This place is so cute and the food is DELICIOUS. I ordered 1 of each Croqueta and they were incredible. Such unique recipes for croquetas. Buffalo cauliflower was my favorite but they were all really good. The Cuban bowls are also delicious. The FLAVOR!! It’s like eating at your moms house. The line was long but the people that work there are so nice and accommodating. Offered us coffee and were really sweet. I will definitely be back!!

From the moment I walked up to the counter to order, the amazing service and vibrant decor transported me straight to original Islas Canarias restaurant. The menu has a fantastic variety of traditional dishes. But I continue to go back for the croquetas, trust me when I tell you they are delicious. We also tried the Chicken Vaca Frita bowl, and it was incredibly flavorful—tender chicken with a rich sauce that was just the right balance of spices. The black beans and sweet plantains make it the perfect meal. The staff is always very attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. Overall, Islas Canarias Cuban Express at Dadeland mall exceeded my expectations and is a gem in the mall. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes! Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I have to give it to Islas. I have had ham and cheese empanadas from many bakeries and restaurants, but I don't know what they do to theirs that makes them SO GOOOD, they are filled to the brim with the creamy ham and cheese blend and cooked to perfection. Their croqueta preparada is also to die for! The owner is amazing, connects with his customers, and gets to know them to create that friendly environment you would get from your typical mom-and-pop cafe.

Don't let the bad comment get to y'all take it from someone who love the mall who everyday at the malls. With a background culinary this is thy only place you should be eating your arroz con frijoles! It taste like if abulita made it. The meat won't disappoint I always tend to get lechon and the flavor it has incredible. Only thing the skin of chicarones is soft but hey it's still amazing. There no combos giving you a head up. Plus they have croquetta and all there amazing menu items from the regular stores. Thank you team

The team at Islas Canarias Cuban Express is always ready to come through with delicious food. A client who lived out of state asked me if I could send some Cuban pastries and desserts to their boss during a tough time. I called Express, they jumped in right away to get the order together so I could run in and out to get it delivered on my client's behalf right away.

Good cuban food for being in the mall and kind of fast food.

I tried a Cubano Sandwich in Versailles after watching the movie 'Chef' (2014). This one was WAY BETTER and in a mall food court. Totally recommend it.

Disappointed with the quality of the croquetas at this specific location. I have always loved and thought Islas Canarias had the best croquetas in Miami but this location is lacking some attention. The grease they used was old; instead of them being a nice golden brown crisp, they were very dark brown. They all varied in size, and some were lacking filling.

I thought mobile order would be fast. It took an hour to get the food. Countless people were served first. They gave me a melted shake and cold food. I just threw it away and went elsewhere.

They emphasize their gluten free options but don’t have a dedicated fryer thus no gluten free options. I was very disappointed to hear this as they can’t prepare food for celiacs

I’ve been coming to Islas Canarias my entire life, and what’s happening here now is unacceptable. On two different visits, the cashier’s attitude was openly rude when I simply asked about the menu, and the croquetas were served frozen in the center. That’s not a small mistake — it’s a sign that basic standards have collapsed. This place used to represent consistency and pride. What I experienced feels like the opposite. The name and legacy deserve far better than the careless service and poor quality being served today.
