The drinks were on point. The service was spectacular. I will keep coming here as long as she’s here she treated me like family. I love it. Nice place, spacious, food delicious and customer service excellent. It is safe. We went to Decemer Bueno and Omi Hernández concert we got a vip table 50 per person which it is fair for the artist we went to see. The drinks well prepared. We had a great time definitely recommended.

The food is absolutely incredible and the atmosphere makes any Latino feel right at home, would definitely come again! I had so much fun, I forgot to take pictures of the items I ordered. However, I definitely recommend getting the mariquitas which are plantain chips that come with cilantro sauce. The croquetas are LARGE and taste incredibly good, they also come with the cilantro sauce. Another food item was the loaded tostones with churrasco and an avocado sauce that created the perfect blend of hearty and fresh. Come here for good Cuban food and a nice time with the family.

Great time celebrating my sisters birthday. While the service is a bit slow, you cannot fault them. They are maneuvering around dancing and singing. The tapas, food and drinks were good, but the music, the band, that was great! We had a great time!

I did there and also I take out a delicious chicken salad. It was my first time visiting the place. I went to see and enjoy a very popular artist. Honestly at first I felt a little shy, but later I received a great customer service and I enjoyed pretty much the place and also the artist that there was.

I read a couple of reviews before visiting this place and decided to give it a try. My experience was nothing else than amazing. The place is super cute, big enough, the food and drinks are great. The service was on point! We were a party of four and just showed at 11pm with no reservation and got a table in less than a minute. The waitresses were all really friendly, thumbs up for Kimberly. The ambiance is really good, music was the best. I will definitely come back!

Went on sunday 11/27 with friends for dinner. The service was great!!!! The food and drinks were pretty good !place was spacious and clean!!! 2 issues only: Menu had a charcatourie board said it had fruits meats chesses. 40.00 it had no fruits or olives and it was very lacking in different meats came with peanuts!!!. 2nd issue when you order dinner they dont bring you water you have to buy bottled water this was an issue with one of my friends who felt water should be available!!! Other then that this is a nice place to go!!!!

The Kendall location is just 2 days of being open. Grand opening TBD. Servers all friendly. Food and Drinks were good. Had nice conversations with employees including owners. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the future. Wishing them the best in this new location. Making Kendall great again!!

I'm writing this review as I'm seating at the bar just so that I don't forget what's going on around me.... This place had it's grand opening last night.. but it is in reality running on training wheels ! Three stars just because it's new. There is only one bartender for the whole place... which is not even full... maybe 25 people... that didn't come all at once and they are running around like a chicken without a head. There is a lot of bickering between the work staff and I can imagine that this is only the start. It's only 6 PM. And I don't know whether to order another drink or just jump over and help..... I will give it another try sometime soon and re-write my review accordingly. So far... it is very disappointing and actually embarrassing.

The food delicious but the service could be better. Waitress was more interested in playing in the kitchen as we watched thru the window while our order was taken incorrectly and proper utensil were not given.

We came for lunch at 12pm on a Friday. The place looks great and very Instagram able. The food was really good, but nothing over the moon and the new combinations are cool. We just sat down because no one was there to greet us and tell us what's going on. The wait staff are nice, but the service takes too long considering there are not that many tables filled as waitresses working. We waited almost 40 minutes to have the waitress charge our bill. This place will go under unless they work on their customer service.

F
Francisco Gonzalez

The tapas are good, the ambiance to go for lunch is meh, though I understand that the place rocks at night, so I will have to go and verify. The service is not bad, although our server didn't speak English. The Spanish only server was not an issue for us but that is one of my pet peeves. While I believe that everyone has a right to work it is my opinion that if you are going to deal with the public you must speak English.

M
Michael Fernandez

The setup, decort, and vibe are great. The food is also filled with flavor and energetically different. The service is below average. I arrived letting them know I was a party of ten. Half the restaurant was empty. It took them 10 minutes to move the first chair to get our table setup. This was not a busy night. You could count on every request taking at least 10 - 15 minutes to be acknowledged after that. I am currently observing the staff stand by the bar hanging out and talking. I've been waiting for my last drink request for a few minutes now. Food took around 45 minutes to come out upon ordering. First wave brought half the table. Waited around 5 more minutes for the rest of the group's food to come out. This would be trivial if we hadn't waited 45 minutes. My mother complained about the quality of the food and the waitress ignored her. We had to ask her if she was paying attention and she responded with a yes and then walked away. That was the final straw for me. The staff here is not organized. They do not act with urgency. This WOULD BE a great spot to come hang out with friends, if they started taking their quality of service serious. I will not spend another dollar here ever again.

Most times it’s a fantastic place this time around they had a magician and a live band that simply was not very good. Unfortunately we chose a bad night to go there. When they have a dj and play good music the atmosphere is better and more enjoyable. Also they charge a service charge so check your receipt, not cool.

J

On my "to visit" list for a while. From outside it doesn't look too promising, once inside the situation changed. Spacious, nice looking interior with an stage at the back for some live music. I ordered a grilled Red Snapper fillet with Moro rice, bad choice from my side, and "Tosotones". Fish was a bit salty and and the rice was just fine. My wife had day platter and she was OK with it. So, if you like Cuban cuisine this maybe a good choice for you. We won't move it to our "Favorites " list

R
Roberto Juaristi Serrano

The food was great I really loved the paella. Everything was good until they try to scam you in the receipt, check your receipt because they add a service charge and says that the tip is not included and at the time that I ask to the waitress they says that the service charge is the tips, really disconcerting and you feel like scammed..

I really wanted to love this place. Experience started off wrong, but we still gave it a chance. The place is cute enough to take some pictures and say you’ve “been there, done that,” but would I do so again? Probably not! Attempted to make a Saturday evening reservation around 4 days before, and they claimed they were “all booked up.” So we went elsewhere for tapas and dinner, and I forgave La Mesa because thanks to their turndown of our group, the food and ambiance at Bulla was simply delightful. We were there until around midnight, and then headed to La Mesa afterwards to go check it out. We got there At 12:30am, and the band was already picking up to leave. This doesn’t happen at Mojito’s by the way. While at the bar to grab a drink, the band with all their equipment kept bumping into us. What a welcome! The four ladies in our party ordered one of their signature drinks, the “Cojelo Suave,” and it was simply nasty. All four of us made a sour face with every sip we took! Advice, just don’t get that one! One of us even asked the bartender to rim her glass with sugar, and not even that helped the drink! The star anise in that drink just has to go! Ewww!! We tried taking pictures over by their signature neon signs, and the rude people dancing around them just kept pushing off of us, and barely let you take the photos. Moving on to the music, it was Saturday night, and supposedly Top 40 music night. The DJ who took over after the band played all this whack Reggeton , and I barely recognized any of them. Songs must have either been too new, or too “balsero” cause again, I didn’t recognize what the heck he was playing and hated the music most of the night.. The highlight might have been when he played “Low” (the Apple bottom Jeans) song. He needs to realize that gets people going on the dance floor, are the older hits that everyone recognizes. The next turnoff were the bitter Waiters and Waitresses the place had. The kept going back and forth from the kitchen to the main floor. I don’t know if they were going to the bathroom or what, cause no one was eating anymore when we go there. The thing is they kept ramming into us while we were on the dance floor! The dance floor was about a whole 6 feet between the stage and where the tables were for eating. And that space was slightly crowded with people dancing. The waiters/waitresses should have gone around the guests dancing. There were two things wrong with that. It killed your vibe when you were trying to get into the not-so-great music they were playing by bumping into you with their cranky faces and angry demeanors. I mean if you’re not happy to be there, don’t transmit that onto the guests! The other suggestions is to move the tables further back, away from the dance floor, once everyone is done eating to allow for more space and stop bumping into the guests!!! The band also needs to exit through the kitchen or something cause that was just annoying. And it wasn’t even that the place was that crowded cause there was plenty of empty space towards the entrance. I also couldn’t understand why they were unable to accommodate a table, cause they offered us one right away when we came in. We passed on that, just like they passed on us! Anyway, I was interested in checking out the food by trying it out for brunch, but given this experience, I think I’ll pass. The crowd varied between immature and really ancient. So the positive there is that there’s something for everyone.

If you're looking for quality Latin/Cuban food this isn't the place, keep driving. Service was slow and the place was half empty. Food took about 45 minutes and wasn't hot. My salmon was so dry I literally almost choked. The rest of the food in our party wasn't too far off.

Sunday brunch. The maduros wrapped in bacon were amazing BUT then my entre was 2 soggy waffles with the most deeped fried, DRY and thin piece of chicken on a dollar store plate. It didn't look appetizing. My friend got a Cuban Avocado Toast, it sounds fancy on the menu the description was appetizing...it was literally toasted smashed Cuban bread with onion and tomato with the tiniest amount of smeared avocado on it. Maybe dinner is different....

Recently our friends and I went to this Restaurant for lunch. It was Sunday at 1:30pm. The reviews online did not specify that it was a club. We were unpleasantly surprised .We couldn't even hear one another talk. We weren't expecting to be at a nightclub but like the manager said when I requested that he lowered the music...its a Dayclub and he would just crank it up at 2:30pm. Truthfully, I do not recommend this place. It was loud and the food and service was mediocre. And we had to pay a high service charge. Never again. And unless you want to have permanent hearing loss and dont know what good food tastes like...visit this place.

Great food great music and service, but they charge you early in the evening for you to have dinner and drinks and after 11pm they charge you again to see the Second show. Why are you charging me 2 times if I'm spending good money at your business already? I'm not coming back, very sorry because I really like the food and the service.

Want a great way to spend your new years? Pay 170 per couple to be sat down since 9:00 pm (im writing this at 10:54 waiting for my food) have 3-4 poor waitresses for 50+ people trying to calm down a bunch of upset hispanics who also paid $170 per couple and if you are the lucky few be sat down in the dance floor area and have a giant disco ball above you with a fog machine throwing smoke at you WHILE you are waiting for your food. Oh and because this place is supposedly a night club the music is ear piercingly loud. It is now 11:00 pm, i just finished this review and my food still isn’t here. My favorite part of this whole thing was the music stopping completely because of the dj messing up and someone yelling about the service. Lol i just wrote this and the food got here it only took 2 hours and 5 minutes. Now i’ll say this, to fix this terrible experience for when you undoubtedly do this again next year and someone unlucky enough to think they are going to enjoy New Year’s eat’s here try the following. Appetizers, less tables, lower music volume, no fog machine, and also try caring maybe. Now the food that eventually arrived. It’s not warm and the portions are crazy small, i don’t need an entire buffet but 85 a person for this is crazy.

Really overpriced for what it is, they told us we were missing $100 when the check was paid in full . The DJ Charly only plays cuban music literally no variation ( I’m cuban myself but it gets annoying after 10+ songs). For a $35 dollar plate the rack of lamb was extremely hard. I was expecting a softer meat. The drink I had “hialeah gardens “ tasted like fabuloso.& Their stella beer taste fake . Oh ! and you gotta pay to stay after 12 when there’s literally like 4 mfs left because everyone left already. I rather go to a place with more musical variety & less overpriced .

TL;DR Food is ok but very inconsistent and the service is some of the worst I've ever had in Miami and that's saying something if you know how bad the service is in Miami in general. Stunningly, amazingly, excruciatingly awful service. To call it slow and disorganized would be a disgrace to the words. Clearly no management structure in place or even a manager at all. Actually ordering was nearly impossible as our server seemed both overwhelmed (they were clearly understaffed of servers) or completely incompetent. Probably mostly undertrained by the missing manager. No water refills, only partial alcohol refills, and clearly no systems in place. There was someone who seemed to be in the busboy role but we had to stop him on his 10th trip by to point out that the table was covered in empty plates. Again, management. Now as the food started coming out, which by the way came out in a totally random manner and several orders were wrong, I figured maybe the food would be the redeeming quality. The dishes at our table got mixed reviews and a few were genuinely good. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles which the menu showed as having a slight siracha drizzle which sounded interesting. There was no drizzle, only a bit of maple syrup and the chicken was probably ok if it had been fresh but it felt it was a day old and the whole dish was cold. I was going to complain but the server? No where to be found for what seemed like an eternity until she came back to have the head of our party tell her that HALF the table was missing their food which by the way she was writing it down was clear she hadn't put it in in the first place. Then while I had stepped away from the table for a few minutes I came back and the most disgusting looking omelette was at my seat. Why was this here? No one, including the sever, could account for this. Maybe the food is good here or there but the service was so horrendous that I would never come back here.

today we was there in the taiger concert. The food was horrible. We order two ribeyes and one filet mignon and they arrives frizzing cold to our table, we complain about that they bring our plates inside the kitchen and two second after they bring our plates to our table. When you cut the fillet mignon or the ribeye inside they were cold, but we decided no opaline any more. We order fry calamari and they was horrible too. We paid $100 each people. We arrives at 7:30 and the "concert" started at 11:30. Before 1:00 am the concert was finished. So they charged you $ 100 for the concert, you order some horrible and cold food you pay for the food and they charge you with $ 40 service fee in addition to the horrible food. This doesn't work. On December 25, El Taiger give a concert in Brickell for $85 1st and second row....never more La mesa restaurant Miami... this was so much

This is simple !!!!!!!I I didn’t eat anything, just three whiskys on the rocks , I didn’t ask for double !!!!, the total was $71 and something plus tip $15, you would say !!, Why did you leave tip ?, I was invited to the show and I decided to do it., plus a valet parking $20 and they get park your car in front of the restaurant, which is actually the parking lot associated and available to the restaurant!!!,,,, so they are not using any extra parking lot or giving to you any extra sercive !!!!!! TOTAL RIP OFF !!

It took 45 minutes for the first plate to come. Then the rest of us waited for another 20 minutes for our food to come. The food was cold and they messed up the orders. The waiter was very young and inexperienced. I will never recommend this place to anybody

This place is an absolute scam, they promise well-known artists are going to perform the charge you $40 to see the artist and 4 AM in the morning nobody showed on stage we left and still nothing do not fall for it! Plus extremely expensive for the service they offer very poor customer service

Waitress rolled her eyes when we asked if we could split the check (before we ordered). They took a long time to bring everything out. Food was cold. At one point we looked around and there wasn't a single staff member out on the restaurant floor.

Too bad this place has such terrible service and that the music is oh so loud for brunch. The employees are very rude. I hope they change if not this place will not last. They need experienced and nicer employees. Mucha suerte 🙏

My family and I spent New Year's Eve in this restaurant, it was the worst experience that we could ever had. First of all we went on December 12 to make the reservation and see the place. We reserved and specified the table we wanted; because we had my 14 month old baby and we wanted to be comfortable plus 8 adults in my group. On the day of the event they did not give us the table we reserved; the so call DJ was not professional at all, it was evident he didn't know what he was doing. They oversold the tickets; tables and chairs where squizzed all together; there was no space to walk, much less dance. We waited 1 hour and a half for the food and when it arrived at the table it was cold and the portion was for a 3 year old child. The waiter was another disaster, we were sitting at the table for more than 1 hour and he never came to take our drink order; We had to approach him on several occasions and have him bring us drinks, there was no soda and it wasn't until we spoke with the restaurant manager when they decided to start giving us drinks and food. Then at 11:45pm a so call "Pututi" was the entertainer he decided to come up on stage which was another failure. It definitely shows that it is a new management and they have no idea what it is like to run a restaurant. Everyone else at other tables could see the frustration on their faces. My family and I ended up leaving that place feeling frustrated with the experiance, none of what they promised happened. If you don't want to have a bad time I RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE. WORSE PLACE EVER IN ALL MIAMI

First time coming here. Right off the bat after parking, there's a shady guy in the shopping plaza demanding $10 dollars for parking. Firstly, there's a huge sign that says, " free parking VIP parking $10". So we ask and tell him we don't want VIP parking, we can park our car ourselves and walk the 200 feet that is from our car to the restaurant. The guy starts rambling that we have to pay $20 to park there and $10 to park past the stop sign somewhere in the back. Super confused, I tell him I am going inside to ask the manager since what the sign says and what I am being told do not add up. The manager gives us the run around, making it seem like parking pass the cones is free and it shouldn't be a problem. We express out concerns and advise that the parking guy was trying to pocket an extra $10 bucks for parking, didn't really care and just said that he will talk to him about it and fire him. Unfortunately one of my friends did pay for parking, and the parking left their keys IN THEIR CAR THE WHOLE TIME. Additionally I paid $10 for the show whom only performed like 20 minutes and it was horrible. Don't waste your time or money in this place. Its tiny, the food is overpriced and sub par. I can get a better meal at FINKA table and tap for half the price. Between the overpriced food, horrible performance, and charging people shady prices for parking, and ridiculous sales tax/ service fee, these people will not be getting my business ever again.

Place is big. Other than than the booth, tables are small. The waiters(mostly young girls) very nice and trying to do what they can with what they have. Food, first they do not offer bread, instead they give some plantain chips that were not even well fried so have of them you have to leave them there. Second the food came at 3 different time, I got mine when my wife was finished with her. We order two of the chef's special( which I thought will be something better than the standard) Well wrong again my wife fish (chef's special) was nothing to write home about it, mine Salmon in lemon sauce(chef's special) after the first bite I smell a rare smell and returned right away. So basically the experience was bad, I ask for the check ( To say something good they do not charge for the salmon) I pay the check, tip the girl because she was trying the best she could, and get the hell out of there. I wish them the best luck but with that kind of food I do not think is going to happen. I hope this review help somebody not to waste a family weekend going to a restaurant in this one.

The worst experience ever!!!! If zero star were allowed, I would. This place was recommended by my little brother. My husband and I wanted to try it and we had gone a couple of times. When we wanted to go a third time, a waitress recommended that we make a reservation based on the demand of the place and we did it 2 weeks before the date we wanted to go at 9:30. So far, all good. However, when we came, at 9pm, we were served by 3 different waiters. The last one took our order, which was very simple: churrasco and mashed potatoes for BOTH, it meas, same order for me and for my husband, but she didn't wrote the order. When the food came it was COLD and the waitress just served ONE plate. At we were starving. When we called one of the waitress that supposedly was the one that should attend us, he told us that he didn't know about it and due to he had a lot of clients that night, he asked other waitress to help him. We explained him what was our order. My husband was already very upset and delivered the dish that we had not touched waiting for the other dish. Then other waitress came asking what was the problem and we asked for the manager. that waitress told us that the manager was very busy and she couldn't go to our table to which I replied that she was very wrong, that we were clients. When the "manager" arrived, she was a girl which was dressed in a short leather skirt and tennis shoes. Is she really a manager? For the third time, we repeat the whole story. Is it so hard to understand a simple order, 2 churrascos with mashed potatoes? After about 20 minutes, it was almost 10:30pm, the waitress came AGAIN with just ONE plate!!!!! Is that possible?????? At that point we asked for our drinks check, we paid (with tips, my husband is very generous person), and left the place. What a shame!!!!! La Mesa......never, ever, again!!!!!!!!

Worse Customer service ever! Me and my friends use to love going to la Mesa on Sunday’s and dance a little salsa! Last night my best friend and her husband were trying to order drinks with the waiter and the waiter kept on bringing them the wrong drinks. After a couple of attempts later, they decide to cancel and order at bar. However, the waiter was still insisting they pay the bill even though they never got their drinks. After this issue, the waiter attempted to kick out my best friend husband and also attempted to physically fight his wife in front of guest. When we spoke to the manager, management said they can’t do anything because they had a full house. NEVER again will we go back!

If I am going to give credits I think it will be to their Instagram page. The posts look very appealing to the public; but going to the place in person is, unfortunately, a different story. A couple of recommendations: 1. the site or Instragram page should explain or address the parking situation. I still find it questionable that they want to charge for the entire mall strip, when clearly there are other businesses involved, but I guess that would be a topic for another conversation. The parking guy that was there this past Saturday appeared "shady" and it seemed that he was "pockering money." Even though there is a sign that addresses how the parking is handled, the person "in charge for the parking lot" stated something completely different. He attempted to charge $20 for VIP (mind you, these are limited spaces close to the entrance) and $10 for the rest (there were only a couple of spaces blocked with cones). The sign posted by the entrance stated "Free parking, VIP $10" (make your own conclusions). He even stated that if we didn't want to park, we were "allowed" to park passing a stop sign outside the strip mall (if we would have followed his instructions, we would have ended up parking in a residential area with higher probabilities of getting the car towed). Well, we spoke with the restaurant manager who apologized for the inconvenience and let us park inside the mall strip without charging. Still, not clearly how that business is handled, but I do question how they are allow to charge. 2. Review your cover charge for the band - We got there at 7p.m. and the band started playing close to 8:30 to 9 p.m. Of course, we were ready to leave by that time so we barely enjoyed it; but still paid for that cover charge. 3. No flavor - The drinks and food were also a complete miss. No taste, overpriced for what it was; it was another disaster 4. Bill, misleading messages - there is a charge called "service charge" which constitutes to 18% of what was consumed. We asked our server and she indicated that the charge is the tip; however, the receipt had a written message indicating that "tip is additional." Completely deceiving! If they want to keep growing, they should take in consideration all these issues and address them with the whole staff. There are plenty of other reviews with bad experiences as well. At the end of the day business is business and we are just the consumers; but clearly our experience was as terrible and we will not recommend this place to anyone!

HORRIBLE service! We went because it was recommended. We asked for recommendations from our server, she didnt know much of the menu so we ordered appetizers and sodas. Food was not pleasant. We had asked the gentlemen who brought our sodas if we could get one more and his reply was "eso no es mi trabajo mami". Which was extremely rude. So we decided to leave. Our amazement to see the bill had a $40 service fee on top of our $180.. we were definitely surprised. NEVER AGAIN.. oh, and you have to pay for parking in a public spot. Read that again!

If I could give zero stars for this place I would. The experience was absolutely terrible. The place is understaffed, the kitchen is slow, the bathrooms were undersupplied and unkempt, and the management is unapologetic. (To be clear, there was no singing or dancing to maneuver around). When we came in we were one of three large party tables at the restaurant. Most other tables were empty. The server didn’t begin getting orders for appetizers until 45 minutes after we were all seated. Our server would walk up to our table and then walk away as if she didn’t know where to begin to get food orders or something....It took two and a half hours to finally get all of our food on the table. The flavor and temperature of everyone’s plates was completely inconsistent, ranging from hard rice, chewy plátanos, cold food, either no flavor or too salty churrasco. The DJ played music so loud that we had to yell to be heard by the person two seats down. The manager flat out dismissed our requests to have the music turned down a little so we could enjoy the company. At least one stall in the women’s bathroom didn’t have any toilet paper and all of the bathroom floor was wet (???). If this was a club with a real party/dance atmosphere I would understand the music being the main priority. Instead, this restaurant placed music as a priority over food and service. We are usually a very forgiving and laid back family. This particular night we got to the point where we had to say something about the service and the atmosphere. The manager never once came over to our table apologize or offer any explanation which we would have readily accepted. If you absolutely must go to this restaurant then I recommend that you go soon because without a change from it’s current practices it won’t be open for long.

We went on a Sunday for Brunch to try this place out. Open the door, Cute decor, big location but no one at the hostess desk nor at the bakery. We look around and wait for someone that will sit us down. But all we see is everyone scrambling. They had some tables reserved for a big party. We finally get seated and get the most rudest waitress with no personality def not the job for her. She hardly talked and didn’t even suggest anything on the menu. Then we asked her how many croquettes in the order of the crab cake croquettes she didn’t know and said she would find out. Never heard from her. Our croquettes came she put them down and didn’t say not one word. Not even an enjoy, not a can I get anything else for you. Nothing and walked away. We then waited and waited... Nothing..she started to serve the big party that had reserved seating and we saw her chatting with her fellow Co-workers. Again, a lot of scrambling with several men and waitresses which make the ambiance really weird. She finally came to ask us if we wanted to order we asked for the check. When we got the check I was charged for unlimited mimosas when I clearly told her not to charge me for unlimited mimosas I only wanted one. At that point I just wanted to leave. The place is really nicely decorated, but needs some major work on the service and everyone scrambling doesn’t look good either. Looks like no one knows what there doing or if there is any direction.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My family and I have previously gone to La Mesa in Doral for new years eve, so this year we reserved to spend it at the Westchester location. They told us ownership had changed recently, but we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into. They filled this place to the brim with tables, where even the dance floor had tables and there was 0 space to walk between tables, let alone dance. This place was filled with about 200 people and only 5 waitresses to handle them all. We arrived at 8:30, took half an hour to even be seen for water and ordering food, and then we didn’t get our food until 11pm. If I’m waiting 3 hours food, it better the best food I’ve had in my life. But no, the food was terrible. When the food arrived and we saw what we had waited 3 hours for, we walked out. They ruined the NYE experience for us and most everyone else as well. Some families walked out upset, as we did, others were raging with the workers. Of course they don’t care about your experience because they already charged you prior to reserve. This was a big cash grab with little regard for the experience of their workers or their guests, and I would never recommend to anyone.

I was very excited to spend a nice New Year's Eve experience in this place. I even had family visiting from Costa Rica, but the experience in this place was the worst experience in my life. I have visited many places and restaurants. And in my life I have never had such a bad experience to start with. When I initially spoke with the organizer of the event and made my reservation, I was very clear about which table I wanted to be comfortable with my family and my baby. Upon my arrival, my surprise was that my table was already another family was sitting there. The DJ was another failure, he had romantic music playing at a New Year's Eve party, it wasn't until my dad went to complain about the music and played more party music. But that was another mistake: they oversold tickets and that place was oversaturated with people and tables, there was literally no space to walk. The waiter we had to stand up from the table and literally bring him by the hand to take our drink order and his response was they will bring the drinks when the food comes out. How is it possible that they were not prepared with the proper staff. It took them more than 1hr45min to serve us and it was until my husband spoke to the manager of the place and, annoyed, told him that the waiting was too long, at that moment he took action and the same manager bring us the food, but now It was too late, our night was already ruined. The cook was another person improvising the portion of food in this place and the presentation was somewhat disappointing. Another thing, the famous Pututi, the entertainer who should have been animating from early in the night, he did not get on stage until 11:45pm. We couldn't stand anymore the circus anymore and we weren't very disappointed by this place. They definitely ruined my night.

La Mesa, what a great, awesome vibes catching, and family oriented restaurant, we the residents of Westchester, have. At least when they first opened..... My family and friends were trying to celebrate my birthday at La Mesa Restaurant past Sunday brunch, what a disappointed experience we had. Service was a disaster, no knowledge about their own menu was the first negative impact we experienced. You couldn't get a description neither a recommendation every time we would ask our server, lets better said, every time she would decide to appear at the table. No warm feelings towards your guest, no connection in order to offer a good experience, no wine or champagne knowledge to make suggestions for an imminent Toast. Everything was pretty most a total NO in our experience. I believe la Mesa Restaurant's ownership deserves better from their workers, at least a minimum sense of love and property for such a great entity, in which they make their living and feed their families. Maybe wasn't the regular staff working that day, my grandmother replied to me every time we bounced against a cold and indifferent Server. I guess the management personnel was not in for the day, because we never had the pleasure of interaction. Drinks were always taken late or forgotten, I wish I could comment on them, they looked good but water down for the extra time seating by the bar, or seating by the bar and the server not realizing drinks were ready when she was just flying around like a distracted butterfly. Anyways, I am not going to stop coming to this place just because of this, we need more restaurants like LA Mesa and less servers like the one who pretended to be working that day. (The ownership team deserves better) P.S: the floor installation its coming out great.
