Oakhurst Diner Millerton Reviews
I go here regularly and they have never failed to amaze me. They have a wonderful wide range of foods and amazing service. They staff is so nice and never get my order wrong. The food comes out quick and tastes amazing!!! I highly recommend!!!
Ordered the burger with tater tots and both were delicious. What brought it over the top was my coffee milkshake. Yum! This restaurant is expensive ($25 for burger, tots and shake) but I think this is standard pricing for the community. I also want to commend the excellent staff and ambiance. Great diner feel with friendly locals.
Best ever French toast! Maple syrup is real & orange juice is freshly squeezed! Most definitely will be returning to try the dinner options for tacos.
We were on the way home after the Limerock historic and man this diner is amazing!!!! I got the Mom's Pho and it was so incredible, it made an already good day even better! Fresh cilantro, green onions, bean sprouts the works, I was so surprised by the quality from this diner!!! Loved it, wish I lived closer! The other people in my group got more standard options and also really enjoyed their food as well! Stay awesome Oakhurst Diner!
As a child visiting relatives in Millerton, we often drove by this cute little diner but we never got to eat here. Was in town and decided it to try it for breakfast. I ordered a green tea which was absolutely the best I have ever tasted, a glass of orange juice - it was hand squeezed and delicious. My breakfast order was pancakes with eggs and bacon. The syrup was delicious, the bacon was cooked as requested (extra crispy) and my server, Sydney, was fantastic! Highly recommend the Oakhurst Diner!
Arrived at lunch on a very busy Sunday. Sat at the counter. The staff was so fast and efficient. Food was very good. Pho broth had a hint of clove flavor in it. Not a fan of that in my Pho. Great place to stop while biking on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch outside with a colleague on a beautiful early Summer day. Our server was super attentive, and kind. I ordered the Harney iced tea and it very refreshing. The tuna melt was delicious, and the fries were on point. I ordered a side of their kimchi and it was super yummy, I even dipped my fries in the leftover jus. Keep up the awesome service!
Everything about this spot was great. A homey atmosphere with tasty, fresh, well-portioned and thoughtfully crafted food. Also super cute. Was so sweet to see the neighborhood pop in for everything from kids meals to a simple cup of tea.
Enjoyed a great meal there on Sunday afternoon. Food was excellent, as was the service. We had our small dog with us, so the outdoor seating was perfect. The waiter even brought out a bowl of water! Burger was great, meatloaf should not be missed. Ingredients were farm-to-table fresh. We will be back!
Super friendly service in adverse weather conditions. We ended up eating outside in ~30 degree weather and they made sure we had a heat lamp and gave us hot tea on the house. Our food came out quickly and was some of the best diner food I've had in a while. Highly recommend, please come out and support this local business!
This is my new favourite diner. I love diner food, but diner food tends not to love me. This was delicious and no stomach aches after. Price was very reasonable for the area. I love that it's right off the Harlem Valley Rail trail. My husband and I road our bikes from Copake to Millerton, stopped in here for lunch and road back. It will now be a must stop whenever we are in town.
Just a really great find. An old fashioned stand alone diner in a great little town. I’ve been there twice and had a really nice young girl server. She was very friendly and informative about local attractions.
Little buddy is awesome! The kale kind of scared me off but I tried it anyway at my second visit. It has some kind of like chorizo sausage with it bacon and like onions peppers green & red, and with the two over easy eggs on top and that thing was slamming and very filling! It was recommended by a customer but I didn't really pay too much attention as it was had been my first time there but second time through man so glad I tried it I've been there back a couple of times highly recommended Tasty and good for you was great service who could ask for more than that?
This is SUCH an awesome diner! I came here today with family, and we ate outdoors. It was cold, but the heat lamps were perfect. The food is superb! They have amazing fries, pho, and burgers. We come here every time we are upstate!
Amazing food! I can’t believe I can get Vietnamese rice soup in Oakhurst Diner! The service is very nice even they are busy. Definitely recommend it to go there.
Delicious traditional diner food with other interesting and unique options. Some interesting Asian undertones that make dining here a unique and exciting experience. Service is excellent as well. Truly a hidden gem, so glad to have found it on my drive through town.
We got there a little on the late side, probably after 7:30pm and they close at 8:00pm they sat us at a booth and informed us that the kitchen closes in 15 minutes so make sure you get your orders in. We knew what we wanted for the most part and ordered quickly. The service was great and so was the food, and at no point did we feel rushed and we made it out just before or at 8:00pm. Thanks for the great service.
Charming diner with an eclectic menu! I had the huevos rancheros - I am very curious about the pho on the menu so want to come back to try that.
What an amazing find in Millerton. The food is great and the menu is filled with surprises. For example, the Vietnamese pho is some of the best we’ve had. The patty melt with tater tots is a close second. We dine there weekly and each time we tell ourselves to try something new, we go right back to our favorites. We don’t know all the names but service is friendly, efficient and attentive. Jessica, Ash, Sidney & team - Thank You!
Fantastic breakfast! Abundant servings, fast service, friendly waitstaff! Not to be missed for an awesome breakfast.
Great local very HOMEY diner. Breakfast was superb. Very attentive staff. Highly recommend.
What a treat! Came to Millerton to stock up on tea at Harney and Sons and decided to grab breakfast. It's a small space, very classic-diner feel. Tight but not uncomfortable. Sat at the bar and was served quickly with smiling faces. Everyone here was very kind and very casual. Classic rock and folk played quietly while I ate. Coffee was perfect. Lovely way to start the day.
I would definitely recommend this place. The food is great and they also make you feel welcomed. I would like to shout out the waiter! He did an excellent job. He was kind and always taking care of us! We're definitely coming back again!
Amazing old style diner with modern and classic menu items. I had the Big Daddy which was great and filling. My wife had the Chorizo Migas- which was great and had a really nice green sauce on it. Coffee was also good and they had non-dairy milk options. Pricing was reasonable. Staff was very nice- highly recommend
The place is super comfortable, the food is super delicious, but what my family and I liked the most was Brandon's service. The only male waiter who was there at that time, He treated us very kindly, He always treated us with great respect and was always attentive to whatever we might need. I recommend the place 1000%.
My husband and I stopped by this diner to fill our bellies after riding our bikes on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. The staff was super friendly and food came out promptly. I had the best burger I've ever had here it was absolutely delicious. The beef was from a local farm which I will be looking up to find out how I can get said beef. I also liked their fries a lot. My husband got the French toast and didn't really care for it but the eggs and bacon were good he said. We will definitely stop by again and try some of their other menu items.
We had a wonderful meal here. I brought my dog and we sat outside. They brought her water without me having to even ask. I had the bahn mi sandwich with sweet potato fries and my son had a bacon burger with fresh cut fries. Food was delicious and the staff are wonderful. I used to go here when I was a young child and hadn't been here for decades. So glad we decided to stop.
Just a fabulous, authentic diner. It was busy, but we got waited on quickly, and our food came fast. Highly recommend.
Love the milkshakes and the spicy chicken sandwich! Wonderful staff. Ash plays great music too!
Solid breakfast spot at a great price. Pancakes and over easy eggs were well cooked. Bacon was very crispy and sausage patties were solid. Will come back when I'm in the area.
Great nostalgic diner in charming village menu is creative and prep’s with excellence. The dishes are creative and not necessarily expected but thoroughly enjoyed. We will stop in most every time through Millerton.
Long time patron of Oakhurst. It’s a really cute spot in the middle of Millerton where food options are limited. Absolutely love the manager Jess. She is always so sweet and treats me and my friends like her own. Staff are all friendly, the food is great (their pancakes are stellar) and the vibe is very local. Thanks guys for always making our breakfast, lunch or dinner a great experience. We love you Jess!
Becoming a tradition - we stop here on the way to taking our granddaughters to camp. Never disappoints - excellent food, friendly wait staff and always busy (no surprise there). Highly recommend if you’re in the Middleton NY area.
A cozy diner in a bustling little village. The pulled pork tacos I received were very good. Service was quick. Despite how popular it was, getting in was fast and easy. The atmosphere of the area really helped the overall experience as well. Bustling atmosphere of the small town really drove home the down home cooking
Food was great. Are outside. Clean and the food was great. Very much enjoyed my Caesar Salad. Solid choice!
Small dinner in the small town of Millerton NY, very relaxing atmosphere, good service and simply excellent food. I tried their special burger and it was great 👍
Many diner classics dishes, but with a twist of modern flavor. Very good. Nice town 👌
Good bang for the buck; delicious food at fair prices. Staff is helpful. About four beers on tap (the Suarez pilsener at a steep $10). Craft sauces from local franchises available at table. The Oakhurst offers mainly American fare, though there are some Asian items on the menu, like Pho (Vietnamese?). The diner specializes in milkshakes and ice cream. The tiled bathroom is clean (automated dispenser of paper towels), and the wi-fi is free. Plenty of parking out front in Railroad Plaza.
Omlet cooked to perfection. Hash browns, incredible. Great atmosphere and wonderful wait service. My wife had the French toast. It tasted like a Cinnabon!
What a menu! From homey pho to amazing omelettes, oakhurst always gets it right. We always remark about how eclectic the menu is despite the classic American diner feel. Come for the Bloody Mary’s, stay for the breakfast burritos.
My husband and I were driving the back roads to our destination because of a crash on the taconic. After so much tough driving, this place came up like an oasis in the desert. Cozy, retro vibes and the food came out fast and fresh. I like that the burger I got wasn't a huge monster like some diners do. That special sauce was really delicious. Shout out to the waitress with the fish tattoo, she's a gem. Glad we stopped by
The quintessential diner in a tiny town with not too many options. Had to wait and that was quick. Had a booth, but there were counter options. Old school swivel fixed to the floor. The menu was diverse with burgers, eggs, sandwiches, soup, salad and then add a Latin flare too. So good. We had a turkey club on rye and the chorizo Migas. Food came out in minutes. Pure diner vibe. Club was fresh Turkey, warm toasted rye and crispy bacon. The chorizo migas was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. The tortillas were flavorful while being layered and kind of crispy still. The eggs were fluffy and some salsa in the middle, of man. Clean, warm and inviting. The service was kind and prompt and the food was special. Fun ride, cute town. Try it.
Ordered the chorizo migas and Mama’s Pho for a late breakfast/early lunch and was so incredibly floored by the amazing flavors of both dishes, all coming from this unassuming little diner in honestly, the middle of nowhere where either cuisines probably just barely exist. Both dishes felt so homey and comforting, alongside our refreshing glasses of house made cold brew. Service was fine - our server was friendly, a little awkward and could’ve been more intuitive when it came to clearing our empty plates, but was kind and attentive, in comparison to other FOH staff who could’ve cracked a smile upon eye contact, at the very least. Will be dreaming of stopping here on our way back to visiting in CT, hopefully in the near future. Yum!
Sydney was the absolute best server. Was a bit busy Sunday around 11am, but there was a booth free and the host put a chair on the end to accommodate our group of 5. Unlimited drip coffee refills, cheap dishes, quick service. I’m vegan and Sydney helped direct me to my options and what could be modified. Ended up going with the avocado toast without egg and a breakfast scramble dish with sautéed veggies and hashbrowns (removing the cheese and eggs) to split between me and the other vegan in the group. They also had oat milk for coffee/tea drinks, so I got a delicious iced chai. Even though it was busy, service was super quick! They also have a delicious hot sauce made in town and you can buy bottles of it (we got two). Other folks in my group got the veggie omelet (vegetarian, huge portion for $10), eggs Benedict, side of pancakes, and corned beef hash (which they said was one of the best they’ve had). I’d definitely come back here! As a vegan, I rarely find diners I can eat at, but this was great. Sydney said there are even more veg options on the non-brunch menu.
This is our favorite breakfast place in and around the Hudson Valley bar none. The sun shines in the windows of this typical diner looking place. Silver 50's style - But the menu is far from typical. So many wonderful choices and everything we have ever ordered was delicious. The service is spot on and the prices are fine too. They have a lunch and dinner menu that looks great too but we always end up there for breakfast!
One of my favorite stops along my tri-state motorcycle ride, the Oakhurst Diner never disappoints. An eclectic menu including generous use of jalapenos, avacado, kale, cilantro, pinto & back beans, brown rice, edamame and much, much more. A thououghly modern take on a Diner, Oakhurst takes classics like eggs benedict, meatloaf, chili and wings and makes them thier own while offering new and unique dishes that excite your taste buds. From their Sandwich and a Side menu, one of my personal favorites, the flavorful, protein rich Patty Melt. A 1/4 lb of juicy beef, swiss cheese, grilled onions, mustard and Oakhurst's twist on Russian dressing between two slices of rye bread grilled to brown perfection. Bursting with flavor and melted goodness, you won't be disappointed with Oakhurst's twist on an American Classic! Oh yes, sides choices include; sweet potato or regular fries, mashed potatoes, tater tots, kimchi or my choice, a mixed greens salad. Great food and service, a truly diverse menu with something for everyone, coupled with al fresco dining and reasonable prices, what's not to love? Give them a try but remember, they're open Thursday through Monday only!! Update from Jul-3-2023 I tried the three pork tacos with black beans and white rice today. Tacos were of the soft shelf variety, served with the usual fixings, a delicious sweet yet spicy sauce that really made for a terrific lunch. They were quite filling and super tasty, I give them high marks for taste! Update May 25, 2024 Always something new and interesting at Oakhurst Diner! First time eating inside, booths are tight but cozy, counter seats are spacious and staff is always super friendly. Today, the lovely Jessica recommended I try the special dish pictured here with the avocado, a delicious jalapeno sauce with just the right amount of bite and sweetness. It has a Mexican name like conquitos? It was fantastic I can't remember all the ingredients but I believe it was served over refried beans? It was absolutely delicious and another taste bud sensation from Oakhurst diner! Got to check this place out very eclectic! Show the photo to Jessica and tell her CT Biker Joe sent you!
9.16.22 When I hear diner I envision and old, frumpy place that needs a face-lift. This place from the outside looked old. And the inside is a typical diner feel. But let me tell you. The service and food is amazing. The bacon was perfectly cooked, crisp. My over-mediun eggs were actually cooked right (not many master this). The rye bread was fresh with seeds. Yum. The coffee was hot and strong. I'm a foodie. I love new venues and I'm usually one-and-done. But this place is a must-repeat.
This diner is as classic as diners can get (from the decor to the menu) and I absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly and they make the dining experience very relaxed and pleasant. I particularly liked the classic thick coffee mugs and I should note that the coffee was spectacular (it's from a German coffee company called Wolfgang). I ordered the Big Daddy platter and would highly recommend it. My friend ordered the pancakes that include options of blueberry or chocolate chip. Everything was great about this diner and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area.
Cute place! Craft beer on tap and bar service were unexpected. Can buy Harney & Sons CBD iced tea cheaper here than direct from H&S location a block or so down the street. Decent looking menu, great Caesar salad but I only had that and a hot dog. Still good. Pickle was mediocre but didn't ruin it.
Classic US diner atmosphere. We felt like we were in a movie's important dialogue scene. Attentive and friendly staff. Good burgers. Fries were tasty though I wish there was more of that tasty seasoning on them.
My sandwich was great, the tater tots were crunchy and flavorful. As a hot sauce lover, I was surprised by how good this obscure sauce on the table was. The chocolate milkshake could've been a little thicker and richer, but nonetheless, a wonderful little gem in a tiny town.
Oakhurst has very yummy food. It’s a great spot and is pretty on the inside. It is a lot of fun to eat there. A tad bit expensive but not something I wouldn’t be willing to deal with since I don’t go all to often but I love it when I do go.
This Diner has good food, friendly service and a very comfortable casual atmosphere. I specifically appreciated their music selection which was mostly alternative rock, the volume was high enough to hear but did not overwhelm conversation. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because my friend ordered a corn dog which took around 45 minutes to be served and was still cold when it reached the table. That being said, if I lived in the vicinity of Millerton this would likely be a hangout spot for my friends and I. We definitely intend on visiting again when we are in the area.
Food came out fast and was pretty food. Standard diner fare. No complaints and the servers were incredibly nice.
Oakhurst Diner in Millerton, NY is a charming 1940s Silk City diner that blends nostalgic Americana with a modern twist. Its diverse menu ranges from breakfast burritos to meatloaf with mashed potatoes, with unexpected touches like Ma’s Pho and even sake. The chrome exterior and retro neon sign—with a few dimmed letters that show its age—set the tone for a warm, vintage-inspired interior. Having visited for over 35 years, we've always appreciated the consistent quality—even through changes in ownership. In 2010, Paul Harney and the Panzer brothers introduced a fusion of old-school Americana with unexpected international flair. By layering in Asian-inspired dishes alongside classic diner comfort foods, they created the distinctive signature that defines Oakhurst today. On this visit, weekend crowds made the service slower—a reminder of why we used to come only on weekdays when we lived in the area. Entering the diner can pose a trip hazard for those with mobility issues. Even so, the food remains as distinctive and satisfying as ever. Our hope is simply that the owners give the historic building the same care and attention they put into their cooking.
What a cute town!!!! This diner sits near the entrance of the main shopping street. We didn’t sit inside because the AC was on full-blast so we sat outside on the outside patio. There are trees for shade or you can move your chair to get sun. I got the pho but wish I didn’t. If you can’t get pho where your from it’s probably a good option but coming from a major city it really wasn’t the best. The broth is a bit bland and it just lacked that pizzazzz I get when I eat pho. It’s my fave soup on this planet. Boyfriend got a salad and poached egg and toast and it looked amazing. Would have been a great spot for a cocktail too but we were having breakfast. Next time I’ll do their homemade bloody Maria. Oh the inside of the diner is cute and traditional.
This diner is definitely popular with locals! We waited a few minutes for a booth instead of sitting at the counter with a toddler. My husband ordered the burger, which was surprisingly small. (He ate it in 5 bites.) We liked the sweet potato fries though. I got the dumplings and spring rolls and they were good. For our toddler, we ordered French toast with scrambled eggs and ham. We didn't have leftovers, so it was pretty good overall, but probably smaller servings than expected.
The Pho and Dumplings were 5 star. This place is worth the trip just for that. however I was a little bit disappointed by my $18 burger. It was really nothing special. they did cook it to temperature, but still felt more like a greasy spoon burger. should have been $12. I love an expensive burger, but this place didn't quite earn it. The menu overall is a step up from a typical diner. ingredients are clean, there's some more variety on the menu as well. We like it a lot and we would go back. It's fantastic for kids too.
Seated promptly around 10:45am, but one of 2 remaining booths. Most of our party ordered breakfast, which they said was delicious, Eggs cooked exactly as ordered. I ordered the quinoa salad with grilled chicken atop. I feel like one of the marks of a good restaurant is serving fresh lettuce in salads, with no funky pieces. Oakhurst passed the test with flying colors. Salad was fresh and dressing was delicious. Ambience was good, only complaint is that the tables are anchored to the wall with giant metal poles, and the booths are positioned closely enough to the tables that if you have even semi-long legs (I'm 5'6" with long legs) that your knees and shins will be braced and forced up against the metal for the duration of the meal and you can't stretch out. That said, tasty meal, fast & friendly service and easy location. Would absolutely recommend.
Good value given the price point. Staff efficient. Free wi-fi. Menu mostly American fare but some items are Asian Fusion (or maybe specifically Vietnamese/Thai). Malted milkshakes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and Oreo. Four local microbrews on tap. Locally created sauces at table for customers’ use. Bathrooms clean, and parking ample in Millerton’s adjacent Rail Plaza.
Amazing food and waiters!!! But they need curtains. Desperately. It's very sunny in the morning when you eat there and if you have black hair it will absorb the sun and you will get uncomfortably hot and won't be able to enjoy your food. But the food is still great either way. I recommend. Also, there are wasps outside.
Really cute! My husband and I chose to sit at the counter because of a long wait for a table. We each had a bloody mary that wasn't as spicy as I like but did the trick. We weren't insanely hungry so he had a double egg sandwich with ham and cheese and I had 2 poached eggs with hash browns and an English muffin. My husband loved his sandwich and my eggs were perfectly runny and poached. The hash browns and English muffin were a little extra crispy but not inedible. Cute little diner but wouldn't go out of my way to stop again. (Maybe only to try the pho that I saw other diners enjoying!)
I ordered a turkey club samdwich. Sandwich was OK other than old mushy lettuce. I wish I could post a photo.
We've had lunch here before, but last Sunday was a real bummer. The chicken lemongrass dumplings had a lovely crispness, but the interior was tasteless. All that changed when I dipped the first into the "sauce," which was merely high octane jet fuel. (Without exaggeration, my sinus cavities felt injured after one bite, and they continued to feel swollen for 24 hours. The waitress joked, "Oh, I should have warned you that it has a kick.") I felt punked, it was so bad. I like "kick," but not a kick in the face. The wonton soup was merely wontons in water, sprinkled with scallions that they didn't bother to slice all the way through, so I had long strips of scallion accordions. My husband thought his tuna melt was fine. We were not offered anything after our plates were set down, and we had to ask for the check from the three workers just chatting with one another. When we did have their attention, they were courteous and prompt.
Sat down with my family for dinner. The burger caught my eye, so i asked if it was cooked to spec. The enthusiastic server answered yes. I ordered it medium rare, which i always do, it came back cooked well-done... it was dry as rubber. Server comes back, i remind her that i ordered a medium rare and it came well done, she says I'm the 3rd person to return their burger, she'll get me another. 20 minutes pass by, everyone at the table is done eating, i ask the server where the burger is, she said there were other orders before mine!! A returned item! She asked if she should put a rush on it, i said yes please, and stated that if it were to take more than 10 minutes that i didn't want it. Sure enough, 10 minutes later, here comes the burger, "i told him to just cook it rare", she says, it really was a step beyond tartar... luckily, i didn't mind. Check time, and the server says, " your total is x, and i didn't charge you for the extra burger" Extra burger? Did she forget that i returned the first one? One of my family members really enjoyed the pho, the macro plate was dull.
I walked in with my service animal, whom I hold because of my disability, and was told “no dogs allowed.” I explained that he is a service animal. After I sat down, the owner loudly mocked me within earshot, saying, “Yeah, I walk around holding my service animal too.” When he came to take my order, I showed him a letter from my psychologist confirming my service animal. Instead of apologizing, he told me I could leave. I didn’t, because I was legally allowed to be there. The food was great, but the owner was rude, condescending, and openly disrespectful toward someone with a disability. Completely unacceptable behavior
OK, I am going to start this review with the caveat that I am originally from Queens and Long Island, New York where we have the best diners in the world. So I’m grading this on what I call the “upstate New York curve”. I know that sounds snobby, but you would understand if you’ve ever been to a diner in Queens. This diner would be a one star down there (probably out of business), but I’ll tell you my honest experience this morning: PRO: it is super cool looking, inside and out. Right out of a 1950s movie. And it was busy inside, but I was able to get the seat at the counter right away. When the check came it was pretty reasonably priced. And the bathroom was pretty clean, given it was a Sunday and it was busy. Unfortunately, that’s about it for the pro column. CONS: when I came into the place, I was not greeted by anyone, even though there was a person standing right behind the register. And even though the place was busy, there was an apathetic 20-something girl just standing behind the counter, not doing anything. “Can I sit at the counter?” “Sure, go for it”. No menu brought to me, no water nothing. Sat at the counter for about 10 minutes (an eternity in diner time) before anyone even acknowledged me. Finally, a sort of friendly dude took my order, got the most basic thing you can get, three scrambled eggs, bacon, rye toast, hashbrowns. Food came out within 10 minutes, which is not bad, but it was lukewarm, and the bacon was actually room temperature. Not sure how that happens but it did. This made it so that when I spread the butter on the toast (One huge slice, not cut in half just thrown on the top of the eggs), it didn’t even melt. Eggs – MEH. Bacon – crunchy but cold. Hashbrowns – burnt, left a taste in my mouth. Coffee - ug. Even cream and a Splenda, which I don’t even use usually, couldn’t help it. Anyways, I wanted to like this place and I’m not sure what else you’re going to find around here. So if you’re in a pinch, I guess stop here? But I won’t come back again.
Stopped in for a quick bite while waiting on CVS... no almond milk or spring rolls available ... had the edamame dumplings greasy and warm on the outside, mouth burning on the inside, not much filling and not much taste ( probably microwaved) cucumber salad in big slices and small slices with the bitter skin on and seeds left in swimming in a big scoop of gross industrial sauce. Every time the door swings open to the kitchen blasting music, tea served in smallish mugs with giant Harney's tea bag not properly filled to the top so once you take the bag out there is barely 2/3 of a cup of tea. Waitress was nice and gave me a discount but will not go back.
We had a lovely time. The food is great, the variety is very yummy. However, we have to leave one star as my companion is allergic to wasps. If you have enough time to make a handmade sign warning about the "bees" (they were not bees they were wasps) then you have enough to time to contact a wasp removal service. I got stung. Luckily for you, my friend did not. As she could have died. There was a cup nearby the entrance that had dozens of wasps congregating. This is highly irresponsible. We will not visit again until we can be sure that we can enjoy our meal wasp free. This is a liability.
Went to this diner with my aunt and as we were waiting to talk to someone about getting a table, my aunt decided to pick up a menu to start looking at what to order and the menu in her hand was snatched from her by the hostess with short dark hair and tats. She nastily told her that she was reserving the seats and needed those menus back. When my aunt said she would just like to look at a menu she again was very nasty and said the wait was over 45 minutes. We gave them our name and phone number if seats became available but did not feel welcome in this establishment and went somewhere else. It’s one thing to say excuse me ma’m, I am reserving those seats and need those menus and offer another menu than to snatch the menu out of my aunts hands… I would never go back here again. It was made clear enough that we were not welcome. I would give 0 stars if I could. It’s a shame as the restaurant drew me in and looked very cute!! If only their staff knew how to treat people…
This experience went from bad to worse. First, I was given a glass of water and the glass was disgustingly filthy and had lipstick all over it. When I asked for a new glass the waitress gave me attitude and then brought me a plastic cup of water. I wish I was kidding. Then I ordered the crispy chicken salad but the chicken on top was some kind of over processed chicken by product that was so gross I couldn’t eat it. I also had to ask three different people for honey for my tea. The first two looked at me like I had two heads and just walked away. And as I sat at the counter I was looking around the restaurant and it was so dirty I was shocked. I wanted to get up and leave but I had already ordered. And lastly, the wait staff, instead of maybe taking care of their customers or perhaps even cleaning up a bit, all stand around talking in front of the kitchen door. It’s too bad cuz it could be a really cute place if they made some improvements.
Two bratty young girl staff whispered about me repeatedly, making faces. Truly an uncomfortable and rude experience. Then the food came out and it was not something a restaurant should be serving. Watery, salty potato and leek soup was likely instant potato and salt, no leek. And 3 gross edemame dumplings that could not have been less fresh. I took one bite and two soup spoonsful and realized that I would be better off not eating. I still paid for my hardly touched "food". What is going on here?
