The owner, Yeci, and her amazing team never fail to impress. They are so friendly and want to make sure everything you order is perfect for you! We dine in often, but this weekend ordered a taco bar style of catering for a party. The food was SO good, came with everything we needed and more plus amazing portions! They offered to bring it to the party for us even! I will definitely use them for catering again in the future!
La Morenita is our favorite Mexican restaurant. We’ve been going there for many, many years. They start you off with some bottomless chips and salsa that you can’t stop eating. I absolutely love that salsa. They have many great dishes but I’m someone who always orders the same thing because I love it that much. I get beef enchiladas with red sauce and I get extra red sauce on the side because it’s that good! The best red sauce I’ve ever had. Mix it with the Mexican rice too and yummm. Service has always been great. Yecenia is our favorite waitress, she’s been there for years and she’s always so friendly and stops to chat with us to see how we’ve been doing. I don’t live in Modesto anymore so I sadly don’t get to come as often but I always make sure to stop by whenever we are visiting!
Best Mexican restaurant in Modesto, beats every other shitty mexican restaurant closeby. The food is authentic & well made and flavorful. Has a very homey old school vibe to it which i very much enjoy!! My favorite is their shrimp tacos & mole enchiladas!! The mango salsa they make is delicious as well!! Also the owner makes you feel welcomed like he actually cares!! AMAZING owner and very friendly and charismatic!! Every other Mexican restaurant owner needs to take example from T as i literally would choose to come back here time and time again just for they way he cares and treats his customers. He also works despite being the owner and hops behind the bar and makes drinks. Very recognizable person, outstanding coming from someone who could choose to be an owner and just watch but he chooses to immerse himself in the business and get to know his people which i love. So overall Good food supporting a locally owned business & great integrity. 10/10 recommend and if you havent met T ask! Hes always happy to say hi!!
I can't believe I went 11 months without "The Wedding Sauce." Now that I've binged on it's intoxicating deliciousness, I have woken the next morning and chastised myself like an old man not able say "no" when his beautiful young wife wants to going out drinking on a Sunday night like we used to in our youth. Laying here surrounded by mostly empty food containers in a room badly painted in the color wedding sauce, I feel euphoria, deepest satisfaction, and food induced lethargy. Unfortunately, this blessed state is being tempered by sorrow, regret, and the dread slowly rising as I start to think of the walk of shame I will do tomorrow after I tell everyone in my Wedding Sauce-Aholics group.
Great food, miss them in Manteca.. super busy and a bit slow on the food this time... But great servers and especially the bus boy. He kept people happy while waiting on food.

This place is awesome… Not only is the food amazing but the service is incredible… When you go out to a restaurant you do go out for good food, but he experiences so much more enjoyable when the services is excellent! We were greeted with a smile, seated, ordered our food received our drinks and received our food all within 13 minutes. Somebody else at the food presentation was amazing and the flavors were all on point. Do you want good Mexican food you need to come here! Five stars all day all night!
Tasty Mexican food at a decent price. My wife and I split the burrito. It was massive and we nearly didn’t finish it. Daughter ordered chicken quesadillas and she said they were great. Guacamole is “market price.” Never seen that before on guacamole but guess the price of avocados fluctuates a lot! Place is clean and service was quick. We will return. Thank you!
Great service by Yecenia and the food was awesome. Oh yeah the beer was nice and cold as well 😊 Wedding Steak extra spicy. Owner was really nice, came by the table to check in on us and see how everything was going. Recommend trying this spot out.
The place is just bought from a former server. The food is always been pretty good. Please remodeling and some TLC has lots of potential. I used to eat at the former memos or.casuelas nearby however the service is horrible. The guy gave us cold beans and didn't even apologize. He couldn't care less and he look like a manager or Mickey mouse owner. It was much better when it was called memos. I no longer go there because of the service. Trust me this place won't last long.
Friend took me here for the first time. Relaxing atmosphere, humorous staff Chili Colorado was a bit dry for me, rice and beans could of used have been a bit more favorable but with salt and salsa it was delicious! Definitely go back and try the chili rellenos.
Got the Wedding Burrito Supreme. Their wedding sauce is really good and I recommend trying it (you can order it on the side). Portions were large and very filling had myself lunch for the next day with leftovers. Their margarita was a bit sub par which is my only complaint.
Lately the service has been disappointing. Taking up to 15 min to come ask for drink, and forgetting to bring what we ask for.
Drink was good asada was dry, beans and cheese was good. I feel like I shouldn't of said ,"its our first time here" because I felt ignored. Our waitress I felt like she was forcing her self to interact with us. Personality was not genuine in my opinion. Probably won't be back. The Margarita was in a 6oz glass and was $9
I was disappointed in my food. Very dry pork and very little, "like they gave me what they had left". Don't know if I would go back. Not worth my money.
Not my flavor at all but maybe for some Lacking flavors
The food here is amazing! It’s been a while since we have been here. I had the quesadilla supreme that came with beans and rice. It was very delicious. The portions are very generous. My wife had Carne Asada with wedding sauce. For our beverages she had a Dr Pepper and I had a tall Pacifico draft. They have a bar with no bar menu. So, if you want a drink you better know what you want. This is a restaurant so I expect to look at a menu. If this were a bar with no restaurant, then no big deal.
Just finished brunch at La Morenita, what follows is my review First, only the busser of the staff that we saw had a mask on. This concerns me as the pandemic continues to spread exponentially (see today's local numbers image I posted) and yet folks who work all day with the public don't seem to understand the situation. As for the food and drinks, generous portions, prices a bit high (sighs - times have changed) and libations solidly done. Quality was there all around and service was prompt. Now if they can extend their concern for quality to their concern for the health of their patrons, we will be looking at 5/5. Unfortunately, when I went out to eat tonight.. I came face-to-face with a couple cockroaches .. Won't be eating her again :/ really sad because I very much enjoyed the place they get really good business customers flying in and out no excuse to have bugs in the kitchen around the food ! I watched them sit a customer directly at the table I saw roaches climbing on the Women working here are very nice and kind, but I really think the owners of the establishment owe it to the people working there and the customers too create a bug free environment
I’ve came to La Morenita many times and i had my friend stop and pick me up a wedding meal with steak and bring it to me to Los Banos. I’m literally appalled that I literally counted six strips of steak meat in my meal. I didn’t order a kids meal and you gave me 2 tortillas I can’t even use both because you guys served me a kids meal for my $39 for this meal salsa and cabbage. I’m so confused on what I paid almost $40 for. You guys should really be ashamed of yourselves for this it deserved and image to be posted. La Morenita do better!!
