2nd issue was the soups of the day, she said beef and fish soup with no further explanation, never mentioned the different sizes. We chose the fish soup thinking it was regular sized. After a while she came back with a large seafood soup . We told her that was not the fish soup we ordered as my wife is alergic to shellfish. She stated that she didn't say fish soup which is incorrect because otherwise, we would not have ordered it. With an attitude she took the soup back and asked if we wanted the beef instead. We said no soup. The waitress kept coming around while we were eating trying to justify herself. She even commented that this time the manager wouldn't charge her for the seafood soup but they would charge her for it if it happened again. We were the rude and nicely told that she did say fish, she insisted she didn't. Both my wife and I heard fish. Every time she passed by our table she'd give us side glances with attitude. VERY unprofessional. The food was great but lousy unprofessional service .

Let me start by saying that when I review a restaurant my main focus is the food, then the service and last the building/location. With that said , the food did not meet my expectations. I was looking for authentic Guatemalan food, but was quite disappointed. There was only one dish we try that was to par and that was Carne Adobada(Marinated meat) with freshly made tortillas. Another item that was good was the Horchata. It was refreshing and had a good size. We came hungry and since we live far away, we took advantage of the moment and try several dishes, we even order some to take home because we wouldn’t had time to eat it all at the restaurant. We ordered so many things that it would take me a while to describe what I didn’t like about the remaining of the dishes. Instead I would like to mention the one item in the menu that is a staple in Guatemala and that is the Tamal. A corn dough which has in the center either pork or chicken topped with a delicious sauce. Well the sauce and the traditional flavor was missing in the one dish I came to the restaurant for. I was so disappointed, and sadly was my main entree so needless to say I left the restaurant hungry. As you can already guess, the food I took home wasn’t any better and was discarded. What was a lot better was the service. The lady who took care of us was super nice and was the one who suggested almost all the dishes I took home. However the place was almost closing and she would take time away from our table to finish with the other tables. This cause us to request the assistance of another server to help us obtain the check and the food we had ordered to take home. Thus the reason for a 3 stars for the service. Now to the last part of my review, which is the location/building. The restaurant is located right on the main street so must be careful with traffic when entering the parking. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had plenty of tables to serve large parties, but didn’t like the atmosphere. Therefore base on my experience I will not be returning and would definitely not recommend.

The first time we ate at this place was more than 10 years ago. Indeed the quality of food is up until now quite good. However, their prices and the quantity has dramatically changed. Their prices are going up but quantity is being reduced by much! They used to give much but now they are giving less than before and charging more. My family buy here now as almost like a luxury because this restaurant has changed way too much.

C
Cindy Verdugo

My family and I went this past weekend to this restaurant and we truly did not like the food at all . It was nothing to real authentic Guatemalan food at all . The atmosphere was too loud and the music playing inside was too loud . At one point it felt like they turned it up louder ! Ridiculous! Also the server only once came to check on our group after that she did not even check on us or ask about our experience! The gratuity (Tip) was almost to 65$ and we were absolutely not pleased with that because our server came one to check on us ! Definitely not worth it ! Go somewhere else for Guatemalan food. The bathrooms were so dirty ! Not happy at all for the price we paid of $435! Absolutely not worth it !

Placed an order over the phone for tamales, when I got home I realized the bag smelled a little strong, and like vinegar. I didn’t think much of it…but when I opened up a tamales to heat up, this is what 4 of the tamales looked like. Haven’t been back since

R

We arrived at 9:58 , we entered where a guy guided us inside. He instructed us to go to the front to be seated. They tell us to leave , because they are “closed” . It says here they close at 11. We drove 20 minutes thinking they were open since it’s what it says here. All the workers looked at us with mean looks and were very unprofessional in the way they spoke & told us to leave.

Food could not be worse. We ordered fried whole fish. Kid's steak (was supposed to be well done and was rare) Steak (was supposed to be medium rare , was well done) This steak had NO SEASONING AT ALL NOT EVEN SALT Chicken Fajitas were SOOOOO SALTY they must have put the steak's salt on the Fajitas. The tostones.... no salt, not the right texture. Lemonade..... $5.50 for 6 oz of lemon, water, and sugar with no refills!!! I thought for sure they must've put gold in there! I asked for ice twice before she remembered. The server had an attitude, and this meal was over $100.

I eat out daily for the past several years and find places that execute well on service and product. I've been coming to Antigua Guatemala for some time now because the food is ok and relative close by on my way to work. I will take the time to inform the public of how disturbed and insulted I was by the server and manager. I always order the same house special that includes eggs, skirt steak, beans and cheese.I always ask to replace the blended beans with refried beans and the white cheese with Fried cheese and a frozen lemonade. 1st my frozen lemonade was brought watery and not frozen. I mentioned to the server that I had asked for a frozen lemonade he's response was you want more ice. I just repeated I frozen lemonade. Reluctant that I would get my lemonade watered down with additional ice, I reiterated a frozen lemonade. The server then brought me my food and as I was on the phone I started eating a took a piece of the edge of a piece of cheese on the plate I noticed they didn't bring me the fried cheese. I called over the server and I mentioned this, his response was that yes you are right but since I had taken a piece of the cheese the kitchen would not accept the replacement. At this point I felt shocked and insulted. But rather than continue working myself up I tried to let it go.but noticed that a discussion between two servers took place in front of me and the server that originally took my order agreed that I had order the fried cheese. I thought at this point the server that brought me the wrong order would do what was right but eventually he didn't. My biggest concern was that if given that I would have never taken a piece what would they have done with that cheese. So was inclined to ask and his response was throw it away. So why the big deal? I asked and he mentioned that the kitchen would not accept. At this point, I could not eat and asked for the bill. I left most of plate untouched. The server brought the bill with put an apology and without an attempt to to do the right thing. I spoke with the manager but the manager was worse that the server. He did not care to remedy the issue and charged me the full plate. I was robbed $17. I tried to make sure with the manager that there was no misunderstanding and that he was definetly goong to tale that stance. This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. My business philosophy although not shared with some, depicts a different scenario to have taken place, perhaps acknowledging the fault on the server, considering making the customer happy and taking care of the issue right away. But this was a disastrous and disappointing lack of professionalism on behalf of Antigua Guatemala administration. **7 years later I thought id give them another try, dispointed. Will start with the check. Takeout after $50 tab,10%gratuity required. Even will getting the order wrong.Yes they got the order wrong. This company policy is not comunicated prior or after order. You just need to review the receipt to know what transpired. Their famous fried cheese is extinct. No longer an item of theirs that was signature to this establishment. As far as remedial attempt, management falls short of resolutions. Still a 1 star. I gave 3 on the food becuase their flank steak is still enjoyable.

First time ever that I have been asked to pay for an American coffee refill. This is America we don't pay for coffee refills, back to Dennys.

We have loved this restaurant and have been there multiple times before. However, the food was totally different when we went tonight. The portions are much smaller than they used to be and the prices have gone up. It’s usually super packed on Saturdays and you can’t even find parking- wasn’t the case tonight, so maybe other people have the same opinions. I no longer recommend this restaurant.

The taste of the food isn't the same anymore; they lost their touch back in the early 2000s; it was better than now.

If you want to sit down have some great food while listening to horrible music that are consistently repeating explicitives this is your spot . Terrible atmosphere music is obnoxiously loud and quiet explicit. Call me a Karen IDC this is absolutely ridiculous if I was with children I would have got up and left it was that bad. Not the only time this has happened here. It's like they have no control over it.

This place used to be one of my favorites for me and family, but not anymore. They’ve raised the prices and lowered the amount and quality of their food. It also used to be packed before, but not anymore, and no wonder why. Not coming back again!

I've been coming to this place for years. Unfortunately the place ain't the same. Owner decided to update the inside and pass down the cost to the customers. Last time I was here one single pupusa was $3.50 as of today 2/4/26, they are now $6. That's double the price. A churrasco ( grande ) was 27.99. now it's $39.99. it explains why it's empty, this place used to be packed. Unfortunately today was my last day visiting this iconic place. You are better off going to Brazilian Rodizio. This place won't last open much longer with those prices.

One of my favorite place since I was little. Unfortunately this place hasn’t gotten to pricey it so said to say the usual steak we always get got raised about $13 more. I love Omar and the staff are super nice but the owner just love to raise the prices often.

I passed by to this place on the weekdays and the first thing when I walked in, the atmosphere was loud and very humid would not recommend for a refreshing place, The service was absolutely terrible the person that was helping us with our table looked like she didn't wanna work and she barely came to check on our table, the food was also Mid and that's being generous, a piece of chicken was purple and very greasy something I wouldn't recommend and there was also a point where the music got so loud I couldn't even hear myself, and the gratuity was almost 62 and the waitress still wanted the rest of our change which was not very and I also spent over 400 so overall if you want a authentic Guatemalan place find somewhere else and not here.

This place was just absolutely the worst no words to express because that’s how bad it was… the waitress do not know what customers service is at ALL, they don’t come by to check up on you, the smell when you first walk in is not it. The bathrooms are gross.
