Our experience at La Salita last week was simply fantastic. The quality of the food was simply outstanding (Plin Pasta & Veal Cheeks) in my case. We have tried many restaurants around this beautiful area but the combination of highest quality food, wine, service at a very reasonable price is in my view hard to beat. Michaela's knowledge on wine and how to best pair with your chosen dish and personal budget is off the scale. A visit to Monforte would be incomplete if you don't take the time to experience this outstanding establishment.
Tucked away in one of the narrow and steep streets of the old part of the town just a short way from the main piazza, this restaurant is worth seeking out. I particularly enjoyed the trout starter and also the pulled pork. There is a small outside eating area, so best book if you don't want to eat indoors when it's sunny and warm. Good service too.

The service was exceptional, reflecting the owners' personal touch and attention to detail. Every dish was beautifully presented, a hidden homage to the stunning Piemontese vineyards. Highly recommended! It's well worth the detour to explore Monforte d'Alba and experience this culinary delight.
Culinary experience turning traditional Piedmontese dishes to the contemporary dining. All in a family friendly setting! We came for a quick lunch but spent more than an hour enjoying the full meal. All worth a bit higher pricetag.
My husband and I were staying in Barolo and looking for a place to eat on Easter Sunday - a quiet day in a small town in Italy for sure. We were lucky enough that La Salita was open that evening. We were highly impressed but the small but curated menu, and the attention to detail in everything. The bread was fresh, the pasta was delicious and the wine was great. We would love to come back if we return to the area.
Delicious lunch with nice little rabbit bites before our food. Veal fasscino excellent grill. Good appetizer menu. Incredibly semi freddo dolci. Warm service. Reasonable prices for excellent food. Very convenient location.

Lunch here was my favourite meal during my time in Piedmont. The tartare and agnolotti with bagna cauda were both delicious. The outdoor seating in the back is very pretty.

Very friendly! The waiters explained us everything about traditional food and wine. We enjoyed a starter tartar with a glass of Dolcetto and as main dish a Costata di Fassona with a glass of Nebbiolo. Delicious!

Brilliant food. We went as a group of four and had various different items on the menu; every single one was a pleasure to taste. Perfect portion sizes and reasonably priced. We chose to eat outdoors, and the dining area was calm and quiet. Would highly highly recommend and would definitely visit again when back in the region.
We stopped by this beautiful restaurant in Monforte d'Alba on our biking trip in the region. A very charming garden in the back yard. Great atmosphere and great food. Truly enjoyable
Everything was excellent. Really good food. The tasting menu with wine pairings was reasonably priced at €48 for antipasti, primo, secondo, dessert, and 3 glasses of wine. Make a reservation if you want to sit on the patio. We sat inside which was also nice. Apparently the menu changes regularly.

Below average food and service. We had starters and mains and every dish was subpar. There are much better places in the neighborhood. Vegetables didn’t taste fresh at all, fish was overcooked and potatoes tasted like they were fried already once before
We were sent here after recommendations from our hotel on May 27, 2017. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We got the tasting menu with 3 wine pairings. "Pairings" is not an accurate word in this case since we got 3 Nebbiolo wines with no regard for the food being served. The first two were DOC with clear flaws, while the third was a very good DOCG Barolo but we were somehow only served a half glass. The food was edible at best. The appetizer was a tartar consisting of raw beef without any seasoning or accompaniment. The ravioli were drenched in a liquid brown sauce that pooled at the bottom of the plate and had not much complexity or taste really. Finally, the steak was cooked to the right "doneness" but had no crust and was poorly seasoned. We skipped the dessert since the meal had taken already 3 hours by that time. At 90€ for 2 people, as much as I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, it is an absolutely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place to a friend. Avoid if possible.
