13 Giugno Milano Reviews
13 Giugno is a restaurant that became part of my everyday life in Milan. Living nearby, it was a place I returned to often, for both lunch and dinner, and one I always enjoyed sharing with guests. There is an immediate sense of welcome here that puts people at ease. The cuisine is unmistakably Mediterranean, with a strong Sicilian soul and a clear love for the sea. Crudi are fresh and beautifully handled, seafood generous and well chosen, and pastas expressive without excess. Dishes feel rooted in tradition, yet light and current, guided by ingredient quality rather than effect. What I value most is how natural everything feels. The room is lively without being overwhelming, the rhythm of the meal easy and unforced. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, creating a sense of being looked after rather than simply served. 13 Giugno is the kind of restaurant one trusts. A place where good food, generosity, and human presence come effortlessly together. For me, it remains one of those tables in Milan that holds memories, welcomes friends, and never loses its appeal.
I loved it. Best Siciliana Food in town Thank you Edwardo 😊
Not sure why this restuarant still doesn’t have a Michelin star because it definitely deserves one. Impeccable service provided by the personnel as if you are truly in a 5 star hotel. We were welcomed in the restaurant very warmly, our coats were taken and hanged just like how it’s supposed to be. We were brought to our table with elegance. This restaurant took us back to the good old times probably when elegance and respect was given the right value. There was a gentleman on the piano who played and sang just like the old times. Reminded me of the songs of Eric Clapton. We chose a tasting menu with wine tasting as well and oh well its a whole journey of food from Sicily. Really authentic food taste and great selection of wine along with the explanation of everything you eat and drink. Time passed and we didn’t even feel it. Nothing wrong to say about the place just good vibes and respect for them 🙂 A gem in Milan.
Let’s start with Jero was amazing! He was so attentive, suggested all the right things and made sure the group of 9 that I came with were happy. And boy were we happy! The piano and live music was a perfect bonus. Come here, you won’t be disappointed!
I had an unforgettable dining experience at 13 Giugno in Milan! The warm, welcoming atmosphere and elegant Sicilian-inspired decor made me feel like I’d stepped right into Sicily. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the pasta was exceptional, and the wine selection was thoughtfully curated. The personal touch from the owner and his son made it even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Sicilian cuisine in Milan!
It was a little feast, very good food and original combinations of ingredients. The maitre d'hotel was very friendly and tried to give a personal touch to the experience, without being too heavy. There was soft live music that was pleasant and not too loud. It is a bit overpriced unfortunately (like most restaurants in Milan) but the it was worth going there. I strongly recommend if you would like to have a very good sea-related meal with some sicilian parfum in a setting that can work for a romantic dinner, a family celebration or a business dinner. Very nice wine list :-)
My review is about service and what makes a place great. My girlfriend and I had been traveling through the Balkans for two weeks and had a 36 hour stopover in Milan. We arrived into town late (21:00) after a rather chaotic and HOT flight from Thessaloniki. We were staying around the corner from 13 Guigno Goldini and on the way to our apt I peeked into a window thinking I was looking into the Ristorante. It looked delicious and casual. So we asked our B&B host if he could help us get a table and a quick meal. Through some miscommunication and my lack of understanding what I had seen he directed us to the VERY nice Restorante not the Bistrot (what I had looked into). We were WOEFULLY underdressed. I was in shorts, sneakers and a button-up shirt and my girlfriend was in some linen pants and a T. Everybody else was in sport coats, cocktail dresses, suits....nice post work attire. We felt totally out of place and awkward. But it didn't matter to the staff and the owner. They treated us just the same and could not have been more welcoming and polite. The service was impeccable, warm, prompt and polite. After years of dining in stuffy high-end joints where staff made you feel "uncool" or like a clutz, to go somewhere looking like you had no right to walk in the door and be treated great was awesome. The food was of course fantastic. I had a lovely fettucinine with frutti di mare and a nice bottle of Nero D'Avola wine. The portions were large and the price was extremely fair given the quality and style. Huge thank you to the owner and his staff for making us feel welcome. We screwed up by not eating at the Bistrot our second night in Milan. It easily looked like the best food on the whole east half of Milan.
Good food, if you like sea food. Nice and attentive staff.
Very nice location in Milan to taste Sicilian food. In addition, you might be lucky and have the pleasure to listen to piano songs . But stay away from the table close to the piano..:-)
I lived in Milan twenty years ago and I expected the Italians to have become a little more intellectual in that time. That was definitely not the case when we visited 13 Giogno tonight. When I go out to eat, I do not want to take a computer with Excel installed to check the bill. After all these years, Italians still think they can cheat foreigners and make them pay extra. Even in an expensive restaurant, it was no more than 20 to 40 euros (I was not counting), but I expect the bill to be at least correct. Otherwise, the food is acceptable for the price and the service is good at first, but later on it does not live up to the standard. We had a good time, but I would not advise anyone to go to a restaurant that uses this or similar methods.
I was visiting Milan for a business trip from Zurich. I was supposed to have a business dinner with a client working on fashion luxury so I thought to find a good fish restaurant that was both good food and good ambience, and as few years back I lived for sometime in via Pisacane, near to this restaurant, this place came to mind. Waiters were kind but not as attentive, as we received wrong items more than once. I cannot complain for the food beside some too dry spiedini di pesce, but I have to say it was as good as the average normal quality that you would find commonly in Italy. Also, being my client from Sicily, we were not convinced by the authenticity of prices VS Sicilian food, which is always meant to be a shared and popular experience in the sense that is not meant to be 30 euros for an appetizer. Sadly, all I can say is that the prices are outrageous even for someone coming from the most expensive city in the world. These are Michelin star prices and this is not a Michelin star level restaurant nor in the service, nor in the food. Also, at the end, the waiter asked us many times if the price on the receipt was what we wanted to pay, I would recall he asked us the same question at least 4 times, putting us in a very awkward position since 8 euros for a coperto is already an extremely high fee for table service, and being with another Italian, we know very well that tips is not mandatory nor custom in Italy, especially when coperto is 8 euros for each person. All in all, this is a place that could appeal to tourists only, that are ok with tourist traps but still want to enjoy a decent experience.
The food is okay. Out of the dishes we ordered, I like the tuna tartare and seafood risotto in particular. Dessert is a plus point. Good selection of wine. The service is also not as bad as what others have reviewed. Waiters are helpful indeed. Good to have a try, but not something very surprising.
This restaurant will simply spoil your experience in Milan - it is expensive but the food is really pathetic, even pasta! in Italy! was not eatable, not even worth 24 euro;)
