Rovello Milano Reviews
This restaurant is, without a doubt, one of our absolute favorite dining spots in Milan! We recently visited and were reminded why it holds such a special place for us. The food is simply outstanding. The pasta is spectacular—truly the star of the show. Every dish tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly executed. If you're looking for the quintessential Italian pasta experience, this is the place to find it. Beyond the incredible cuisine, the service is warm, attentive, and highly professional. The staff makes you feel incredibly welcome from the moment you step inside. The ambiance is also wonderfully cozy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a relaxed meal or a special evening out. We highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting or living in Milan. We are already eagerly looking forward to our next visit!
We loved our dinner experience! Our reservation was at the counter, we enjoyed watching the kitchen prep. Our waitress was friendly and great, she offered great suggestions for wine and food. We got the Pinot Grigio which was delicious. They have a wine menu for bottles under 40€ which we appreciated. For appetizers, we got the tuna stuffed peppers and the raw bra sausage with focaccia. The tuna recommendation was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. For entrees, we got the cacio e pepe and the octopus. The cacio e pepe was so so good and the octopus was cooked to PERFECTION. For dessert, we got the tirimisu which we devours in two seconds. It was a great first meal in Milan we definitely enjoyed every single thing we got.
I guess the location of the place has changed now, we visited the restaurant when it was in Brera. We had dinner from here. The service was top notch, the 2 staff who were waiting on us were amazing, great suggestions and very polite and welcoming! While the menu was limited, we had their pasta, wine and dessert. Everything was top notch! Lovely Italian dinner experience it was. Also, they have a Michelin recommended bade in 2021 it seems, deservedly so! A little pricey you can say, but it was worth it. I would say the place deserved a larger outlet and better environment. Hence I believe they may have shifted into a larger outlet now.
I visited the restaurant in May last year. Even after a year, I still miss the delicious flavors from that time. Especially the Cacio e Pepe, the fresh octopus, tiramisu and zabaglione 😘 yes, every dish in the photos… Of course, the view there was absolutely stunning as well.😍 There may be many great restaurants in Milan waiting for me to discover, but I still want to go back and visit this one again.
What a fantastic dinner experience! And what a wonderfully orchestrated theatre sitting at the bar watching the chefs. Off to a good start with puntarelle and a glass of white, followed by peperoni tonnati and crocchette di baccalà. Seconding were guainca brasata and polpo, accompanied by red and whites respectively. Torta cinzia and tarta de queso for desserts. OK selection of wines by the glass. Great atmosphere and super service. Will definitely be back!
We were a group of 15 people, but the staffs were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The veal cutlet was superb. I could see that the local business men were using this place, and this usually means a good sign. I would definitely go back for my next trip in Milan.
We had a wonderful experience at Rovello Milan. We sat at the counter and watched the kitchen at work. It was like witnessing culinary art in motion. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, the service attentive, and every dish was beautifully crafted with authentic flavors. A truly memorable evening!
Amazing dinner experience. Food was delicious and dishes were curated according to the season. We sat in the bar, which allowed us to see how the staff prepared the dishes, a beautiful and entertaining scenery to accompany the meal. The only thing I would point out is that the portion is rather small for the price point. Besides that, the environment is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is kind and friendly. We ordered the linguine with the vongole and the pappardelle with the funghi porcini, along with a small snack as a starter and four bottles of water, spent €80. Would revisit for a special occasion. Very nice place.
An alright experience but consider that is nothing out of this world. The prices are on the higher side, together with the rest of the city but unfortunately the food did not meet the expectations. As mentioned in other comments, we were also sat on the counter with a reservation. Which is stated on the reservation. The service was alright, the waiters are nice and welcoming. The space is also modern, well kept and there is attention to detail. For example the water glasses are a beautiful twist. About the food, unfortunately I was not very impressed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s quality food but for the price and how they position themselves I think its not there. We were served stale bread which we asked to be replaced and they did. The pasta dishes were good but lacking some details. For example, I was not served or offered cheese with the ragu. On highlights, the zucchini flower is delicious and well prepared.
Having worked in hospitality for almost twenty years, I have a real soft spot for everything that makes a restaurant shine: great food, an open kitchen, friendly staff, a good bar, well-made cocktails, and a lovely wine list. We had a reservation at 14:00 and the experience began beautifully; relaxed, delicious, exactly the kind of place you want to linger. At 15:00, however, the kitchen was scrubbed down, which instantly shifted the atmosphere. Our wine glasses were left empty, we weren’t asked if we wanted dessert, and the feeling was simply that our presence was no longer welcome. When we went to pay, the person handling the bill, whom we assumed to be the manager, didn’t have the decency to look us in the face, remaining on the phone throughout. What could have been an exceptional lunch was diluted into a frustrating and dismissive experience in the last half hour.
