Red Lobster Modesto Reviews
Chef Jeff out done himself with his creations. Food was great! Service was awesome. Everyone is super friendly. Great view of the water. A place to stop by if you're in the area!
Awsome evening at Alure. Service was beyond incredible as was the food. Friendly staff, definitely go out of thier way to satisfy the customer. From appetizers to dessert Delicious. Service, food have gotten so much better this year...
A Lure never disappoints. The view is amazing. The rear outdoor patio is very scenic and beautifully done. I had made 8pm reservations for a Friday for my husband and myself. I had a perfectly made spicy margarita and then we ordered a Cesar salad and sautéed calamari to start with. Both delish. The calamari was so tender and the salsa was fantastic. Nice, healthy app! I ordered the grilled swordfish with “forbidden rice” and mango salsa. It came with some very fresh green beans. The fish was cooked perfectly. I had never seen black rice before but the flavors were outstanding with the coconut and mango combo. I would eat this every night if i could. My husband ordered the macadamia-coconut crusted flounder. The fish was fried and had a delicious crust. Very large portions. It also came with green beans but the sweet potato purée was so good that I wanted it to be the last thing I tasted! The service was excellent and the restaurant is decorated perfectly with elegant nautical vibes….and you cannot beat that view! They have curtains to separate the dining room for private parties and the bar was packed last night. Big parking lot and very easy to get to. Highly recommended!
Yet another pleasant dining experience overlooking the bay. We lunched here on Sunday to celebrate Greek Easter. Fresh whole fluke, awesome mussels, fish+chips, fish tacos (you see a theme here?), and even chicken. We took advantage of the no corkage fee on Sunday and enjoyed a sauvignon blanc from nearby Old Field vineyard. No surprise that owner Adam is from the hood, Little Neck. Go Queens!
Good luck making a choice. I was torn between the flounder and cod. I went with the cod. Coconut Macadamia crusted cod with sweet potato puree, green beans, and a key lime sauce. Oh boy, was that the right choice. It was delicious and gave me 2 nights of small size leftovers. Mom and I split the crab cake appetizer. It was quite delightful. Buttery soft. Tasted like all crab. The service was quite slow. The waiter came to the table a few times and didn't take our order. There was a sign out front asking us to be patient, so we obliged. It was a bit pricy, but that's what you get for fine dining on the north fork. It's worth it for a fancy night out, wiith local options and flair. The view is spectacular. Being next to the water makes me so happy. It was a great choice bc my mom knows someone who knows the owner and we had to try it out at some point. Thank you.
Bartender Eddie is always a welcoming fixture. New menu items by Chef Jeff are creative and bring a nice change. Shout out to Manager Tracy for always providing attentive service.
Wonderfully fresh seafood prepared with exciting seasonings, expertly cooked. The restaurant itself is modern, spacious and chic with lovely views of the water and yachts. Servers and hostess were so friendly too. Another must visit in Southold!
What a great place to eat,The food is delicious, The service and waitress was great and the bus boy Nick was also great.
Great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat! They have a beautiful water view and a great bar/ lounge area. The sunsets are gorgeous! You can't go wrong with the oysters on the half, blood orange margarita and especially the coconut macadamia flounder! Ice had nothing but great service as well. Also there's a great $2 heineken and Sierra Nevada side car special at the bar!!
A Lure is a restaurant 🍴that is consistently great. The food is always fresh and deliciously prepared. The view of the marina and Peconic Bay never disappoints. It is our favorite place to have dinner on the North Fork!
Great atmosphere on the balcony under the tent overlooking the marina. Food was great as well, had the broiled oysters, fish tacos, and cod.
Great place! The service was fantastic and food was delicious. One issue is the restaurant needs to find a better solution for the bug problem when dining outside.
I have been coming here for quite some time my go to dish is there swordfish which is outstanding can't get enough of it can't wait to go back again and again. The staff are always kind and courteous and the place Is always nice and clean? and the view is even better.
Had the most amazing time with Robert as our server! He was incredibly knowledgeable, easy going, and kind to us as it was our first time dining here. We will definitely be back!
First the food is amazing, second if your have gluten issues, you can eat here and the food is delicious. The drinks are just as tasteful as the food and the desserts, oh the desserts, my favorite part of the meal; has gluten free options and are fantastic.
The hamburger - yes hamburger- was insane. The smoke mozzarella and marmalade topping at first had me thinking about substituting but don't. I would go back tomorrow and order the same thing. I've never had a juicier burger as proven by my napkin. The cod and the crusted flounder were the bomb.
Best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Our waiter, Robert, was amazing. The food was perfect and the atmosphere was so relaxing and enjoyable! Will be back very soon!
I am not from around here. Finished up with a client a litte early. One on my coworkers suggested i check it out. Glad i did. Very clean. Friendly staff. Food was fantastic. I had macadamia-conconut crusted flounder, green beans, and roasted potatos. Along with a stony creek IPA. Would definitely come back again when im in the area.
The seafood can hardly be fresher. The preparations are appropriate and prices are reasonable. The location in a marina, directly on the water, is perfect. The dining room is airy, spacious and not noisy.
Perfect spot to enjoy everything magical about greenport minus the in town madness. Wine list is great and the menu has an array of options whether you enjoy seafood or steak and potatoes. I'm not sure what the chefs put in the tuna ap but it was incredible.... Thank you Alure for a fantastic view with great service and a really delicious dinner. Till we see you again- Aiya
Place is stunning, the staff is very friendly and attentive... The portions are perfect and the food is amazing. They are pet friendly for outside dinning. The view is gorgeous.
I’ve been coming here 5 years, never had a bad bite. Had a party of 12 with two dogs this time around, Robert handled the group and his own staff like a pro. Plus his recommendations always spot on Dad’s fish and chips light and flaky, very tasty Deserts are always a blast there and the highlight of the meal. Constructive criticism… missing the watermelon salad special!!!! Bring it back please!!!
Nice place by the water The catch of the day was sea bass and was sooo fresh My daughter ordered fish tacos which were really good, good
My wife and I hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks in the tented area of A Lure and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. Adam and his staff are truly first class in every respect. They made the entire planning process as smooth as it could possibly be and went above and beyond when it came to helping us pick a menu and pricing structure that worked for our special day. This restaurant is beautiful, the food is out of this world, and the views are stunning. Couldn't recommend this place any more for a special event or a night out on the North Fork.
Was here for a wedding and was so impressed by the staff. Working with the high volume, everyone was so kind and professional. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. Love this place!
Sheltering from the storm with a snack at the bar. The young hostess is exceptional as is our bartender. We were headed elsewhere but the rains came in. I am so glad we found this spot. The baked clams were amazing. Thank you!
Number one is we enjoyed fish cooked perfectly. Nice menu options for fish or non fish eaters. Enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service people.
Amazing restaurant!!! Our waitress Tracy was so nice and the service and food were both incredible. Cute outdoor area and we were able to bring our dog to dine with us. Highly recommend!
A perfect meal . Fresh well prepared food. Shrimp and fish were delicious. Good portions. Nice waitstaff. Pretty view. Not overly expensive. Seats far apart for covid. Restaurant very clean.
Finally! A place that brings you a burger medium rare when you order a medium rare burger! And a burger was out of this world! The clam chowder, I could eat all day. Could use a few more clams, but the flavor is really on point! Waiters are friendly, fast and eager to please. I would definitely recommend this place.
Looking for seafood we stumbled upon this Gem. Amazing seafood and great service. The waitress was amazing. We were sitting outside and there was a lot of wind, we requested to move inside and despite their busy restaurant we were accommodated inside. “The captain “ as the waiter called him was very polite and super helpful. The catch of the day was just exquisite. Made the birthday diner that icy special. Thank you and the staff who was so welcoming and extremely friendly. You have an amazing establishment I highly recommend this restaurant..
Four kids under 9 and two over stimulated moms walked into a bar…. I just wanna say, from the moment we arrived the host and staff took amazing care of us and literally gave us moms an adult dinner we were in desperate need of and treated our kids with so much patience. We will be back and we thank you so much!!
We had a wonderful dinner! Liz was an excellent server. The calamari was enjoyable. We had a nice mixed green salad and the penne with shrimp. We also had the cod. All seafood tasted fresh and made to order. The view is beautiful.
My husband and I visited this restaurant today for the first time. We were extremely satisfied with it. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious and everything we ordered was fresh and excellent. My husband had the whole fluke lunch special that was prepared perfectly. Our waiter, Robert, was very professional and extremely helpful. He was pleasant to speak with and the service that he gave to us was second to none. He recommended the fluke which was a great choice on his part. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We live in Nassau County, but would make the trip back just to go there.
Great place to get fresh food. Priced right and consistently on point. Their fish tacos are a home run. My wife and I come here 4 times a year due to our work schedules. Love eating here. Views are great especially if you eat outside. Natalie C. was our server this time and she was just terrific. Very professional, friendly, just made my wife's and I extremely comfortable. She's an asset to the restaurant and terrific go between the restaurant and you the customer. Ask for her and you will not be disappointed. The other servers are great as well Natalie some how made us feel special.
I was fortunate enough to get dinner reservations this past Saturday and the previous Sunday to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful water view. The food was delicious especially the shrimp and pork meatball appetizer and the macadamia-coconut crusted flounder but my favorite item was the blood orange margaritas!! They were so yummy!! My server Carly on Saturday was amazing and made me feel so special and was so attentive as was the hostess!! The staff is amazing!! I will surely be back again! I highly recommend that you go and enjoy a delicious meal in a beautiful setting!!!!
If you're into seafood, this is a great place to experience. The back of the restaurant looks out onto a marina/bay. Cocktails are made with top shelf liquor. Beer taps are cold!! Plenty of parking.
Enjoyed the food and the place. Had a new server so seevice was meh. But she tried.
A friend of ours invited us to A Lure Chowder House . He booked our table on their website and as a result didn’t get to have a choice of sitting outdoors or by a window. If that’s important to you, you must call the restaurant to make your reservation. While our friend was disappointed since he wanted his guests ( us) to have the perfect view, we loved our dinner as well as the service. And even sitting indoors, we still had a view and most importantly, everything we tasted was delicious!

I enjoyed my meal here! I had the baked clams and tuna nachos. The baked clams were delicious and flavorful(6 pieces). Delicious to dip the rosemary bread in! The tuna nachos were not over the top but good! It could have used another texture, maybe some avocado or edamame. The staff were kind and the outdoor view is a 10/10 on a warm day. I would recommend this place!
The food was great! Highly recommend tacos, fish and chips, and flourless chocolate cake! Compliments to the chef 🤌🏻 Unfortunately, the service was very American — friendly and unprofessional. In this case also slow.
The restraint is very nice, ocean front location the staff is pleasant. First time in my life I tries meatballs with shirt over Thai sauce. It was out of this world (shown in the picture) The desert is good, light. Pasta with clams wasn’t my favorite since pasta was very hard and claims were not tender. Overall it was a nice experience
Good food and drinks, beautiful view, lots of outdoor seating
The server was upbeat and very helpful. Our cocktails perfect. Seared tuna, ok. Flounder delish, Manhattan clam chowder top shelf. Everything was good, not exceptional. 4,5 stars.
Great service with Danny last night: spicy shrimp app superb, as was the Med. Salad, and the grilled calamari, as a new Bartender dDan just needs to sweep the bar with his eyes more. Great personality, respectful.
Great clams on the 1/2 shell, good tasty coctail sauce served cold on ice. had a bowl of the P E I mussels, great broth! Fish taco was also tasty. Clean place with great view.
Great way to kick off Memorial Day weekend!! First time there. Nothing not to like! Beautiful view. Great food and our hats to the Professor! Will be back again....Thanks The DeRosas!!!
We have been off Long Island for a long time. It was great to come back and eat here sitting outside overlooking the bay with the boats animal in front. Fresh caught seafood that was prepared very well. The service was really good, excellent in fact. Not inexpensive considering the portion sizes and what it was. But I could see myself going back here again for sure when I'm in the area.
The portion was plentiful. The prices were very high. The service was excellent and the setting was lovely
One of the more memorable meals in Southold/Greenport area! The atmosphere (on the water) felt casual and comfortable. The food (coconut/macadamia nut crusted flounder) was delicious and the wait staff was great! Will definitely return.
Great outdoor vista looking out to bay waters. Dine in or out. Lots of seafood offerings fresh from sea. Consider this a local place with good food and reasonable prices for fish entrees. Nice bar area for cocktails b4 or after. Better than the "chowder house" name.
View was beautiful. Waitstaff very friendly and helpful. Great choices for Seafood Dinner selections. Food prepared well and delicious. Only disappointment was dessert menu. Overpriced and heavy on dried fruit. ??
Efficient and good food, except for the dessert. The unlisted special appetizer was a grilled octopus on greens. It was superb. Moist, soft, and complex. The dressing was just right, meaning, minimal. Very impressed. The seared tuna was so-so. Clearly nothing special about the cut of tuba. Although, it was sushi grade, it lacked in flavor. The Japanese shoyu dressing was flavorful enough and as were its sauces and garnishes. The fish in itself was mediocre. The waiter, Jeff, was excellent. Attentive, professional and patient. The server, on the other hand needs to be retrained. He placed one main on top of someone's napkinwhile that person was un the restroom. Thereby, having the plate un an off kilter resting position. That turned me off. Another observation was when the server cleared the plates and cutlery from the appetizers, they did not replace my fork. Therefore, when the main arrived, I had to ask for a fork. That was annoying. These small things make a difference. Also, the PEI mussels were delicious. Too bad the server removed the plate without asking as we were dipping bread into the sauce. Yes, the mussels were devoured, but the sauce was still being worked on. The dessert, which was a key lime pie was probably not made with actual key lime. If it was, then the next criticism would be that the custard base used un the pie was terrible. Clearly, this dessert was not fresh and just really below par. It's as if they gave up on the last leg of the meal. Dessert should be equally fresh as the mains and appetizers. After all, it is the last impression you give to your departing guests. Notwithstanding, I would return. I just won't have dessert.
Fish and chips were very good, raw oysters were very good, fried oysters bao were fishy tasting, tuna wrap was good. Service was very good. Had a pretty good time.
Sat outside at the back by marina. Really nice atmosphere on a beautiful summer day. Food was good as well as the service
The atmosphere is lovely. Right on the water. Some of the food could have been better. I ordered Sweet and Spicy Shrimp. The shrimp was over cooked and I tasted no spice or sweetness. My son and hubby had burgers. One liked it and the other didn't. The chocolate bag was fantastic. Tasted like quality dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The waite staff was good and friendly. I'd go again and try different food.
Would have given it 5 stars based on the food alone but as an overall experience I had to give it 4. We went Friday night with a 7 pm reservation. The hostess refused to sit us outside or even near a window, saying we had to request it online. Mind you during our 80 minutes there, these tables were empty! The food was very good, lump crab appetizer was fresh and tasty. The whole lobster was cooked to perfection! The coconut macadamia flounder was a nice combo of flavors and the sweet potatoe puree was smooth and tasty.
My first time here with my families Food was ok but not flavorful most of them just plain don’t get me wrong i been many places try different foods i do expect the seafood here but came out a little disappointed, lobster rolls was plain no flavor, and the pasta seafood a lot of different clams still plain flavor and I found a little sand in side the clams most of them , and one more thing the steak sandwich the bread was a little brunt, but one thing here was great it’s a server was very nice and the place was very beautiful .
Decent meal on the road between Greenport and Southold. Nice view of the water. The flounder was a generous serving but crust was to have coconut and macadamia nuts but if they were there, they were ground as small as the breadcrumbs, so hard to detect that flavor. Also, the green beans were way undercooked. The Shrimp in grits was fine but for $30 we were hoping for more than just 5 shrimp. Service was great.
Service was okay no one ever asked me if I wanted a second glass of water. My partner enjoyed her meal and it looked very good , mine was so very greasy I couldn't enjoy it or finish it.
While the service is excellent and the atmosphere is good, the food is lacking both in preparation and quantity. The cost is high for a disappointing menu of few choices
Tom Schaudel's seafood restaurant serves some very good food -- classic lobster, other dishes (tuna, mussels) with some Asian flavors. But the fish tacos we had on our most recent visit were soggy, and the desert menu seemed uninspired. Still a lovely view of the bay, and enhanced with a wide outside deck. But the interior is quite noisy (too many hard surfaces -- they really should attend to the interior walls). In our most recent visit, service seemed harried and uninterested.
Nice staff, very good food, slow to get food out. Not the wait staff fault, I believe it was the kitchen. Not busy that day. I would eat there again, and hopefully can give 4 or 5 stars.
The mussels were less than stellar, let's just say the opposite of plump & luscious. Very disappointing. By contrast, the Bedell rose was delicious, & our waitress fabulous.
I'm willing to give more latitude for restaurants opening after COVID but this was a disappointment. They didn't have enough working heaters for the tables. The grilled calamari wasn't cooked enough and was tasteless. My wife's cod was pink and way undercooked. The vegetables were good but already cold. I understand eating outside oftentimes results in cooler food but it was cool as soon as it came out. My swordfish was cool but cooked perfect with wonderful flavor. It was about half the size of my fist, a bit small. The view of the marina was very nice and I suspect this was an off night. In their defense they took the cod off the bill. The waitress was very attentive and competent .
My wife and I recently visited on our mini-moon. The atmosphere along the water was beautiful and the heaters were a nice touch. We both got the price fixe menu and a half dozen oysters. The beet salad was good and nice sized portion. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of my PEI mussels dish which the broth was great flavor but half the mussels didn't seem cleaned and tasted off. The oysters for an "osyter-ia" were sub par we both felt. My wife loved her horseradish crusted crab but unfortunately my steak was over cooked and not seasoned at all. My lobster portion of the meal was large and flavorful but the side of corn was again bland. Overall an average visit but with so many great seafood places in the area would probably head to those first.
Food! Salad wilted but was good taste. Flounder over sweet potato taste good but they should separate the presentations ,too mushy. Service was passable but not attentive! Had to ask for service several times! Lovely setting by the water, clean restrooms, nice barroom, friendly atmosphere. I will be going back.they just have to coordinate their waiters and not overwork some of the sections😒

Food and service was great. The reason for the low rating was due to a surprise $50 cake cutting fee that cost more than the cake itself. As a party of 13 people ordering drinks, appetizers and a meal each, it was an unreasonable nickel-and-diming of patrons. I’m surprised it didn’t cost money to use the restrooms! To management reading this review, your policy should be revised to better the experience of your customers seeking a casual dining experience because your food nor atmosphere warrant this kind of fee.
If you are looking for an “in and out” service this is your place! We were out of here in less than an hour, and that included dessert and coffee. Food was adequate, along the lines of cafeteria food. Edible but nothing outstanding. We had a special that only appeared on one menu-“Scottish Salmon” that consisted of possibly poached salmon with some sort of red sauce and a squash, zucchini, red pepper medley. Perfectly serviceable, but very little pride in craft. The other entree was the standard Bucatini with clams that needed Parmesan that was not offered. If you are a country club/marina crowd member-this is your spot!
The fried oysters, calamari, and clam chowder are ok, but nothing special. The service was really bad though; very slow and knew nothing about the menu or the beers. They were friendly though. The indoor seating is very loud and not enjoyable. Outdoor seating looks beautiful and has great views of the harbor.
Disappointing. Wonderful waterfront setting but food taste and quality was sub par. Bread was undercooked with raw dough that stuck to my fingers. Sea bass and mussels was in a tasteless tomato sauce, fried fish was OK but French fries were greasy and tasteless. It seemed like they were fried twice or something. Thee tiny piece of lemon served with it was slimy and must have been in the refrigerator for a week.
Server was great. Most employees looked unhappy. Especially when entering. Wife’s swordfish was dry, son’s burger was good. I had dozen oysters $38.00 most of them had numerous shell bits, they were like dry shriveled up oysters, not plump, juicy etc… I said something but nothing was done. I also had a shrimp dish that was ok. They should offer a warm lobster roll not just the cold one. Handed a bill over $200, gave 20% tip as usual and gave busboy a $5… He was the happiest most gracious employee. Place could be great if they cared more and invested in fresh ingredients. I won’t be back…
We were served our entrees 60 minutes after our reservation time. That’s only because we begged a busboy to find us a waiter after sitting for 20 minutes at our table with no service. The food was tasty, but the service was abysmal. We stopped while traveling for work. If we were from the area we would have left.
We had a very disappointing experience at this a la carte seafood restaurant when we ordered flounder that was described on the menu as macadamia encrusted flounder, but arrived as greasy fried flounder. High prices set high expectations that were not met. Will not be back again, nor will the 4 others in our party who felt ill from this fried food.
This place is so overpriced , it is a robbery !Kids meals that are not even on menu were priced 19 dollars (fish fingers and fries or mac and cheese) ! 6 (not even jumbo) shrimps on an ocean of ice for $18!!!! Food was good but you are not in a gastronomic restaurant. So disappointing. I would not recommend of course! What I recommend is that you do not stop here.
We've never submitted a negative review to any restaurant before, but felt that A Lure needed to know this! We’ve been going to this restaurant in Southold, Long Island for many years and always enjoyed decent seafood in a lovely setting with a friendly professional staff - until recently. Unfortunately, the last few times we’ve been to A Lure, we’ve been greeted by one of several rude, sullen, lazy high school girls who think they’re doing you a huge favor to stop chatting with whatever other high school girl is nearby and deign to look at an iPad, reluctantly confirm your reservation and snarl that it will be “at least a ten minute wait before you can be seated” and to “just wait at the bar.” The fact that there are 14 empty tables in the dining room (we counted!) is irrelevant… When we pointed out that the place was almost empty, she rolled her eyes, smirked, and announced that “all the servers are busy” and “you’ll just have to be courteous and wait”… This being the 5th or 6th time we’ve experienced this exact same routine, we left and had a delicious meal in Greenport a few minutes away. It’s sad to see that these untrained, unmanaged and seriously unqualified “hostesses” are alienating regular customers in a highly competitive area of LI and hurting a restaurant we’ve always enjoyed.
I'm sitting at my table an hour and a half after being seated and the food has yet to arrive. I have watched customers enter the restaurant after me and be fed. You may wonder, was it a big party? Could that slow things? 8 people is certainly no small group but to essentially neglect customers at what is supposed to be a high quality establishment is easily worthy of one star. Yet as I write the table that arrived 10 minutes prior to us is signing the check. We have had to speak to the manager and still nothing. Avoid this place if you want to eat in any sort of a timely manor. What a joke.
Service was terrible. Waitress didn’t check in on us through dinner Had to instruct the severs to take the empty plates. Clearly they were not trained Shrimp cocktail $18 for small size shrimps We were told mussels are plump but they were tiny ! Waitress leaves the bill and doesn’t say thank you Overall food was ok Won’t go back !
Service spotty- don’t ask if you’re finished before removing your plate. Lucky if they even check on whether you are doing ok.
Met some friends for a Thursday evening dinner, hoping for some great water views and elevated seafood. What a disappointment. Waited 1.5 hours after our appetizers for dinner to be delivered. When we asked about the delay, our waitress was flippant and acted shocked that we would even question the service. No apology or offer to look into it, just two other servers bringing out our food suddenly appear after we complain twice. Appetizers were run of the mill. For $18 and over per, I was expecting at least some interesting presentation. The meal was worse. Pasta with clams - don't bother. For a chef who also runs a specialty Italian eatery - a Mano, you would think he could pair pasta with sauce. You would be wrong. Clam sauce that just splashed around undercooked noodles without a trace of garlic. Awful. My husband was served a pitiful lobster roll that was the size of a tiny supermarket hot dog bun and just as ordinary, as it was mostly mayo. For our portion of the bill, $120, I could have bought groceries for a week. I am a local, and recommend you head elsewhere to save yourself the aggravation and disappointment. Maybe at some point in the past, Alure was a 5 star eatery. Now it's just a tired and lazy tourist trap. Try Windemere at Strong's marina for on-point food and crisp attentive service, with marina views! For pasta that is a delight for the senses, including pairing the right noodles with sauces, head to Touch of Venice.
The waiting staff wasn’t very good. They were in a rush. Couldn’t even ask for more water. They were running away so fast after they gave you something. The staff is just a bunch of high schoolers that weren’t professional. If I’m spending more than $200 I should have very good service. For the price that I pay I except exceptional service.
My gambo was the size of a small coffee from Starbucks. I didn't see it coming because of the price. They were very conservative with bread that we had no choice but to ask for more. When it says on the menu that plates are not big they understate it! We didn't go home starving but the worse for the money I have seen in a long time. Service was okay, but the waiters were teenagers and hard to get much information or recommendations from.
