Il Borgo Ferrera Milano Reviews
Spectacular meat! A go-to for my meat dinners in Milan. Friendly, helpful staff, quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and very fair prices.
I discovered this restaurant a few months ago and have been back several times. Simple, authentic Tuscan cuisine. Truly top-notch Florentine steak. A warm, family-friendly atmosphere and fair prices. I recommend it.
A place I've always seen from the outside but only recently tried. A great revelation! I'll definitely be returning.
Excellent food, friendly and courteous staff. Highly recommended!
Everything was delicious, a lovely place with both indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly and attentive waiters. Prices were fair. For starters, I recommend the antipasto del borgo to share. The pasta with steak ragù was delicious and filling. For those looking for a second course, I recommend the fillet steak in Chianti: tender and very flavorful. For dessert, I recommend the zabaglione and the soft chocolate cake.
Amazing pasta, I had the ragu and my husband the porcini, was absolutely delicious and super fresh. Service and staff were lovely and welcoming overall a great experience and we will be back for sure
E' la seconda volta nel giro di 20 giorni che vado in questo ristorante, il personale è sempre gentile e i piatti sono buoni, sia i primi che i secondi, ieri sera ad esempio abbiamo preso una fiorent…
I was searching on Google Maps for a truly traditional restaurant in the Naviglio Grande/Ludovico il Moro neighborhood, but I only found pizzerias or sandwich shops pretending to be restaurants. Then a flash of inspiration struck me: this place appeared, piquing my curiosity because it stood out from all the others for its traditional cuisine. Without hesitation, I headed to Via della Ferrera and discovered a corner of Tuscany that took me and my two companions back in time. The place is charming, not far from Milan's nightlife, but with a more relaxing feel, both outside in the covered garden and in the beautiful, spacious interior with wooden tables and wines everywhere. Even more exciting was the variety of dishes, which, without overwhelming the choice, gave full meaning to the "mood" of the place, offering typical Tuscan tastings, including mouth-watering meats and appetizers (like Colonnata lardo), as well as traditional first courses and side dishes. The service is very friendly yet professional, perfectly combining customer service with a healthy dose of empathy, creating an almost family-like atmosphere. The cuisine is excellent, showcasing the strong flavors of traditional Florentine cuisine throughout the various courses. I have a very small reservation about the lack of air conditioning, perhaps due to a malfunction (the restaurant is well-equipped), but overall it's very charming. I'm very disappointed not to have tried the cuts of meat (T-bone steak, tagliata, etc.) offered for two, and my companions (two "differently young" ladies) didn't want to give me that satisfaction. I swear I'll be back to try these dishes too, and I'll give it the last missing star...
Nice dining outside
It was a relaxing and great experience. It’s very romantic experience, simple but classy Italian restaurant. Staffs are quiet nice and kind. When it comes for the place it’s antique style and you can really feel that you are in Tuscany and taste the traditional food of Tuscany. When it comes for the foods it’s really good and delicious but I think that they may be do better for plate decorations. Atmosphere was the great one very relaxing and satisfying.
The place is cute, with pleasant decor and a welcoming atmosphere. We went for lunch, and a couple of degrees warmer wasn't a bad thing; it was a bit chilly, and eating while cold isn't fun. The bathroom was freezing. The Tuscan crostini and the erotic potatoes were delicious... The wine selection was good, and the prices were reasonable. We also had the Florentine steak, which I'm a big fan of and consider myself an expert on. The quality of the meat was decent, cooked just right, but it was a shame that it was very cold inside. When we pointed this out, the waiter simply said, "Sorry." So what? The wait was very long. Despite the place being at about half capacity, we waited over an hour for our dishes. In conclusion: would I go back? Maybe, but not in the winter. Would I order the Florentine steak? No. The other dishes were worth it, though.
Lunch for 4, August 30, 2020. Calamarata without calamari, just a few microscopic shrimps, served almost cold. Chianina beef tartare, I asked to season it myself. The ingredients were missing the egg, without asking if I wanted it, and above all, there was no Worcestershire sauce. Bruno Barbieri deserves a red card. The atmosphere is relaxed and even pleasant, except that one waitress (or owner) seems to have come from a funeral home, never a smile, a dickish face.
