Fosters Freeze Milpitas Reviews
Best dip icecream I like their old fashion hamburger their milkshakes are one of the best pineapple is good employees are very nice at this location and friendly I been coming here long time
A nice little burger shop around the corner. I am always impressed by the very polite manager who will give you receipt with both hands. I like the big boss burger here.
The best hot fudge sundaes ever! Corndogs & fresh banana shake recommend! The burgers are good too, but the ice cream is to die for!Easy parking. Busy but quick service.
I discovered this place a few months back. It is a great hole in the wall. Everything I have tried I really enjoyed but what keeps me coming back is the ice cream. Their ice cream beats Sonic, Cold Stone basically any place you can think of. Their Ice Cream is amazing.
If you are in the area and want to help local businesses, this is a great fast food place! The hamburgers are soft, not that salty and very filling! And most important, tasty... Ugh, I got happily stuffed the other day when I came to this place 😁
Had the double decker with a peach shake. Best burger I've had in this area and the shake had a good balance of flavor. I will definitely be returning and taking my work crew for lunch here some day
My family and I love this place! This Fosters Freeze is always on point. The man who works there is always nice. He and his crew usually make our food to our liking. I prefer this Fosters Freeze over Campbell location (near Union Ave) ANY time! Plus... I love their Fosters Freeze Blue Sweatshirts. AWESOME Idea. Keep up the good work and we will keep coming back! Sorry, no pics cuz we were too excited to eat our goodies!🍔🍟🌭🍦🥤
Frosty Freeze is Frosty Freeze - every time I go there I remember going to the one on LIghthouse Ave in Monterey with my Dad... Still tastes as good as it did 70 years ago (I couldn't say Foster's when I was five...) and it's so wonderful that Foster's is still around to make people happy and create memories. Yummy all-American food at a reasonable price. Ain't fancy but always good.
Well managed Fosters Freeze, meaning one of the few places where you can get old fashioned and tasty burgers, crinkle fries and malt shakes.
Great old fashioned soft serve just like when I was a kid. Ordered the 1/2 chocolate 1/2 vanilla on a cone. Great customer service. Outdoor and indoor seating area. Definitely coming back to this place. They also serve burgers, fries, fried zucchini, fried mushroom. Etc, Fast food.
I've been coming here since I was a kid and the same family still owns and operates it! They're friendly and make sure your order is correct. You do have to wait a bit for your food, but well worth the wait for freshness! Very hometown feeling!
Local family owned, good service and a menu for big appetites. Chili dogs, Double bacon, cheese burgers with everything including onion rings under your bun, tasy shakes, cheese covered french fries ... don't come here if you are on a diet. Consistently a good place for good old fashioned American fare. If you haven't visited a Fosters Freeze in a long time, or ever, and the idea intrigues you, this is the one you need to get to. The family and employees here care about the food they serve, they double check your order before preparing and when they hand it to you. Always asking if you need anything, napkins, ketchup etc... and they pack it up for to go orders with careful attention.
Oh man I haven't eaten at Foster freeze in a long time . Our Foster freeze was closed a few years ago. I wanted a banana shake and the 1st place i thought of was Foster freeze. Next time I will ask them to make it extra thick because I live like 20-30 min away and it started to melt. My husband order a triple burger he said it was just missing the onions which was an easy fix. All in all we will do it again soon.
Great food everything was very fresh, owner or manager super friendly. Fries were cooked to perfection in my mind. Nice and golden brown and crispy but still soft in the inside. Looking forward to going back again and trying other menu items
Not a day goes by when I am not thinking about my favorite soft serve from Fosters. The staff are friendly. I never miss the good old vanilla soft serve when I pass by Milpitas.
It looks like a mom and pop / Asian family own this particular franchise location. I liked my cheeseburger here. Their vanilla ice cream soft serve is very good.
Well run and friendly. Same classic soft serve ice cream and entrees. I like keeping small businesses alive during these times. There's a line around the block for In and Out when they could stop here and be on their way in minutes. I'm glad I did!
The place might look small.. but I would say it's compact.. I have tasted many soft serves and icecream sundaes.. this is one of the best places to try.. icecream is smooth and creamy. A nice place to sit outside enjoy weather and icecream together. Rain may be hindrance but not much.
Best burger place around. No competition. Spicy chicken and the big boss are awesome. The fries are delicious bot the regular and waffle fries.
Great food and service at an old fashioned favorite!! I used to work here myself as a teenager for a few years and I love coming back for my favorite treats and burgers. Come on over to a Milpitas for an awesome experience.
My husband and I absolutely love food here. Feels extremely authentic and fresh! The quality is great and the food just melts in the mouth. I enjoy the crispy chicken burger and the banana smoothies a lot! ✌
Not a review but personal note to track what items I already tasted here. Mar 27 2024 Hot Fudge Milkshake: Thick and tasty(Not hot!), Too much sweet for me -> 4/5 Caramel Marble Fudge: Good, liked it but too much sweet -> 4/5
Always a great time. Good food with the family and delicious treats for dessert
Oh my God I just love coming here to get a cone. There fries are the best in town. And there burgers are fresh. It reminds me of my grandparents and back In the days they would bring us here as kids. Good memories.
Everytime i visit california i go a few times to the place that ruled my childhood. The owner is so awesome and friendly. they have hoodies to bring home!! I bought one with the cute little ice cream dude on it!!!! get a deep fried burrito!! eat all the shakes! nothing is gross... its all good!!!
The kids and I love coming to this nostalgic place. It's a very popular and busy place. From my experience early evening hours are the.most crowded. Don't plan to eat here if you're trying to cut calories. The burgers, fries, shakes and soft serve ice cream are the best!! The owner and staff are very friendly.
My wife and I have been long time customers since the mid-1990s, and love this Foster Freeze more and more every time we visit. My favorite food is the grilled ham and cheese with a large fry and a large Pepsi. My wife's favorite food is the fish fillet burger (it used to called a Whaler many years ago) with a small fries and a large Pepsi.
This fosters freeze has character. The owner owns this location for over nine years and welcomes every customer with a big smile. You can tell he is really dedicated to what he does - cares about great customer service and food quality. The burgers are old school and so the 1960s style walk up counters. They also have indoor seating and counters to order but you really want to park right outside and walk up to order. Things are clean and safe here. Usually it takes a bit for the food to come out but I take this as a good sign as they make the burgers fresh and with love. It's also worth to try their soft serve. It's not too sweet and simply delicious. Great place and great way to support a local business.
Have been going here for many years, bringing my sons, and now granddaughters!
If you like real, old fashion thick soft serve then this the place for you. There are two that are pretty close together, but they might as well be different businesses. This one is priced fairly and of the highest quality soft serve (they have a ton more desserts and food, but I'm a soft serve guy). The other one, in San Jose, is literally twice the price but half the quality. Now that I work in the area, I'm going to be going back again and again.
I love this place. The food is always hot and fresh. You can tell its locally owned, also the owners are so kind. It's a must everytime I'm visiting Nana (my grandma) she loves there hot dogs. It Reminds me of the days my dad use to bring me as a kid. I'm glad they are still in business
Foster freeze is a great nostalgic experience with great food. They had a wide range of option from the burgers, fries, zucchini fries, banana split and blizzard. Everyone inside had their mask and gloves on. All customers respected the same with a small outdoor area. It was great to see both community and business be respectful of one another while delivering great food. Even better, my 4 year old twin boys gobbled up the food.
Delicious food. I suggest trying the fish sandwich...Really tasty. Good prices...They are very friendly too... Of course the soft-serve is amazing as well
These guys are great. They take special care on each order and they're thorough so things are rarely, if ever, missing or messed up. They're great with covid regulations too, and value customers' and workers' safety. Parking lot has much to be desired but that's the Bay area for you, can't blame them for that. Highly recommend
I finally found a Fosters Feeeze that has a working chocolate soft serve machine!!! Yummy!!
You can never go wrong with Foster Freeze. The food is always fresh and delicious. The best corn dogs and soft serve in the area. Seating is minimal however the food and service makes up for it.
Fosters is one of the last remaining old school drive up restaurants in the bay area, and I've been going there since I was a kid the 80's. As far as I know, the same family has been running it the entire time. Everyone who works there is friendly and efficient, even when they're slammed. Expect a little bit of a wait because they make everything as it's ordered. The food is exactly the kind of 50's car hop style grilled and deep fried goodness you would hope for. The extensive menu has something for everyone, including vegetarian options. The meat is tasty and the fried items are perfectly crispy every time. If you're looking for dessert treats, there are enough soft serve ice cream and shake/malt options to make your head spin! I highly recommend the deep fried burritos, chili dog, and for dessert, a triple berry malt, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Delicious waffle fries + strawberry sundae 😋 Friendly staff & cozy vibes. Love this place!
This Fosters Freeze in Milpitas is my favorite place for burgers, fries, & desserts since I was a kid. I’m vegetarian & get the garden burger, crinkle fries & a peanut butter milkshake. Dude the best fries it’s so hard to find crinkle fries. All hella good. The staff is always friendly. Cool place to hang out and eat. Much respect and appreciation to everyone who works here; you make the place look great, the food taste delicious, and make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I have Good Times at this restaurant!
Fosters Freeze is so nostalgic and I’m so happy they are still open! I usually get their chocolate dipped cone and their chocolate malted shake. The cashier and their service is always pleasant and welcoming. Fosters Freeze is a staple in San Jose and if you haven’t been, go this summer!
I drive farther just to come to this location. The owner is such a sweetheart! The food is so good, especially the deep fried burritos and banana shakes.
Recommend this place if you want a delicious ice cream 10/10
Our family LOVE fosters. They are always friendly and fast. We always go here for our soft-serve fix! I love the half-and-half cones and the milkshakes are also delicious. It is definitely worth going here and the prices aren't too expensive either :)
Enjoyed a cheeseburger and fries. The Oreo twister was a little sweet for my taste but my nephew and I loved the chocolate dipped cone. The employees were very nice. Love to support a smaller business.
This is a great true old Americana place that serves great burgers, milk shakes, and icecream at a very affordable price. The old fashioned burger and chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream is a favorite for all of us in the family!
If you're into old school burgers, fries, shakes and a whole lot more you'll really want to visit this drive up Foster's. It's run by people who care and have personality, which is really the key at any business. The staff gets an A+ grade, The food, another A+ grade, was fantastic. Made to order at time of order is the best. I had a special order burger and fries. The burger wasn't too greasy and very tasty. The fries were fresh with just the right amount of crisp. I hate soggy or undercooked fries which I frequently I've experienced at other fast food places. And my favorite beverage to wash all that down is their Pepsi Freeze. Oh ya, the bathroom was clean, really clean. My girlfriend and I will be back.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Staff was very helpful in assisting us order as it was out first time here. Old school nostalgia feeling for me and it brought me back to my childhood. Kids liked looking at the food and drinks being prepared. Really can't stop complimenting the staff, had the location clean and they definitely liked their jobs as they were joking amongst themselves and with us. Burgers, shakes and ice cream were all on point. Highly recommended and will definitely stop in again when we are back in your beautiful city. Thank you once again!!
Love it. Staff is so nice, the manager is awesome. Food is exactly what you want from a walk up burger place. I wish they would open their lobby again for seating.
I love this spot! I have become addicted to this place. I had a craving for some ice cream one day and they had me at "Hello, how can I help you?" With their fast and friendy service and everything I order coming out fantastic, they had me hooked. The service is super friendly and outgoing and they make you feel right at home. Thank you Foster Freeze I can't wait for another craving.
Love their rootbeer float! Place is great, pretty clean, and has amazing food. A classic fast food restaurant. Burgers are great, reasonable thickness on the patty. Chicken tenders are also great. Fries are good too. The staff is super friendly as well. Super good, old school, classic ice cream and food! A MUST visit!
Very nice place. My kids and niece and nephew love going there. There fish and chips also very good.
this Fosters Freeze is sooooo good ! Good Food . Friendly staff. My family and I love coming here to enjoy a delicious meal and yummy ice cream. Five Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great tasting Burgers 😋 love the fries, just starting to get a bit expensive though 🫰😔.
Love the food and the ice cream is delicious. The workers are really nice too.
My cousin was craving a soft serve ice cream. We both ordered vanilla. I had my turned over into a cup. Hands down one of the best I've had.
great ice cream and has multiple options to choose from, also gives great food
Nice old school eatery . Very friendly and kind staff they recently remodel the inside with nice xmass lil houses. Service is great! Food is american old school .
Can't go wrong with Foster's Freeze. I come for the fish sandwich n Ice Cream. One of very few locations, it never disappoints.
I just had an old-fashioned burger and fries. that was the best burger and fries I’ve had a long time. I was really surprised that foster freeze still had some restaurants open. Thank you guys for the great service and the great food.
The old school experience of a traditional 90s burger joint. The quality of the food is S tier it’s always served fresh and done in a presentable manner. The milkshakes & icecream are thier specialty and it’s the best I ever had in my life.
Great old fashioned drive up joint. I had the combo #1 which is a cheeseburger with bacon and onion rings on it and it was delicious! They have perfectly fried golden crinkle cut french fries to go with it. I also highly recommend the milkshakes! I had a chocolate & peanut butter milkshake that was perfectly balanced. Not too thick so you can't use a straw but just enough that it isn't runny and the flavor was awesome. I would absolutely visit here again!
Been craving for Dairy Queen and what do you know, there’s a similar store that sells blizzards! Went here with the fam and was not disappointed! The staff were super friendly and fast! Got our fosters freeze in minutes! Also did the flip test and it passed. The ice cream was thick, creamy, and full of toppings. Also affordable!
Fosters Freeze is a really nostalgic feeling kind of burger restaurant. It's got a sort of classic American drive-in vibe to it that is kinda fun. Unfortunately, the building is a bit worn down. Definitely seen better days. That said, the burger was very solid, and the milkshakes are killer. Tons of great flavors, and they even blend in real fruit. Well worth the tiny bit more money to upgrade a combo to have a milkshake.
This Fosters Freeze has character! To the mural outside to the long awning outside, to the outside counter or the dining room, to those PT Cruisers pictures hanging out back, and the friendly cashier who happens to own the place! Fosters Freezes menu is similar to something like Dairy Queen, really good Ice Cream and the like to Burgers and my favorite, fish sandwiches! The fish sandwich tasted fresh with cooked buns and a really well made fried fish fillet along with a special sause and lettuce and tomatoes that were fresh! Many Foster Freezes are locally owned so you can support locally!
While visiting the San Francisco Bay Area we found this hidden gem and couldn’t get enough of their burgers and shakes! I have to say this is the best food anywhere in CA! We went 3 times in 1 week!! The owner is a very sweet man and the staff are so welcoming! I wish I could take this place back home east with us! Not to mention on the first night we got in from the airport late and we were starving! They close at 9 pm and we were there literally at 8:59 and they were happy to take our order! Not really anybody has that kind of customer service anywhere these days!
Clean, but a little slow on filing orders. They would go out of their way to complete any orders that were just dessert before any that had food. So it took a while to just get some chili fries. But it was hot and made correctly once I got it.
The ice cream is always the best!! You can really get whatever you want, a Banana Split, Sundae, Parfait, Twister, Milkshake or a cone dipped in chocolate. But stick with the dessert, because the burger wasn't that great, I got a number 2 which was a single with fries and a drink and you spend more here than if you were to go to In & Out. Next time I will get a burger from In & Out, and a Banana Split from here.
Love the shakes.. had a berry one.. most excellent.. onion rings were awesome and the fish and chips were cooked just right
Nice substitute for soft serve ice cream if not near a Dairy Queen location. Old skool vibes here which I kinda like.
I was disappointed they did not have Strawberry Cheesecake soft-serve I saw advertised with their address in Milpitas. The man who took my order said he wasn't ordering it and only had vanilla or chocolate soft-serve. I went there especially because of the ad I saw. Majorly disappointed!!
The burgers are ok but I love the crinkle cut fries and all the ice cream selections are great. My husband loves the banana chocolate chip milkshake and I love the hot fudge sundae.
We really liked the hit fudge sundae. The fish and chips was tasty even though the fish was cut very thin. We had ordered waffle fries too. They fired the fries as a lump, when we tried to separate the pieces, we realized the center part was not cooked at all. Almost half the order was wasted because of it
Classic drive-in style burger joint that's family owned. Foster freeze is the place to be if you're craving for that nostalgic taste of classics, such as burgers, fries, and shakes! They have a decently sized menu as well! I always stick to the classic combos though. Make sure to get the big boss with waffle fries!
Went for some ice-cream with my daughter and grandsons. Placed our order and within a reasonable amount of time we picked up our order. They do have wheelchair access, there is parking and a ramp by the door. There is another ramp at the other end of the patio also. It is a popular place as there others coming and going.
It was very hot so ice cream was it,ordered 2 chocolate shakes and 1 with strawberries added. Disappointed they must have put 1 slice of strawberry in it because I only found about 5 little pieces in it and no combo of flavors. I will give credit about fast service no waiting for the people who were waiting for there order.🙂🙃
Great place for getting some refreshing snacks. Tried their cone with chocolate dipped, very silky smooth ice cream. Big boss burger surprisingly tasted great with lots of flavor, but it looks much smaller than picture on the AD. TEXAS burger is very heavy in weight and tasted great too.
Been coming here for decades and very happy with the consistent quality food that I can get here. My family loves their fries and I'm partial to their onion rings. Now I don't partake in any sweets but my family still enjoys their selection. Can't go wrong with a burger, fries and a shake. Really takes me back to when I was a kid. My only issue with this location is that their dining room is still closed. Lost a star from me for that sold reason.
This is an old fashioned place to eat. The burgers and fries are very good. Everyone talks about the McDonald's french fries how good they are, but in my opinion, I think Fosters has better tasting fries. Fosters is almost like a "forgotten place" to eat. Which has good food. And it is a much tastier place for burgers and fries. Plus they have the old fashioned desserts like shakes, sundaes, and banana splits that the other burger chains don't have.
Great experience. We came to try chocolate brownie fudge but they ran out of brownies so ordered Oreo fudge. The taste was great - not too sweet! The place is pretty old fashioned so it’s a different feeling! Will be coming here more often to try their other items.
Old school ice cream, sundaes, hot dogs and burger place. I’d say the quality is average, but I still like the place for its nostalgia.
Got a fish sandwhich and strawberry milk shake (small). Burger was good. Not enough fish. Shake was decent. Paid $13.76. Bit too pricey for the portion size.
An excellent spot to satisfy your sweet tooth (among other delicacies), we came here on a sweltering Saturday afternoon and fosters freeze did just the trick with their rich and sweet banana split. They also have sundaes, cones, parfaits, shakes, but don't be fooled by the sizes, they pack a ton of calories. Parking and seating isn't the best but still recommend this place for dessert at least.
Got a hot dog and strawberry shake. Asked them to add a banana to the shake and it seemed like a big ordeal. The shake was not that good. Seems Foster's doesn't realize others allow virtually limitless additions/modifications to shakes/smoothies...shouldn't be a big deal.
The milkshakes and cones taste okay. They don't taste the best, but they don't taste the worst. They got our order wrong, as I ordered two ice cream cones, and they gave us three. Don't know if I'll be coming back...
Pretty good. Sometimes misses items ordered. But good enough. Food is good, lots to choose from. Burgers and shakes are their money makers and the best they offer. Prices are reasonable. They don't have coffee!
This place is likely considerable as quite run down but the ice cream options were good and the burgers were better than expected. Still, don't order the fish and chips if you can help it. That was quite mediocre.
Loved my pastrami sandwich! It was on a small roll with pickles and mustard. Just the right amount of meat to bread ratio and the meat was perfectly cooked. I was a bit disappointed with my Snickers Twister. The ice cream was fine, your standard vanilla, which is one od my favorites. But the candy bar bits were a little old. They were very chewy and stuck to my teeth. The fresh taste wasn't quite there. Nice little parking lot. Good location, being right off the main thoroughfare, it is excellent for commuters and locals alike.
Disappointed they do not participate in the week long promotion advertised on Facebook. Monday is small double classic combo. Not sure why it was not honored when the ad on Facebook clearly lists this 78 Serra way Milpitas location.
I got sick. Thank God for kaopectate. I thought it was good initially when I first started going there. But those days must have been good days. The shakes have a bad aftertaste. The help is rude. They don't maintain the shopkeepers attitude. They make a lot of order mistakes. I noticed that many people on the reviews state that the place isn't clean. They're right, obviously. If you want an ice cream go to Baskin-Robbins. If you want Americana take a picture.
