Excellent historic pastry shop in Monza. The croissants are delicious... they're incredibly light!
Excellent pastry shop, offering high-quality brioches. Their apple and cinnamon pastries are top-notch, number one in the world. They also serve excellent coffee and cappuccino. Their friendly and helpful staff create a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely worth a try. SUPER!
Ok
At present, my favourite pastry shop in Monza. Good selection of always fresh pastry.
Very good croissants 🥐. Other bakery items are good too
Super
Both a bakery and cafe, with seats and a clean bathroom at the back. Lovely staff too. And if that weren't worth a visit, their delicious Italian style hot chocolate is definitely worthy of a detour! Thick and luscious, I slips down your throat like heaven. Make sure you have it with whipped cream (Pana). Divine!
Non ci so…
Went for breakfast. The place is divided into two sections: at the entrance, you're greeted by a counter selling mini pastries, cakes, and pastries, while a little further along is the cafeteria with a wide selection of pastries. Just beyond the counter is the open-plan kitchen, and I must say, this is always a nice choice. Watching the pastry chefs at work is always a pleasure and a guarantee of the artisanal quality of the product offered. The croissants were delicious, well-leavened, as was the cappuccino, perfectly creamy. The coffee was also good. To my surprise, I discovered it's also a small coffee roaster, a "specialty coffee" place, as they call it these days. The place, despite being spacious, unfortunately doesn't have a good table layout, which makes it a bit too close together and uncomfortable. Good value for money.
I don't know about the pastry shop, but the coffee or hot chocolate with cream are very good, especially the cream! The staff is very kind.
I stopped to get some pastries and had breakfast. The cappuccino was good, creamy. The brioche was excellent. The space with tables and chairs was a bit chaotic because they were right next to the counter. Being a holiday, there were lots of customers. The counter staff were friendly and smiling. I'll be back.
The chocolate is good, and the cookies are good, but it's best to order takeout. The seating is very small, and the bathroom lights go out. I happened upon this place on a holiday, and perhaps that's why the staff who served me was a bit rude.
Artisanal panettone 30 euros 750 gr: not good, I didn't like it
Pochi tavoli all’interno attaccati l’uno all’altro. BOCCIATA A PIENI VOTI!
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Four of us arrived yesterday afternoon. They don't serve table service. The decor is shabby, post-World War II style. The bathroom is locked and unheated, with no toilet paper or hand soap. Damp and mold even in front of the bathroom door. As I said, for four of us, two hot chocolates (dark, bitter as poison 🤢). A small bottle of water and four pastries, exactly four. A ginseng coffee. The bill was €17. It was definitely the first and last time for me. Cold atmosphere. Non-existent service. The food is edible, but definitely not good value for money. Go somewhere else. Better to go to a Chinese bar.
The hot chocolate was bitter as poison, mold on the walls, the bathroom was putrid. The price was too high.
Personally, I think the place is excellent. Unfortunately, the service today was absolutely confusing. We went in for a coffee and a pastry. The cashier directed us to the coffee shop for coffee, which they made us, but for the pastry, they directed us back to the cashier, making us wait 15 minutes before serving it. We enjoyed the coffee cold and bitter.
Pastry at €48 per kg seems crazy to me. We need a sincere application of more accessible and "fair" prices. I understand the history and the location, but this must not go against a basic pricing ethic!
Pasticceria Bona has always been an excellent place to shop. Today I ordered a Saint Honore cake for Mother's Day, but I'm not satisfied. The photo shows the cake I thought I'd purchased. Unfortunately, the one I picked up was good, but it was just a copy of the one in the photo. Maybe next time.
Wrong working schedule: closed on Sundays.
