Ambiente familiar, buena comida.
Today, on Rita's trip through the Vegas of Madrid, we ate at Meson el Cid. A classic, old-school place. We had a spectacular stew to share, followed by rabbit in garlic sauce—I'd never had it so good, incredible! For dessert, we had something we hadn't had in ages: a slice of "contesa" (a type of almond cake). A great choice, and we'll definitely be back. Finally, Carlos, as we heard the other waiters call him, was fantastic—attentive, quick, and friendly.
I went to eat with my family and everything was delicious. The menu had a lot of variety and was very reasonably priced. The only thing I would improve is that there were no vegetarian options on the menu; I had to choose from the à la carte menu, which only had three choices. Otherwise, it was great. The waitress who served us was super friendly and helped us with that.
100% recommended, and you definitely have to visit the Spanish Civil War Museum. We traveled from Alicante on a whim to try their stew. The fact is, we made a reservation several days in advance, but due to a mistake when making the reservation, they didn't have any available for the day we went. The truth is that after so many miles, we were deeply disappointed to have to change our lunch choices, although luckily the dishes we ordered (like La olla del Cid) were also incredible. However, the owner (Inmaculada) was able to solve this problem perfectly, as she told us that if we came another day, she would treat us to a free stew (there were six of us). So, knowing we'd be in the area for a couple of days, she encouraged us to come back the next day. And indeed, not only did he not invite us to eat the best stew we've ever tasted, but he also insisted that we had to visit the Spanish Civil War museum, which he showed us and explained in great detail. We'll definitely be back, but without a doubt, the best part of all was the treatment received by both Inmaculada and the rest of the staff. Thank you.
A wonderful experience. We were served by a very young, charming waiter. Despite the fact that there was a communion in the dining room inside, they still take great care of their guests. We ate on the terrace/patio. Very pleasant. It has a large pool that wasn't in use, for reasons unknown. From the gardens, you can access the Civil War Museum, which I also recommend visiting. Everything was delicious. We especially liked the local Morata white wine. A delight, we will definitely be back. Thank you very much 🙏 Will definitely come back.
We came to Morata de Tajuña for the day and didn't know where to eat. Thank goodness we stopped here; the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. The staff is attentive and the cuisine is outstanding. We've come to the conclusion that next time we come back, we'll definitely come back again 😉
This is one of those times when you can bet on a sure thing. If you want to enjoy good food, this is the place. A la carte today, although there's a weekend menu for €30. The superior lamb and entrecote along with a great salad were the bet today. Enjoy your meal, enjoy the very professional service, you barely wait, just the right amount of time, and they're very attentive. The atmosphere is very family-friendly and cozy. Before eating, enjoy a cold beer on the terrace. If you come for Morata, be sure to visit this place and enjoy it as much as I did. This is the second time. Price of the meal: Mixed Salad Roast Lamb Entrecote with Potatoes 2 Red Wines 2 Coffees Total €63.20
Today we're going to try the daily menu. The price-performance ratio is fantastic. Good home-cooked food. We ate outside, and the waiter wasn't particularly prompt, but he was very polite. Recommended. The dining room option is also good because it's quite nice and pleasant. It has a large private parking lot with some shaded spaces. The museum is very interesting, but it's not open every day. If you'd like to see it, please inquire.
After a less-than-satisfactory visit a while ago, today's was absolutely GOOD. The service from waitress Macarena was incredible, with absolutely spot-on advice. The grilled octopus was amazing, the scallops were enormous and cooked to perfection. The churrasco was exceptional, tender, and with a matured aroma that I love. And the surprise dessert, made at Macarena's request, was finger-licking good. Keep it up.
Wonderful traditional restaurant
Expectacular...
Good
Very good service and museum included.
At Mesón El Cid, we're particularly impressed by the promptness and friendliness of the staff. We booked for two people; at 2:00 PM, it was half full, but almost every table had a reserved sign (we recommend booking on weekends). There's a weekend menu for €30, though we opted for dishes from the à la carte menu.
Good and traditional place - Hereby recommended
Ok
For our annul dinner, we were gain well fed, although it was a shame the excellent lamb course has now been replaced with chicken that is a little less filling.
