We were referred here by Dion of Dion Atelier. It was fabulous! Service was amazing and food matched. I had the salmon with a lemon cream sauce and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had a chicken dish...forgot the name, but both were delicious. Each meal came with a couscous medley that was also very tasty. Ambiance was great too. We weren't really dressed for the environment (we were super casual) but they didn't treat us differently, maybe they're used to it since they're so close to the beach. We will definitely get dressed the next time we come.

Good food, good service, charming place. The restaurant is located at the ground floor of the beautiful, historical looking Marlin hotel. There is a beautiful bar just before taking a few steps down to the restaurant if you want to have a drink before or after your meal. The restaurant has an elegant setting. The wine list is more than adequate and the Super Toscan by the glass is good. The steam mussels were good with a light elegant white wine and garlic sauce. The veal raviolis are excellent with a very tasty and elegant touch brought by fried sage leaves. The service is very pleasant.

Truly excellent Italian cuisine! We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely Saturday evening. The veal Parmigiano was the best I've ever had. The wine selection was very good as well. Highly recommend the whole experience. We will definitely return!

Gilbert the Owner very attentive and charismatic also helped guide us through the menu. Martin the chef at the end of the meal took the time to visit the table and see how we enjoyed everything. Everything is fresh, homemade and flavorful. If you are into cocktails definitely try the Sofia Lauren and if you enjoy a nice dessert you can't go wrong with any of it. Definitely we'll be back. It's no wonder why they've been so successful for more than 30 years

I had an amazing dinner here tonight. I got the Miami spice special, which included a salad, an entrée, and dessert. The service I received was wonderful, and the quality of the pasta was delicious. I would definitely come back the next time I visit South Beach. (don’t forget the tiramisu!)

Located in the lobby area of a hotel. The dessert display case at the front of the restaurant is a good indicator you've made it to the right place. I wish I had come with more fellow diners so I could try more dishes! We were only able to try the spinach crepe appetizer and the veal ravioli before we were stuffed! The spinach crepes came in a red sauce with melted cheese on top. They were very tasty. The veal ravioli was delicious and came in a brown sugar sauce with fresh basil and what I believe was toasted sage 😋. They make a creamy crab meat pasta dish that’s simply AMAZING. I mean, everything there is very, very good, and I very much like their Osso Buco, as well. I don’t think you can go wrong there. And while it is not cheap, by any stretch, I would say it is quite reasonably priced for primo, first class fine dining Italian on Miami Beach. Always a winner. We actually drive from far west, Weston, in the next County over (Broward) just to go there, a drive of over 45 minutes.

10/10 would recommend. Everything was amazing. Loved the food and will make the drive to Miami for this food any time. The owner Gilbert was awesome and went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. Rafael the manager was awesome too. Everyone was always around and ready to help. You can just tell this restaurant is run well.

Came here for our anniversary dinner and it was the perfect meal! From top notch service to perfectly prepared dishes and drinks, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. No matter what your favorite Italian dishes are, take the opportunity to get one of their signature dishes. They are all homemade recipes and so thoughtfully created. My wife and I are best described as foodies who travel quite extensively. The quality and taste of the food at Osteria Del Teatro is truly outstanding. We are thinking about going back again tonight, which is unusual for us in a city with so many options. The decor feels a bit out-of-date but it still feels intimate and romantic. The wine list for bottles is good but the wine offered by the glass needs improvement (my wife doesn’t drink wine). The quality of the wines offered by the glass simply do not match the quality of the food. Highly recommend this restaurant. It’s the best food we’ve had in along time.

My husband and I saw a clip of the restaurant on the local news. We made reservations and drove an hour to check out out. The atmosphere and service was fantastic. I had the veal francese with angel hair. The sauce was amazing and the pasta was perfect. My husband had the chicken parmesan. He said it was by far the best he has had. I wish we lived closer!!! I would like to try the lobster pasta dish. It looked delicious. We’re will be back soon.

I will give them 5+ stars from the get go. The food was greeeeaaat; the octopus as an appetizer is delicious and so is the fried calamari! I had the Frutti Di mare risotto and my fiance had the lasagna; they were perfect and really good and well done. For desert we had a delicious Tiramisu. Gilberto the owner kept coming around from time to time to check on us and I gotta give him props because he is funny and a damn good host! I really recommend this place! Impeccable service. Super friendly and efficient staff. Seems as if the owner is everywhere being friendly with all patrons. We enjoyed the food. It was too good not to share a taste from each of our table mates. Very nice Super Tuscan and also tried on a lark the Italian beer. As a total beer snob I was surprised by how great it was and a perfect complement to the four apps we shared at the table. Can’t recommend too highly.

Received a warm welcome when we entered. All pasta and desserts are homemade. Veal was lean and tender. Atmosphere and noise level was well balanced. The service was friendly and made us feel welcome. I never felt rushed which is very important to me. Punch line - will return again during our next visit. We were warmly greeted by name when we arrived for our reservation and given the best seat in the house (imo). The staff was very attentive and friendly, especially our server and the manager/owner. We opted for one of the special menu items for our appetizers and entrees. The food was nicely presented and tasted great. The entire experience was more than I expected and we look forward to going back again. This was our 3rd time eating there, with the last time being 4 years ago. It was good then and it's still good now.

My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and this place did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The gentleman with the ponytail who greeted us at the host desk (perhaps the manager?) did the absolute most to make sure our experience was amazing. Husband said the black squid ink pasta was the best pasta he has ever had (not sure the exact dish but it had calamari and mussels). My fettuccine with tiger shrimp was very enjoyable. Definitely coming back when we visit Miami Beach again!!

Girl's night out at Osteria. The food is delicious, fresh, flavorful and all homemade! Rafael provided great service in a very comfortable atmosphere. Lasagna is chef's kiss good. Going forward, will compare all Lasagna to Osteria's.

Overall best Italian resturaunt in Miami! Pleasantly surprised as we did not have reservations, walked in and was provided a table immediately. Excellent service and very accommodating. 15-20 years ago we would enjoy this spot just across from Espanola - now that we live north it's great to see it change locations to North 'Bay Village. Easy parking, simple to get to, same great food. Service was outstanding. All pastas and meat dishes fresh, hot, and prepared with some love. Kid-friendly, and great for a quiet date night. For similar price it is far superior food to most of the usual suspect local Italians and a level above. A good Valentine's dinner or semi-casual family dinner. The crowd is like going to the Palm on a Friday so it's not a South Beach scene. Great to have this, one of the best Italian restaurants in the state, in our back yard.

Had an amazing dinner and the service is impeccable. The owner greets you immediately and stops by your table to see how things are! That’s great customer service. The mussels in red sauce were amazing and the pasta fagioli was delicious. The bolognese was the best my husband ever had. I had the Chilean sea bass! Huge portion and so delicious. The scalloped potatoes were off the chain!

We came back to Miami for another cruise. We hadn’t been back for three years, but remembered this restaurant. This time around we were a party of ten, which they had no problem accommodating. We were greeted with smiles and warmth that continued throughout our whole dinner experience. Our waiter, who was Cuban, was easily top five waiters I’ve experienced in my life; On top of everything, from start to finish. My 16 year old son is very picky, and he was allowed to order a make shift order that wasn’t even on the menu. He was extremely happy!! The experience is a 10, and when we return, there is no other place we’ll have dinner! Everything is perfect! A MUST, I promise!!!

This is my experience. I came to this classic restaurant 2 years ago and have been sick with longing since. The cuisine and presentation aren't good or great, they are perfect. Last night I was lucky enough to come visit again. The environment is how restaurants should be. Shut the front door. Best I have ever eaten. I ate at Bobby Flays in Vegas 2 nights prior and had his snapper. Bobby got beat!

Osteria del Teatro specializes in Italian food and has a lavish selection of wine. (Our server even happed to be from Milan!) The atmosphere is elevated a cozy with white table clothes and both indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was all freshly prepared and made with ingredients that make each dish special. A perfect place for a special occasion or just for a really good meal.

I would like to share one of the many good experiences I have had at Osteria Del Teatro, but on May 23rd I went with my wife, children and their partners to celebrate my beloved wife's birthday and apart from enjoying such exquisite food, the attention of the entire staff was first class. Great place with a nice atmosphere and good service. The happy hour menu has some very interesting Italian inspired plates and the bar makes great drinks. Pricing for an happy hour in South Beach is definitely reasonable. Thumbs up!

POLENTA AL FUNGHETTO is amazing!! It's mushrooms in some sort of grain, I would compare it to grits, but much more flavorful and savory. The veal ravioli was artistically made! It has so many flavors! Fennel, cheeses, soft hand made dough, it's perfect. One of the best Italian places to eat in Miami.

Cute and Cozy, we went down for a family vacation and decided to eat here not once but TWICE on our trip. As a Sicilian family we care about finding authentic Italian food and this place is a MUST. along with the food, the staff is excellent and was very attentive. We had small children and they handled it very well. We are so happy to hear this place is staying open and we hope it continues to grow and everyone who comes to visit gets to experience it.

I been coming here once a year for the past four years! It's incredible, the new location is breathtaking. The wait staff is on top of everything and the owner ensures everyone is well taken care of by stopping by at each table. My boyfriend ate the tiger shrimp (shrimp the size of lobsters), and I ate a bolenesge with filet mignon instead of ground beef and homemade noodles! Absolutely fabulous.

The atmosphere is understated elegance, the service is warm and friendly, but even those attributes do not hold a candle to the food! I've had the Pumpkin Sage ravioli, chicken picatta, and the champagne chicken dish (I like chicken) the chicken was cooked perfectly, fork easy cut. My better half always gets the Salmon and is always amazed at how perfectly it is always cooked. Can't say enough about this place! Cheers!

I visited here for the first time the other evening with a friend who raved about this place. It was hands down the best Italian food I've ever had and lived up to every expectation. The service was impeccable throughout the meal and you could tell everyone working there takes great pride in providing and exceptional experience. The pumpkin ravioli was deliciously rich with a sweet and savory combination between the pumpkin and ricotta. The casonsei alla bergamasca was to die for and I can't wait to come back to have it again! My wife and I are in Miami for our baby moon. Our Travel Credit Card recommended Osteria Del Teatro as a premier restaurant in the area. Let me start by saying this may be the best dinner I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in we felt special as the manager, Rafael, called me by name and congratulated us on being pregnant. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and did each of their jobs exceptionally well. For drinks, I had a wonderful Merlot and my wife had a “No-Jito” (virgin mojito). They were both very good! For dinner, I had an fettuccine dish with tiger shrimp covered in a delicious lobster sauce. It was to die for! My wife had a great rigatoni dish with homemade meatballs. We ended the diner with an amazing vanilla crème brûlée If you are in the area, you MUST make a reservation and dine at this incredible restaurant. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend

Stopped for a Night Cap and was pleasantly surprised about the overall appeal of the restaurant. The bar is cozy and Eva makes sure you are part of the group, which is hard to find now days with the social distancing and all. The bar fare was very good. Ready to visit soon and be part of the Happy Hour!

This restaurant blew us away for our anniversary dinner last night. Quite possibly one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. Mussels special to start was great, the fra diavolo sauce was delicious! My husband and I both ordered the pappardelle and whole lobster for dinner and it was outrageous! Our waitress was very attentive and all the staff worked so well together to make our experience top notch. They ended our meal with a surprise dessert and song to celebrate our anniversary, very unexpected and also delicious! We will certainly be back the next time we’re in the area!

We had the carrot soup and the the spinach crepe with melting cheese on top. Amazing. The lobster pasta with pink sauce and the pasta carbonara with the pancetta was great. The whole dining experience was amazing. The owner Gilbert stopped at every table and made sure everything was to your satisfaction. We will definitely be back.

Osteria del teatro was absolutely amazing, from the moment we walked through the door. So welcoming. The drinks were outstanding. Ordered Ossobuco(veal shank) with risotto and it was the best I have ever eaten. My wife ordered a Pesto ravioli which was sold out. Manager offered another dish containing Pesto and stated she would not be disappointed, and he was so right she loved the entree. The wait staff was so attentive. Didn't have room for dessert, but our waitress brought out a sampling of tiramisu and WOW is so delicious. If you love Italian food, this is a must stop on your list when visiting Miami Beach. Thanks for an awesome experience.

Delicious pasta!! We sat on the patio for outdoor dining so it was pretty causal. Pasta dishes are giant! Pricing is more on the expensive side of things, but the quality was great and the portions are large. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and the seafood linguini, both excellent. Unfortunately was too full for dessert because I really wanted to have the tiramisu, but we did also enjoy some cocktails.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! For our last night in Miami we wanted to treat ourselves to a delicious meal at a nice restaurant and we were able to do so thanks to Osteria! This beautiful Italian restaurant was an amazing experience. I wish I could give them an additional star. I have never had such a more inviting dinner experience. The staff was so over the top friendly and had gone out of their way to be as hospitable as an establishment could be. The most perfect anniversary dinner one could hope for. The atmosphere is also fantastic. The music is soothing, the homemade pastas are phenomenal and again the service is outstanding.

I had a wonderful time here this evening. The service was almost perfect, but I dinged points on the atmosphere because I don't like hearing the staff members argue amongst each other. go in the back. I don't want to hear it while I'm trying to dine. The food was surprisingly good, perhaps a little too salty, but the portion size was excellent, and I ate all of it. I was happy when I was done. the most important thing for anyone to know reading this review is I will go back. My only real complaint is the fact they automatically add an 18% gratuity. I dislike restaurants that automatically add gratuities, and that is a big minus in my book. I much prefer to decide what I want to leave and leave it myself.

Good food all around, nothing so astounding. Reasonable prices for the place it is which is upscale in a surrounding which is losing its appeal day by day. Jumbo shrimps were exquisitely done by a crafted chef! Safe choice for the neighborhood.

the good: I'd made reservations for 8PM and couldn't make it in until 9:30. they looked me up and sat me right away. the host and server (same guy) was fantastic. very friendly and helpful. the lady who came by with the pepper came to check on us again too. the service was quick. my boyfriend really enjoyed his meal - Spaghetti alla Dino. the bad: my meal was underwhelming - Pollo allo Champagne. it wasn't bad by any means but not what I'd consider great for the cost. the tiramisu was really hyped here and on yelp. I didn't care much for that either. it tasted fresh but somewhat bland. 4 stars because the service was great and at least half the meal was well enjoyed. I'd give it another shot with a different meal next time.

Great authentic Italian ambiance with a classy sitting. The staff was very friendly. We ordered 2 plates. The carbonara was delicious (5/5) and the linguini and clams dish was too salty (2/5). We mentioned the extra saltiness of the second dish and they offered to redo the dish but we were already full so they brought us a complimentary tiramisu dessert

Our experience was not the same as most of the other reviews. Perhaps they were having a bad night, but our first experience in its new location it will definitely be our last. In general, all of the dishes sounded good on the menu but were poorly executed on the plate, this actually began with a bread basket full of variety, but unfortunately all of the bread was stale and the really stale ones were toasted. The polenta was runny; the calamari zucchini fritti appetizer was fried until rock hard; the caesar salad as well as the hearts of palm salads were lacking flavor; the pasta dishes were great on the menu but boring on the plate; and likewise the sauces were nuclear temperature hot. We hope we are the exception to the rule but we would not recommend this place.

Some good food, some not so good. We were expecting a more positive experience. I had to fill our wine glasses up twice only to have a waiter run over and make me feel bad for doing so. If our wine glasses are empty, I'm going to fill them up. Either keep up, or don't pretend you can. I also had to ask for water, including to the GM, several times after the glass sat there empty for 15 minutes. These aren't problems at a normal restaurant because you're not paying for perfection. Here you're paying for perfection and getting mediocrity. I expect more when paying $270 for two people. Also, the place seemed very well staffed, but there are times when they are running around ragged and don't show up for extended lengths of time. I'm not sure if they have some weird break hours, double as chefs, or what causes this. The only reason that I enjoyed the meal was because of some good conversation with the couple next to us. I don't recommend eating here

1) They pre-add a “mandatory tip” to the bill without any disclosure to the customer. Absolutely unacceptable. 2) Those nice white table cloths you see in their advertised photos? Gone. So you’re paying white table-cloth prices for the cheap Denny’s looking table underneath. 3) Those nice full-leather-looking chairs you see in their advertised indoor photos? Gone. Now they are cheaper looking chairs. 4) Very heavy sales tactics. I literally cannot remember the last time I felt so pressured into purchasing more stuff at a restaurant. Having said that, we did like our food.
