Caffè Ottolina Milano Reviews
Posto bello e accogliente con personale molto gentile.
Ragazzi fantastici.. Brioche e cappuccio top! È un piacere fare colazione da loro.
Eccellente!
I have been a customer for several years and every time I have breakfast, lunch or an aperitif at Ottolina's I now feel at home. Very friendly, polite and attentive staff. Prices in line with the rest of the Milanese city center; very familiar atmosphere as well as professional and informal for the occasions. Superbe Raw material. And how Max makes them, no one does the aperitifs!
Giulia e Valentina gentili simpatiche e molto cortesi. Fanno la differenza !!!!

Milan is where I learnt to drink Machiatto. Ottolina is good for best Machiatto
Trendy and cosy with good coffee and pastries, staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Personale cordiale, solare e tanto accogliente.
Personale cortese, veloce e sempre sorridente.
Welcoming environment with all the options for consumption: standing, at tables, inside, outside. Fresh and excellent quality brioches (or croissants or cornetti, if you prefer), the same goes for the cappuccino and all the "versions" of coffee. Quick and courteous service. Completely "branded" furnishings and services, sober and elegant and a bit retro (actually from the 40s and 50s, 1948 is the year the business began): black and white and gold writing are the only colors and everything contributes to an image of quality. Music played at a volume a bit too high for my tastes, I would also try to take care of the choice of genre and songs to complete the style of the place in accordance with everything else.

It's ok
Yet another branch of the Cibiamo chain, which in bars is called a coffee shop for effect. Effect that doesn't exist; yes, the place is nice, with a few tables outside. But what about the rest? Frozen foods sold for a fortune, but you can charge €7 for a small focaccia, and it's not even made by them? A coffee costs €1.30, at least if it were even halfway decent. In short, a visual disgrace, as the area demands, full of important offices, including the regional government building, with a girl at the counter who barely greeted me. Well, I'd say a nice neighborhood bar a hundred times better, at least they charge half the price for identical products! I don't recommend it. UPDATE: I appreciate the owner's response, I'll definitely give it another chance. Thanks.
Esperienza bruttissima.
Buona fortuna!!
Dopo averlo frequentato a pranzo negli ultimi 4 anni mi tocca cambiare posto.
I visited this bar recently and was deeply shocked by a scene of racial discrimination I witnessed. In a context of extremely heated and shouting incidents that caused embarrassment in the establishment, two female bar employees hurled very serious and offensive insults at a young man, denigrating his ethnicity in an unacceptable manner. It's truly sad that such behavior still happens today, and I hope the bar takes action to ensure a more respectful and inclusive environment.
A terrible experience! Just before arriving at the place, I bought a coffee somewhere else because of a dietary restriction. We were three people. When we arrived at the place, I still had the glass from the other coffee shop. The gentleman who works at the place said that I should leave because of the coffee I was having. I left while my friends stayed inside. In the meantime, my friend asked for a coffee, and the same gentleman was very rude to her, and kept looking outside because I had put my backpack on a chair, and he told them that I couldn't. When she sat outside, we were about to sit down too, and this man started saying that we were slackers, that we were taking advantage of the place by buying only 1 coffee for 3 people (there were absolutely no other customers in the place). As we were speaking in English, he started to insult us in Italian (2 out of 3 people spoke in Italian, so we understood). After that, I returned the coffee, and I let it fall a little on the balcony, then the same man started to insult us even more, saying that we should go back to our country and that I was rude. I will never go back to this place and I sincerely hope that this kind of situation does not happen to other foreigners. (updating in answer to the business comment): You can deny what happens, otherwise you can check your cameras and see what indeed happens. We are not earning anything coming here and giving you this bad feedback, but we would like to let other people know what happen to us, and let them judge by themselves. If the man was respectfully, we will do wherever he asked, but the point is that since the moment we arrived he was rude. We started to be treated very bad since the beginning without to do anything, so when we answered him in the same way, he was offended? I'm sorry, but for me, this is hypocrisies. It seems that the person who is answering was not there, so I just ask to hear both part of the story. We will be glad to do not come back again, for sure, but if it happens to us, it could happen to anyone else, and I'm really sorry to say that, but the only future that I saw for a business that is doing this king of think, it's to close.
The worst of my experiences in Milan. First, they didn’t allow my friend to stay inside because she wasn’t ordering. Then the bartenders attended me in a very rude way and we decided to give back the coffee. After this, we received racist comments like “go back to your countries”. I can’t believe this happened in a supposedly well reviewed place. I’m very disappointed and shocked. *Update in response to the Caffé: I think at this point you will say whatever is most convenient for your business, lying to people in this platform. The staff were rude since the beginning, specially the manager, which I understand his reasons for not allowing another brand inside (it was just one cup, nothing else), but is not an excuse to say bad words in Italian thinking we didn’t understand him. Also, even after this, I decided to order and pay for my coffee, leaving aside his bad behavior, going outside to take a seat, but this person continued cursing in Italian, even when my friend already finished their drink, telling them in a rude way to not be around the table with me. This made us very uncomfortable so we decided to give the coffee back. Anyways, NOTHING IS AN EXCUSE FOR A RACIST COMMENT. Congratulations for your staff and they way you treat your costumers.
Unfortunately, even stay for a coffee. Rude bartenders. There are better places around.
