Kura Sushi Modesto Reviews
Kurra Sushi: Great Vibe, Better Fish Kurra Sushi is solid. The charred mackerel and the salmon and tuna sushis are outstanding-seriously the best things we had. The Kurra rolls were good, too, and the warabimochi was a nice touch. I'd skip the meat sushis; they were just okay can be better but that's just for me. Definitely make a reservation, because the place gets busy. The atmosphere is nice and clean. But overall, the food is great and the vibe is cool enough that I'd recommend it. 3 stars for service cause the robot didn't give us our drinks lol had to follow up on the waiter.
Really great experience! I have never been to a restaurant like this before, so I was very excited to try it. It exceeded my expectations! Staff was super friendly and greated you as you came in and as you left. The ordering tablets was neat and the robot that brought you your drinks was cool! The taiyaki was amazing. 100% would go again.
Early dinner with my husband and the was not much selection on the revolving belt. We did order through the screen and it comes down another belt above the revolving belt. It will notify you when it's on its way. So much to choose from! There was a robot that delivered our drinks too! That was so cute!

I don't eat raw fish. But such a cute concept. I decided to try at soft opening was peaceful for me but employees first day. They were to cute. Offering us refills and taking our trash every 3 to 5 minutes. Then I returned to the grand opening and there was even more options with cooked and fried foods for me. It was a little crazier with a long line an all the reservations. But even thoe a little hectic at first. The employees kept theyr calm and were very sweet. I got a cool t-shirt and totebag free that was an extra. I'd go again. Fun eating for sure.
This place is great. The sushi is very good and I feel like you get your bang for your buck. You are served by robots which is great but you also have a person if you need the help. I will definitely be back here again and again amd again.
Kura Revolving Sushi in Modesto is amazing! Great prices, super fresh sushi, and such a fun experience. The revolving belt is awesome, and a robot even brings your food to the table. Easily the best sushi spot in town — highly recommend!
10/10 Experience, 6/10 Food (For Non-Sushi Eaters!) I need to start this review with a disclaimer: I am absolutely not the target audience for a sushi restaurant, as I don't eat seafood or sushi. However, I highly recommend visiting this place at least once for the sheer experience—which was a perfect 10/10! The Unforgettable Experience This was our first time, and my kids absolutely loved it. The conveyor belt system is incredibly fun, but the reward structure is what makes it unique. We earned a fun keychain after eating a certain number of white plates, and the competitive fun of collecting 35 plates kept everyone entertained. The atmosphere is excellent—the entire restaurant is very clean, and the staff were wonderful and attentive. (I even heard the bathrooms have a bidet, which is a nice touch!). Overall, the novel experience and the quality of the service were outstanding. A Non-Seafood Food Critique Since I avoided the sushi, my critique is solely based on the limited non-seafood offerings. We sampled: • Beef Noodles • Steak over rice with sauce • Chicken dumplings • Fries • Watermelon, ice cream, and cheesecake The food was undeniably fresh and tasted good, but the overall variety felt limited, and the flavor profiles weren't what I typically look for, which is why I’d rate the non-sushi food a 6/10. Overall Verdict: Come for the unique, fun, and clean environment; you won't be disappointed. If you love sushi, you'll likely love the food, too!
Everything here was great. The experience, food and service was 10/10. I've never been to a conveyor belt sushi spot but they explain it all to you if you haven't. It's a good way to try different things because only a few pieces come on a plate so you don't have feel bad if you don't like it because you're not wasting much food or money. It was also nice not having to wait for your order because you just pick it out as it comes by your table, unless someone snatches it before it gets to your table, but it's okay it made it kind of fun in a way.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great time at Kura Sushi! This place is seriously neat and feels super futuristic from the moment you walk in. The whole experience with the revolving sushi bar is not only fun to watch, but also makes ordering effortless and exciting. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The vibe is upbeat, modern, and perfect for a fun outing. We really enjoyed the place and will absolutely be back again! 🍣✨
Nice, new, and fun! 15 plates was our goal for our prize. Sushi was good. I was impressed with the variety. Good for small and large groups. The service was friendly and attentive. They are still in soft-opening phase, and yes, the seating/reservations still need some work. However, they were very pleasant while explaning the process. Instead of leaving a 1 star like another reviewer did, give them grace and let them work out the kinks

First time at this new sushi restaurant and I was very pleased with the service I received. Sabrina was super attentive and even recommended me a fan favorite sushi which was delicious! Overall I’m happy with my time dining here and I’ll be back again!

Recently dined in and was very impressed! Our Host, Tony was amazing. He answered all my questions and was very polite and patient which impressed me in itself. Would come back again, the atmosphere was good, food was great and our host was friendly!

Such a great date night! Brought my husband for his birthday and we had a great time. Good fresh quality not a big amount of variety but the Udon was amazing flavor. Also the bathroom has a bidet with seat warmer and all kinds of gadgets that was definitely an unexpected surprise.
Ask about there giveaways. I did not know but they were giving away cute blankets when you spend a certain amount of money. Lunch was fun at KRSB. Freshness 9/10. Variety 9/10. Service 8/10. Atmosphere 10/10. There are other items on the menu but we just enjoyed the sushi. We didn’t even keep track of the plates we ate. We just went at it. 175$ bill by the end. I think the touch screen menu counted 35 plates. 😁I definitely would go back. KRSB is a fun place to enjoy with friends and family.
While I'm very happy that there is a Kura restaurant in the 209 I'm just a bit disappointed in the amount of plates that were available on the conveyor train. The order menu was a smaller than expected when compared to other Kuras. I went during the weekday when it was wasn't packed by busy enough.Prices are the typical California pricing. I still left with a $40 bill and did have a variety of plates. It's still a typical California Kura that you would expect and the quality and service is still there but my main disappointment was the number of empty plates in the train.

I've been to many different Kura Sushi restaurants - in different cities and states. Each location is different in regards to the quality of fish, pricing and how well they prepare the food. This location is ok, not the best. Out of all of the locations I've been to, Modesto has the most expensive price at $4.10 per base plate. The wasabi isn't the best compared to other Kuras, but is still good. The takoyaki is cold on the inside and not cooked throughly. The batter is smushy and not fully round, flat bottom. Sometimes when you order on the tablet, the fish is striking cold. Service is really slow. When you hit the button to call for help, the employees take forever just to come to your table. 10-20 minutes. 1 star for service and an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars. *Update: I have returned several mores times. Service has gotten a little better. Still pretty slow sometimes, but not as bad. Employees are always friendly though. Takoyaki is throughly cooked now. I would give a new rating of 3.5 out 5 stars.
Great food. Most items are reasonably priced just keep track of how much you're ordering. The service workers are very nice and welcoming and quick right help. Overall worth it for a fun little time especially if you are willing to experiment different dishes. Only wish there was coffee or my variety to the tea.
Was told about this restaurant from a family member. No wait on getting a table,(which was nice) Food was OK, atmosphere was OK. They had a cool robot bringing my drinks.. I did have some issues with the plastic fork trying to pick up sushi.(Prefer metal forks) Before I left, the waitress spilled food on me end the floor. I noticed she didn’t wipe the floor down. Everybody and the robot was tracking this food that’s spilled all over the place.. I told a few waitresses about this, they ignored me. Would I come back? Or recommend? Probably not.
Food is good, but not worth the price. $4.10 a plate is crazy because most plates only had 2 pieces of sushi on them. $4.50 for a soft drink feels like robbery honestly, they filled it with so much ice it felt like a complete rip off. not much variety either. I enjoy the one in Sacramento more.

My daughter and I went to this restaurant for lunch. To be honest I really didn't care too much. First the portions are very small, the Sushi rotation around I have no idea how Long some of them been there. I was looking for California rolls but it was ok I had to order them . We also order fish and chips and pot stickers. Again The portion was small for the price. They have these robots to bring your beverage. The food was ok but for the portion it was not worth it. It was an experience.

I heard about this place through the Modesto Bee and was excited to bring my staff for a new dining experience. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing. The food was just alright, with very limited options and a mostly empty conveyor belt. At the end of the meal, guests are expected to place their plates into a slot so the restaurant can count them and calculate the total cost. Since it was our first time and we weren’t fully aware of the process, we didn’t realize that every plate must be inserted—even if there is still food left on it. When I asked the waitress what to do with the leftovers once our plates were gone, she told me to use sauce cups for the leftover rolls and implied it should have been “self-explanatory.” After speaking with the manager about her attitude, the waitress even gestured to her head as if to suggest I must be stupid. I was shocked. Was I supposed to dump the leftovers straight onto the table? Between the rude staff, confusing process, and bland sushi, we definitely won’t be returning. Very disappointing experience overall.

Service and atmosphere are great, but food is bland, didn't taste fresh, and is probably not good quality to begin with. Just about every other sushi restaurant in Modesto is a better choice. Also, very expensive for what you get. This is more of a kids sushi experience since it's sushi boat style.
Way way overpriced each very very small plate of sushi costs $4.10 EACH. So be careful it adds up quickly. Much cheaper options all over Modesto
